Not sure how this gets so highly rated. The location is perfect, but the interior is desperately in need of refreshing. The carpet, rugs and bed pillows were disgusting. All stained and dirty. The entrance is impossible and cluttered if you have big luggage. Overall the place maybe clean but it’s hard to tell when the stuff like paint is peeling off in the shower etc. Shame as the location is great but would not stay here again.

The view alone is worth the price. Great location with walking distance to attractions and the riverside walk. Owners are super kind with quick responses and the room was very clean. I'd not hesitate to book here again for my next visit to Porto.

The views were incredible from this apartment! Activities as mundane as brushing your teeth were made special just by being able to look outside while doing so. Super nice location as well, 5 minute walk across the bridge to the porto side. Everything was great especially for the cost. Would recommend staying here for your time in Porto!

The apartment was in a fantastic location, was small, clean, well equipped, had a great view of Porto (even though it was the bottom floor apartment) and was easy walking distance to Porto, Gaia and all the main attractions. My husband and I had a lovely time at Douro Riverside Apartments. The location was fantastic, and the apartment was clean and very nice. Our favourite part was the river view. We had a glass of wine and watched the sunset and it was so special.

Torn between a 3 and four star. The location and view is great. It was nice being on the other side of the river and a bit removed from the major hustle and bustle. The place itself is a little dingy - could use some upgrades and the bed in the port wine suite was just awful. With that said it was exactly what we expected and a great price. Just be prepared for the stairs! It’s not a Europe vacation without them - but even going into it knowing there were tight steep stairs the reality was tough!

A great location, easy access across the river and many local riverside restaurants serving excellent cuisine. The apartment was very clean and comfortable with a well appointed kitchen, incredible views. The car parking is secure, just a short walk up the hill. The hosts communication both pre and post visit was outstanding. Go there!

The room is comfortable and has everything. Our kitchen had a beautiful view of the Douro. The location is strategic for reaching both the wine cellar area and the center of Porto. It is located in front of the famous Louis I bridge which I recommend walking. A very convenient bus passes under the house to reach strategic points in the centre.

Really enjoyed our stay at Douro Riverside. We specifically stayed in Gaia for the view of Porto and this apartment did not disappoint. Check in was easy and we appreciated that we could leave our bags next door. They also helped us arrange transportation/taxi back to the airport. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful location and absolutely beautiful view from our window! Best place to stay in the Porto area. We had our best time in Portugal staying at Duoro Riverside. Very accommodating hosts, would definitely recommend and stay again!

If you want a comfortable place that is well appointed with an AMAZING view, this is the place. Everything was as promised and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. The hosts checked in with us daily to ensure all was well. Did I mention the view?? We would absolutely stay here again!

PERFECT location, beautiful view, and brilliant use of space for a studio apartment. The apartment is so close to the pedestrian bridge, the Ponte Dom Luís I, which crosses the Douro River to Porto. Although the bridge was under repair, there was still pedestrian access. Immediately on the Porto side is the funicular to take you uphill. Jorge and Celeste were quick to respond when I had parking issues (recommend look at the map they provide!). We had everything we possibly needed in the apartment including body and hair products as well as kitchen essentials. We enjoyed staying in the quieter Gaia area, had a fun port tasting of various port labels, along with chocolate pairing, 10 euros each, at WOW, an easy walk from the apartment. The mini Prego is also a walk away. My husband is Celiac and we were thrilled to get fresh bread and pastries at Celicias, The Gluten Free Company, a 40 minute walk into Gaia or a 4 euro Uber fare (near major supermarkets, as well). The Spice Art Indian restaurant, also a longer walk or cheap Uber fare, was also a great find; the chef came out and talked to my husband to reassure him he had a great choice of most items on the menu (and it was the best Indian food I have eaten). On the Porto side we ate at Tapas 65 and the server was great with GF recommendations. From this apartment one can wander the street of Gaia and Porto and then return to a beautiful restful view. We were lucky enough to experience a thunder and lightening show in the middle of the night! My recommendation is you carry as little as you need to (keep most stuff in your car, if you have one) because the stair flights are steep.

The unit was great, clean and tidey. Perfect location. The only thing negative is the steep stairs, from trying to manoeuvre trying to get in the main door which is heavy and only seems to open one side, while trying to get suitcases in. It was a struggle and I eneded up taking skin off my knuckles.. Accessibility is an issue and especially with kids and older people.Other than that, great place and definitely coming back

I can't imagine a better location for exploring Porto and Gaia. The view from the top floor overlooks the river and has an incredible view of the skyline of the old city of Porto. It's a short walk to all the restaurants on the Gaia waterfront, up the hill to the metro, or across the lower span of the Ponte de Luiz I to the Porto waterfront. The apartment is well kept, comfortable, and modern, and has all the amenities we needed, including an iron and ironing board. With big windows on the river side and street side, you can get a cross breeze that keeps the apartment comfortable all day and night. (There's air conditioning and a heater, but we didn't need either for our visit in early August.) We were pleasantly surprised by how much storage space there was: big shelves in the armoire where we could stash our suitcases, lots of hangers for our clothes, empty drawers under the bathroom sink for our toiletries. Despite being a compact city apartment, the space was very usable and never felt cramped for just us as a couple. It might be doable with a couple and one or two kids, but any more (or any more adults) would not fit, at least not in the third-floor apartment that we rented. The host is very communicative and gives great instructions. As listed, there was no washing machine and no on-premises parking, but the host gave very clear instructions for getting to the convenient free parking around the corner, and we were able to come and go as we wished, even late at night. The stairs up to the apartment are steep and narrow, but totally manageable even with heavy suitcases — the railings are very sturdy.

Great place to stay. Easy to get to, great location, amazing views over the Douro river, walking distant to the main Porto attractions, really close to Porto wine cellars and manage to meet the host Filipe, great guy with energy and very friendly. Parking included. Really recommend the Douro Riverside apartments. Top notch.

Our 2-night stay at Douro Riverside apartments was very comfortable. Communication was proactive and professional. The apartments were as advertised and lived up to expectation with spectactular views and a great location.

Small but pleasant apartment with a fantastic view and central location. Very clean and well supplied. Modern fixtures and strong air conditioning. Be sure to get an e-bike rental from Ciclo which is next door!

It's like a 5-star hotel but you get your own apartment. Perfect location, room was spotless and had everything we needed, great communication with the host, the view from our kitchen window was spectacular, and the price was incredibly reasonable. Highly recommend!

One of the highlights of my Portugal trip. As others mentioned, the riverside view is unreal and truly breathtaking. The hosts also go above and beyond in communication and providing toiletries you don’t expect. The room was huge and felt super comfortable. I definitely recommend this place for your future Porto travels!

What a unique place! Unlike any we've stayed before. The 3rd floor apartment offered an incredible view that kept us simply amazed at the beauty that Porto has to offer. Felipe was very helpful when we arrived and responsive to our few needs. It's location made it easy to get to places locally and was close to the metro station. I would recommend this place for sure.

It was the most amazing view and experience staying at the Douro River Apartments (3rd floor). It happened to be the St. John’s Day festival with fireworks over the river, like nothing we have ever seen! Apartment is perfect and well appointed. Love the windows! Location is incredible. Easy access to so much.

Our first stop in Porto was here and what a first impression! Do not hesitate to book your accommodations here! This was a fantastic experience, straight forward check-in instructions and the view of the riverside is absolutely breathtaking. The room we had was very clean, had tons of towels, bathroom essentials, and everything you could ask for. Cannot recommend this place enough, the location cannot be beat!
