5500 yes old temple where Azhwar meditated under a Tamarind tree which still maintained and worshiped by the people. This trees never closes its leaves in night time and the tamarind never rises completely , that is the fruit of this tree cannot be used. It’s was such a great feel to vist this temple . Azhwar is the main deity of this temple , and the statue was untouched by the sculpture . This status was taken from thanarabarani river. A must visit to this temple

Azhwar Thiru Nagari is the 9 th Temple in the Nava Thirupathi chain. It houses Aathinaathan as the central deity and the festive deity is Polinthunindra Piraan. This temple is related with planet Jupiter in the Horoscope. It has the tamarind tree under which Nammalvar meditated. Opens everyday 7.30am to 12pm and 5.30 to 8pm.

This Sri Adhinadha Perumal koil is very famous and one among 108 Vaishu Divadesams. Easily identifiable on the main road of Thiruchendur- Thirunelveli highway. Nammazhvar birth place - Avathara Sthalam. Inside the temple we can see the Tamarind Tree which is the actual penance place of Sri Nammazhvar. Very old tree (more than 5000 years). This tree has lots of miracles with itself, coz of Nammazhvar and 4000 Divya Prabhandam. Sri Ramar Sannadhi is very auspicious one. Good parking is available. Must visit place once you go to nearby places.

We didn't know about this temple before. As we crossed the town, we visited the temple. Wow, once we entered the temple, I felt such a divine feeling. Very wonderful temple. I heard the story of Nammazhvar in the holy tree there. We get goosebumps there. Everyone should never miss this Azhvarthirunagari temple.

A deeply spiritual experience, very welcoming temple especially for non-Hindus, who are allowed even in the inner sanctum. Located in a very traditional village worth exploring.

Very ancient Perumal temple in alwarthirunagari. They said they have 5000 years old holy tree. Very less crowded compared to nearby famous Tiruchendur lord muruga temple. In front of the temple is a nice agraharam which still is conserved of its cultural richness and authenticity They close the doors at 12:30 and reopen around 4 in the evening

One of the famous Navathirupathy temple (5), is simple elegant with outer praharams as if Srirangam, where people live. Very ancient temple (BC) and birth place of Nammazhwar. It has worship place (Karpagraham) for Azhwars also with vimanahas. An ancient Tamarind tree 2500 years and more old where Nammazhwar was remaining for decades as statue, is still there with 5 branches or numbers, whose leaves won't close at night and fruits won't ripe hence called ' Thoonga puli' and is astonishing.

Shri Adhinathaperumal temple in Azhwarthirunagari is perhaps the biggest of Navathirupathi temples. The Moolavar is large and majestic. Guru sthalam. Considered as birthplace of Nammazhvar, preeminent Vaishnava mystic, saint-poet. There is a huge very old tamarind tree inside with giant branches. As per legend Nammazhvar did long meditation and composed many pasurams in praise of Lord Vishnu under this tree. Temple is well maintained and is located about 23 kms from Trinelveli in Trichendur road.

One among the 9 Vishnu Temples known as Nava Thirupati. Perumals gather here once in a year during the Tamil month of Vaikasi just five days before Visakam. That gathering was completed with the grand Arthi to Namalwar.

Godess Alwar is the 9th nava thirupathi. There is an neem tree where we can see the little foot prints of the god. and there is "sworga wasal" and many more god and ancient sculputers, and there is 3 thear தேர் for the temple . one in front of arch, one in middle or in entrance, another in back of temple. All and many functions are conducted grantly. One day is not enough to visit, that much large temple.🙏ஓம்!

One has to take private vehicle for seeing Nava Tirupathi. Can't rely on public transportation. Those who wish crowdless, clean, noiseless, peaceful and remote worshipping place, such temples are the one they have to choose. Marvelous sculptures exemplifies the South Indian culture, Vaishnavite traditions and the care those people took to build such temples. Devotional mood catches up instantaneously on just entering the temple. Must visit place.
