Awesome traditional food restaurant, probably the best one we tried in Tirana. Perfect either for couples or family. The interior decoration is elegant and cozy, and the food is simply delicious and full of flavor. The portions are big enough. The staff was very friendly, warm and attentive. The price was reasonable having into account the freshness of the ingredients and the quality of the final product. Overall, the quality of service was excellent. It was an unbeatable experience. I hope to return one day and try more of their awesome dishes.

We found this place on Google Maps and we were so lucky. The food is traditional, which is quite common in Albania, but here they really cook it when you order it and they do it delightfully. But that means that it takes a little time, so don't expect to be served as if it were a fast good. Actually, there are several dishes that you gotta preorder calling in advance. Check the menu in my pictures. There is also the phone number. The prices are also very good. Even though it is in a basement, it is very well decorated and is nice. The guy that served us was very nice and he spoke perfect English, which is handy if you are a tourist. I highly recommend it.

We recently visited and were blown away by the delicious traditional dishes we tried. The beef and cheese plate was savory and full of flavor, and the meatballs were cooked to perfection. The T-Bone steak was also a standout – juicy and cooked exactly how we asked for it. In addition to the great food, the personnel were extremely kind and accommodating. They made sure we had a great dining experience and were happy to answer any questions we had. Overall, we highly recommend for their delicious traditional dishes and excellent service. We will definitely be back to try more items on their menu.

I was around the area and stumbled upon this restaurant. The ambiance is nice. The menu looks interesting. I wanted quail but wasn't in season. We had Qofte (meatballs) & it was delicious. My friend really liked the ambiance and the food of this place. The waitor is friendly. Service was really attentive.

The food here is delicious. We just arrived to Tirana and wanted to try Albanian food. This spot did not disappoint. The salad was very fresh. Everything was very tasty and we would highly recommend to anyone who visits. Our server was also incredibly nice and gave us good recommendations. We will definitely return in the future to try out more of what they offer. Ambiance was excellent too.

I recommend without hesitation and with so much pleasure an oasis where the taste, the display of dishes, and the service, meet and exceed all expectations. Loyal to the secrets of authentic recipes, combined with the excellent skills and passion of the excellent service make "Shije Fshati" (Taste of countryside) a corner, absolutely not to be missed during your visit or stay in Tirana. Enjoy it.

Me and my partner came here twice during our stay in Tirana. Everything was amazing from start to finish. Andi, the waiter, spoke fantastic English. He was super friendly, knowledgeable and a delight to talk to. Alina, the chef certainly knows how to cook delicious, authentic Albanian food. Every dish was fantastic. The portions were massive and each one cooked to perfection. First night we had lamb ribs, earthenware casserole, fries and brown cheese croquettes. I had 2 glasses of lovely white wine and he had 2 beers. Complete with water and 2 rakis, the bill came to 3100 (approx Β£22) The next night we had T-bone steak with the village salad and meatballs and chips. We squeezed in a dessert which was creamy and so moreish. The food with 3 wines, 3 beers, water and 2 rakis came to 4050 (approx Β£29) Great value restaurant in a basement which is light, airy and a blessed respite from the heat outside. Highly recommended! Best restaurant we tried in Tirana. Thank you Andi and Alina

Food is so delicious and the service was great. This was our first meal in Tirana and we highly recommend if you are looking for a traditional Albanian meal, with a homey feeling (and not overrun with tourists. Yet!)

The restaurant is located underground, but is well-lit, clean and pleasant to be in. The food was indeed fantastic! I had casserole (500 ALL), soup of the day (300 ALL) and byrek with tomatoes (forgot the price). Each of these dishes was excellent! My friend had minced meat kΓΆfte and these were not the best I would say, a bit too dry. Overall, we enjoyed it a lot and would come back.

Service was outstanding, food was delicious and it’s all quite reasonably priced. Dishes are all quite typical Albanian and really liked the amount of salad options here. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area. Also the dark Tirana beer goes down a treat.

The place was great as the same way the hospitality from the staff. I little disappointed with the Yogurt sauce (or maybe I was expecting a different taste) I loved the chips, were so delicious. They accept card btw, a good point for Albania.

