The 1/2 day Old Frascati wine tour was a fantastic experience. Dominique was a fabulous host both with her knowledge and enthusiasm. The tour was exactly what we were looking for; tour a small town, visit a vineyard, try some wine, eat in town, and be back in Rome in time to enjoy the evening. We were so impressed with the experience and recommend it to anyone staying in Rome that wants a wine experience without the cost and time needed to go to Tuscany. Thank you Dominique!!

This by far is the best thing me and my husband have done while on a city break. For 55€ we didn't expect it to be outstanding...how wrong we were. It began with Dominique emailing us daily explaining where and what time we needed to be at Rome station and explaining where she'd meet us. Sure enough her instructions and details were spot on. We spent the whole morning/early afternoon with her and a small group of others who were all lovely and likeminded people. She took us around Frascati and to a local bakery. Across the road in their shop we tried some amazing snacks and house wine! We were even entertained by a lovely Frascatian giving us a lovely speech in English! We were then taken to her vineyard by private transport. Then, her lovely mother in law showed us around the vineyard and underground cellars! This was incredible! Everything she said was insightful and interesting. Following that, we were lead into a beautiful room which had the most amazing view over Rome. We tried 3 wines (white, red and sweet) which were paired with snacks bought by Dominique that morning at the bakery! We were then taken back to the town centre of Frascati by private car again, and taken t a local restaurant. This restaurant was famous for its celebration of vegetables and as part of the meal we wer provided with a huge buffet of vegetables done in multiple ways (sounds lame but it was epic). We were then given a pasta dish and another glass of whichever wine we preferred from the tasting. We then made our own way back to Rome. Definitely think about doing this tour! Dominique was so hospitable and made the whole trip enjoyable. The only down side was that we realised another company is trying to pass as Dominique's tour at a much higher price! So be careful! This is found on a website called viator

Great half day wine tour in the beautiful city of frascati. If you're in Rome and looking to get out of the city to breathe some fresh mountain air I highly recommend this tour! For just 65 euro per person it includes- 3 generous glass's of wine, breads, cheeses and a delicious lunch (with more wine..!) At a local restaurant. The tour guides are extremely nice and friendly! All and all, really fun experience and great value for money.

This tour is a perfect way to get out of the hustle and bustle of Rome and into cooler, fresher air of the Frascati hills. Frascati is a charming town with rich wine history; this tour really showcased that so well! The highlight for me was stopping into the family owned bakery with 90 year old Nonna still running things with a smile (and dunking cookies into wine of course!). Getting to the winery was breathtaking; stunning grounds, lemon and olive trees, a beautiful house, and a fascinating story of the wine cellar itself. Both Paolas were such a delight and brought their warm energy and culinary and wine expertise to the tour. For the price and quality, this tour is really one of the best I’ve done while in Rome! Highly recommend!

We had the most amazing time with Old Frascati! We did the pizza making class with a group of 10 of us that were studying abroad in Rome. After a quick train ride, our guide Paola met us right at the station and took us on a walk around Frascati and we felt like locals!! The pizza we made was amazing and you get the whole experience at a local pizzeria!!!! Would do again 100%!!

One of the best wine tour I ever did. The wine taste fresh, mineral and dangerously good and the town of Frascati is lovely. After the stunning lunch at Osteria Santa Maria we decided to stay until sunset and found a beautiful park where to chill and sunbed till late drinking the bottle of Frascati wine purchased after the wine tasting. If you want to know what a real Roman feel like in his own magical environment you must do it yourself by coming in Frascati.

One of the highlights of our Italy trip! Very well planned itinerary, great communication leading up to it so we knew how to meet up with the group, and one of the best wine tours I’ve been on. The winery tour guide was so knowledgeable and kind. There was a beautiful view and a very interesting cave. The wine and snacks were delicious. Afterwards, the trip into the Frascati town and the restaurant was fantastic. Every single person associated with this tour was professional, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. I will recommend this to everyone who visits Rome! Thanks so much.

This was great visit and wine tasting. Very unique setting and we learned a lot about the regional wine. We visited the vineyard then did a tasting in the ‘cave’ which was so nice and cool compared to the temps outside in July. Then we had a short tour of the town and lunch in a local restaurant. A really pleasant day. Would gladly return.

