Didn’t actually stay at the hotel, thankfully. I would be very weary of booking this hotel if you are an international visitor. I emailed this hotel on 7/31 inquiring about the apartment accommodation. The website is something, circa AOL 3.0. Not user friendly and not accurate. Since we were a family of more than 2 guests I sent an email asking if I could book through the website and add on later, as their website (that’s the equivalent of a 2000’s MySpace page) only allowed two guests to be selected. The next day I got an email that I should book another room, despite the accommodation being listed for a family of four. I called the hotel to try to clarify the issue as I was concerned with possible miscommunication. Ina Hiri, an associate of the hotel informed me the room was actually available. She emailed me about the hotel. I responded asking for a secure form of payment to reserve the room. No answer. Followed up with three more emails. No answer. Called directly and a receptionist told me to send her my AMEX via WhatsApp. Um yeah, not happening. When I asked for a secure form of payment such as PayPal or wire transfer, again no response. Decided to stay somewhere else and got an email today saying the room wasn’t available. Very shady staff. I also left a comment on their Instagram letting them know. Instead of responding to my countless emails for weeks, they just deleted my comment and blocked me. Beware of the glowing reviews.

I would say its 3.5 stars. In general its said that the palace is one of best hotels in durres.....well I can say that the palace is loosing its crown 👑. Everything is kind of old and needs urgent updating. We came here for the spa area which was a big disappointment! Tiles falling of the Pool and the sauna is a joke!! The whole hotel needs an urgent upgrade. The people at the reception told us that they already started with the renovation and that the whole house is going to be renovated. Breakfast was good and the bed comfortable. Without renovation I would not stay here again.

Bravo Palace Hotel & spa. The rooms are clean and beautiful. The spa sauna is relaxing, however the jacuzzi and indoor pool water was cold :( The octopus and mushrooms dish at dinner in the restaurant was absolutely delicious. The included breakfast was top tier— given that we only paid 60€ for the standard room in the off-season we couldn’t be more pleased. We wished we had skipped other parts of our trip to have had more time luxuriating in this hotel.

The one star is to get your attention, and doesn't reflect our overall impression of the hotel. I will come back to why I gave one. The positives first. The restaurant serves really good food, and the staff is really nice. The breakfast on the 5th floor with amazing views is also great with specialty coffee made by order as the highlight. The outdoor pool is pretty good even though there are just a few sunbeds availible. The beach is ok, but the sea and seashore is just dirty and is not at all inviting to swim in. The area around the hotel is not really nice either. The spa at the hotel is really dated. The inside pool and "jacuzzi" lacks tiles and the gym equipment is rusty. The reception staff hides as much as possible behind the desk, and only looks up from their phones when it is absolutely necessary. A good example is when we where leaving and I was carrying 2 heavy suitcases down the stairs. 3 people where working the reception with nothing to do. All of them saw me, and no one offered to help. That is true 5 star service 🤩. So back to why I gave 1 star. The hotel offers their own hotel taxis. We booked one of theese for a 30 minute trip. The price was negotiated up front, and the trip itself was fine. The driver was juggeling between 2 phones the whole trip, but that is kind of expected and accepted. The problem came when we made the payment. The negociated price was 3.500 Lekh. I gave the driver 5.000 Lekh and excpected 1.500,- back. He gave me back a 1.000 note and insisted that I had only given him a 1.000 note. I am 100% sure that I gave him a 5.000 note as I had just been to the ATM and had withdrawn 10.000 Lekh. I tried to argue and insist that I had given him the correct note, but he started to get really mad at the point where it became really uncomfortable. Since I was traveling with my wife and daughter I let it go. When I told the reception about the scam later that day, their only response was "we are sorry about that". Our conclusion is that we would choose a different hotel the next time, and it is a shame that they call themselves 5 stars.

Wonderful place. Rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished. Everything is close and accessible, sea, deck chairs, swimming pool, SPA, restaurant. Secure parking. Staff friendly and helpful. Everything is subordinated to the guest. Recommendation 10 *!

