Temple
is
located
on
the
banks
of
Karuna
River
in
Sivasailam,
west
of
Azhwarkurich.
The
temple
is
situated
in
such
a
way
that
Swami,
Ambalum,
who
is
seated
towards
the
west,
gives
a
view
to
Atri
Maharishi
at
Atrimalai.
Upon
entering
the
temple,
Lord
Nandi
is
sitting
comfortably
facing
east.
History
says
that
the
Nandi
of
the
temple
was
designed
by
Mayan,
the
master
of
sculpture.
Because
the
sculpture
is
so
realistic
in
its
sculpting,
Nandi
any
Lord
Idol
comes
to
life.
It
is
said
that
the
position
was
reached
and

the
back
of
the
Nandi
statue
and
the
sculptor
was
asked
to
do
so.

is

Lord
Nandi

is

sitting
on
his
right
leg
and

up.

held
by

Chavadi
Ayan
Chidambarampillai
Kudumbam
for
the
last
123
years.
Natiya
Deeparathana
takes
place
on
Nandikalapa
Vaibhava.
The
day
before

of
maakapu.

Nandhikalapam

(Saturday)

and
the
