Restaurante El Arrabal

Restaurant Bar and grill Spanish restaurant

😠 This place is 2.9 for a reason. I'm going to be honest in the hope that the owner will try and make his business more successful. The welcome was non existent. The tapas served were cold and should have been warm at least. The waiter serving was pleasant but his body odour was so strong it was awful... People often mention tapas, drinks, restaurant, small,

Awful service - slow, most of the menu unavailable, rude staff and generally poor food.

This place is 2.9 for a reason. I'm going to be honest in the hope that the owner will try and make his business more successful. The welcome was non existent. The tapas served were cold and should have been warm at least. The waiter serving was pleasant but his body odour was so strong it was awful. The food served had to be sent back as it was cold. We asked for bread that was stale and the broken eggs with potatoes was an old dish rejuvenated and did not taste good. Overall the experience was so poor. The staff seemed more interested in having there lunch. This place needs more care, cleaner staff and better quality food. Great location but I'm sure no repeat customers.

Terrible experience. It was a rainy day and we tried to find a place for 6 people to just pass time with few drinks, but in the area everything was full and their bar part was full as well. We entered and tried to explain that we only want to drink, but then we were confronted by the owner that this is a restaurant and to pay him for our stay (the place was empty). Later they stoped the music and opened the main door to freeze us. Avoid this place.

A small restaurant in the old town of Toledo. Tasty Spanish cuisine. I don't understand its bad rating. Just try it!

It’s disgusting. The screwed up everything they could. The fries were cold and the calamares were not cooked well. Don’t go to this place. Even though it’s 10 euros, it’s 10 euros to much.

Avoid this bar/restaurant. 2.9 review is more than justified!!! The manager (see picture the guy with the glasses)is the most job worth people we met in Spain so far, who only strived to rip off tourists!! Tapas is of really bad quality. Meat ball lukewarm. Crab meat tasted fake. My daughter ate two of the lukewarm meat balls while the rest of the party hardly touched it. She threw up a few hours later. Hygiene is a concern here. Went in to use the toilet with my 6 year old daughter. Thought it would be a nice idea to reward thier kind gesture for allowing us use it . Never did I foresee this would be the beginning of a real farce: We are a party of 11, 5 of which are young kids. We ordered 8 drinks to share among ourselves. We found lots of empty seats in the restaurant side of the bar. The manager insisted rudely we come back to the bar area since we were not ordering lunch, which we obliged. After ordering the drink, we asked the waiter if some form of tapas is included? He said in English. "One tapas is free, two you pay. " Which is what we know from our trips. We told him that we would like to choose 4 different types of tapas. The waiter started to dish out tapas in a small dish. Then here comes the rude manager. He was telling the waiter off in Spanish and asked him to put all our tapas in one big plate. I then reminded him that we wanted our 4 tapas on four different plates instead of one big plate. I thought mixing the 4 types of tapas is the worst thing you could do to tapas. Then to our surprise, he served us four medium plates of same flavour of tapas. We explained again that we were choosing 4 types. He said it would be small. We said small is fine with us. He then dumped the four medium plates of tapas into the bin in front of us in a dramatic way and produced the bill, slapping it on the bar and demanded us to pay at once. We tried to explain again. One drink should come with one tapas, whatever size it is. We ordered 8 drinks and we would like four types of tapas for our 8 drinks. We don't care if it is of small size. He reluctantly agreed. Four tiny plates of tapas finally arrived after all the dramas. After tasting it, we realized that we should have left. The tapas are the worst we tried so far during our 13 day trip to Spain this year. 11 people couldn't finish four tiny plates of tapas from this place!!! When we tried to pay the bill, we were surprised to see four tapas were charged. We left 21 euros for our drinks, refusing to pay for the extra tapas charges. The manager demanded us to pay and changed his story that tapas is not free. If tapas is not free, why did he try so hard to stop us ordering four types in the beginning? If it's not free, why did he choose what we should have for tapas? We went to different bar/restaurant at Toledo, they ALL provide some form of tapas with the drinks. I left my sun hat on the stool at the bar during the argument. My husband went back to get it but they refused to return it. They are good of ripping tourists off and stealing customer's belonging. Be aware!!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Ordered salmon came out Raw … frozen and sent it back and they put it in the microwave and brought it back. When it came back there was hair on it. Very rude when we inquired about it. Ordered lamb, came out very questionable and still charged us even though we didn’t eat it. Flies all over the place. I’d stay away from this place at all costs, first time in Spain from America and I’d rather have the worst McDonald’s ever.

Will never visit again, cold food and overpriced. Salmon wasn’t cooked, went back to the kitchen to be re heated. No customer service.

We stopped here on our first day visiting Toledo! Carlos was our wonderful server, he was very helpful and patient with our learning Spanish. The food was absolutely delicious and their wine was refreshing! We definitely recommend visiting Arrabal Restaurante!

The bar here is so wonderfully secluded, small and friendly. Prices are fantastic. The calamares, croquettes and jamon were sublime. I highly recommend)).

Where to begin? Don't bother with this place. We waited 20 minutes before anyone took a drink order. They let us go through all the choices on the Daily Menu then, at 4.55pm, told us this menu was not available. We drank the drinks we'd finally been served and left, putting €5 on the table. The guy ran out after us, not to apologise but to tell us the drinks were €6, not 5. Is this Spanish hospitality and customer service?