The views around pool area and overall vibe you get is very good considering the price you pay. It is a good option if you want to stay near Beach but also not too far from city centre as it is just 7-10 minutes away from central. The rooms are clean. Although the neighbourhood looks a bit dirty but if you stay around beach area and take a taxi to central it is a nice place for couple of nights.

A luxury hotel with very professional service, its own swimming pool and access to the beach. Valet very helpful and parks the car himself. A large room that meets the requirements of the most demanding customers. Free upgrade offered off season which is a very pleasant surprise. Breakfast at the highest level. One of the best.

Would not reccomend if you go here for the spa experience or massage. The staff did not give good massages, and the whole experience felt unprofessional. Unfortunately. The massage-room was tiny, had a bad massage-table and it just looked tacky. Luckily the staff was polite, but the “spa” was a joke.

This is not a five star hotel. At all. It might look nice at first glance, but if you look closer, absolutely not. We spent a week in this hotel a couple of weeks ago, and a lot of things were good, but a lot was also not. The good first: Breakfast was very nice, but you’d think they would have some sort of switch up throughout the week. Every day, it was the exact same things. Location was good, close to bus, restaurants and shops. But then the bad: First of all, the beach is absolutely useless. There is a stone wall at the end of it, with steps into the water. Also very dirty. We didn’t go swimming once. And we didn’t see anyone else swimming here either. Cold water in the pool at the very small spa. Gym was dirty and very my worn. Then, we booked a room with a balcony, of course assuming this was private. It was not. It was a shared balcony in the view of everyone, which was very uncomfortable. (Room 211) In this room, the WiFi was bad, and didn’t work on our balcony. Also, the door to the bathroom was hard to close, and maintenance didn’t seem to clean my toilet the first six days. There was what looked left over from poop marks on our toilet paper holder the whole time. That’s disgusting. There were cracks in the shower walls, and the shower head was rusty. Maintenance didn’t understand English, so very hard to communicate with. Nice, but impossible to ask for stuff almost. It also said the room had noise cancelling, which it really could not have. I heard everything going on in the hallway and the balcony at all times. Impossible to sleep after 8am. Day six I decided I had had enough, and decided to ask to change rooms to be comfortable the last night and morning with my husband. After all, we paid for a five star hotel. The guys in the reception were very nice about it, but I had to wait til the next day. That’s fine, as they said the hotel was full. The next day we got the new room (904 I think), and we were excited to enjoy our last day and night here. But the room still had so many things wrong with it. Balcony was fine, but WiFi was absolutely useless, didn’t work on the balcony at ALL, and kept disconnecting all the time inside the room. The door to the bathroom could not be closed, and all though we are married, I expect at least the privacy of closing a door behind me in the bathroom. The flusher on the toilet had not been cleaned, so we cleaned it ourselves. Still worn down shower, with the hand shower button not able to push in and use. At this time I didn’t have it in me to complain again, because I had already complained, the hotel was full, and I probably wouldn’t get a new room anyways, and we were leaving the next morning. So we left it, paid, and went to the airport. Not happy, but not feeling up for facing another issue right then and there. So all in all, we did not have the five star experience that we paid for and therefore expected. We left disappointed and annoyed, the absolute opposite of what we should have felt.

The palace hotel is a stunning hotel, very clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. My room was very large and well equipped. I had the deluxe room with a very comfortable king-size bed, a Juliet balcony facing directly over the pool and beach, with a very usable side balcony which still had a Seaview. There was ample seating and loungers around the pool and on the beach, with lots of comfortable chairs and sofas, cabanas and shade. Breakfast on the fifth floor sitting outside overlooking the beach was an amazingly enjoyable experience, with a fabulous buffet style breakfast, with plenty of choices. Though I would say that the cooked offering wasn’t perhaps the best (for someone from the UK or States). Special mention has to go to the wonderful housekeeping staff. The absolute highlight for me was Uni, the masseuse in the Spa; I booked a massage with her on the first day and explained how I had had back surgery about six weeks ago and she suggested a 45 minute therapeutic massage which was the best massage I had ever had; so much so that I booked another one for the day before I left as well! Thank you too all the staff for making my first and I’m sure not my last, visit to Albania so enjoyable.

