This place is corrupted, as most of the public health structures in Albania. The doctors refuse to see the patient unles you give them some pocket money. People need to go up and down for days to get a medics appointment and at the said day they ask you to go and run some tests at the private hospitals/clinics with which the doctors are connected to. (no prior indications on what tests the patient needs to present to the doctor). They even say it to your face, unles you run the tests where they say, they won't accept you as a patient. This country is going down and those who work in the medicine are becoming even more SHAMELESS! Looks like they took the HYPOCRITE oath instead of Hippocratic one.

Please be careful when coming to Albania you don’t want to end up in hospitals they’re not good in this country. Although if you need to be attended this is the best one to come to (it is public). The doctors are good and Friendly, a hospital visit counts as an Albanian experience. If your visiting the country and you want to make a difference donating blood is a way to do it, you can rock up at almost any time to donate blood, and you can have a fun time talking to some awesome Albanian doctors in the proses.

The staff here still works under the lack of instruments and medicines, but they do miracles under the present conditions and low salary. They are misunderstood and put under high pressure by the patients who have no insurances in most of the cases... However the government is making a progress in providing better sources and services

Highly corrupted. A patient who can't be taken care at home, because of really bad conditions which needs healthcare specialists and a proper environment with all the tools available to keep them alive, was refused to be admitted here because he was sick with cancer and they said "we can't take care of him here, just a serum and he can get out". The patient of course needed to stay there until everything was resolved. It was weekend, and Oncology Emergency does not work on weekends so they told us to keep him alive at home. We are not professionals doctors/nurseries, we have no specialised environment in home to take care of a person in such conditions and of course the idea was absurd. After asking around, snitching in, they asked us to pay and corrupt some people so we can get him admitted in this Mother Teresa Hospital emergency. After few days our family member died, but the way we had to say goodbye to him was very degraded. We had to pay to keep the nurseries around for him, to keep the cleaners around, to enter and say something to him every now and then, to get the doctor to check him every now and then. And we slept few nights outside in the cold, in turns, because there is no normal way to support such patients in such a structure. Overall I thought to share our story, maybe I have made some mistakes in my writing due to emotions, but this is the reality in this place. And it has not changed! HIghly corrupted, no one cares unless you pay them and still you get worst quality treatments ever!

University Hospital Center "Mother Teresa" in Tirana is the largest health institution in Albania and academic health institution is the only one of its kind, making it the only Albanian tertiary health center. Currently UHC offers outpatient health care for about 150,000 people a year, hospital care for over 60,000 people a year and emergency service for about 200,000 people a year.

Still a long way to go before I give this structure 5 star review. However if there is no other solution you will end up here.... eventually. Hopefully no need to spend the night and you get to recover home, but if that happen be prepared..... Although, I have to say, they are improving with time, corruption is still present and sometime lack of basic rights.

Excellent hospital with good doctors and good care. One doctor is nicer and has more attention for the patient than the other. But overall good medical care is provided here. You are still treated here as a human being. The first aid is not really fast, I have had to wait two hours. Annoying are the smoking patients at the door. Little expensive parking in the neighborhood. The shop is good and not too expensive, and enough alternatives around the hospital.

(Translated by Google) I wish not even Hasmin to see this hospital. Why do I run the risk of being treated there ... What do I remember before ?! They want money from the police to the door, sanitation to dry the bath, the nurse who we my eyes teased my dad, for a question he asked, (for doctors to talk brazenly, with hands in pockets, with the blouse on the bar and not back, with talkative even the make-up as if he was going to coffee ... ... (Translated by Google) Good doctors, nurses, aid staff and less management, The hygienic sanitary conditions are very precarious almost at the level of a 3rd world hospital. The medicines are not supplied, you make them buy into a famacia next and then they make you sign a document to where it written that you have disclosed it for free. Indecent is the primary, who is arrogant and not very available on his part there is no lack of insults and lack of professionalism. Among criticisms can not miss the claim of bribes to be taken into account, in the absence of these you wait longer and then do not give you the service you need to use.

(Translated by Google) Even 3 stars is not real rating for this location, but I gave 4 for motivation ... There should be underground parking, recreational park and recreational park, among the buildings, maps and full signage for the orientation of pedestrian visitors, and above all ... completely new interior spaces, contemporary buildings with good hygiene conditions. More Sunny inside and outside the premises, is a constraint-determination. (Original) As 3 yje nuk është vlerësim real për këtë lokacion ,por unë dhashë 4 për motivim... (Translated by Google) Where do you start, where do you stop ?! Unfortunately, there is no alternative, so you have to wait several hours in the emergency room. It's just as messy inside as it is outside. Hardly any parking for the flood of cars, all parking where and how they can (also like in the middle of the entrance for the emergency room) ... the local police patrol interested that relatively little! The doctors and nurses need to constantly chase after and run after, to get a treatment ... absolutely no system behind it! Whoever shouts loudest is served ... Hardly any medical equipment available, from free beds or similar. hardly to speak! Public toilets are like a garbage dump. Purge hoses deliberately disconnected ... Rinsing and cleanliness is probably overrated here. All in all, this place is very far removed from the approaches of European standards. Good luck to all who are forced to resort to this! The second star is for the people who try to do their best in these conditions.
