The interior of the hotel looks really ancient , good that they've maintained it like this. We have to take a coupon at first before sitting at the table(only for meals), there is no order taking for meals.. An ordinary meal for 100rs.

Got the special thali, with the paratha as well. The service was excellent, even tho we didn't speak Tamil a Maharashtrian server explained all the dishes to us. Rasam was delicious. Must do in Thanjavur. It's smack opp the bus stand, has a hand wash, but no restroom, is a mithai shop as well.

I visited Thanjavur for the first time. Thought some hotels will be there at the old bus stand. The Ariya Bhavan didn’t disappoint me. The food is very tasty and traditional. The ambience is perfect for a good meal. All the curries including the sweet served with the meal was delicious. No wonder it will be serving another 100 years. Staff is nice and prices are reasonable. Only road side parking available.

It was difficult to find the place initially, once you are in go inside for the dining in heritage side of the restaurant. It has a good seating in a setup of old house. Service was very prompt and good. Taste was authentic on regional cuisines. Even we tried the fried rice and it was tasting good. Their special menu items will be always good. Menu can be with more authentic food items and can be more value for money.

This is a more than 100 year old Hotel located in Thanjavur right on the main road within 1km from the Big Temple. If you are staying in Thanjavur you can go to this place for Lunch , dinner and breakfast. The Ambience is calm and service is quick. If you are going in the evening do go to the old service place which has an antique appearance. They also have a huge range of sweets and savouries. Food here is homely, simple , delicious and touches your soul. Do try their Elneer halwa made of tender coconut pulp is awesome. Give it a try. Stewards here are courteous and tend to your needs. They have a clean washroom and clean hand wash area.

One of the oldest eatery restaurants in Thanjavur, the much I say is less about the ambiance and the food quality and service.If have a chance to be there don’t miss it, you will not regret it.There is a positive animation and smiling & helping staff so are the servers.It’s not expensive and it’s not far from the main temple of Thanjavur and the city bus stand.

The ambience is pretty good reflecting the cultural heritage of Thanjavur through paintings and old photos. Service is quick and the food is tastier. I find the bathrooms are very bad, not well maintained. Else it is easily a five star from me.

If you're coming from a city, it's best to avoid this place. You have poori w/o kurma, dosa without chutney, missed orders etc etc.. Bangaloreans Just avoid.

Had a sumptuous dinner tonight at Sree Ariya Bhavan. What did we order? Malli Idlis Parotta Butter Naan & Paneer Masala Ghee roast Coffee Badam Kheer Dishes were really tasty. Service was prompt. Though there was heavy crowd, our food was served real fast. Each of the main dish were given 2/3 varieties of chutneys with Sambar. Hot water is served. As a Pongal special, we were served Chocolate Pongal. Taste was out of the world. Try this hotel if you’re visiting Thanjavur. You would thank me later :)

Disclaimer: didn't eat here but it's very crowded which could be for 2 reasons - good good or/it's opposite the busstand. Our first time in Tanjore and we went by suggestions on Google and this restaurant was on top of the list! We didn't eat here because we couldn't get a place to park, the place was over crowded and therefore risky during covid times and you're lucky if you could get to sit together even as a family of 4. Awesome food, I came in thinking I should have a dosa, but the waiting staff suggested the Thanjavur meals as a very good deal with the local favorites etc. so to make my tourist experience more rounded I choose the meals. Lot of different items they tasted good, the photo I took does not have the naan and papad, since there is no way to show all of it in one picture. The naan , yellow more , elneer halwa and curd were all deserving extra mention as exceptional. Ambience was good for the rs 325 per plate price, it is not an high end luxury restaurant but definitely worth it and good veg food.

An good old hotel. Renovated to new atmosphere with improved dish varieties. But the service is slow. Have to wait for some time for take away and also for table service. Some dishes are brought from another new branch as the main kitchen was shifted there, Named as Dhivyam with a new logo. Food is tasty, bit costly. No parking as it is located near the old bus stand

Very delicious food. A typical meal costs only 114 rupees. And we had a substantial meal that cost 300 rupees. Although you cannot eat that much, the food is all delicious. You may not be able to eat everything when there are too many options. You won't sense the atmosphere in the place from the outside because it is too good inside.

The best food that one can have in that whole region :) It is sometimes even worth going to Tanjavur just to have food here.

The renovated Sree Ariya Bhavan serves very tasty quality food. Recently I had a lunch. It's not costly. I can say it's cheap but in terms of cost only not in quality. Because I had similar meals in other hotels in this same Thanjavur. I have ordered meals for that I got plenty of side dishes and all were very tasty. And their service was very good. Its another plus is, it's situated nearby Old Bus Stand. So people can easily have a quick meal here.

Erstwhile south indian place near the old bus stand in Thanjavur. They serve staple south indian fare, but have managed to perfect the taste of the dishes they serve. They also serve some north indian and chinese dishes, which are heavily south-indianised. The service is prompt and good. The Asoka Halwa here is a must try.

After reading a lot about this restaurant on trip advisor, decided to visit this place on my last day at tanjavore. Order : garlic naan, paneer butter Masala, parota curry, paneer pulao, onion dosa,coffee The garlic naan (1) and paneer butter Masala (2 small bowls) were part of a combo meal; the garlic naan had small pieces of garlic embedded which was different from the regular variant where small pieces of garlic are spread on the bread; the large pieces had a slightly more over powering effect which was not to my liking.The paneer butter Masala was good though, although a bit more on the 'Masala side'. Overall I would recommend the plain naan combo. The onion dosa served with 4 kinds of chutney and sambar was good; lots of onion and specially made authentic chutney including mint and coconut. The paneer pulao was slightly sweet , with generous serving of paneer. A quality dish To finish off, parota curry (2 coin parotas) served with Channa curry and sagu; not too heavy and just enough to fill the remaining space in the belly.