This was hands down, the best wine tour I have taken in my lifetime! If you are in Rome or any surrounding cities, please book this tour! It was so great to visit the city of Frascati, so rich in culture and beauty. It was nice getting away from the hustle and bustle of Rome. We started with seeing the vineyard where our the owner explained in great detail how the wine is prepared and standards of wine. She was very detailed and seemed very educated in the topic. None of my previous wine tours ever explained it that way which was enriching. We got to to try the wine and also the pizza white bread. Pizza White bread is so delicious! We ate all of it LOL. We then got a tour of the city which is equally beautiful and tried local food. All of the food was delicious and our host was so kind. All of it was organized, minimal walking and great views. Considerations: Make sure to understand the transportation as you'll need to take the train in and back. You can do taxi but it is a better view via train from Rome to Frascati. PLEASE BOOK this!

We (group of three women) had an amazing experience with this tour! We really felt like we lucked out with our tour guides, Valeria and Paola (and the doggy Orso) were all amazing hosts and so personable, informative and fun! They really made us feel like part of the culture! This town (Frascati) is one of the most beautiful, picturesque towns I’ve ever visited! We feel like we got so much for our money, experiences that money can’t buy! I really can’t recommend this enough!

Really enjoyed our half day in Frascati with Dominique. Easy to arrive their by train from Rome (€2) and really no need for a car. Highlight was the ancient cellar and the wine tasting of course, even a red Frascati doc.

This was an amazing wine tour! 5 full glasses of wine, so many delicious snacks, a full dinner included and such a great tour of the city and guide!! I highly recommend this tour because it is worth the money and the trip out to Frascati!! I loved this experience more than Rome itself. A group of four of us went and have never had such a great wine experience. It’s a must do! You can also catch the local market which is amazing too! Dominique was an amazing tour guide full of information!

This was a wonderful experience! Only 30 minutes outside of Rome and a good way to see something different. We were late for the tour (our fault), yet the staff accommodated us and still made the tour special. The staff was amazing and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the wine tasting, learning about Frascati and of course dinner at the end. I would recommend this tour if you’re visiting Rome.

My wife and I did this tour earlier today and it was a very good experience with a couple of issues. The information sent to us suggested ordering train tickets on line which includes an extra fee and is not necessary as you can easily purchase the tickets at the Termini station just before you depart with no extra fee. Arrival in Frascati was a little disorganized at the train station pick up as the directions just said Marco will pick us up. When we arrived there was a woman representative on the platform with incorrect participant information including names and registrations. There was a little back and forth regarding if people are actually on the tour but it eventually got sorted out. One group went into a van and was taken to the winery while the other group waited for the van to return and take them to the winery. While waiting for the van we were treated to coffee at a local shop which was awesome! The tour itself was interesting but a bit confusing. The barrier to fully understanding the tour was the language. Yes English was spoken but half of it was difficult to understand. If we didn’t understand something we asked other participants but no one understood! It is what it is, and understand the woman giving the tour was doing the best she could. For us, the tour was so interesting we just wish we understood all of it. The wine tasting was awesome albeit not understanding half of what was spoken but the presentation and the wines themselves were great. And the return to Frascati was great including a quick tour of the town and a lunch at a local restaurant. The tour guide in Frascati was easily understood and was also a lot of fun! All in all, this is a great day trip option for your Rome stay… wine country is just 45 minutes away!

One of the most authentic and delightful experiences to treat yourself with while in or near Rome, at a most reasonable price! The Frascati Vineyard tours will immerse you in the life and warmth of the town, the beauty and history of the vineyard, and delight you with wine tastings, amazing food, and awe-inspiring vistas. Dominique, your guide, and Paola, 7th generation wine-maker at this vineyard, will welcome you like familia!! If you add any specialty trips to your visit to Rome make it this one!

