Great short tour with Patsy. Rum distilled and bottled by hand. Up close look. Nice peek into a local business. Love this kind of homegrown tourism

Breathtaking place!! Definitely a gem 💎 a most visit place of Grenada 🇬🇩. Mr. Lyon’s, our excellent tour guide, guided us through the 200+ years old distillery of Rum. An outstanding historical place where rum is created by the hand of very hardworking local people from Grenada. We highly recommend this superb place!!

Nice tour with nice guide. 30-40min tour. They take lunch between 12h00 and 13h30 so arrive way before or just after that. The water mill is not always working, will depend on the level of water in the river. Impressive hand made operations.

The lady giving us a tour did an excellent job. She was very enthusiastic about teaching us about their product. They still make their product like the French did when they established the distillery. At the end of the tour, you get to taste their 2 products - both clear rums with one having a 63% ABV and the other 75%. The 75% can't be taken on a plane. From start to finish, it takes them 2 weeks for the product to be finished. The 75% had a smoother finish then the 63%. Not my preferred type of rum. I think if they spent some time aging it, it could definitely become a preferred.

Highly recommend for an awesome experience and a distillery operated and run by locals. I cannot stress the importance of giving back to the local community and not international investors. This distillery has the only operating water mill on the island, if not in the Caribbean. Did a tour here and loved learning about how rum is made. Small distillery that buys their sugar cane from the locals and molasses is not their main ingredient like some other distilleries. Highly recommend and only 7 min drive from Belmont!

Lovely personal experience to be had here. This estate produces primarily for Grenada only, but does some 69-proof rum for export. It's like stepping back in time here. Everything is run the exact same way it has been for 200 years. "New machines means someone loses their job" and these guys weren't having that. Our tour guide and pretty much every one else there come from a line of family who've worked the distillery. Absolutely everything is done by hand, so there was certainly a charming aspect of seeing how proud the tour guide was of how the rum was made as he took us through each stage of how the rum is made: from crushing the sugar cane to bottling. There are 4 rum companies here in Grenada. Three are sold only or primarily to Grenadians, and the fourth one, Renegade is strictly for export. Of the three local rum distilleries, this one is the only one that uses sugar cane, as the other two use molasses to make their runs. It's not a whole lot to see at this place, but totally worth coming to step back in time and see how it's done.

If you are going to do a rum tour in Grenada make sure you stop here. The staff are awesome and the process for this traditional way of making rum is really interesting.

Wonderful tour of rum factory by DeVonte. Factory still preserved manual practices that I found to be fascinating. We requested and were allowed to taste the sugar cane. It was a sweet and refreshing treat. Very enlightening tour, information on how run is made, tested, stored, and sold.

This was the most interesting tour of the oldest rum factory in Caribbeans. Highly recommend it!

Wonderful tour. Follow the smell of fresh cane step by step until it is a raw, immature run that you can still taste the cane within. Truly brings things full circle. The machinery sheet process is a true marvel to behold and understand!

If you are anywhere near the distillery you must stop. The staff was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Great stop for all the guys in your group, they will love it! Get your tasting and take some home to enjoy Grenada where ever you live!

Awesome tour of the factory and traditional rum making process. Our tour guide of the facilty was amazing and clearly explained the processes. The tasting was very good. Make sure you shot it not keep it in your mouth, burns good but amazing flavour

This was quite a stop. The working distillery makes 70proof rum which has tobe watered down to 69% to allow it to be taken on planes. The equipment and process are all hand driven with the exception of the sugar cane press which is from Derby and Victorian built. An interesting visit, though it did not have the feel of a happy workplace to me. no workers spoke to us at all.

Great staff and tour here. If you are interested in rum distillation, it is worth a visit. Product is not barrel aged and it shows - most US folks will want a mixer. The 75% version has the smoother taste.

Really cool experience, we drove there, entered the premises (drive to the left after entering the estate, all the way around the buildings), there's a little shop where we asked for a tour and immediately one of the guides came to show us around. Tour was 5EC pp. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and told us about the hundreds of year old processes they still use here. A unique and very informative experience. They also offer rum for sale and you get to taste it. Only advice is to not come during their lunch break (12-1?), we did that so we could not observe the workers at work.

Great tour with Joe - very informative and fun to learn about this traditional distillery. Only one in all of the Caribbean still using a water mill for production. Tasting at the end really woke me up - strong but tasty rum!!

Did a tour of the distillery, which was so informative as you get to see the process of how the rum is produced. The use of locally grown cane and wood from farmers is a great source of supplies. Also, i got to taste, which is very strong . 69 & 75% proof are very strong and not for the faint of heart. Be prepared.
