Must visit for everyone in your life if you love mountains and valleys. You can also Trek there. Rainy season is the best time for visit . But the road leads to Mahendragiri entry point is very bad.. drive carefully . Opens at 5 am in the morning and closes at 5 pm at evening . If you are planning to camp there go before the closing time . Not much shops available here . Kindly brought your necessary things from the market You will find peace of mind for sure.

It is a very beautiful place with an awesome view, you will have the best sunrise there. One of the best sunrise i have ever seen, loved it. This is the second highest mountain peak of Odisha afterΒ DeomaliΒ inΒ Koraput district. It has interesting archaeological remains. Mahendragiri is associated with the Ramayana as Mahendra Parvata (mountain). It is a 'Kula Parvata' along with Malaya, Sahyadri, Parijatra, Shuktiman, Vindhya and Malyavaan. In the Puranas and Ramayana It is said that Parashurama was meditating on Mahendragiri when Lord Rama broke the sacred bow of Shiva.

What a fantastic journey to this hill. The road to the top is challenging though when you reach the top, you will find it worthy. Mostly the best time to cherish the beauty of mahendragiri is to view it at sunrise and some other day to see the clouds below you.

Nature shines with some mythology. Amazing monsoon trail. Try to avoid littering and be a responsible explorer/vlogger/traveller/admirer or nature.

Mahendragiri, is a mountain in Rayagada block of the district of Gajapati, Odisha, India. It is situated amongst the Eastern Ghats at an elevation of 1,501 metres (4,925 ft). This is the second highest mountain peak of Odisha. Legend says that it is the place where Lord Parashurama..πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ», a chiranjeevi stays eternally and performs tapasya. Parashurama is the sixth avatar of Vishnu in Hinduism and he is one of the Chiranjeevis (long - lived), who will appear at the end of the Kali yuga to be the guru of Vishnu's tenth and last avatar, Kalki. It's one of the undeveloped beautiful hill stations. We went by bike the road was not good but you can travel via bike or four wheelers as well. You won't find any shops over there. So, you should bring water bottle & some food items from the down areas. Open & close time 5AM to 5PM If you can go at 5AM you can enjoy sunrise over there.πŸŒ„πŸŒ… The weather was awsome.. πŸ€ŸπŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ» I feel better but the government should be focus to the development of this hill.

Road construction work is in progress. So be careful while driving. Good time to visit is December to February. This is the 2nd highest peak of eastern ghats.

A trip to Mahendragiri is one of the best experiences ever(except the ride). But the road is so pathetic. It will test your riding skill 🀣. Please don't go if you don't have a good vehicle. The government needs to reconstruct the roads, it seems like since 15 years the roads are not rebuilt. Attached a video of the road.
