We
visited
this
popular
cocktail
bar
twice
during
our
time
in
Tirana.
Located
in
the
trendy
Bllok
neighbourhood
this
is
a
spot
you
really
have
to
visit
if
you’re
a
fan
of
creative
cocktails.
While
they
serve
beer,
wine
and
the
“standard”
cocktails,
their
real
mojo
is
their
specialty
cocktails.
They
have
a
short
featured
cocktail
menu
that
highlights
different
aspects
of
Albanian
culture.
And
part
of
what
makes
that
extra
special
is
that
the
super
friendly
server
we
had
was
happy
to
explain
the
backstory
behind
the
specialty
cocktails.
For
example,
it’s
traditional
to
offer
special
guests
in
one’s
home
a
Turkish
coffee,
followed
by
raki
(Albania’s
famous
-
and
ubiquitous
-
digestivo).
So
they
created
the
Black
Sabah,
a
raki-based
drink
infused
with
a
light,
aromatic
coffee
flavour
that’s
obvious
only
on
the
finish.
An
absolutely
brilliant
concept,
and
a
delicious
cocktail.
Another
drink
we
enjoyed
-
The
Miller
(pictured).
Here’s
the
story
behind
the
name,
straight
from
the
folks
at
Nouvelle
Vague:
“So
there
is
this
amazing
restaurant
at
the
lake
of
Tirana,
which
is
named
“MULLIXHIU”
and
it
means
the
miller.
Bledi.
The
head
chef
and
owner,
constantly
makes
his
own
“boza”.
Boza
is
traditional
non
alcoholic
drink
which
we
use
it
a
lot
in
the
Balkans,
brought
by
the
Ottomans.
Practically
it
is
a
fermented
corn.
So
we
wanted
to
make
a
drink
inspired
by
the
miller
and
bases
on
boza,
after
a
lot
but
a
lot
of
trying
and
experimenting,
we
concluded
to
the
actual
recipe
that
you
tried.”
Cool,
eh!?
These
specialty
cocktails
are
an
almost
absurdly
affordable
price
-
only
700L.
Cocktails
this
creative
and
well
executed
would
cost
at
least
double
that
where
we
come
from
(and
at
some
places
triple),
so
this
is
an
amazing
bargain.
Highly
recommended.