Great room, friendly personal ( both check-in and restaurant), really helpful staff with parking. At the restaurant they changed the dish that they mistakenly brough admiting that it was their mistake. One minus is the Spa. The sauna is outdated. Some boards are missing from the beds. An update wouldn't hurt.

My wife & I enjoyed a beautiful stay here, room was available well before check in time of 2pm. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was incredible, definitely the best I experienced this year in Europe. The sauna & gym are great, although in peak season I don’t think they’d deal with the crowds. The restaurants food is great also. Compared to other 5 stars I’ve stayed in, I’d say that this hotel is comparable to a 4 star. How ever my stay was nothing short of fantastic

Staff was nice, and there was enough parking space, which was a positive aspect of the visit. The location of the restaurant was also good, and the room had a cozy atmosphere. However, there were several issues that significantly impacted our experience. Firstly, there were a lot of kids in the inside pool, and they were constantly screaming. Furthermore, the room was cleaned without our permission, which invaded our privacy and was quite unsettling. The burgers and fries we ordered were served cold, which was disappointing. In addition, there was a problem with the bathroom door; it couldn't close as it was broken. This lack of privacy was an inconvenience. The air conditioner in the room also didn't work properly, making the room uncomfortable. The restaurant also lacked variety in its food offerings, and it was not specified whether the food was halal or not, which may be a concern for some customers. Overall, while the staff was friendly, and there were some positive aspects to the experience, there were several issues that need improvement, especially in terms of the quality of food, privacy, and the maintenance of the facilities.

You would expect more from a five star hotel. The only thing good about this hotel is the breakfast and the cleaning staf. Besides this the reception is useless and rude. Customer service is something they need to improve. Especially for the reception ladies that work the night shifts. They are constantly on their phones and have no idea of how a luxury hotel should work. Complains are ignored and "forgotten". Furthermore the hotel Is located far away from Durres center. You'll need to take a taxi every time you wanna go to the center or back. I would not recommended, there are way better hotels around for this price. I almost forgot, the SPA is a big joke. Only thing that works is the indoor pool which is small and not warm at all, the sauna is alright but only fits 2-3 people. So not worth booking this hotel for the "SPA"

It’s a nice hotel and the staff are very friendly. Especially one staff member stood out to us, Mendi, who worked at the beach bar. He was so helpfull and always made sure that the guest are taken care of. No matter how hot the days were he was always positive! He definitely made our trip so much better and gave us a lot of local tips. But the area around the hotel is really bad. The water is dirty and I would not recommend to swim in the ocean. Outside the hotel its very dirty and you will see a lot of trash in the streets. It is also very few good resturants around the hotel, and we had to take a taxi most days. I would also like to add that a few items «dissapered» from our room (Airpods and jewellery). We notified the staff but they didn’t take us seriously. If you are planing a trip to albania i would not recommend durres. We stayed for two weeks and regretted not going to Sarande

Palace Hotel offered a truly regal and splendid stay. From the moment I arrived, the grandeur of the architecture and exquisite decor left me in awe. The rooms were luxurious, providing a peaceful retreat, and the dining options were exceptional. The impeccable service from the attentive staff made me feel like royalty. With its convenient location and unparalleled elegance, Palace Hotel is an excellent choice for a memorable and indulgent experience.

    - Nice experience but could be better in a 5 stars hotel. It’s a really nice place to enjoy your vacation in albania. It’s really amazing looking from the beach, it seems like a resort in a exotic place.

Very nice place , quite & relaxing. Room big, service good, restaurant excellent. It’s true sometimes the music on the pool is to loud .. but it’s summer , Saturday vibes… Pool and Spa are cleaned … just a note on breakfast, I hope in some rotation, I’m 5 days it was all the same .. good but later boring .

The staff are friendly. The property is gr8. Needed a little modernisation but it is very nice. The beach is full of services, drinks, snacks, etc. The water color is not the best in the world but it is not shallow even after a long walk. The gym and SPA are not the biggest but it is good to keep us fit during our holiday. In general, nice place to stay in, enjoying it very much. The food in the restaurant is best quality, but the selection is not huge.