This wine tasting trip was the highlight of our trip to Rome, and I can highly recommend it. Frascati town is a very nice place to see, with everything from small, old streets, to the magnificent palaces. Our wine tour guide took us around Frascati, we tasted some really nice local food (Porchetta) and later had a very nice visit at the Frascati wineyard, visiting the grapes, absorbing their amazing view and learning about the history of their winemaking, followed by wine tasting of their really nice white and red wines. The lunch in town later was also great. We spent the afternoon in Frascati, and had our dinner watching the most amazing sunset. Recommendable.

We did the pizza making and wine tasting; it was the best experience we had in our trip to Italy!! Dominique gave us very good and specific advice on the train from/to Rome. At the Frascati train station we had our tour guide, Daniella, waiting for us. She was AMAZING and made the whole trip great and entertaining. We went through the city of Frascati for a small tour and stopped for some wine tasting on the way to the pizza making... some more wine tasting till we started making pizza! For the pizza making, we met our chef: Claudio. He has been making pizza for 60 years!! the experience of making the dough was really fun and Claudio was very patient to explain how to make the best dough... then our pizza went into the oven and we had the best pizza!! The entire experience in Frascati with wine tasting and pizza making was wonderful! Thanks to Daniella and Chef Claudio who made it an amazing experience! I truly recommend this tour if you are into pizza and wine!! It's totally worth it!!!

This tour made me fall in love with Frascati. The small city was a welcome break from the crowds of Rome and the vineyard was so peaceful and beautiful. I love the white wine and while I'm not a huge fan of sweet wine, the cannelino was delicious. Everyone in town was friendly and nice, especially our guide Daniela. I would 100% recommend this for anyone who has a spare day while they are visiting Rome.

Frascati wine must be made in a certain way to be called Frascati. We toured the vineyard, cellar, and had a tasting. Unique to this experience was the fact that we were allowed to go among the vines, touch, and taste the grapes.

This was my first wine tour and Paola made us so comfortable. She is passionate and knowledgeable of the wine process and history of this ancient site. Oh, and the wine and food is the best! Giovanna was our guide around town and everyone knew her and welcomed us. Frascati is a lovely break from busy Rome. Marco was waiting right in front of the train when we arrived and friendly. We loved our wine tour dog as well.

We really enjoyed our tour of the vineyard and winery. So much history and information. Paola was a gracious host and shared very generously her wealth of knowledge and delicious wine with our group. I would give this tour a 5 star except for the fact that some of the promised items on the booking were not fulfilled. We did get a short tour of the small town of Frascati but did not get to sample food and wine while walking through the town. Also, at lunch we did NOT get to choose our "favorite wine" to enjoy with the meal. Other than that, we would recommend this tour. I would recommend spending the whole day here to explore this quaint town after the tour.

(Translated by Google) We arrived on the train from Rome (explanation of arrival including informational video appear on company website and email we received). Upon our arrival, we discovered a very romantic little town. We met an action, a very professional guide and also funny. We took a short walk in the alleyways of the town, tasted cookies at an old factory and then drove to the winery itself. There we got an accurate explanation of the way wine is prepared, the types of wine produced in the area and why only it is. After the evening tour, we had a light meal at the winery itself, where it was possible to get to know the members of the group (a total of 8 people) from all over the world and it was very nice. At the end of the day, the group returns to the city center, where they have lunch. They are then free to travel around the city or return. The whole tour of the city and the winery is very pleasant and friendly. Definitely an excellent experience. Highly recommend spending half a day and just enjoying life.

It was an excellent tour from the booking up to the last activity. I started with just an email the day before our tour date and Dominique replied immediately complete with all the instructions on how to get there. Our tour guide Mac was very candid and detailed. The refreshment of wine and wine doughnuts was a wonderful experience despite the scorching heat. Paola , the only female wine maker in Frascati was also very generous in sharing their journey and expertise in wine making. The tour in their very cold cave was just awesome. The tasting of the 3 wines was just fantastic as well not to mention the food . And the lunch was just the best to culminate the tour. We really hope to come back to this charming town and winery and hope to have it in time of their harvest and wine making And it was all worth our €110(55each) Kudos to the team!

