Visited for the hiking trails. The park was very crowded, but it was a holiday weekend. Large families blocked the sometimes narrow trails, and I was never alone to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the area. There were drunk people yelling from their campsites which were very visible from a lot of the trails near the lake. The park was kind of dirty, litter was very sad to see. There were lines at all the best photo spots. That being said, I will absolutely be back, during a weekday to hike! This place is beautiful, and I hope the humans who attend in the future have more respect for the preservation of parks.

We really enjoyed camping at Eisenhower state park. The swimming area is a beautiful little beachy cove. Lots of trails to hike, sights to see, and cool fossils to discover. The only negative was the loud music that some campers had blaring. I wanted to hear the sounds of nature. Hello read the room- we are camping, not clubbing. Very annoying! Luckily after 10 pm the ranger came by and told them they had to be quiet after 10. It would have been nicer though to enjoy the natural sounds vs. the pounding headache the music gave me. We will be back though for sure!

Beautiful State Park names after our 34th president who was born and grew up in the area nearby. This park is nestled along the beautiful clear watered Lake Texoma. The shores are cliff and cave lined. There are two hiking trails, several ATV trails a beach for swimming and a few fishing docks. I look forward to going back in cooler weather for camping. **Note: Dogs and pets are not allowed on the beach or swimming areas.

It was wonderful! Are we going back? Absolutely. We loved our shelter, it was a cold weekend for tents, we moved them inside. 2-3 person tents large metal table (w/shelter), our miscellaneous stuff and Room to spare Door locks with a key.

Eisenhower State Park never disappoints. It offers spacious, woodsy tent camping sites, rv sites and fantastic shelters. The swimming area and rocky ledge views make this a magical place to experience. I’ve taken numerous families to the shelters as an introduction to camping. There’s also a variety of hiking trails! Our favorite tent camping sites are: Armadillo Hill 22, 38, 53, and 54 Fossil Ridge 153 Elm Point, (Primitive)- 186, 181,182,171, 173, 175 and 179, which gets our vote for the best tent site with a view.

Can't say I was impressed with this State Park. There was very limited water access and the water was not clean looking at all. More of a place that caters to boaters with the yacht club etc. Much of the park is under construction so not many sites available. The STAFF were great though. If anyone is looking for a great state park, try Lake Whitney state park!!! I was literally almost beach front and the swimming is awesome a US the fishing too. The pics are from Lake Whitney state park.....

Absolutely loved this place. Beautiful park with tons of amenities. Favorite thing was the hiking trails through the woods. Order your pass online ahead of time if possible because they close the park when they reach capacity. 😉

We visited Eisenhower State Park yesterday. We enjoyed a day of hiking and exploring Ike’s Hike and Bike Trail. We enjoyed the hike as it was more challenging than some other places we have been in North Texas (like Arbor Hills in Plano). The views were lovely and we enjoyed seeing the springtime greenery and flowers, butterflies, and lake. The park was also very clean and well maintained. If you’re planning on heading out there, buy passes online first just in case. Be sure to take your packs with water and bug spray, too!

I would call first to make sure there isn’t any flooding if you plan to swim at their beach! But this park has great views and great shaded hikes. The trails are moderate with inclines and declines and not many smooth paths but it is not difficult to hike. I haven’t camped here but the ones I’ve seen near the hills off the water have beautiful views.

One of the most beautiful parks in our beautiful Texas. There is so much park to explore. Very well maintained. Well worth the 5 hour drive for us.

I spent 2 nights in the non-electric in a tent. I really enjoyed the area. It pretty quiet. The only thing I found was that the first spot I slept was rock and not a flat area for a tent. I moved to a second spot, and it was smooth. The place is beautiful and the staff is friendly.

My most visited state park. Also very beautiful. We also did our flesh camping in this park at elm point. That's the best spots. You'll see the best view from this point. This park is big enough with lots of trails and views. For day use or camping it's perfect. And not so far from Dallas.

Nicely maintained park, lots of camping sites, primitive, electric and shelters. We stayed at a shelter site. Shelters are big enough to hold two tents and some spare space with a picnic table already in it. The shelter was clean except for some spider webs. The restrooms are clean and they do have showers in them. We went in October there was a burn ban, so we were not allowed to light the fire in the fire pit. The covered propane stove was allowed. The trails are well maintained with little elevation. The views are magnificent. The lake sounds like an ocean with the wind. Superb experience. The shelter keys were kept at the check-in office in an envelope for us. Lots of picnic tables in other parts of the park and restrooms at very regular intervals. We will definitely come back again.

