For as long as I can remember, this beautiful hill temple has been beckoning me. But as popular folklore has it, only if the deity chooses can one see him. I finally got my long-awaited call unexpectedly last Wednesday. The temple is situated in Madukkarai and open from 6.30 am. It is accessible only via steps. Ascend a thousand steps and you reach the temple which is on top of the hill. Thoughtfully placed stone/concrete benches and overhead shades are there every few steps for those who can't climb all the steps in one go. The view as one climbs higher and higher is just too good. From the top one can see for many many miles...just breathtaking!! The temple is believed to be anywhere between 500-1000 years old. Lord Shiva is the presiding deity. It is a small temple. Construction work is going on to expand the facilities. Very few devotees are there, so one is able to pray in peace to one's heart's content. Folklore also has it that the Lord here fulfills our innermost desires if we pray with piety. After spending a peaceful hour there with the Lord, descended the steps with a feeling of elation that at long last had finally got a darshan of the deity.

This temple is dedicated to lord shiva. This temple is located on a hill. This temple is surrounded by beautiful sceneries. Open during morning and evening. Advisable to go on a Pournami (Full moon) day. It will take 25-30 min to climb. Carry some water while going. The scenery from mountain top is good. The mountain stands alone from the other western Ghats mountains nearby.

This place is breathtaking in clear sky please visit this temple morning or evening exactly at golden over for perfect view. Other than that the temple is under forestry so it won't be open if it's foggy and rainy. It's definitely a tough one to climb and it will be a good experience for sure. And this picture was taken by Cymatics Drones channel visit the channel for full video. 🥰✨ Enjoy the view 🥳

Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva (Dharmalingeshwarar) on top of a small hill. Place is near to Coimbatore City (Approximately 13 km from city centre) and is situated in Madukkarai Muncipality. Approximately 800 Steps are there to cover to reach the temple on hilltop (About 30 minutes). Once you reach the top the views are amazing. The temple have a serene atmosphere and it will have a calming effect on you especially when there is not much crowd and noises around. On week days there won't be much crowd in the temple.

It is nice place to view the nature scene, more than 1300 upstairs in the mountain. First time commers please avoid afternoon 12 to 4 pm, because that time path is too hot

The temple is located on top of a mountain. If you can climb the stairs you should climb till the end and see the worthy amazing nature creations from the top.. Also the Coimbatore and other cities. The view is worth your hardwork to get up there, there is an amazing temple at the top where you can see a statue of lord siva. There are multiple lords (different lords temples) in the beginning of the journey. There is a way around the temple where you can have an amazing trucking path while experiencing the beautiful valleys and mountains along with a railway. I would recommend you to go here, this place is not only for praying... There are way more things you can find here. Thank you

Good temple with a medium terrain that can be covered in about 30 mins. Situtated on the Palakkad - Coimbatore road near NH566 is accesible by road till the foot hill. Free parking is available. RO water access is on the way side while you climb, still can carry water along with you on a safer side.

Very Steep Hill. Similar to 1st hill of Velliangiri Hills. But very broad steps. Approximately 850 steps. Will sweat a lot. On the way, rest places/mandapams are there to the top. Temple work is going on at the top. Went during evening time. At the bottom, they close the entry at 5 pm and at top by 5.30 pm. Temple people say animals like elephant, Leopard, orangefox, etc., will roam after the temple closing time, and hence, they announce to leave quickly and also watch us through cctvs From the top, the view is good and a good amount of air can be experienced. Overall, it was a good hike with Dharmalingeswarar darisanam. During pournami, girivalam cm be done between 7 and 5 pm. Take enough amounts of water for the hike, though water taps are there on the way. Enough space is there for parking four & two wheelers. At the bottom, pooja item aeeling jop is there. Also, an ice cream shop is there. Taking it after the hike will neutralise all the efforts. Ha ha.

Temple is situated at a very high altitude and has great views. Could see the entire nearby locality. Has to climb 1000 steps to reach the highest point where the religious rituals are being done. Popular among local people. Best time to visit is during early morning and evening.

A very beautifully maintained shrine... Development works on the fly... The steps and the entire temple maintenance is on-going. Will be very good by 2022. Walking up is a task definitely not recommended for elderly. But sun shades and resting places available at interminent locations on the way up. No possibility for vehicle travel uphill.

Located on top of a hill, it is quite a task to reach the top climbing the steps. But there are resting places built at regular intervels to help devotees. At the top of the hill is a small Siva temple which will be open in mornings and evenings. It is worth the visit to the temple. The view from the top is splendid. The ideal time of visit would be early morning before the sun rays heat up the rocks making it impossible to climb up and down.

Sivan has an amazing temple here, and I can see that it is constantly being improved. The foothills offer shelter for strangers, Annathana Koodam (Food), coffee, ice cream, and snacks. Very importantly drinking water in the hills is available, and Iyer (Pandit/Pujari) is so kind. Today sweet and karam pongal was tasty, Upma also I loved. Enjoy the amazing view from the top of the hills, If you are lucky you can see the full train view from the top (I'm lucky) ☺️

Excellent temple to visit. Morning time will be preferable to visit. Climbing will be a little challenging for those having health issues. The rest of us can climb with short rest in between. While climbing, use zig zag way in steps, it will help. A few lapses of steps are steep. For regular climbers it will be very easy. The view from the top is awesome. The place is calm and breezy in mid noon too. I have got a very special spiritual feel here.

Located very close to Coimbatore is a hill temple. This temple can be reached only by climbing the stairs. It is considered one of the most peaceful temples. It is also my favorite temple. Sometimes it is surrounded by clouds and it looks beautiful. From the top of this temple, the southern temple looks very beautiful. As this temple is located in the Palakkad Pass, sometimes it is very windy here. I have posted the meeting here from what time to what time it opens with a photo Thank you bye green trips team 😊

One of the greenest hill. Its take 35-45minites to reach the temple through steps. Carry small water bottle along with you. Nowadays the temple is opened upto evening 5:00pm. Located near to kochin - Salem highway. You can see the birdeye view of highway and south coimbatore from temple. Safe place for kids and women. So many rest places along with the climbing route.

Very favorite and mind relaxing spot. Really a powerful shivan temple. We used to go here in alternate weeks. Plan to visit the temple by early morning (around 6.30am). Start by 5am from Coimbatore, it takes 1hr to reach temple bottom. It will take a 30mins to reach hill top (Temple) by walk (without slippers). So if planned late 10am definitely feel the heat in steps. so its better to visit earlier in morning, around 7am there will be a special Pudjai in temple. That too in Sunday early morning we might get Temple Prasadam, it will be like anything. take some drinking water, so that could take a rest in temple for few time. Sometime nearby college students also taken here by management to refresh their mind. Apart from spiritual prayers and believes, we choose this temple to visit only because of very good physical health activity, fresh air and very good drive from Coimbatore. At early morning the wind will be so pure and pleasant, everyone will like the two wheeler drive from Coimbatore or else from Walayar at that time. During October to December climate will be superv and the view from the temple will be awesome, could see the entire south Coimbatore from there. For those who early feel to go out of home from regular office stress and routine activity and within 1 hour to 2 hour drive from Coimbatore, should try to visit the place at least once (Sunday early morning), from then will definitely visit every Sunday.

The scenic view is pleasant to watch at the top. After a hard working day climbing this hill could give you instant pump. Good warm up for our body. As well as you could experience a divine aura around this temple. Possibly for a sunset, you will love the green pastures on one side and national highway on the other side.
