Unforgettable hiking tour of Valbone and Theth. Andi is a great guide and the whole team are welcoming and friendly people. The guest houses were fantastic and we ate very well which we needed after long days of hiking. Thanks for making it a great birthday trip!

Did the 3day hike from Valbone to Theth with Go as Local. AMAZING! The route is doable but really nice, the guide Daniel was very attentive and knowledgeable. The group we has was also really nice. All in all a fantastic experience. Can you do this hike yourself? Yes probably, but not having to arrange anything is amazing. I also read the few negative reviews and I can understand some of them. It is difficult to put all information into the folder so just ask them any question you have beforehand. I have done so a million times and they were always ready to answer me. Most information is in the explanatory tour but just be aware that you take with you on the 3 days what you need because you have to bring it along. What you do not need can either stay behind in the Go as Local office or -if applicable- in your hotel. So do I recommend them? Most definitely. You do not have to worry about anything and you definitely will have an amazing experience! Thanks again guys!

Had an amazing tour organised by GoAsLocal to Ohrid, North Macedonia. Xhulio was an excellent guide and very friendly, outgoing, and knowledgeable. A great experience and worth every penny. Would highly recommend GoAsLocal and would gladly go on their tours in the future the next time I am in Tirana. 10/10

We did the ‚Traditional Food Cooking Class in Tirana‘. And what to say: It was just amazing! Andi & Sindi were doing the class. While Sindi was the cooking chef, Andi explained the preparing. We had a lot of questions about albanian history and culture too, Andi told us everything about Albania, his family, their lifes and so on... You cook and taste typical albanian food, you taste typical drinks, you get ‚insider‘ knowledge of albanian life. We felt totally welcomed. Felt like you are visiting lovely friends, have nice conversations and cook and drink together. If you are in Tirana and you want to know how classical albanian food is cooked and tastes: Visit Andi & Sindi. For us: An unforgetable experience. Thank you so much!

Had a great experience with their cooking class! While not a professional chef, she had learnt from one. The food was fresh, and we got to try some homemade butter, raki, and wine. The recipes are easy for beginners, too. Class sizes are small, so you have a hands on experience. Enjoyed the cooking and the food immensely. The location can be a bit hard to find, but they wait for you out on the street. Very welcoming and would definitely book this cooking class again.

We did a cooking class with Go as local. It was a brilliant experience and the best food we tried so far, visiting western Balkan. They were nice, professional and they covered different eventualities that I would never have thought of. We were provided ingredients, guidance, and help, if needed. And step by step, we prepared and ate four courses - a starter, main dish and two desserts and got some extra snacks But above all else, we got answers to all of our questions, from sourcing the ingredients to things unrelated to cooking. I sincerely have nothing to complain about and I would like to point out that the sense of humor, our host had was just spot on and that's what I look for in people 👍

Amazing experience with Go as Local. I booked 2 tours with them. The tour guide Xhulio made the experience unforgettable. As a solo traveler, sometimes I get anxious about going to places , he made me feel at ease. His driving is exceptional. He knows his onions. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip. xx

Today, we joined the City and Food Tour in Tirana with Aron. It was well over and above our expectations. Aron is extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about his country, its history, diversity and evolution. Our discoveries and learnings were numerous. Aron is very kind and the pace of the tour was most pleasurable. Food was excellent (loved the ice cream) and we would highly recommend this tour. We were sad when it ended ;) Celine & Winston from Montréal, Canada

I went on a day trip to Kosovo on a Go as Local tour and it was amazing! My guide, Skerdi, was super knowledgeable and really easy to talk to. This tour was a great opportunity to experience Kosovo, its food, culture, history, etc. I highly recommend Go as Local because they offered exemplary service and made my trip to Kosovo as enjoyable and easy as possible!

The traditional Albanian cooking class was terrific! Cindy our host was very generous sharing home-made wine and local knowledge. The 4 dishes we cooked were also delicious.

We did the 3 day hiking tour from Valbona to Theth with Dan. The good: the accommodation and food were great. Everything was organised, it was clean spacious rooms at nice places. The food was tasty, authentic, and plentiful. Everything connected together well and for the most part was on time. The not so great: the communication about what to bring was very lacking. Multiple times we found ourselves surprised by needing something we didn't have or having to frantically pack bags. Dan was clearly quite frustrated during the tour and this resulted in some quite uncomfortable encounters. Some mismatch around timing meant we ended up sitting around for a while on the final day waiting for things to happen. I would still highly recommend this tour, but know you can't bring your big bags on it, you will need to carey everything you need in a backpack for the wholw tour, you need bathers for swimming, and the boat cruise is very long (3hrs). Including times in our itinerary would have alleviated alot of frustrations for everyone and provided clarity for packing.

