Taxi is outrageous, 15.0euro for 3kms, some restaurants are okay but other fast food stores just try to rip you off, 200leke for very small portion of fries etc... Enough said... after been traveling in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Croatia etc... The beach in Durres is not the one that I will come the second time for sure.

I guess the bad reviews come from the high season. I am currently here and it is definitely should be higher rated in my opinion. Water is clear and not dirty. Also a bonus not having the sardine style umbrellas. Good time to come.

A lovely place for a really cheap beach holiday. I paid £158 total for return flights & an apartment on the beach, for 5 nights for 3 people. We had a great time in Durres where everybody seemed very friendly. We can't wait to return.

However the people in Durres have been so kind and warm! It’s one of the friendliest places I’ve been. I think the people here are generally very happy and even though it’s a fairly big city, it still has a small town feel. This is a great place to make friends but the beach leaves a lot to be desired.