I’d absolutely recommend visiting Old Frascati Food and Wine Tours. I went with my mam and we were with a lovely group of people who were very friendly. Everybody involved in the winery is so accommodating and welcoming. We learned so much about the history of the winery and how wine is made. The half day wine tour was the perfect combination of a traditional wine tasting and what life is like in rural Italy. Our guide, Daniella, did an amazing job of emphasizing just how family oriented the winery is and how important it is to keep Italian traditions alive in these tours. The company organizing the wine tour, Old Frascati Wine and Food, made this experience different than any other traditional wine tasting I had been on. They showed you exactly how locals make sure their practices are very farm to table. A tour anyone coming to Rome should experience to get a tradition Italy feel.

We had wanted to do a wine tour but found the Tuscany area tours to be very difficult to get to from Rome. This tour was perfect! 1/2 day, easy to get to, great tour guides, beautiful vineyard and caves, nice tour of the city, nice food treats (breakfast and lunch) with great wine. Couldn't ask for more! Highly recommend this.

Was a great experience of the beautiful small town of Fascati and the amazing Red, White & Dessert wine. Daniella was our tour leader & she was great. If traveling from Rome, take the public train it's comfortable & clean! You can purchase the wine produced from this vineyard at the end of the tour, so take some extra cash because you will buy a bottle or two to take back for sure :)

I have to say that I have been on several wine tours in Tuscany however this local winery in Frascati, only a short 30 mins drive or train journey from Rome was the very best experience. The setting and views were spectacular, Paola the daughter of the family vineyard was so informative and welcoming. The wine tasting by sommelier Max was really informative with delicious food pairings. Lunch followed at a darling local eatery so natural and authentic. Wine flowed and a beautiful alfresco lunch prepared by the sweetest lady, concluding with Limoncello! 6 bottles of wine that I ordered on the 19 October arrived in 10 days! Such a lovely reminder of the best birthday treat in many years. Grazie Dominique, Paola, and Max🇬🇧🇮🇹

Good tour but there were a few misses: - Would be nice if the driver wore a tour T-shirt or sign. The cardboard sign that he was sometimes holding up was not obvious. - The lunch on Sunday was very slow, which makes taking the train difficult since they only come every 2 hours. Couldn't even eat the pasta in time if you want to catch the 2:36pm train on Sunday. Next train is at 4:36pm. Otherwise the tour at the beginning was very good and informative.

My husband and I were part of this tour today. We found it to be very good value. Our tour guide gave some history of Frascati, some of which is unlikely to be heard elsewhere. We toured some of the old town with historical references. For example we were shown the oven that has been in use since 1400 and was used by the women of the village to bake their bread and is still in use today. We visited a winery and were given a very clear explanation of DOC and DOCG wines by the winemaker. We tasted some delicious white wine and a red. Then we had lunch at a restaurant in the town. It was delicious. Our guide was entertaining and informative. His delivery was excellent. I highly recommend this tour.

We had a couple free days with my school trip to Italy. The day before, we really wanted to do a wine tasting. After a quick Facebook message back and forth we were set for the next day. They were so amazing to us. Dominique was great at communicating timing and Paola was so invested in telling us all about the vineyards. At 55 euros, you cannot pass this opportunity up. Amazing service and if I come back to Italy and the area, I would do it again. Highly recommend!!

Paola our tour guide and the rest of the team were amazing. The wine maker was awesome, she took us to the wine caves. We were mind blown, glad my wife book the tour for us. Got to explore a bit of Frascati and the vineyard. The locals were super nice. Highly recommended it if you want to get away from other tourists.

A great tour that shows you around a typical Italian vineyard and the town of Frascati. The guides, Max, Paola and Dominique, were exceptionally good and very friendly.

This was an amazing experience! My group agreed this was the best thing we did on our trip to Rome. Dominque, Max, and their whole crew could not be nicer or more knowledgeable about wine, history, and their town. The wine and food was so amazing, we even bought two bottles to drink. The tour of the town was organized and very interesting, I especially loved visiting the old communal bakery that dates back hundreds of years. The best part, though, had to be when we went down to the wine caves. It was such a unique experience and we learned so much about wine from the only female winemaker in Frascati! I highly recommend this tour- you will leave a little tipsy saying how outstanding it was like my group did!!
