😠 The admissions personnel at Northgate leave much to be desired. When questioning a rep about a reason for them denying my husband rehab I was told that she didn't have to give me a reason for the denial. It was their "right" to deny anyone care. Don't we as human beings have a "right" to the care we... People often mention care, staff, Northgate, time, bill, days, nurses, facility, facilities,

My wife after surgery had to stay for a while at Kenmore mercy. After being in Kenmore Mercy for a little while she got infected with covid hey is impossible to get away from it . So she was transfer here at North Gate Manor . I have to be honest horrible experience ! In one situation she waited for 10 hours to be attended waiting excuserating pain sitting down on a wheelchair waiting for her schedule pain meds. I'm telling you if I had the power I would of drag her out of there that night . I honestly feel bad for those senior citizens that need someone to care for them. An really hope they are getting the care needed at a timely matter . I sure pray that no one goes through what my wife went through that night.please people get it together. Health care is a position that has to be taken seriously because is about having compassion for other and really taking pride doing you jobs .

I worked at this company for 4 days, and that was 4 days too long. The pay is very little and they work you like crazy, they had a different person for the first 3 days I was there each day for training, each teaching me in their own way but I got eye rolls and sighs because I did it wrong when it was their employees that have been there longer that were teaching me that way. People were constantly talking and whispering in one another’s ear. Once I brought this to the supervisors attention, she called me with an attitude and did not seem to care. She actually said in her words “ sometimes that’s the only fun you get in a workplace “ well ok, since when did work become about drama? Very very uncomfortable atmosphere. I was gonna go in and continue but couldn’t. The vibe was horrible. Horrible pay, a lot of work for not much to show for it. Never again 👎🏼👎🏼

This is one of the worst nursing homes in the suburbs I've ever visited. Friend of father is in hospice AKA Jennys house. The nurses are rude, staff walks around on phones ignoring patient needs. Please poor guy left in feces for hour before help. Over medicated. Can see the decline in just 2 weeks. The health department needs to take proper action. All these reviews seem alarming to me and others. It's all about the Benjamins which is sad. These poor patients didn't ask to get sick. Plus if you all don't like your job don't abuse the patient because of it. Get it together Northgate!.

I was treated like a queen. I was in for rehab. I died twice and in a coma. I consider all the workers angels. I can't brag enough because I'm home. They have gone above and beyond to get me home. My life is complete because of each and every one of the Angels.. Thank you Making this Transition smooth and Complete . God bless all of you. Y'all are going to succeed no matter what road you choose.. Always Have A Grateful day

My girlfriend worked there for 8 years when the state gave health care workers 3000 bonus for working during covid they terminated her and refused to give her the money she was working 80 hours a week during covid. This place doesn't care about employees. Or patient's do not bring your loved ones here and do not work here.

My mom was taken from St. Mary's to Northgate. I was told it is a 5 star facility. BS, this place is a joke. She's only been there for 2 days. She still has her same clothes on from Sunday, her TV doesn't work. I contacted someone all day, even drove there, kept being told maintenance is coming. She wasn't given lunch, at2:30pm, I had to ask a nurse for a sandwich for her. She has yet to be bathed or changed. The wheels on her bed were off the floor. When the bed was moved, someone had it propped up onto the heater. I had to go again to get a nurse to show her this ridiculous ness that my mom had been sleeping on. Stay away from this place, there are nicer facilities. This place is no way a 5 star. I gave it 1 only because I had to!!!! .

When my Aunt passed I became executor of her estate. I called to pay her bill. The business office argued with me to even pay the bill itself. They said I was "Not on her account". Even though NYS court has granted me Executor status. I never knew of a business office to sit there and NOT allow someone to pay a bill. My aunt has passed it is not like HIPPA is involved anymore. SHAME on the woman who was sitting there arguing over paying a bill ! ! ! ! **BILL IS STILL OUTSTANDING" (it got paid this evening.. but I should NOT have to send papers in from an attorney to PAY a bill. She is deceased. HIPPA no longer exists for her.. imagine having to argue to pay a bill of your loved one. What a nightmare

