Okay,
full
disclosure-
This
is
not
a
review
of
my
“stay”
at
Metro,
but
a
review
of
the
way
they
handled
an
unusual
request
from
a
non-guest,
and
how
it
reflects
on
the
superior
quality
of
service
I
am
sure
their
“real”
guests
receive.
I
am
staying
at
an
Airbnb
apartment
just
down
the
street,
primarily
because
I’m
on
a
cycling
holiday
and
knew
I
would
need
a
place
for
my
(expensive)
bicycle
as
well
as
laundry
and
plenty
of
room
for
“stuff”.
It’s
a
lovely
apartment,
but
unfortunately
I’m
on
the
12th
floor
that
can
only
be
accessed
by
a
tiny,
one-person
elevator
that
I
had
no
prior
warning
about.
Try
as
I
might,
it
could
not
accommodate
the
bike.
Distraught,
jet-lagged
and
HOT,
I
wandered
outside
looking
for
options,
and
saw
the
Metro.
I
went
to
reception,
and
though
hot
and
sweaty,
dressed
in
cycling
gear,
I
was
greeted
as
an
honored
guest
by
Bessa,
my
savior
at
reception.
I
explained
my
situation,
and
offered
to
pay
to
use
their
secure
parking.
She
responded
by
offering
me
their
staff
break
room,
right
next
to
reception,
and
refused
any
payment.
This
morning,
when
I
went
to
retrieve
it
EARLY
for
a
ride
up
to
Dajti
park,
the
overnight
desk
clerk,
(didn’t
get
his
name)
was
polite
and
helpful,
and
had
been
advised
to
expect
me.
This
afternoon,
following
my
ride,
I
went
to
return
it
for
one
more
night,
and
Eddie
the
manager
knew
who
I
was,
personally
took
my
bike,
and
said
they
only
hoped
I
would
be
a
guest
of
theirs
in
the
future.
I
certainly
will!
The
kindness,
empathy
and
genuine
commitment
to
service
is
a
rare
combination
in
service
industries
today,
and
reaffirms
my
love
for
beautiful
Albania
and
it’s
wonderful
people.
If
they
treated
me
so
well,
imagine
how
they
must
handle
their
actual
guests!
Grateful
for
your
kindness,
Metro
staff!
Greg
