Lovely place worth finding. They have a museum under the main dome, which is interesting although the majority of explanation is in Albanian.

It takes about 40 minutes to walk from Tirana center. On your way back, you can return to the square by taking the bus from the street nearby. They ask for ID at the entrance. They take your passport and record it in the book. It's a very peaceful place. The Quran is read in the building close to the entrance. It can also be heard in shrines. A must visit if you come to Tirana.

The Bektashi World Centre in the north-eastern suburbs of Tirana features a vast and impressive tekke (teqe) with a fascinating museum in the basement and a small gift shop where visitors can buy various Bektashi-related souvenirs. The Teqe is adorned from top to bottom with marbled mosaics in the most breath-taking array of colours and patterns. The Bektashi Order is a dervish sect that fuses elements of predominantly Shia and Sufi thought into a unique blend of Islamic belief and philosophy. The Bektashi order was banned throughout the Ottoman Empire by Sultan Mahmud II in 1826. This decision was supported by the Sunni religious elite as well as the leaders of other, more orthodox, Sufi orders. Bektashi tekkes were closed and their dervishes were exiled. Consequently, the Bektashi leadership moved to Albania and established their headquarters in the city of Tirana. Among the most famous followers of Bektashi Sufism in the 19th century Balkans were Ali Pasha and Naim Frashëri.

(Translated by Google) Bektashism was founded by Haxhi Bektash Veliu in the 13th century. The world headquarters of Bektashism moved from Anatolia to Tirana in the autumn of 1925, when the Turkish government with a special decision closed the tekkes. In Albania, the Bektashi World Headquarters established an independent community recognized by others, which existed until 1967. On January 27, 1991 and onwards, the Bektashi World Headquarters is based in Tirana.

Amazing place with a beautiful garden. Feels like it is overlooked for how beautiful of a place it is. No English is spoken or signs with explanation available, but everyone was very nice. Free ample parking is available.

We travelled all the way there to be unable to enter the temple or the museum without any explanation other that one of the security guards (young, scary) didnt allow us in. Despite supposedly being “always open” clearly not the case. We were able to enter the complex but none of the actual buildings. It was 11am on a Thursday which seems a fairly reasonable time, we are extremely respectful, it was only two of us, a married couple and modestly dressed.

A wonderful place for prayer or meditation, impregnated with a deep feeling of spirituality. The personnel extremely friendly. One will feel here welcome and in a kind of communion with everyone. Splendid architecture, extremely clean and well attended, beautiful views to the mountains.

I feel bad leaving a negative review for what is an extremely sacred place for many people, but I feel it's useful for future visitors to know: after walking an hour or I get there, nothing was actually open, and although I was allowed to enter the grounds, all the buildings were closed and I was followed around the place by a security guard like I was a criminal. This was even after they had kept my ID at the gate. Come on guys, where is the hospitality that Islam is famous for? It's a shame to treat respectful guests this way...

A quiet and peaceful place to explore. P.S.: I was asked to provide an ID to get in. Unfortunately, as this was not expected, someone had to escort me to show me around. However, it turns out to be a very nice human being. Free admission.
