I have been visiting this temple for years! I used to climb up the hill thru steps with my cousins and was waiting to make the road to the hill. After that hardly been thru waking and traveling up the hill thru a car and missing lot of fun while we used to walk. Another peaceful temple and environment. If you want to have good dharshan, get special ticket and get in. Common queue will move fast and hardly you can see the god statue as its dark inside the room. In common queue be careful while climbing on the platform which is made to see the god. Old people may have hard time! Stay there form sometime to feel the breeze and view from the hill which is so beautiful 😍

This is a very nice temple you can have Dharshan of Lord Ganesha, Lord Ardhanarishwar (Half Lord Shiva and half Parvathi Devi) Sengottuvelavar (Subramanya Swamy) and Aadikesava Perumal (Vishnu). Girivalam around the foot hills (7km) is a practise during the full moon days. Theertham (natural water body) at the foot steps of lord Ardhanarishwar Is famous and will be offered to devotees during Dharshan. Cars can go upto the hill temple and car parking is available. Early morning the clouds covered the temple and very nice weather on the top of the hill. Further to this temple by 30mins trek Ucchi Pillayar (Vinayaka) situated on the top of the mountain.

Very peaceful temple in the hills. You can go to the temple by bus or car or by bike. This temple is fully surrounded by beautiful nature and its an auspicious place. Its a very old temple, the main god is Arthanareeswarar ( Lord Shiva and Parvathi together ). The right side is Lord Shiva and left side Lord Parvathi Devi. The view point from this temple is fantastic. There are lots of monkey around the temple and the children will be very excited to visit this temple.

I recently visited the Arthanareeswarar Temple and it was thoroughly impressed by the beautiful architecture and peaceful atmosphere of the temple. The main shrine dedicated to Shiva combined with his consort Parvati was a sight to behold, with intricate carvings and stunning details. I also appreciated the cleanliness and maintenance of the temple grounds, as well as the helpful and friendly staff who were on hand to answer any questions and guide visitors. In addition to the main shrine, the temple also had several smaller shrines dedicated to various deities, as well as a large pond that added to the serene atmosphere of the place. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Arthanareeswarar Temple to anyone looking to experience the rich cultural and spiritual history of the region. It is a truly beautiful and peaceful place that is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Beautiful and unique temple because of the history attached to it. Going up the hill by road is not a problem on bike or car. The road is well maintained and there is parking space available on top. Visited last month, so the crowd was less during to Covid restrictions. Couldnt see around the temple as we had reached just before closing time (2pm), so we were lucky to get the darshan and do the necessary pujas. Priests there are helpful but they speak only in Tamil. Watch out for monkeys as there are plenty of them.

Awesome temple on the top of the hill, there are two things famous in this temple one is lord shiva-parvati another is lord murugan.the most guarded secret about this temple is in olden days it was part of Kerala and the lord Muruga statue which u see here is a replica of lord Palani murugan temple which is 100 kms away from this temple. And in lord shive-parvati chamber you have a natural spring, that water is given as theertam, one must drink that in order to get rid of any evil eyes and to gain good health.

Arulmigu Arthanareeswarar Mandir is a popular temple situated on a hill top in Thiruchengode city of Tamil Nadu is said to be about 2000 year old. Presiding deity is 6 feet tall of Shri Arthanareeswarar (right half is of Bahgwan Shri Mahadev and left half is of Mata Parvati). Mandir was renovated during the rules of Cholas, Pandyas and Nayak rules.

Visiting the temple dedicated to Lord arthanareeshwara was an awe-inspiring experience that gave me goosebumps. The serene atmosphere and the divine presence of the deity created an overwhelming sense of peace and spirituality. The intricate sculptures and the soothing chants added to the overall ambiance, making it a truly unforgettable visit. I highly recommend this temple to anyone seeking a profound connection with Lord.

Beautiful temple. Cars go till the hilltop. Moderate crowd but on festival and special occasions heavy crowd. Also go for special darshan. Special thing is god portrays gender equality, Lord Shiva and Devi Parvati together. Look for statues on the pillars and stone chain. Monkeys are there be careful. Road to the hilltop from foothills is nice and adventurous try in a bike.

One of the well maintained temples. Usually people visit here and book spots for marriage. In a single day, around 15 to 20 marriages are happening here. This way from bottom to top of the hill is awesome for view and the climate. I suggest you visit early in the morning, so that the view of sunrise will be awesome from the top of the hill.

About the temple, Sri Arthanāreeswarā temple, also known as Thirukodimāda Chenkundrūr, is an ancient Hindu temple, located in Tiruchengode, in the southern Indian state of tamil nadu. The temple is dedicated to Arthanadheeshwarar, a form of the Hindu deity shiva combined with his consort parvati. Also called as Madhorubagan and Ammaiyappan (mother-father). The famous Chenkottu Velavar Temple, dedicated to Lord murugan, is also situated on the same hill. Also, it is one of the shrines of the 275 paadal pettra sthalam praised in the Thevaram hymns of the Saivite saints. The sacred hill is about 650 ft. high, and a climb of 1156 steps leads worshippers to the temple at its peak. The hill is called 'Nagagiri' in the Thevaram hymns and is also known by many other names like Chemmalai, Panimalai, Nandimalai, Uragaverpu. The hill contains about 350 acres of land, which lies 2000 ft about sea level. Highly recommended to visit in the early morning.

