The temple performs regularly Maha Sudarshana Homa on Tiruvonam star days, Dhanvantri Homa and Hayagriva Homa on the appropriate days with chanting of Prapandha verses. Tamil Year day falling almost April 14, Karthika Deepam, Vaikunda Ekadasi, Hanuman Jayanthi are the festivals celebrated in the temple. Satyanarayana puja is performed on all Full Moon days. The Coconuts in its full form without stripping placed in the puja are taken by devotees to their homes for worship for relief from various problems they face in jobs, marriage talks, children etc. The 10 day Sri Rama Navami festival is the main event in the temple with lectures, Laksharchana, Sita-Rama Kalyana wedding festival. Special Tirumanjanam is offered to Lord Rama on the Rama Navami day with special Alankaras, nivedhanas followed by Lord’s procession at night. That Lord Rama and Sri Anjaneya appear together facing each other, is a feature in this temple only. With a view to unite all devotees belonging to the three important sects – Dwaida, Advaitha and Visishtathvaida philosophies, shrines for Lord Ganapathi and Sri Anjaneya were created.  The managing committee also built a lecture, fine arts hall for musical and dance performances.  This was inaugurated by His Holiness Sri Sri Abhinava Vidya Theertha Swamigal of Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetam.  A team was also set up by the devotees for the construction of a Raja Gopuram and Dwajasthamba. The foundation for these was laid on 3-2-2006.  For the purpose of the construction, the sanctum sanctorum was readjusted.  Lord Rama and Anjaneya are facing south.  A Navagraha shrine then came into being on the eastern side. Aesthetic sculptures adore the front frame of the sanctum sanctorum.  The silver covered doors are decorated with carvings of Mahalakshmi in Her eight forms.  The temple has a box of papers containing 13 crore Rama Namas. There are beautiful sculptures of Nruddha Ganapathy,Siddhi Buddhi Ganapathy, Bala Ganapathi, Punnaimara Krishnan, Dasavathara Rama, Yoga Rama, in the Prakara circle.  The lime mortar (Suddhai) sculptures of Adhi Sankara, Sri Ramanuja, Madhvacharya, Lord Shiva, Vinayaka, Aiyappa, Sri Rama Pattabishekam add additional beauty throughout the prakara.  The temple complex is an outstanding example of sculptural skills of Tamilnadu.

Yeri Katha Raamar Temple, dedicated to Lord Rama, is among the oldest temples in India. It is located in the town of Maduranthakam and is also named as Mathuranthaka Chaturvedi Mangalam, Thirumanthira Tirupathin and Karunagara Vilagam. The temple was built during the Pallava Era and has numerous inscriptions on the walls and the ceilings

We visited the Sri Rama temple at Ondipudur this morning, reaching around 7.15am. The approach road to the temple is narrow, so taking the car inside is fraught with difficulties. The temple is small, neat, and quiet. Apart from the 6 of us, there was not a soul. There's a 6-foot tall Hanuman facing Lord Rama. And yes, a kodimaram. There are also Nammalvar and Acharya Ramanujar. We couldn't see a hundial, so we kept our offerings on the plate. There are no shops selling flowers or puja articles. A man who didn't look like a priest was around, no namam or uthariyam, looking very poor. But he very gently offered us thirtham and Perumal kireetam. We recited a few shlokas in praise of Lord Rama, and soaked in the divinity of the place. Quiet little temple in a dilapidated corner of the city, but you can feel the presence of the Divine here. We were all filled with peace and calm. The temple could surely do with some financial and other support.
