The palace is well maintained and the weapons of the first freedom fighter of India, Pulithevar, are kept for public display. There is a 8ft statue in the premises and a lawn in the vicinity. As you enter the palace you will see the hand drawn pictures of the king. There is a library and a place where people get married inside the palace. There is a marriage hall attached to the palace which the locals use. Maintenance and upkeep is good, it's a small palace compared to many in the region but still you will feel proud of standing in the same place where the British Army lost to our ancestor king. Parking isn't a problem too.

It is a memorial for freedom fighter King Puli Thevar. It houses several inscriptions and paintings detailing his forefathers, parents, birth, service to temples in and around his kingdom, alliance with nearby polygar to fight company rule, refusal to pay royalty with British, wars with British, commanders(like Ondiveeran), kindness and ending.

They could have included image or drawings inside the hall.

The original name of this village is nelkattanseval that means maveeran pulithevar is not give the nel for British therefore in this village is called nelkattanseval.but the traditional name is Avudayapuram it is clearly displayed in old history. It is consist of the statue of meveern pulithever,kalyana mandapam,library, and also the traditional weapons are available.this is undertaking by the tamilnadu government but this government is not maintenance this palace.so it is slowly damaged.

Pulithevar is a first person of india freedom fighter. He wared with british near 17 years. But the castle is worst maintenance by the government and people of local. Very very few people knows about pulithevar history. Very irresponsible people is there.
