I'm
traveling
from
America
to
Albania
and
I
have
two
foreign
insurances
to
cover
medical
costs
for
up
to
$100,000.
I
went
to
the
gynecologist
for
abnormal
swelling.
The
wait
was
fine
but
I
was
seen
by
a
gynecologist
who
didn't
ask
for
medical
history
or
allergies.
I
got
an
exam
and
samples
for
tests
were
taken.
Then
I
was
prescribed
two
medicines.
They
wouldn't
tell
me
what
I
had
or
even
what
they
thought
I
had
but
prescribed
me
medicine
for
a
yeast
infection.
Not
only
that
but
the
doctor,
while
explaining
to
me
with
imperfect
English
is
condescending
after
I
ask
a
question.
I
misunderstood
and
he
tells
me
to
"pay
attention"
and
then
proceeds
to
explain
literally
everything
again
condescendingly.
While
this
is
happening
he
gives
me
a
sheet
that
describes
the
visit
and
it
has
the
wrong
birthdate
on
it,
he
put
"abnormal
discharge"
for
the
reason
for
coming
when
I
told
him
swelling
and
when
he
asked
about
discharge
I
said
I
didn't
know.
Then
he
had
my
menstrual
history
on
the
paper
that
was
also
incorrect
and
he
never
asked
me.
I
told
him
my
blood
type
was
AB
but
I
didn't
know
whether
it
was
positive
or
negative
and
he
just
marked
down
positive
on
the
sheet
despite
me
not
knowing.
I'm
not
sure
why
he
needed
my
blood
type
and
not
my
medical
history
or
things
like
allergies.
His
job
as
a
doctor
is
to
listen
to
my
concerns,
have
the
knowledge
to
diagnose
me,
and
then
explain
to
me
my
options
and
what
I'm
supposed
to
do.
Not
only
did
he
write
up
things
he
didn't
even
ask,
he
typed
the
wrong
birthdate
and
completely
ignored
my
initial
concern,
putting
something
completely
different.
Then
was
condescending
when
his
English
was
hard
to
understand
and
he
didn't
ask
for
my
medical
history
leading
to
me
misunderstanding
what
he
was
saying.
He
didn't
tell
me
he
thought
I
had
a
yeast
infection.
I
had
to
ask
what
the
medicine
was
for
but
he
wouldn't
even
try
to
diagnose
me
and
said
he
had
to
wait
for
the
test
which
takes
3
business
days.
Clearly,
he
was
confident
enough
to
give
me
medicine
so
if
I
didn't
know
anything
or
ask
the
right
questions
I'd
be
left
in
the
dark
and
even
applying
the
medicine
wrong.
So,
as
a
doctor,
his
job
of
listening
and
advising
he
just
failed
at.
I
left
the
office
feeling
upset
and
frustrated
rather
than
cared
for.
Their
hospital
that
is
labeled
"Amerikan"
doesn't
take
American
insurance.
The
only
American
thing
about
it
is
the
rudeness
and
the
fact
that
they
just
want
your
money.
It's
very
obvious
I'm
foreign.
I
had
assumed
I'd
prepared
well
enough
by
getting
insurance
that
is
internation
and
low
and
behold
they
don't
take
it.
No
answers
as
to
why,
just
that
they
don't
accept
anything
but
Albanian
insurance.
They
didn't
bother
to
inform
me
before
about
the
cost
or
the
fact
that
they
don't
take
international
insurance.
Should
I
have
asked
about
the
insurance?
Yes,
however
I
have
no
idea
how
Albanian
hospitals
worked
and
assumed
my
internation
insurance
that's
supposed
to
cover
basically
everything
would
work.
I
didn't
consider
that
private
hospitals
would
just
not
accept
my
insurance
and
not
inform
me
or
ask
before
I
got
treatment
if
they
did
that.
All
of
the
bills
were
in
Albanian
despite
my
exam
sheet,
I
previously
mentioned,
being
half
in
English
and
half
in
Albanian.
My
Albanian
isn't
great
and
they
asked
me
to
sign
3
times.
I
said
I
couldn't
read
it
and
was
hesitant
to
sign
it.
The
reception
was
a
bit
impatient
with
me
and
only
explaining
that
it
was
a
bill
and
I
have
to
sign
where
the
dashes
were.
I
go
and
get
my
perscriptions
and
realize
that
they
never
asked
for
my
allergies
so
it's
possible
that
if
I
just
trusted
them
I
might
have
been
in
trouble
and
possibly
have
gotten
hurt.
Overall
it
was
a
horrible
experience.
I
didn't
feel
listened
to,
the
receptionists
were
staring
at
me
oddly,
they
refused
insurance
most
likely
knowing
it
would
be
out
of
pocket
for
me
and
not
saying
a
word
until
it
was
time
to
pay,
didn't
ask
for
medical
history,
made
up
and
incorrectly
recorded
my
medical
data,
and
the
doctor
was
condescending.
