10/10. Absolutely buzzing place. Everything about this bar, butcher, restaurant is top. The service was on fire, the staff were super friendly, and obviously the food and drinks were second to none. We had help choosing our meat cut from the counter and walking over to have it grilled for you was just a great touch. We were told by one regular customer (glass of red in hand) ‘go talk to the staff and ask for them to take you on the journey’ I left thinking….. ‘when can I come back and eat here?’

Amazing experience from start to finish. Love the concept of butcher shop/bar and grill. Some of the best local produce you can get, cooked to a very high standard in a very unique setting. Staff so friendly and helpful. Price was very reasonable for the quality of food. Will make the 5 hour drive from Newcastle back one day just to eat here.

Very busy place just after 5pm on a Friday. You can order steaks or other meats from the counter case and have it grilled right there if you wish, but I went for the burger. Excellent floor manager was very proactive, greeting and bantering with the guests, guiding the busy staff. To start with I thought I’d try and order a burger my way, then thought twice and went Olde School naked to try their standard Classic with just bacon, sautéed onions, pickles & burger sauce; added some chips and a coke. OMG. The meat, the char, it worked perfectly together. Absolutely one of the simplest, best burgers I have had since 30yrs in the US. Didn’t miss all the veggies, it’s all about the meat. Worth every penny of the £18.50.

Came especially to Marlow to try this place on a colleague’s rec. Great service (staff good at getting you to order more food!) and food quickly came out. Both burgers (chicken and three cheese) had juicy patties and tasted amazing. Chilli chips were great. Coleslaw is a small portion but tasted good. Would recommend to come as a destination place if not based near.

Fantastic experience dining. The bar is a butchers counter, you can choose a piece of steak (lots of cuts), or there was pork and lamb as well. I chose a pork tomahawk that had a Korean bbq marinade. They weigh the cut and the price of the piece of meat goes on the bill. You then take it to the grill and they listen to how you want it cooked and you choose sides (thoroughly recommend the Hispi Cabbage with lamb ragu side). There is a £14.50 grill fee per person on top of the meat cost and sides are charged separately. However prices are very reasonable for the obvious quality of ingredients and the considerable expertise of the chefs. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. The Parmesan and truffle loaded fries and homemade onion rings were fantastic. Thoroughly recommend the whole experience. Jamie (Exec Chef) helped us choose our meat and made a point of asking us how it was as we left. All staff were so helpful and friendly I felt compelled to write this review (I rarely do). We will be back, will not mind waiting for a table (they don’t take bookings and the place was packed).

It’s the best place in the world. It’s the whole experience sitting at the bar and eating the best food, but mainly the people that work here that makes this place so good. They create an amazing atmosphere. I feel like I live there, just can’t stay away!

A surprising find on a Friday night. My Wife and I stumbled upon this place by chance as we were in town for a wedding. From the outside it seems like a generic pub. The menu outside the entrance hints there there is something different - ribs, interesting burgers, and the ability to buy meat to take home; our interest was piqued. We went in to find the place fairly busy. Not packed, but there were only perhaps two tables available. A moderately trendy vibe without trying to be pretentious. Jeans and t shirt were as welcome as something a little smarter. We found two seats right next to the kitchen. These were bar-type seating rather than a full table, but were plenty big enough. There was also seating outside. The staff were friendly, if busy. Ordering was via the till. There was a good selection of beers and other drinks, but the food is certainly the main event. The kitchen was wonderfully run by two chefs, with occasional assistance from the waiting staff. It was a pleasure to watch, seeing as we were sat right next to it. We had deep-fried macaroni to start, they arrived as sizeable arancini-like delights covered with fresh hard cheese. The plating was perfect. My Wife had the chicken burger, which comes as a Caesar salad re-imagining with a coated chicken breast, Caesar sauce and garnishes. Mine was a pulled-pork topped beef burger with a lightly picked slaw. Their black pudding add on was wonderful. Although we didn’t partake, the meat counter has a butchers selection of meats which you can purchase to take home, or select to be cooked for you there. This includes steaks. We spent £60 between us, including drinks which I thought was very reasonable indeed. This was a wonderful local find, vastly superior to the chains further down the high street. The food was excellent and the whole experience was memorable. I would happily seek it out if I am in the area again, and you certainly should too!