Half Shiva, half Shakti temple on a scenic hill. Main sanctum reachable by walking behind the famous Sengottu Velavar (Murugan) shrine. Deity of Ardhanareeswarar is beautiful but it is quite dark there to discern the features. Most importantly, the sculptures on the pillars are really of breathtaking beauty

One of an ancient temple situated in the hill top. The name "Arthanareshwarar" is derived from the name Artha (Half), one half of statue is lord Shiva and another half is Maa Parvati (Shakthi), there is also Murugan (Karthikeya) shrine and other gods as usual. There are options to reach by walk through steps, options to reach by bus operated by the temple and we can also easily reach by private vehicle, there is an entry ticket to be paid. There are shops available in the hill to buy Pooja items and snacks and other eateries. There is Annathanam available at the particular time in lunch hours. Roads are good to reach on our own vehicle (car, van and bike also). The temple remain open during afternoon also. Wish you to have wonderful blessing.

Nice place to visit. Powerful Lord Shiva with Parvathi in this temple. Differnt names and sub temples of lord Shiva can be seen. Its unbelievable temple construction by our ancients at this height. Separate bus service from temple is available and operated in timely manner from Tiruchencode bus stand.

Perfect peaceful place in Tiruchengode. This place is considered to be 2000years old. Have your eye's on the temple statues - it will be great and detailed. You'll also get better natural views. Sunday's will receive more visitor here. You could also see cows and monkey's over here. Be cautious with monkey's when you carry any plastic bags. But the maintenance by the temple's management is non-sense. They just dump waste from the temple in the hill land itself. The waste includes plastic wrappers.😠.

This is one of my favourite temple. Ancient temple in an hillock. Drive upto hill is pleasant with view point. Temple is maintained well. Being ancient property it gives divine feeling. History behind temple talks about gender equality centuries back. In all would recommend visiting for divine experience.

An ancient temple with a nice view of the town. Well maintained and clean. Situated on top of the hill. Have a good road path to the temple.

  • 5/5 Sairam S. 1 year ago on Google
The temple is situated on the hillock which has two modes of reachability - climb 1100 odd steps or drive uphill to the temple. Very serene atmosphere and usually not crowded. If tou decide to climb the steps, start at 5 in the morning which is ideal. You can enjoy the peaceful nature of the surroundings. It's definitely a sight to see the view of the Tiruchengode town lit up during the ascent in the morning. The temple opens by 6 in the morning and you can reach by walk within one hour. Once you have the Darshan don't forget to ask the priest on the history of ardhanarishvara and chengottuvelavan.

On 06.07.2023 morning had dharshan of Lord Arthanareeshwer temple at Tiruchengode. Situated at the top of a hill one of the most beautiful temple having the best sculptures. The fronts mantap roof is having beautiful stone carvings. Ammaiyappar mantap on a tortoise is so nice to see. Those who are interested in architecture a must place to visit. The temple is maintained very neatly. Good approach road is there to reach the temple by vehicles. The temple is on the Namakkal to Erode NH at Tiruchengode very easily accessible. Had a very good experience. Here Lord Siva shared his body with Parvathi is giving Dhatshan as Arthanareeshwar and the deity is decorated with dhoty and saree with flowers and only face with 50 : 50 of Lord Siva and Parvathi is not visible due to darkness in karuvarai. Aarathi is also not helpful. Lighting problem is there. Also for Rs 25 dharshan lot of space is allowed and a small space allowed for free dharshan in the back which is violation of court guidelines. This discrimination to be avoided . Hope people concerned may do something.

Ancient temple with main deity Arthanareeswarar. Spring water below the deity foot is sacred and said to be equivalent to ganga water. A place full of energy. Located above a rocky hill and beautiful place to visit. Have road access for car. Good scenery. Good dining hotels not available above hill. Better have food at the plain. Lot of monkeys present, be careful with your belongings.

Nice place. The temple is spacious and a good place to visit with family. The place around the temple is also nice. Since it's a hill place , it's good for a small bike ride. Morning time is a beautiful view here. Buses are also available from the foot of the hill to the temple. Morning time before 8 is recommended since at the time there is no crowd and we can dharsan without too much waiting time.🙏

  • 5/5 vinodh n. 7 months ago on Google
A divine place with a beautiful view from the hilltop. The road leading to the temple from the foothill is a little steep. Please drive carefully and cautiously as it's the same road for the vehicles coming down too. There is a bus service to take you to the temple too . Please inquire about the timings. You can get a special darshan ticket to have a closer look at the deity. 🙏🏻

  • 5/5 Dr Jayabharathi T. 7 months ago on Google
Peaceful and serene vibes in the temple. Ancient temple with good maintainence Ample parking area on the hillock (they charge nominal fee at the foot-hill arch) The road leading to temple is also very well maintained with picturesque landscape of the town beneath. Marvelous stone carvings, with mesmerizing detailing to each & every aspect of the sculptures. If you want to notice and capture the splendid stone-art work, half or even 1 day wouldn't be enough. So much intricate detailing is depicted in many many sculptures. Lord Murugar (sengotuvelavar) and Main deity Arthanareeshwarar make one spell-bound with the Aura. If passing via Namakal, take a short trip of about 40 minutes drive to visit this amazing Ancient marvel. BLESSED 🙏 A bit of internet issues inside the main gopuram, but at times few network signals do give some access, so UPI or digital payments is possible outside the main temple only, at the place for keep-sake shopping. Even an eatery operates here, limited menu. Can try or carry food from highway restaurants (but keep them safely, as too many monkeys around, as per temple office regulations feeding them isn't/shouldn't be done) Still, worth every minute of your visit 🙂

Must visit and get the blessings of Arthanareeswaran. First you worship Murugan and Arthanareeswaran then Perumal. All of them are very close to each other. You should enter into the hill road before 5.30 pm as temple closes by 6 pm. The moolavar idol is very different as Siva is in the form of half women and half man. Left side was given to umaiyaval ( Parvathi). Careful while driving as the narrow hill road is steep and straight. Nice experience and you will love it. Get the blessings of Arthanareeswaran.
