Wide variety of Old (vintage) Cars are available. Definitely we need more than 4 hours to see all the cars. Few Working models are available to explain the working principle of engine and gear mechanism. Truly inspiring. Sad thing is there is no car parking available. Even if we leave the car outside in the road, you will get parking ticket as the whole road is ear marked as No Parking. The security doesn't guide properly.

It didn't had a vast area...But gave a nice experience of the history of cars. They had many vintage cars and cars that I have seen only in movies. It may not cost you more than 1hour. So it's definitely worth for 1 hour. They also had the intresting information about the cars. The first models of nowadays premium sector car companies could be seen there. The evolution of cars was the real thing to observe !

One of the best car museums in India. The place is well maintained and displays a wide variety of automobiles from all the eras. The museum exhibits are neatly labelled with facts and histories marked properly. It will take around an hour to properly see this place, will take 20min if you just want to walk by and just see the automobiles. Photography is allowed, but you cannot touch any of the cars. Car parking available.

There is a saying that GD Naidu is the Nicola Tesla of India (not Edison) and this museum is a perfect tribute for that saying. The museum provides immense knowledge about the history of cars and its evolution. They got lots of vintage cars and even replicas of many. For auto enthusiasts, it's a must visit if you are in Coimbatore. Had adequate parking space, and staff behaved well and provided good information whenever questioned. The entry fee is just Rs. 75 per head for an adult.

Lovely museum to see the history of cars. There's a wide range of antique cars here, and the information attached along are knowledgeable. There's a science museum too. Mostly has the legacy about GD Naidu and his contributions and inventions. This is absolutely informative and knowledgeable as well. A couple of science games to understand some concepts-kids would like them alot too. Neatly maintained place. There's entry fees for both the museums. And the place is closed on Mondays, so plan accordingly.

The must visit vintage cars and science museum in Coimbatore. You can definitely find lot of rare cars with detailed information and the history displayed in front of the cars. Not only cars you can also find vintage electronic items such as tv’s, cameras, radio, computers, typewriter etc neatly displayed. The entry ticket is very costly. They charged ₹430 for 2 adults and 1 kid ( Tuesday May 16, 2023 ) Photography is allowed. The staff were also very nice and guided us with everything. Well maintained. Loved it.

Nice place to visit. Tickets (125 rupees each). It is divided into two sections - one for cars in general and other for Indian cars. Well maintained historical cars are displayed in a neat and clean place. Students fond of cars must visit here. All in all, it is a great place for car enthusiasts. Highly recommended 👍

I visited Coimbatore with friends. This museum is best to show our kids to grown up the knowledge about science and creativity of human. There is 2 museum. 1) car museum: About 3 km from gandhi puram. Entry fee 75₹ for adult 25₹ for below age 13. Awesome cars with famous brands we can see there. They are allowing to take pictures of vehicles. Many types of vintage cars are available to see and this museum also maintained well. 2) science museum: Entry fee is 25₹ per each. Inside this museum you can see the development of each and every part which can be use in daily life. We can see here power of science. From 1900 decade to till development of many things is there. This two museum will help to increase your curiosity towards science.

The meticulous restoration efforts and informative displays made it an enriching experience for both enthusiasts and casual visitors. The museum's ambiance and well-curated exhibits make it a must-visit for anyone with an appreciation for classic automobiles.

GD Naidu Museum is probably one of the best car Museum we have ever seen in India. The collection was a treat for our eyes and soul. It created the much needed excitement and involvement in our kids. They were thrilled and also wanted to read and get educated about all the cars on display. The museum is very well maintained, extremely well planned and got mind blowing collection of cars. I would highly recommend this museum to anyone who loves cars. If you are visiting Coimbatore, please take a trip to this mysuem. You will come out smiling.

You have to pay twice in order to see the car museum and the science museum. Apart from that, the car museum is worth a visit and does showcase some truly antique cars which will surely uplift the mood of any car lover. The science museum is not that great and seems like very little effort was put into it.