Wow, just wow. We've come to Marlowe for a treat visit for my husband's birthday. We stumbled across The Butcher's Tap & Grill & went in because it was pouring with rain. Little did we know that we'd have the BEST meal!! Completely naive to this set up, we ordered. In the meantime speaking to everyone!! We met some wonderful people and what a compliment to have the Town Clerk regularly support the cuisine too & be on first name terms with all the staff! The staff were amazing, knew everything there was to know. The food.....sensational. My eyes were definitely bigger than my belly, but then I had the best 'goodie bag' to bring home!!! Steaks cooked exactly how you ask for them, side dishes delicious, service for drinks - brilliant, you just had to decide whether to say yes or no to another. We went in for a quick drink and came out 3½ hours later with very full bellies and loads of memories under our belts. There was a constant buzz of people and an atmosphere to be amazed by. Thank you so much Jamie, Ed & the team. We had the best evening.

Great food and service, the pig in blanket was amazing! Music was a little loud but they turned it down for us which was nice.

Do visit if you are in town. Small shop / restaurant with limited seating. The quality of the meat is phenomenal and it does not cost the world. We had a pork belly burger and the Vegetarian main, which were both amazing. They had a gherkin ketchup which was very interesting, went really well with the fried bits.

I was very lucky to visit here on my last trip to the UK. As the name suggests the restaurant leans heavily towards a meaty choice. In fact I would say this is an homage to every thing meat based. The staff were wonderful and I had Chef's recommendation. It was divine. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the deserts as I had no room to try. I can however recommend the cheesy truffle chips - flavours I have never tasted before. The rhubarb gin was a first for me too. Very good. Another feather in the cap for Tom Kerridge.

Last three visits the steak has been overcooked and the taste has not matched the price/brand. Novelty idea for a ‘pub’ but the cooking does not have enough char/flavour. Pictured is supposed to be medium rare but came out slightly chewy and no crust to the steak - £85-ish. Service is good.

I came here for Sunday afternoon lunch with my family. The food was to die for! Especially the grilled broccoli! My steak was cook perfectly and the sauces were very tasty! I also had some lobster and was perfectly accompanied by some herb butter! Our server Owen was very attentive and knowledgeable on our menu! Our Australian bartended was wonderful too! Can’t wait to return to this local gem!!!

Went in last night and had the best, tastiest burger in my life. Completely worth the money charged. It was slightly disappointing that the desert menu is limited to 2 items. If their had been a bigger choice we would have stayed for desert and coffee. We will definitely be returning, the ordering app is brilliant although the French fries aren't under the side menu. Drinks and food came promptly with the service from staff being very customer centered.

Went to Marlow for a lunch and ended up in Butchers tap and grill. I'll say that I couldnt fault any of the food that was served to us. The staff are superb, very friendly and helpful! The quality of food is good, worth the price. You have to choose which cut of meat you fancy and then they will cook it for your liking. We ordered the porkchop and a cut of steak and Oh my god, from the very first bite until to the last is amazing! Cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The only criticism i have is where they plate the food because it moves quite a lot whenever you cut your meat lol other than that everything is perfect! 👌 100% i will recommend this place!

Absolutely worth a visit. We shared the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger and the Sirloin Steak fresh from the counter. Both drinks and steak were reasonably priced. We popped the Mac'n'Cheese bites as a little starter which were "Proper Lush"

Had an wonderful experience at Butchers Tap & Grill on Sunday. The service, in line with Tom Kerridge's standards, was impeccable, even during the bustling crowd. The highlights were the Lamb Fritters and the Pork Tomahawk! Arrive early to secure a seat, as it tends to be quite busy. The option to buy meat for takeaway or pay a grill charge for them to cook it and sit in is a great option. A must-visit spot.

Love this place, been multiple times and always a reliable burger at fair prices for the quality. Definitely recommend the onion rings with gherkin ketchup! FYI - a terrible pic as it's way more delicious than this makes it look.

I live in Marlow and made the mistake of taking a colleague from Texas to the Butchers Tap and Grill for an alfresco burger. The outside area is really substandard. Picnic tables in an enclosed, unimaginative area. I was horrific after ordering our very expensive bugers inside to be litterly dumped with burgers in half measure cardboard cartons, with small wooden cutlery, outside. We had to ask twice for condiments. Had the burgers been exemplary, the outdoor atmosphere, poor service and cheap presentation might have improved our eating experience. However, the quality of the burgers and how little were in them was also highly disappointing. And embarrassing. Wish I'd taken my colleague to one of the Kebab vans in Marlow. He would have had the opportunity to experience something more authentic to Marlow.