Just a few steps down an alley then downstairs to this tucked away paradise of Traditional Albanian Food. Great prices too. They speak English well and provide great recommendations. I just went with what the waiter suggested and that was a wise choice as the food and service was excellent.

Just left this restaurant and it has seriously been the best restaurant experience in Tirana. The waiter was very friendly and always smiling, prices was very accessible and the quality of the food was incredible (soup was extraordinary - cheers to the chef). I left with a great mood. I seriously believe it's on the way to become of the best restaurants in the city. I sincerely wish you best of luck πŸ‘πŸ» πŸ‘πŸ» πŸ‘πŸ»

Best food we had in Tirana! Vibey location, tasty food, good value for money. And the friendliest service on top! Would always come back here and recommend this place for everyone visiting Tirana. Highlight was the Zucchini fried in beer batter.

Just had a lovely meal here. The place has a very homely, relaxed and welcoming vibe to it. My wife and kids are vegetarian and there was plenty of choice available on the menu. It’s very reasonably priced too. I’d strongly recommend eating here for local Albania food. Thanks

Delicious Albanian food. Everything is amazingly taste, would highly recommend if you are looking for some traditional food, as a vegetarian I really enjoyed. Would highly recommend the cheese and peppers and the corn bread with milk. Heaven 😍 The atmosphere is pretty and they are very nice and kind. Also accept credit cards!! But you probably have to book a table before and if you wanna some kind of food that takes longer you have to order in advance, otherwise they can’t do it.

Cute little place hidden in an alley. The waiter greeted me (in English) and was very kind and polite, even if I was alone and only ordered rice and chicken (it was a first meal after beeing sick and not being able to eat much). I couldn't finish it and before I even asked, I was offered to get a bag to bring the rest. I wish I could have tested more foods on the menu, but I felt very welcomed and would gladly go back!

I like this place because it is comfortable, simple, has great service and food for my taste. Prices are very reasonable for this part of Tirana. They have a simple menu list where you can see pictures of what you want to order. Ideal if you work in Tirana, so you don't cook at home.

Restaurant with local food with a very nice ambient. Be prepared that there is a big list of items that you need to preorder from 40min to 2hours. However, they did have Burek available even though it is also a pre-order dish of 40min. Burek was super tasty. The casserole was ok, but you would need either bread or side dish for it ideally, as it has a lot of sause. The waiters are very professional, polite, friendly and speak very good English. They accept card payments. Ambient is nice and reminds of a local village, but it felt like only tourists were in this place, who like us found this place from TripAdvisor.

Food was good. I rate is 4 because portion was quite small. If I did not order additional salad, I would be still hungry after eating my portion of meatballs. Personally I prefer to pay a bit more but to make sure that portion is enough to make me full and happy. And I am not saying about meat but garnish (more fries or salad would be nice to have). Climate - nice but would be nicer with balkaneese music (there was kind of neutral music in the background). General rate I decrease to 3 because I am dissatisfied about how I was treated by stuff. When I entered with my fiance we observed that one part of room was very crowded and another more deserted (but not fully empty). It was my last night in Tirana and I wanted to spend nice and romantic evening with my fiance. I asked staff to sit in the less crowded part of room but I was informed it is not possible because all tables are booked, so we were seated at the table we did not liked. 5 minutes later two another, different couples came to restaurant. I heard as they spoke to waiter that they have no reservation and they were seated at the tables we wanted to sit. I do not understand why staff lied. Answear to restaurant: I kindly recommend you a little humbleness. I believe google opinions should be taken as feedback to keep improving but I have feeling that you perceive it as attack and I find your reply as aggressive. But coming back to the point: 1) I did not have reservation in any restaurant I visited in Albania and only in your restaurant I was not allowed to sit at empty table I wanted. And your staff did not inform me about seating rule you describe. Instead they told me that all tables were reserved. It was lie. 2) I am sorry to say but this is not true that I am the first person complaining about size of portion. I see it mentioned several times when I review google opinion under your profile. 3) I wrote opinion next day after visit at restaurant. It is constructive opinion and I have no idea why you think I am driven by emotions. I think your reply is driven by them - what is visible on the capital letters you use. So far I thought your restaurant was quite nice place with some corrections to be made. My rate was 3, not 1. But I am afraid that with such attitude you demonstrate I changed my mind. I am discouraged to revisit you or recommend to anyone. All is perfect until you hear any criticism. Please respect your clients.