My husband and I went to Albania two years back. We booked a 3 day tour with Andi and Skerdi, we had an absolute blast. Felt like we were on tour with friends. They both are very knowledgeable about all the sites they took us to. We first went river rafting, then to Permet where we stayed in the best stone house with the most gracious hosts (and their legendary dog Shpetim who we think about often). Later we did mountain biking, had a delicious local meal and ended the trip with a hike. It was truly magical and the highlight of our trip to Albania. Anyone who goes must book a tour with Go as Local, the experience will live up to its name and I promise you will talk about it for years to come.

It was an exellent trip. On our last day in Tirana, we decided to visit another country and Kosovo was a good choice. Both cities were quite interesting but Prizren was our favourite.

The only tour company you need in Albania! A good combo of informative, fun and relax atmosphere! The communication was excellent, and the workshop itself was just awesome! We have learned a lot and had a great time. Both Andi and Sindi were super helpful and we made some delicious food

The guys here are so friendly and welcoming, well I guess this is a quality of most Albanians as I have heard and seen with my own eyes during my holidays here. The name goes so well with what they do, you get a authentic taste ( literally i took a cooking class as well :) ) and my guide was so knowledgeable and replied to all the questions I had ( I am a very curious person).

An absolute "must" if you're visiting Tirana! Private Day Tour of Pristina & Prizren from Tirana including UNESCO Sites My husband and I wanted to visit another country while we were visiting Albania and came across this tour to Kosovo. This was a private tour with us and two guides (Andi and Skerdi). From start to finish I cannot fault this tour. Andi's knowledge about literally everything is unbelievable and Skerdi's amazing driving skills were second to none. We were picked up on time as previously arranged and due to it being a private tour, we had a part in choosing where to visit and how much time to spend at each location. By the end of the day we felt as though we had known Andi and Skerdi for years. They were so relaxed and welcoming and we genuinely laughed so much our bellies hurt. We contemplated renting a car and doing this on our own but we are so glad we went with the tour instead. I think I would have had a panic attack driving myself, however Skerdi was amazing. Everywhere we went Andi could translate for us (most people speak English but it's still nice to have someome who knows the language). Prizren is absolutely gorgeous (extremely cold in January by the way) and I think we would definitely go back to visit there again. Pristina wasn't as quaint as Prizren but I'm still glad we went there to see all the history there. Things to note.... Make sure you bring your passport for border control, and some Euros for when you are in Kosovo. We never had euros but managed to get some from ATM easily enough. If you do a bit of research before hand and there is anywhere in particular you want to see, Andi will do his best to get you there (time permitting)... Otherwise he will mostly stick to main highlights. We had an interest in particular things so our conversations and facts pointed out to us revolved around that. (I love churches and my husband loves learning about the history of the wars and independence). Unfortunately the bears were hibernating at the Bear Sanctuary (how rude haha) which we really wanted to see although it's not officially on the tour. I would highly recommend a restaurant in Prizren called Beska if you can hold off til then to eat. The food was absolutely delicious (a massive platter of meats, salads and breads which we all shared). Genuinely loved this tour and my husband and I will remember this day for many years to come. A massive thank you to Andi and Skerdi for sharing their day with us and being the best hosts ever!! :)

Great tour, great company, great guide Private Day Tour of Prizren from Tirana I can’t say enough good things about Andi and Go as Local. I took the day trip to Prizren from Tirana. I have taken tours all over the world and Andi/Go as Local hits everything you’re looking for in a guide/company: -excellent communication while setting up the tour -prompt arrival -easygoing conversation -highly knowledgeable about Albania, Kosovo, and the Balkans; enthusiastic about history; and insightful about the future of Albania -tour was in clear, excellent English -very clean, safe car and safe driving on the tour (there was both a guide and a driver which made the whole experience more relaxed) -Prizren is lovely town with beautiful views and an interesting religious and political history What really made the tour enjoyable was Andi’s small considerations - I was recovering from a broken ankle and there was a long, steep incline to the castle. Andi matched my slower pace, stopping along the way to point out sights and history. Passports aren’t generally stamped at the border but he asked if I’d like him to request a stamp as souvenir. He easily accommodated my request to stop by a post office. Knowing I had been to Kruje and Berat with another company that didn’t supply much information, he seamlessly added information about both cities into the Prizren tour, as much of the Balkans’ history is linked. I highly recommend the Prizren tour, Go as Local in general, and Andi in particular. A highly professional company which made every aspect of the trip enjoyable.

Fabulous cooking class. More than enough food. Our instructors were very knowledgeable and were able to answer all of our questions (not just about food). They told us about the culture and history of the country. In addition, they told us stories about themselves and families. I would recommend this class, or other courses that they offered.

Sindi and Andi are great hosts for a cooking, wine and raki tasting day.In addition to making and eating traditional foods we leaned so much about the culture and history of Albania thru ottoman rule , Communism, and later finally independence. A great experience for anyone and everyone. Thanks for a great day!

Wonderful tour Andi made the experience awesome. We had him previously on another tour/transfer and he was great then too. He taught us many things about Berat; the culture, the history and the beauty. It was great and I definitely recommend him and this tour for anyone traveling to Albania! Thank you again Andi!
