Visited vayalur temple today. Actually it is a temple dedicated to Lord shiva and as usual shiva temple, while coming around the prakaram we can see murugan shrine. Here Lord Murugan is famous because this is the place where saint arunagirinathar started to sing Thiruppugazh. Small temple but believed to be very powerful by locals. Temple is under renovation works.

Vayalur Murugan Temple is located 11 kms from Trichy. The Temple is built Cholas during the 9th century. The presiding deity is Shiva on the form of Aadinayhar and his consort Aadinayagi. The five tired Rajagopuram is a modern addition. Arunagirinathar, a noted Tamil poet, visited Vayalur and sung 18 songs praising about Murugan in Thirupugal. The practice of adopting children with dosha is followed here. This is a peaceful Temple. We can find green paddy fields on both the sides on the way to Vayalur. We can have positive vibrations here. There is a separate sannithi fot Thiru Muruga Kirubanandha Variyar, who praises Vayalur Murugan in all his discourses. He is very much instrumental in constructing the Rajagopuram.

A very popular Murugan temple. The main deity is Shiv but temple is very famous for Murugan who is present in his regular sannidhi behind main garbhagriha in first prakaram. The sannidhi is especially bedecked in golden cladding.

Arulmigu Subramanya Swāmi Temple, Vayalur, Trichy 05.7.2023 Vayalur is located nine kilometers west of Tiruchy. On the way we come across Uyyakkondan Hill, Somarasan Pettai. Vayalur is also known as Kumāra Vayalur, Adi Vayalur, Vanni Vayalur and Agnishwaram. Lord Muruga blessed the Saint Poet Arunagiri Nathar at Vayalur and initiated him to compose Tirupugal. Arunagirināthar wrote 18 verses (910-927) on Vayalur in the famous Tiruppukal. Lord Natarajar is in the Sadura Danda pose in this temple. Lord Siva enShrined in this temple is called Agnishwarar. In front of the temple we find a beautiful pond and this is called Sakti Tirtham. This is believed to have been created by the Sūlāyudham of Lord Muruga. Sthala vriksham - Vanni Maram. Behind the Shrine of Sri Adhinathar Swami we find the main Shrine of Lord Subramanya Swāmi with His two Divine consorts SriValli and Sri Deyvanai seated on the peacock. The temple is under renovation causing lots of troubles and inconvenience to all divotees. Floor is yet to be laid and the protruding stones are sharp and causing injuries to the foot. Either should have been laid a pathway or covered with thick plywood instead of Floor mats. Beggers are large in number, and the same to be controlled by the Authorities

Temple with beautiful architecture (build centuries ago). Can have a glimpse on temple ceiling (while we are inside the temple), so that you would not miss the historical, spiritual paintings on top there. Pictures speaks the historical of Hinduism. Blessed to get Shiva Lingam's dharchanai. Felt calm. please be careful with bats. Best time to visit should be on non-occasional month so can have peaceful dharchanai. Less crowded on 24thMarch2022@7pm

One of the oldest Murugan temple it seems nearly 1200 years old. The presiding deity is Lord Shiva in the name of Aadhinathar & his consort Aadhinayagi, but the temple is famous for Lord Murugan. Though reconstruction work going on, temple is peaceful and divine to have dharsan. Located interiorly, so better to visit with your own vehicle Closed between 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Plan accordingly.

I recently visited a Trichy, Vayalur murugan temple that was built around 1200 years ago during the reign of Cholas. Situated near the Uyyakondan river. The gopuram of the temple was connected by the Hindu savant, Kirupanandha Variyar. The temple is dedicated to Lord Muruga and the main deity is located behind the Moolavar Shiva Sannithy. The peaceful atmosphere and rich cultural heritage left me spellbound. The staff were helpful and the temple is well-maintained. I would highly recommend visiting this Trichy, vayalur Murugan temple to anyone interested in exploring the rich cultural heritage of India and seeking spiritual solace.

The temple is in a rural location just amout 8 kms from Uraiyur, Trichy. All Navagrahas here face Suriyan in centre (with consorts Shri Sayadevi and Shri Samyadevi).

One of the ancient temple which is built in 9th century. It’s a must visit temple if you go via trichi, route will be like complicated and very small roads and tuff to travel for few kilometres. Temple is under renovation for now! Timings are from morning to noon and 12.30 to 4.30 it remains closed. Parking in the temple is only little space and the person giving parking ticket here is a cheater, he will give 1 month old ticket with different car number and claim money from us, while returning he will collect the parking ticket from us and give the same ticket to some one 😂 so be aware!

A powerful place of worship of Sri Subramanya Swami or Murugan. The famous Saint composer Arunagirinathar has sung a lot of Thirupugazh in praise of the deity Murugan here. This was the place where the Saint was first blessed by the deity to sing his Thirupugazh, a master poetic work with wide range of very complicated meters made in beautiful Tamil. We can feel a deep tranquility on entering the shrine. The maintenance of the temple needs to be improved.

Situated about 20kms from Trichy city, this temple has a good parking facility around the walls of the temple. You get to buy freshly plucked country veggies around the temple vicinity especially near the entrances. The main diety is relatively smaller in size and there are 2 rows for darshan. The line that is farthest move much faster. The speciality is all the planets face the Sun instead of looking at different direction we generally see in navagraha sannidhanams.

This temple is located in the small village of Vayalur. One has to take a detour from the Karur - Trichy highway just before a place called Jiyapuram. The drive after that is absolutely scenic in the middle of paddy fields and banana plantations. Unlike most other temples this opens quite early in the afternoons. It opens by 3.30 itself. It is here that the sage Arunagirinathar sung his wonderful compositions as an outpour of emotions and bhakthi. This temple also became very famous because of the tireless efforts of Kirupanandha Variyar Swamigal. One has to go in a Q to have darshan of the small deity in the main sanctum. However there is a small place where one can stand behind the Q and watch the darshan without being too much disturbed. A very big temple and well kept. This temple is said to have been the place where Lord Muruga did Pooja for his parents. Ample parking is available in and around the temple. The temple tank is outside the temple main entrance and is not maintained well. There is also a Lord Nataraja statue where he dances in a different posture.

Always the most unique divine spiritual temple of Murugan. Where the good and positive vibrations are more to experience. A peaceful environment with all the gods and goddesses . Navagrahas with their wifes is the special thing to view .. Nearer places to visit are Sai Baba temple , kelavalalur.. jeevasamathi of 2 chitthar gurus are also on the way to vayalur... God gives all the devotees they needed with love and blessings.. Thanks

Neglected... needs due attention Has significant events attached to this Muruga temple. Development is overdue. Good surroundings will help it become the most visited place again. People and authorities should take extra interest.

Very poorly maintained surroundings. For the amount of offerings given by the pilgrims, the temple authorities should be generous enough to maintain the temple and its surroundings clean for the benefit of the pilgrims. Awesome temple with a rich history. Absolutely no shade for parking cars and bikes. but in spite of all this, a must visit temple for all pilgrims.

Old temple of Lord murugan. Tickets should be bought for all sorts of dharshans. Weddings too happen over here. Priests over here are strict on usage of mobile phones near main deity, so watch out. Great parking space for both 2 & 4 wheelers. Hope they could maintain the temple pond in a cleaner way.