A perfect visit for car lovers and enthusiasts. Great collections, perfectly maintained and neat premises. Ticket price seems to be little overpriced, but worth a watch. Photos can be taken without touching cars. Near to Car museum, science museum also exhibited with separate entry ticket. Dashboard briefs on modes. GD Naidu a perfect example for exemplary.

Wow, that became an awesome Sunday (25.09.22) for our family. 3 adults and 2 child's fare for both the museum was Rs. 380/-. We had a gala time overall. The car collections really amazed us and it was breathtaking. Most of the vintage car had Kerala registration. The outside campus was also neatly maintained and greenery too. The construction was also good with rest rooms for both men and women. Overall a good place to spend your weekend. Highly recommended!

All instructions were given clearly in both the Science and the Car Museums. The place was neat and organized well. We faced no problems in getting the entry ticket or navigating through the museum. You will have to submit your bags before you go; you will have to pay for them separately. There was a store inside the museum where you could get puzzles and toys including building towers, cars, and glass painting. Visit Duration: 1 hour

A must visit place for Car enthusiasts. Not only vintage cars but also this place will be a good experience for Science and Tech people. There is a huge collection of vintage cars and the history of our technological age. There are three sections available there. One is a Vintage car Museum, the other one is a science museum and a science practical area also. We need a separate ticket to enter each area. The science museum is a must visit place for kids and students to bud their passion and knowledge in tech. Great experience. No car parking available there.

Amazing place to go with your kids. Did not expect much at first but when entered there was really a variety of displays. Also there is a science museum next to this that is also expected to make you say wow. We get to get to even watch video explanations on the exhibits too ( though not for all but for relevant ones). I would recommend one to visit at least once.

Great museum both in terms of content as well as layout. Houses a great collection of vintage cars, which are original, restored or replicated. Each car is provided along with a description, and in some cases with audio visual content. The lighting setup is great. Also a part of the exhibits cover the basics of automobile like clutch, gears, steering, cooling assembly and engine as a whole, shown with cut out sections of components. The ticket costs 75 rupees, and the visit is really worth the time.

I had visited this Museum few years before and visited again few days back. Really surprised by their infra as well as the newly added collection of vehicles. And this time they had a whole new section on Indian vehicles as well, which was entirely new for my knowledge. And they had a whole lot of collections to their science museum as well. Perfect day for school students and automobile lovers.

The perfect place for Engine heads and automobile fanatics!! As a mechanical engineer, I wish our college took us to a place like this to understand cars and their internal workings. You can see cross sections of the engines, the transmission and how it changes gears, as well as fancy cars that were donated by people in India to the museum. You will also get insights onto how transportation came to what it is in India right now, through the years. I believe there is a science museum here as well, but we didn't visit that. There is also a store with a bunch of STEM related toys that will be perfect for your kids and could lead them to taking an interest in engineering. Definitely recommend visiting once, if you are ever near the Coimbatore airport.

One of the best (out if three) Car or Automotive museums in India. Great collection... Portrays the past and also great to study the engines and other parts of a car... Very well maintained, excellent!! I would suggest to expand the museum even more and have many more sections... There is space for that too... It surely has the capability to become one of the best automotive museums in the world!! The entry fee is on the higher end I would say... If expanded more, then it would be justified...

Gd museum is one of its kind. Though for people between 25 to 35 years of age, it may sound boring visiting this place. But I would recommend this place to visit once. Place like this in India is very less where you will get to see vintage cars that too owned by Indians and given to museum to showcase. Cars lover should definitely visit. 75 rs per head for adults is the entry fee. Will take an hour maximum to cover it.

This place is actually a car museum. Not like the other fake ones which has random things which has small engines. Most of the cars here are owned by Mr. G D Naidu and some of them are from different people as well. The collection mostly focuses on vintage cars and has a few modern ones. The museum is maintained very well and has posters of interesting stories around. Entry fee is Rs. 50. I hope the collection grows more. Best luck to the team.

It's one among the must visit places in coimbatore particularly for vintage lovers. Glad that i found this one. It has wide range of cars right from world first car (benz 18th) to early 20s. The car museum is well maintained with great lightings and contains photographs, history about the production(banners) , model and principle of the engine and lots more. The iconic Hanomag 1.3L, the rarest car in the world is kept in a preservation class condition which is the cherry on the top. This place is suitable for family as there are no restrictions to take photographs but it's a heaven for vintage cars lovers like me.

