Sri Varatharaja Perumal temple is located near by thamirabarani river. Very peace and calm place. This is called as "Therkku Kanchi". This is also a "Sukra Sthalam". Best temple to pray for job, baby, business, marriage, study, health and more. God Hayagirivar also there in this temple.

Keezha Thiruvenkatanathapuram Temple was built in 12th Century A.D. A king who ruled Nellai in 14th Century came to the temple for pooja; but the priest was unavailable due to illness. THe Lord disguised as the priest came and did the pooja for the king saving the priest from punishment. So the Lord here is called: Vazha vaikum Perumal (The one who helps in our life). It is believd that Brighu Rishi installed the idol of Lord here.As Dhana regai(property line) runs in the hand of Perumal, it is believed that if a coin is placed in Lord's hand, it will multiply. Hence Lord here is called Dhana Regai Perumal. Must have darshan.