Authentic Village Dining Experience I've had the pleasure of dining at Shiji Fshat on four different occasions during my stay in Tirana, and I can confidently say that this restaurant is a true hidden gem. Food: β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… Shiji Fshat offers a delightful selection of dishes that capture the essence of Albanian village cooking. The flavors are authentic and the ingredients taste fresh and carefully chosen. Every dish feels like a cherished family recipe, and the love and care put into the preparation are evident. From hearty stews to succulent grills, the food never disappoints. Service: β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… The service at Shiji Fshat is exceptional. The staff is incredibly attentive, and during my visits, our waiter even remembered our previous conversations from a visit nearly three months prior. This personalized touch made us feel like valued guests and added to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Opening Hours: β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜† It's worth noting that Shiji Fshat strictly opens at 12:00 sharp, and they don't serve anyone before that time. While this may require a bit of patience, the quality of the food and the outstanding service more than make up for any wait. In summary, Shiji Fshat is a must-visit when you're in Tirana. It offers a truly authentic Albanian village dining experience that feels like a homecoming. The food is exceptional, the service is outstanding, and the personal touch from the staff makes every visit memorable. If you're seeking genuine Albanian flavors in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, don't miss Shiji Fshatβ€”it's a culinary experience you won't soon forget.

During our stay in Tirana, we spontaneously decided to visit "Shije Fshati" and were not disappointed. The restaurant shines with excellent traditional cuisine and very good service. It is cooked fresh, which can lead to longer waiting times for some dishes (shown on the menu). We can absolutely recommend "shellire with buke misri" as a small appetizer, a very good taste experience based on corn bread. The price-performance ratio is simply unbeatable, the three of us ate our fill for EUR 27. With our next Tirana visit gladly again!!!

We loved the stairs leading down underground to the restaurant. It felt secretive and hidden! As other said once you get inside it is cozy and comfortable, with a lovely mood. We stopped here after a long day seeing the sights. It is a great place to go after seeing the Square, or if you are hopping off the bus stop in the Square from the Dajti Ekspres like we were. A 5 minute walk. The service was great, and the food was excellent. We were talked through several options on the menu and what they were like. We felt we could make a good decision based on our waiters great English, and careful explaining of many typical Albanian dishes on the menu. Would highly recommend.

If they can make the preparation time on the menu which display on the street will be good. When we came, the waiter told us the food we want need to wait for two hours, unfortunately we didn't have that much time so we only ordered some small dishes, fried zucchini was ok, but the beef was dry. The service was good.

The food was very basic, I was expecting something more interesting. the restaurant is situated underground (has air conditioning though), so not really cute. Prices average. Not the best Albanian experience

We’ve been keen to try as much traditional Albanian food as possible on our visit (there is a surprising amount of Italian and Greek food here). Positive reviews led us here, but overall we were disappointed in the meal we ordered. We ordered two appetizers: fried zucchini and fried cheese. The fries cheese was delicious, while the fried zucchini was limp and not particularly tasty. We tried to order a Chef Salad but they didn’t have that so we settled for a Village Salad. We’ve eaten a lot of Greek Salad in Albania in our first month here, and this one was just OK. The vegetables were fresh and tasty, but there was no β€œpop” to the dressing, there was no feta cheese and the olives were mediocre. We were excited for our main dish. We ordered Village Chicken, a traditional dish we’ve been very keen to try. Unfortunately what arrived at our table was over-cooked. All the white meat pieces were dry and tasteless (save for the spices on the skin). Even the dark meat pieces were quite dry and lacking flavour - and that’s hard to do! The space is very nice, and our server was friendly, but on our visit the food quality was not what we’ve come to expect in Albania. We’ve had many meals for the 3,000L bill that were much better.
