Excellent. Must visit. One of the most beautiful trails in Albania. Castle grounds could be a little better maintained. The sign has probably been down a long time considering the condition. Very important place to the National Hero Skanderberg of the 15th century but doesn’t seem well cared for by modern Albania in the 21st century unfortunately.

Rodoni Castle is a beautiful place to walk to, but first you have to drive over a road with many holes and bad pavement. Than you come to entrance of the park where a very friendly guard will open the gate after payment. Than you drive to the parking place and walk for about 20 minutes through a beautiful area. It is not an easy walk because there are not easy stairs and different levels in the small road without stairs so if you are not so good in walking than it is very difficult to get there. The views of this walk are beautiful, especially the view on the castle. When you arrive at the castle you see the architecture of many years ago. I have to make one remark there is a lot of rubbish in the castle and surrounding. I really hope that this will be cleaned in the near future. It is shame that a beautiful place looks like this. On our way bad we took the road along the sea. It is a walk with a lot stones and sometimes you have to walk through the water. It would have been a beautiful walk but the trash on this road is so much that it is unbelievable. I just wonder why a beautiful place like this it not well maintained. It is a beautiful place to go if you can see through the trash.

A bit off the beaten path. 20 minutes walk from car park. Not the easiest walk on narrow footpath. Can also be accessed from the beach but only at low tide. Worth the effort

Fortress in a scenic location. If the gate is open, definitely hike there. You can't get across the beach dry-footed.

Was there all by myself in April. What a scenery! 300 Lek at the entrance is totally worth it. The only pity was that it closed at 6 pm.

The castle at Cape of Rodon is a must-see destination in Albania. This breathtaking castle perched on a cliff offers stunning views of the Albanian coastline and the Adriatic Sea. The castle is an almost-well preserved example of medieval architecture, and a visit here provides a fascinating glimpse into the country's rich history. The castle is surrounded by lush greenery and is a great place for a picnic or a leisurely stroll. Whether you're interested in history, architecture, or just want to enjoy the natural beauty of Albania, the Rodoni Castle is not to be missed. Tips and tricks: 1/ The road to Cape of Rodon is not maintained and a part of it is not asphalted. So make sure your vehichle is an appropriate one for off-road. 2/ Stop by at Rodoni Parking, at the end of the road. Leave your vehichle there and start a good walking towards the beach on your right. It is also known as "Rëra e Bardhë" (Eng. The White Sand) or "Plazhi i Shën Antonit" (Eng. St. Anthony's Beach). It is 3/ Enjoy a bit of the beach which is not very popular, thus most of the time you will be surrounded by only a few people. There are a couple of bars that offer drinks and snacks. Get ready for another walk on your left towards the end of the cape, nearby which stands the castle. The path to the castle is not a piece of cake. Sometimes you walk through sand, sometimes on sharp stones and rocks, but also through sea grass and unfortunately many times through trash :( If you do not want to slide, get an injury or even infection, wear appropriate stuff. 4/ When getting to the castle, you will be able to enjoy it a lot. You can have a small picnic there, sit on top of the ruins and make the best of it. Do not forget to bring a hat or a small umbrella to take cover from a hot burning sun. 5/ On the way back, I preferred hiking, which is not very difficult and offers breathtaking views from the top of the hill. However, the narrow trail is quite dangerous at some points, so do not take it for granted. Enjoy your once-in-a-life experience at Cape of Rodon.

Beautiful peninsula. A day trip if you stay close to Tiranë or Durrës. Get some snacks upfront as the bars sell only drinks and comfy shoes for the short hike on the trail to the barracks, the secret ex military defence facilities and the castle. It’s a shame people don’t care about the their own beautiful nature and environment and throw away rubbish and the authorities don’t seem to do a lot about pollution prevention, garbage collection or prosecution of violators.

