During my quick tour of Tongatapu, my tour guide stopped the car in the middle of the road and said why don’t I take a picture of the famous 3 headed coconut. The one and only in the island. Nice one!

Just wow! Absolutely amazing natural 3 headed coconut tree, this has changed my life for the better! I didn’t actually visit this, but just hearing from it cured me of all my ailments. If I could rate it 6 stars I would

This was free to visit. It is one of Tongatapu's natural attractions. In a field by itself, a part from other coconut trees, and next to a fence by a road, sits the famous 3-headed coconut. At the top the branches fork to form two heads, and then one of the heads forks once more to give it three heads. The attraction is clearly signposted. There is no formal parking at the site, but it is easy enough to pull over for a look and a photograph.

Tbh, it took me a few minutes to get my head around what I was looking at, but once I captured the elegance of the three different forces at play here, I truely understood the importance of what this means to the country of Tonga.

The Three-Headed Coconut Tree in Tonga is an absolute marvel of nature! I’ve never seen anything like it. This rare and unique sight feels almost otherworldly, as if you’ve stepped into a scene from a tropical legend. The tree’s three crowns are perfectly balanced, creating a striking silhouette against the island's beautiful sky. It’s not just about seeing a coconut tree; it’s about witnessing something so unusual that you’ll be talking about it long after you’ve left. The locals are friendly and more than happy to share stories and legends about its origin, adding a touch of mystery and charm to the experience. If you’re in Tonga, make it a priority to visit this hidden gem. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. Unconfirmed Fun Fact: this tree featured in Avatar as The Tree of Life

Breathtaking. An experience not to be missed. It’s very rare to see something like this, and to be up so close. My only critique is that there were other tourists there and they were making a small amount of noise which was disturbing the serenity. FYI go early to avoid the large crowds