To fully understand this review, read to the end. What you need to know. My stay here (Northgate) was approximately 14 days and observations noted. All these facilities are partially monitored by management and others. E.g. .. A call button is pressed, light at nurse station and doorway of call button pressed is visibly on. Employee (Aide) enters the room ASAP and turns it off. Then, you are asked "what do you need"? The time stamp from the time the button is pressed to the time the aide turns it off is logged and later into a report. That response time is how all facilities are measured. Note that there is nothing that ensures the Aide will take action to your request. With that understood, my Northgate evaluation. I will start with two assessments. This facility at the time I selected was 2.6. I selected it as a review of these facilities years prior had Northgate at 4.6. In conversation with others. 5.0. Assessment 1 (Dayshift) Amazing staff going well beyond expectations. Strong supervision providing support as required. Food always comes out barely warm. Overall dayshift rating 4.8 Assessment 2 (Nightshift) Some nurses are dedicated to their profession and take a sincere effort to fulfill your needs. Unfortunately, some, not so much. Most Aids I encountered that are pertinently nights take advantage of nurses and minimal supervision. Approximate 30(+) minute wait times as I recall. Had one response to help button an unbelievable 2.5 hours. Can only thank God some dayshift nurses and aides worked over (or covered) into nights. Over all nightshift rating 1.5 Overall facility rating 3.15 Lastly. At the time of this evaluation, most facilities have the same issues. Finding quality (professional) people to hire. Retention. To keep facilities running, a hiring based on "Fog a mirror" must be implemented. I want to sincerely thank a few nurses, aides, my PT/OT staff for an amazing turnaround in my healing efforts. No names to protect those I refer to. However, you know who you are !!!

My grandparents were very well cared for on the CARE/Dementia unit. The programming is wonderful, the staff genuinely cared for the residents. We had a concern here and there, but it was always addressed in a timely manner. Both cleaned their plates at meal time. Both passed away within the months of each other under Hospice care, my Gram on Jeannies unit. I can't say enough about the staff there either, excellent care and communication. These are difficult times in Healthcare.. rules are made for them by NYS and they did the best with what they were dealt. I also believe the family has responsibility too..visit (as allowed) , communicate concerns, don't look for perfection.. it doesn't exist. You don't get 1:1 care anywhere you go. I truly felt the Northgate staff genuinely tried their best, we didn't want to place them, but were very pleased with our choice.

The admissions personnel at Northgate leave much to be desired. When questioning a rep about a reason for them denying my husband rehab I was told that she didn't have to give me a reason for the denial. It was their "right" to deny anyone care. Don't we as human beings have a "right" to the care we pay extremely high premiums for? This girl was nasty and rude. I hope that one day she needs to depend on a healthcare facility and is denied the treatment she needs! If I could give this a zero rating I would since that is how much they "care" about people. In response to your reply... No, patients are not screened for the best possible care you are able to provide or not provide. Patients are screened by the medications they require and the cost that you could "possibly" incur if they stay long enough to require said medication. Let's be honest, it all comes down to the almighty dollar.

Both of my parents were/are there. Their dementia unit is second to none! The nursing staff is compassionate and they love the patients. They do the ladies nails, sing, play ball, bingo...not to mention taking care of the not so fun stuff involved with elderly dementia patients. I'm a fan and eternally greatful for the past seven years of care my parents, the Goodwin's, have had there!

Northgate is horrible!!!! My husband was set up to go there in their rehab center from Mt St Mary's to their rehab facility because it was only place with a bed open within our area. The transport service put him in their bed at around 6:00 PM. It took over an hour for anyone to even prep him and make sure he was comfortable. I had to make sure they changed him and put new padding under him. I had to get water for him. The nurse didnt even check him till almost 8:00 pm. There are no railings on the bed! I hated leaving him there that night. I called the next morning at 10:00 am and they said they were calling an ambulance because his oxygen level was low. It wasnt that low!!!! They didnt even try to up the level or provide any other method of care. The DOCTOR on statff didnt even check him in or know what level of care was required. IT WAS THE WEEKEND - SO HE WAS OFF!! He made his decision purely based on what his level was and not on his overall health at the time. It was still within range of being normal for the issues he had. The medics had him stable within minutes of treating him. But because ambulance was called he had to be taken somewhere. THE ONLY REASON THEY DID THIS IS BECAUSE HE DID NOT SIGN DNR AND THEY DIDNT WANT TO RESPONSIBLE FOR CPR. THE HEAD NURSE EVEN SAID THEY WERE NOT EQUIPPED TO HANDLE CPR AND THE RESULTS!!! They are a nursing facility. They should know how to treat ALL EMERGENCIES. I had heard they were horrible. But now have experienced it first hand. Find another place for your loved ones!!! DO NOT SEND TO NORTHGATE!!! My friends mother was there and she had horror stories to tell as well. And they had the nerve to send me a bill for the few lousy hours he was there!!!! WHICH I AM NOT PAYING!!!!!

😠 The reception desk is horrible. The rudest I’ve ever experienced. The receptionist basically argued back at me, so unprofessional. When I asked the girl her first name, she refused to give it to me. As I walked away I heard them laughing at me. I’ll follow up with Corporate Compliance. I’ll never g...