We had a great day trip here. Bought a day pass and came for the swim beach. The rangers were very helpful, and the restrooms were clean. The swim beach is not very visually appealing itself, but the water was refreshing and really pretty views when you swim out a bit. The water was relatively clear, but not completely clear. There was not much debris in the water. I would recommend some kind of water shoes. We brought a cooler and swim floats and had a wonderful day here. To note, it is a pretty steep walk down, and especially coming back up if you have a lot of items or they are heavy, do be mindful of the little hike down and back up. Overall, a great experience at this park and highly recommend for a relaxing day trip!

First time here and unfortunately the drive to the caves was closed due to some road construction they just started on. This place has a marina where they sale bait, food(snacks), and gas for boats. You can also camp here. It is beautiful here. Listening to all the wild life. If you hike the shores and look around you will ind fossils and some fossils embedded in the huge borders. I recommend this place if your looking for some peace and quiet after a long week at work or just to come camp her. The site has camp sites, and something they call deer blinds. Come take a look for yourself.

Eisenhower State Park in Texas surpassed all expectations! Embarking on a splendid 7.5-mile hiking adventure today, I found myself captivated by the park's breathtaking vistas and awe-inspiring landscapes. The well-maintained trails, adorned with lush foliage, offered a harmonious blend of tranquility and natural splendor. Each step unveiled a new facet of beauty, leaving me in constant awe. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly recommend Eisenhower State Park to fellow nature enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable outdoor experience.

Came here with three friends for the weekend, and was honestly surprised with how beautiful the park was. It feels really isolated and like an authentic camping experience. There are many options for camp sites to pick from. My group decided on the primitive site which came with a grill and that was it. I would’ve given it five stars but what keeps me from doing that is that not all sites are equal as some are much bigger or just better maintained and it felt like a gamble for what we were going to get.

Very beautiful and peaceful. The trails are rated differently for skill levels. Currently (April 1 2023) the back back park of the park is closed so unable to get full use of the whole park. But don't let let stop you. Camping is on the next visit!

We arrived after the both closed on a Thursday in January and found a list of open, non reserved sites posted next to a map which was very helpful. Some loops were unavailable due to maintenance. The Bois d'arc loop has full services including sewer for $23 plus $5 per person for the state park fee. We decided to stay through the weekend and reserved online, which was a good idea because this loop was full Friday and Saturday nights. We had to move to a different, available site as well. This loop was all pull through but are quite sloped to one side, even though they are paved. The site is large with a picnic table up on a cement platform, tucked in the trees. There is a good distance between units. The bathroom had 3 toilets and 2 showers that were clean. The park is enormous with ATV trails, bike/hiking trails, a large day use area, and naturalist programs. There is a small store at the entrance. There are great maps posted throughout the park that include history of the park. The lake is beautiful with a swimming beach. Some activities were not available when we were there.

Brilliant. Been here in September - only one more camper otherwise all spots available during the week. Offer self service checkin after office hours! Had a great morning swim. Showers were clean and all very well maintained! Hope to come back! Epic sunrise 🫶

Probably the best state park nearby the DFW area. The view, lake and everything seem so surreal. You’ll feel like staying there than returning.

It is a really nice park. The campgrounds are well setup, we loved the trails. Most people seem to think the same because it is always very full and of course some neighbors are more considerate than others.

Just a park is great! Most roads are newly paved, however, a lot of the RV spots are uneven so make sure you bring plenty of leveling blocks! Other than that very clean and nice employees.

Hidden gem outside of Dallas. Lovely park for my annual 1st Day Hike. Staff were friendly, trails are marked very well and park is clean. Beautiful, scenic views! Leashed dog friendly on trails, but not allowed on swim beach. New restroom building was under construction but there were other facilities to use nearby.

Great park for a hike along the lake with amazing views. I was surprised at how the water looks blue and clean in most areas, considering the Red River flows through this lake. Visited after a couple days of rain, so many parts of the trails were extremely muddy but a good pair of hiking boots will do the trick. Don't miss checking it out the beach area. You can't bring your dogs to the beach but the rest of the park is dog friendly. From there you can also climb through the large rocks to get to the cave. Lots of picnic areas and clean restrooms along the park. We truly enjoyed visiting the park and would love to go back again.

They have nice ATV trails. They're not very long, but still fun. Staff that operates this park are awesome. Super good people. Overall, very nice State Park to visit.

Stopped & camped for the night while visiting family. Didn't get to see much of the park besides Bois De Arc Campground, but our site was perfect - full hookups...very quiet & nobody bothered us. They allowed us to drive to the campsite to check it out ahead of time as long as we stayed in our vehicle. We picked the site we wanted & paid for it online then went to the office & checked in. We'll be back someday, I am sure!

What a beautiful park! An easy day-trip if you're from the DFW area. Perfect hiking trail for young kids, the views were spectacular.

We LOVE our time at Eisenhower State Park!! The staff and facilities are top notch for camping, attention is given to improvements, and you can do as much or as little as you want. It's a great escape from suburbia, yet not so far from conveniences when needed. 🥰🏕👍