There are many reasons to visit Marlow & @thebutcherstapandgrill is right up there! Choose from Burgers to Chateaubriand (which I highly recommend) in a relaxed casual atmosphere! Choose your meat from the counter & the chefs will whip that up for a grill fee. As luck would have it on a Monday you save 10% when ordering on their App #appydays I noticed kids eat free too. Chef Tom Kerridge opened the Butchers Tap as a Butchers where you could grab a pint & light bar snacks. It was great to see it had been extended to include the grill too with Chef Jamie May & team grilling up a dream. Also they have the nicest front of house staff. #tbtg #thebutcherstap #thebutcherstapandgrill #thebutcherstapmarlow #chateaubriand #steaknight #marlow #onthegrill #visitmarlow #buckinghamshire #topchef #dreamteam #handandflowerstomkerridge #tomkerridge #jamiemay #marlowfood #butchersshop #bar

We called in for lunch and ordered the venison burger with pickled mushrooms and fries. The venison burger was perfectly cooked, succulent and complemented beautifully by the pickle and brioche bun. Top class food and great service with a smile . An absolute winner for £15. I would recommend the Butcher's tap and grill to anyone.

As someone who chooses not to eat anything with a face, you may wonder why we chose the Butchers Tap. Well, having reviewed the menu on line and noticing that we could also take the dog with us, we decided to visit. We were very pleased we did. Informal, no need to book and great atmosphere. The food was ordered on the ap’ which is encouraged (our choice) and arrived promptly and served by friendly staff. My Korean mushroom burger was to die for! Quite funny when you consider the array of meats on offer and which my wife enjoyed. Loving this idea. Well worth a visit and happy to recommend. Well done the team, oh and Mr. Kerridge for the concept!

The word "burger" doesn't quite fit for a burger from the Butcher's Tap and Grill. But it's not helpful if I say everything is delicious, even if it's absolutely true. I had a Double Cheese + BBQ Brisket Burger and the wife had Buttermilk Fried Chicken Caesar Burger. The smokey flavor of my first bit was divine and I just kept finding new flavours every time I had a flash of concentration. The brisket is beefy the red cabbage leveled and colourful. We found the matradee is top notch as well as all the other staff. I would now always order bacon with the meal as a must try and take my food off the wrapping as I had started eating it in my haste. I look forward to the occasion I get to try a T-Bone.

Lunchtime visit in the outdoor garden seating area. Food was delicious although a bit pricier than your normal burger joint. Food came rather quickly. When they say bacon, it’s a proper thick slab of pork belly! It was amazing.

Nice looking place inside , quite small though so you’re almost rubbing elbows with other people sat near you. Me and my girlfriend had the classic burger which was really nice , nice tasting good quality seasoned meat and quite big , good value for money at £9 I thought, considering it’s a Michelin starred restaurant. The loaded Parmesan and truffle fries were a bit of a disappointment, just fries with some standard Mayo on top with a little truffle running through it and some grated Parmesan on top. Not sure if this Mayo was homemade , it didn’t seemed to be , but at £5.50 a pop you’d want it to be. Grilled chorizo started was nice and the onions rings were nice. I was originally going to have a steak but couldn’t bring myself to pay an extra £12.50 for them to cook it which I thought was a joke. Because it is a butchers shop you go up to the counter choose your cut , pay for the weight and then they cook it for you, like I said for an extra £12.50! I wanted a rib eye steak with some fries and onion rings etc. and on working it out it would’ve cost me around £35-£40 for a decent sized steak around 350-400 grams with the fries and onion rings and I just couldn’t bring myself to spend that on steak and chips. I get that the meat is of good quality and age-dried and what not , but they really need to reconsider their prices. So we just stuck to the burgers , and didn’t regret it. A bit of a mixed review here. Some of the items on the menu and the meat are a little overpriced, but all in all and nice little experience.

Been with some friends and is absolutely recommended! The steak, the sides and even the fries were just perfectly cooked. The whole team was very professional and welcoming and Lidia was absolutely a legend with the service. Even the cutlery was impressive (steak knife from a very good and renowned brand)
