This memorial commemorates the victims of the Communist regime in Albania. The memorial features a piece of the Berlin wall, a mushroom shaped bunker, and pillars from the notorious Spaç labor camp. The memorial is the work of the writer and former political dissident Fatos Lubonja and the painter Ardian Isufi. The bunker is in its original position, guarding the main entrance of the segregated residential block where the late dictator Enver Hoxha and the most senior communist officials lived from 1945-1991.

Leftover bunker guarding the Blokk neighborhood. In pretty good condition and can even go inside. It's dedicated to those who suffered under Communism. Next to it is a piece of the Berlin wall.

In the bunker was lot of garbage, glass over the top was broken, there was no garbage bin in the park... I think that all of this can look much better.

It's nice, but.. there is a bunker, a piece of concrete and this artsy passage-like thing without much explanation what is what. And of course it was awfully dirty, like most places in Albania...

Postblloku (Checkpoint), the Memorial to Communist Isolation, commemorates the country’s political prisoners who suffered under the Hoxha regime. The monument is made up of three main elements including one of the small concrete defensive bunkers that litter the country, several concrete supports from the mine at the notorious Spaç labour camp where thousands of political prisoners suffered between 1968 and 1990 and a brightly painted section of the Berlin Wall from Postdamer Platz that once split Germany in two.

Worth coming by if you visit the pyramid across the street. It displays one small section of the Berlin wall and a bunker.

As beautiful as Tirana and the whole of Albania might be, it is also a country that has been left with the heritage of the harshest communist regime in Europe. The society still feels its influence and in order to get rid of a painful past, we believe that knowing and understanding it is crucial. Thus, Postblloku (Checkpoint) is a memorial to Albanian communist isolation, conceived as an artistic installation and created by Fatos Lubonja and Ardian Isufi, Lubonja having suffered the atrocities of the Hoxha regime first hand himself. Situated in the main boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit”, right opposite the Prime Ministry, this installation includes one small concrete bunker, the remaining supports of a mining gallery in the notorious labour camp Spaç and a piece from the Berlin Wall, taken from Potsdamer Platz. I particularly like this area because it is surrounded by green and during a sunny day there is no bigger contrast than the shine of the sun’s rays between the leaves warming up the hard concrete surface that has witnessed the worst kind of human misery. I like to descend the stairs down to the bunker; being able to see the feet of people passing by is an exceptional experience. Postbllok is surely an experience that a visitor must not miss!

Bunker TRIII 1976 I, a checkpoint that during the years of the communist regime controlled access to the exclusive Blloku neighborhood, where the most prominent members of the communist party resided. It is a small bunker with capacity for two or three people.

The site itself was pleasant. However, on entering the bunker we were confronted by a half naked man who winked at us in a suggestive manner. Three star behaviour.

An ancient shelter with no entrance. Only the dome is visible, there is a few steps leading down, but there is no end and that area is very dirty. Apart from that, a piece from the Berlin Wall is also exhibited in this area. I wish there were explanations about these ruins...

Many post-communist era cement construction items like bunkers and art, and a genuine piece of the Berlin Wall with original graffiti still on it. Crazy times, it takes a lot to imagine what made people do these insane things while genociding.

Very small corner with 3 bunkers, a part of the Berlin wall and some concrete from a communist camp. The garden is very well designed and kept. You can visit the bunker and walk around, meeting locals, mainly older people who gather outside in the warm summer days. Very close to the nightlife of Tirana, just a block away from all the main busy government buildings, embassies, museums, etc.

Tirana has decided to maintain some symbolic places of the Hoxa regime. I can't say if there are any nostalgics like I saw in Berlin and Sofia. Certainly here, unlike in Berlin and Sofia there are still statues of Lenin and especially Stalin. You can find them in the garden of the Secretary's house right nearby. I couldn't see them up close due to the armed guard. The rest is small gardens with anonymous monuments.

This place is good. It needs a bit more explanation on what people are seeing. And to clean and repair some damages that were done to the place.

I guess the only interesting things here are the bunker and the piece from the Berlin Wall. Other than that it’s just a small city park.

Straight shelter. There isn't much going on. There was room to get in, but a homeless person was sleeping inside. If anyone is thinking of getting into it, be careful. The park was nice
