There is a home depot drop yard literally across the street. Walked over on a sunday.. the museum unfortunately was closed but did take some time to check out the static displays. Had several aircraft on display. A kc-135 stratotanker, F-105 Thunderchief, B-47 Canberra and an F-4 Phantom with the markings of Pilot from Vietnam who downed a MIG. They also had an M-60 and M-1 tanks, several Helo's, cobra gunship, a huey troop transport, a cargo one and a bell Jet ranger (don't remember the military designations) Lots of other equipment some of them WW2 vintage. Was really neat. Wished the museum had been open. Took some snap shots with my Holy Grail Rabbit I bought at Meridian Underground Music out of Meridian Mississippi

A really great museum but it will overload you trying to read everything! Friendly people plenty of parking. It’s probably one of the best FREE museums I’ve been to and tells a great history of the States Gaurd.

Awesome place for locals and travelers to Topeka. Lots to look at and explore. Lots of equipment, tanks, planes, helicopters, trucks, for kids to look at. Lots of documents, history and items to read for adults. It is also free, donations are accepted, but don't think it is free for a reason, it could easily cost quite a bit for entry in most cities in the US. Go check it out and then check out the Combat Air Museum just southeast of it after.

It's free admission! The outside area with the decommissioned vehicles, aircraft, and artillery are always open to viewing. The inside of the building does have limited public hours though. My 4-year old loves anything military that uses a motor. Here's scared of statues and mannequins, so we didn't spend much time inside. But he absolutely loved the tanks and helicopters. Especially if they are painted camo colors!

Pretty cool little spot, alot of military history, the sky crane though, my kids could stay off it, I recommend it the place is kept pretty prestige and it's very kind friendly

This museum is so cool. You could spend a week there and still not see all of the exhibits. Cool tanks planes and helicopters. You don't want to miss this museum.👍

This is a great donation museum with tons of military history. We loved the tanks outside of the museum. They have an American half track from WW2 and some Russian tanks captured in Desert Storm! Inside the museum has lots of military artifacts from the National Guard including a flame thrower, anti tank gun, rocket launchers, and way too much to list. There was some military gear for the kids to dress up in, which was awesome.

My second time there. If you're a vet or are interested in military history, this place is a must-see.

An awesome museum, and free to enter! Outdoors is an incredible collection of American aircraft and armored vehicles, as well as some captured Iraqi armor - not something you see everyday! Inside is a real treat though, with equipment, arms, and stories spanning the entire history of the Kansas National Guard. You'll see rare weapons and gear, and learn stories you won't find in any history book. Worth a stop for sure!

👍👍 Loved it! Great little hidden gem. My fiance was like a kid in a candy store. Planes from WWI to Modern day. French to German to Blue Angels. They have some that you can walk through and get an up close look at. Staff was really sweet too. Be advised that the hangers are not air conditioned, they...