Beautifully curated collection. Well displayed with great lighting. Lots of history to be seen. And what amazes is the industrial vision and passion for automobiles, of Mr G D Naidu right from almost 75-80 years ago. This is an excellent Classic Museum and well worth visiting. A thoroughly enjoyable two and a half hours well spent there. Photos are allowed and this museum isnt crowded so one can take one’s time and study all the displays minutely.

A must visit for car enthusiasts. From vintage cars to some new cars as well is displayed. They have also given history of each model and brand. Happy to see lot of KL cars on display which says how much a petrolhead keralites are. At one side you will see huge American cars and opposite small European cars. Ticket costed 150 for 3 including a kid. The only negative is that they don’t have a parking space. Couldn’t believe that these guys who loves cars couldn’t provide parking for cars itself.

Unexpectedly an awesome place. Before visiting I was thinking about some museum with few old cars. But it's much more than that. It has a very large variety of classic cars which is a visual treat and also several other motor bikes. The other part of the story is scientific museum which you will get mesmerized with the items they have and exceptional maintenance. GD Naidu is a powerhouse scientist and invented several items which several are not aware of. It's a perfect place for kids as they have a lot to see and learn and remember. Dont miss this when you visit Coimbatore. It's Rs.100 per adult and Rs.50 for kids for both museum together. A must visit place and got for it!

An important place that everyone must visit. Neatly maintained place, opened on all days except on Mondays and public holidays. One can spend two decent hours at the Car museum and a nearby science museum. The car museum has got a good collection of cars from Rolls Royce to Austin and Ford to Volkswagen. It also hosts G.D. Stepping into the Gedee Car Museum feels like a sentimental journey through time, a stroll down the memory lane of automotive marvels. Each vintage car whispers stories of bygone eras, evoking a sense of nostalgia that tugs at the heartstrings. The museum's collection isn't just a display of vehicles; it's a living, breathing tribute to the craftsmanship and elegance of a bygone automotive era. As I wandered through the halls, the faded scent of leather and aged metal wraps you in a comforting embrace, transporting you to a time when each car has its own unique character and soul. The exhibits seem to echo with the laughter of families on road trips, the hum of engines on open highways, and the shared joy of simpler times. Every rusted hinge, every weathered dashboard, becomes a portal to the past, stirring emotions that transcend mere admiration. The Gedee Car Museum is not just a repository of cars; it's a sanctuary where memories and emotions converge, making it an experience that lingers in the heart long after you've left.

What to say about this place as seeing this place you will definitely feel proud on India as you will be able to find many things which were invented by Mr. Naidu and you will be able to find many scientific things which you can enjoy by viewing and by doing practicals and also you can see various products older models and versions such as calculators, Radios, TV and also much more. You will also be able to see your infrared image and also you can view yourself in different types of mirrors where your body shape gets a different look. And price for both Museum i.e. This Museum and car museum is ₹100 per person. So that ₹100 is a worth your pocket and you will definitely enjoy here. And talking about car museum you will be able to see many types of cars which we cannot imagine to see today. They have preserved these cars very good and I must say a must visit is required to see their collection

I have been to the Car museum, but couldn't make it to the science museum next to it, so the review is for the car museum alone. Inspiring place with some exquisite collection vintage cars. The place takes you thru the history of Automotives, with some very good technical facts, presented in a neat manner. GD Naidu's passion for science, and in particular on Automotives makes us feel awe ! He had a constant good relationship with the automotive companies worldwide, in particular the Germans. There is something of interest for everyone, be it a kid or adult. Must visit while you are in Coimbatore. One thing to be improved is the parking facility. There is ample space, but not covered, could be considered by the authorities !