Not the easiest to find this small hidden coastal castle is tucked away on the end of a peninsula. You need to hike to get there, but it’s a short hike around 15 minutes if you do it quickly. To find the parking lot where you start you may need to pay a small fee to pass through private land. There’s a beach there with a small basic restaurant and lots of bunkers and tunnels. Go past the security gate and past the beach and then you’ll make it to the parking lot where you can hike along the cliff side and eventually hike into the brush and towards the other side of the peninsula where the castle is at the bottom touching the water. We went during sunset 🌅 which was beautiful on the cliff side but darker by the castle as the sun sets on the other side of the cliffs. It’s a fun little adventure. Don’t give up!

The path to the castle was closed, so we had to reach it following the coast for 20-30 minutes by feet. Needless to say that the whole coast was extremely dirty, full of plastic and garbage in general, both in the sea and on the beaches. In the last 5-10 minutes we had to literally walk on a bank made of rubbish. We reached the castle, beautiful but also full of garbage and plastic trash. In the end we managed to get back to the start of the path through the closed path (it was closed in the start of the path but not in the end, so we managed to get in and when reaching the start the guardian opened the gate for us). On the top of the closed path the view is actually very beautiful, it’s very clean and you can admire all the nature around. It’s pitiful that such a beautiful attraction is in this kind of state, abandoned and forgotten.

Ruins from 1450, lots of bunkers from World War 2, camping site and beach next to it, many paths with a large difference in elevations (I don't recommend flip-flops), rocks, local vegetation + wonderful views around. I highly recommend:):):) (Original) Dla tego miejsca wybraliśmy wakacje w pobliżu! Urzekające, romantyczne, historyczne! Dear Albanian brother, let’s be a little bit proud about your country,?history and cultural heritage. Keep at least such places free of garbage. It’s sad. A tourist attraction, no secure paths, tons of waste everywhere. Disgusting. And for that you even ask for an entrance. Simply sad!

The hike was very pleasant. If you see the other reviews, they'll say that there is no marked path, which is true, but if you just stick to the beaten path you'll get there (it's the path everyone takes, it'll be obvious). We also saw here that to get there you had to pay. I don't know if we got lucky or what it was (we were here on a Sunday, by the way), but we didn't pay anything. Lovely hike like I said, lovely views, but it's simply heartbreaking to see how much trash is everywhere.

This was a beautiful place to hike to, but you pretty much have to rent a car to get there. The trail was rustic and a bit overgrown in some places, not recommend for people with walking difficulties. Note, the good part of the trail ends where the photo is taken looking down on the castle.

It takes a lot of time to get there from Tirana, but if you have a car or are prepared to hitchhike there, it's definitely worth it. With hitchhiking it took three hours in total. There is also a short hike from the car parking down to the castle. I didn't find the restaurant described on the map though, so bring your own lunch.

Amazing day - fun and adventure Not that easy to drive and not that much indications - just my wife use to remember Bize & Draç village 20 y ago when she use to work with Caritas on those remote Catholic Comunity. Friendly and smiley people around. The land is back&private property to the Catholic comunity - 10 m way of clear Cristal water of a really salty unexplored beach is the Catholic Church dated 1559- beautiful architecture - the sister of Scanderberg got married in that church - We had wild Sea-bream in the little restaurant- very good wild taste and cold beer Peja - super enjoy it - was lovely atmosphere - dispute a very hot day 38 degree in that little beach was great a enjoyable breeze -marvellous turquoise colours of sea and fine sand. Following the sea side you could reach the Castle of Scanderbag or Fortes of Rodoni - is slippery narrow path - great Adventure to get there- unforgettable- unique - enjoyable- we love it despite holding our baby on those difficult paths. Is breathtaking all the views - I recommend to do it just before the Sunset - is memorable for life .

For the fact that it is located in a national park and € 1.- entry must be paid at the entrance, the lying around garbage should be disposed of. The irony of everyday life is that it is written everywhere, you should not leave trash lying around, but nobody sticks to it. Unfortunately! Shortcoming: extremely much plastic waste in the sea, as well as three stranded, dead stray dogs. Garbage collectors fighting on the beach are very hardworking. But it is so bad.
