When speaking about museums, the Ancient Industrial Artifacts Museum of Coimbatore is unquestionably an important tourist spot in the city. It displays artifacts from both the Old and New Stone Age. It is situated near Sreepathy Nagar in Ramanathapuram which is close to the Karpagam garden therefore it is within city limits and easily accessible. The Ancient Industrial Artifacts Museum has quite a unique collection of artifacts from the Stone Age which are displayed and includes stone tools and urns. Moreover, this museum is known to be famous for holding many items which are related to the well-known Kongu-Chola period which is taught in many history books. It is interesting to note that the Egyptians conserve their belongings along with their bodies inside mummies which is quite similar to the people of Tamil Nadu. Wherein, they too, believe in the fact of reincarnation and rebirth after their death. Therefore, they save their items along with their bodies in a large 'Thaali' which is known as a pot-shaped urn. There are many items on display which are housed in the Ancient Industrial Artifacts Museum which are excavated from areas such as Perur,Poluvaampatti,Vellalur. On an interesting note, there is even an ancient displayable slab which contains the commands issued by the King during a reign. This slab was being excavated from the Udumalapet town in Tamil Nadu. In addition, the museum holds many vessels, coins, sculptures etc. , which was being used during the ancient periods. For those interested in the operating hours, visitors are allowed to visit the Ancient Industrial Artifacts Museum from 9:45 AM - 5:45 PM on all days including weekends except government holidays and festivals. On a similar note, adult visitors would need to pay a charge of INR 5 each and INR 3 for each kid. With a calm and soothing ambience which fills the museum, visitors can spend many hours in awing the beauty of ancient artifacts and take a glimpse of archaeology.

Good collection. But details are hard to notice as the artefacts have aged. Especially the coins are kept in box and the carvings are barely noticeable. All boards are in Tamizh, so people who cant read it will have trouble. I used google lens to translate. Entry fee is Rs.5/-. But they will take another Rs.30/- if u use phone camera. They took from me as I used google lens. Go here only if you dont have better plans or if you are extremely interested in artefacts. You can see musuem in peace without hurry. Most probably you'll be the only visitor in there.

Artifacts on display are very minimal. But few publications by the Archaeological department of Tamil Nadu are available here. This place would be interesting only for history and archaeology buffs.

It's not a museum. It's a basement parking of some government back office along with some archeological artifacts. nothing industrial about it. The staff are courtious. Lot needs to be done to call it a museum.

    (Translated by Google) The smallest museum, the modern arsenal, is worth a visit. But this is enough to get you through the traffic and get to this place. Nothing is too great to overcome. If we combine this with the nearby museum complex, the VUC park will be the only museum.