Gedee Car Museum is one of the few places in India where one can find cars made in Britain, Japan, France, Germany and America under one roof. The collection of cars is exceptionally well maintained, and all the relevant information about the vehicles on display is mentioned for visitors to learn. It is, therefore, a favourite attraction for automobile freaks and engineering students. Along with the cars built internationally, there are a few Indian cars as well including the prototype of a low car designed by G.D.Naidu. The collection has antiques and some new and rare versions of automobiles Each machine on display is the outcome of utmost dedication and meticulous work of the engineers who spent months and even years to build those engineering marvels. Gedee Car Museum also has a team that works on restoring rare and antique automobiles depending on the availability of the components to get the cars back to their workable condition. Kids and adults both find this attraction worth a visit to learn about the beautiful, colourful and shiny cars from all over the world.

Evolution of Automobiles beyond Lands and Brands. A must go place in Coimbatore for any Car enthusiast - impressive collections. I had been to many automotive museums in Central Europe, and many of them focused on the evolution of Auto Industry, through a particular Auto maker. But, that way this Museum stands apart from the rest, as it focuses more on the "Evolution of Automobiles beyond Lands and Brands". I had been there recently, and was very much impressed with the huge collections, which they have on display. Most of them are vintage, and that gives an even-more excitement for a visit. They have on display, also a short brief about "Wheels", which is the basis for any form of transportation. Then on, a short insight into the Industrial revolution era and then the display of some of the rarest and eye-catching Automobiles. My favorites include, "Lady on the Wheels", Rolls-Royce, and some funky mini and mammoth cars. I have also attached some pictures below, have a look at them too.

Must-visit attraction in Coimbatore city A day well-spent appreciating the people, history and technology behind some of the most iconic cars that have marked the automobile era. Do plan to spend at least 4-5 hrs to do justice to both the car and science museums. My suggestion would be to visit the car museum first in order to maximize the time spent with its well-preserved beauties.

Great technological museum. Everyone who has chance should visit this place. To know history of Indian technology development and the paths we have crossed this is the best place. Especially take your kids here to tech them about various technologies we had. There are demo setups which explains how car gear and clutch works which you can operate and learn. There are 2 different museum. 1 for car which ticket cost is 100 per person and other was Technology museum which cost 40 per person. Its a worthy.

One of the best sight seeing destination in Coimbatore for kids. You will find very rare classic car collection with lot of history to read. You can spend a good 45 min - 1 hour in this place. You are allowed to take photos but should not touch any cars or go beyond security ropes. Owners of the classic cars are also mentioned, it seems either it was donated or purchased by Gedee Museum. The famous G D Naidu family owns this and they have a science museum as well. They have combo options to see car and science museum together, make your choice before buying the ticket. Once you buy, you cannot cancel or modify.

Gedee Car Museum is classic car museum of its kind in south India, located in Coimbatore, It has an impressive collection of more than 100 vintage cars. The cars are a private collection of G D Naidu Charities, several cars have unique mechanical features. The main objective of the museum is that students and the general public, who see these vintage beauties, learn about the technology.

Quite a unique attraction in coimbatore, alongside some science museums. It’s targeted mostly at students although the car museum would entertain most car enthusiasts. There’s a lot of text so it can get quite overwhelming, but the cars themselves are quite interesting.

  • 2/5 Abhishek K. 7 months ago on Google
Tickets are overpriced for the number of cars one gets to see. Honestly, Not enough cars to call it a car museum. The timings are also strange, it closes very early. Not sure why? As the city is generally hot during summers and people would prefer to visit the places in the evening. Pros: The place Portrays the story of car evolution from the very beginning. Cons: The staff was very rude, not corteous. The price of tickets is very high and not justified. The cars were limited even for a common person, let alone a car lover. The opening duration should be increased in evenings.

This museum is one of it's kind in India where under care of G D Naidu Charities under the name of Late Sri G D Naidu, who was a scientist, social reformer and entrepreneur and moreover an inventor. He died in 1974. There are two floors studded with the collection of vintage cars of the world with history and anecdotes. Well maintained and nice place to visit. Basement and ground are for foreign cars and 1st floor is for Indian cars. Ticket price is reasonable. One can buy combo tickets to visit science museums in addition. It takes 2 to 3 hours to visit.
