Very good experience for St Patrick's Day ! Staff is very welcoming thanks Kira and Ben for the organisation !! We had the chance to see some Irish dancer that was very nice !! Draught beer around 9 dollar and they have an excellent Irish cider for 10. . Down sides : the quality of food is from frozen food but it's good quality to eat. The 20 dollars charge cover they put in place for people coming after 2pm which wasn't expected in the first place. But you need to pay the artist for live music so in the end totally understandable.

The food was okay, gets the job done. Guinness tasted okay here, usually love Guinness. Not sure if I had Guinness that's been sitting in the line or if it hasn't been cleaned in a while. The interior is cool though, it's what you'd expect from an Irish pub.

Our first visit to this Irish pub was a delightful experience. The charming and lively atmosphere, combined with its tasteful decor, set the perfect mood. During our visit, we decided to indulge in a picnic salad, beef stew, and a couple of pints of beer. The food exceeded our expectations; the picnic salad featured fresh spring mix and succulent chicken, while the beef stew was tender and incredibly flavorful. One highlight was the beef stew, which came with a bunch sliced of bread. Dipping the bread into the rich beef broth was a delightful treat. Our server also played a crucial role in making our visit enjoyable. Her helpful recommendations greatly enhanced our dining experience. With such a positive experience, we're eagerly looking forward to returning soon!

Great evening. My friend and I went there to have out and have diner. We had not been there for more than 5 years. It was nostalgia like…. The food was great. I had the classic burger and my friend has the beef stew. The service was great. After eating, we moved to the other section where they had a nice live Irish music. Enjoy the evening.

4.2/5 Great pub with a cozy atmosphere and surprisingly good food. The interior is what you’d expect of a pub, nothing fancy but warm and comfortable. The servers were very pleasant and attentive. They have a wide variety of draft beer and a large food menu. We tried their Pizza, Wings and Onion rings. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food as it was hot and quite tasty. It’s standard bar food so nothing exceptional, but much better than the frozen and heated entrees you get at most chain bar restaurants. The prices are exceptionally reasonable for the location ranging from $16-25 for most items. Overall, a great experience. I’d highly recommend dropping in for drinks and food after work!

I had the $30 lamb shank, which was tender and delicious. The $23 beef stew was thinner than expected but still tasty. The portions were good, and the bread and butter were free! It was still a bit pricey overall. The servers were nice, and it was very lively on a Tuesday night. The seating is pretty tight, and it's quite warm inside.

This Irish pub in the area is truly delightful. The ambiance is fantastic, creating a welcoming atmosphere. What stands out is their extensive food menu, offering a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. During my visit, I tried the picnic salad, and I must say, it was delicious and refreshing. My friends ordered the nachos, and they were equally impressed with their choice. The portion sizes were generous, and the flavors were on point. I’m definitely looking forward to returning to this pub. It’s a great place to unwind, enjoy good food, and soak in the pleasant atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a fun gathering spot with friends, this pub hits the mark. The friendly service and the overall experience make it a go-to place for a satisfying time. If you haven’t been here yet, I highly recommend giving it a try. You won’t be disappointed!

This is a great pub! The food is also excellent. The ONLY bad thing, was that there was a 2" long piece of wood at the bottom of my curry. I spoke to the server about it and I got a song and dance about how it is put into the nags of rice, to absorb moisture, away from the rice. He said he would "speak to the kitchen staff about it." That's small consolation for the potential for injury to me, had the wood stood on end! It seemed 5jat the complaint wasn't taken seriously. Apart from that though, the curry was DELICIOUS!!

What a find! Whilst outside Kensington market, I met a handsome Irishman named David and his dog, Jack. Having been to Ireland eight times myself, we began a lovely conversation. He recommended I have dinner at PJ O’Brien, because it was the hub of the Irish community in Toronto. The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly and professional. I was surrounded by Irish accents as I enjoyed my amazing meal, and I couldn’t have been happier.

Amazing atmosphere, and the food is traditional pub style. The fish and chips, may have been the best I’ve had out of any restaurant! The coleslaw was amazing

Popular Irish pub in core downtown. A bit tough to get the server's attention unless you're a regular maybe. Cocktails were ok, fabulous looking place though. We didn't eat so cannot comment on the food.

Nice Irish pub in the heart of downtown Toronto. The staff are really attentive, quick and friendly. Prices are reasonable for downtown. If you are looking for a casual place to hangout in Toronto's downtown core this is a good spot to try. I had the veggie burger and soup, we also ordered the Irish nachos. All was pretty good, my friend had the braised lamb which got a thumbs up.

Great Irish pub in the centre of Toronto. Excellent food and drinks, and the service was top notch. We had Atlantic salmon, and the chicken curry, and I can assure you, it was very good quality. And they have good Guinness too. Overall, we were very pleased and I would highly recommend this pub.

A pint of beer and a steak sandwich is all you need to survive the harsh climate that is the urban center point of Canada. All jokes aside, this fine establishment offered very good service and had all the qualities you look for in a good pub / restaurant. Clean, organized and fast service. A little bit pricey but the food quality and location justify it. Would recommend.

Genuine Irish Bar and one of very few decent pints of Guinness outside Ireland! 10/10 I'd say even the Guinness guru wouldn't turn it down 👍 If you want a little bit of Ireland visit PJ O Briens. Great atmosphere in a nice area of old Toronto.

It’s a nice place to chill if you like a more casual place to spend some time. Their Irish Beers and sides are very good and always delightful. They have friendly staff who take care of you very well. I know P.J O’Brien Irish Pub from Australia and tried it here in Toronto, too. They have same atmosphere giving you the same vibe. If you are around the area and looking for a casual pub, it’s an option to consider.

Stopped by here for a few drinks before calling it a night. It's cozy and the service is fantastic. I love finding places like these when you're just walking around and fortunately it was close to the hotel I was staying at. Didn't catch the name of our waitress but she was Asian and super duper friendly and kind. The vibe isnt pretentious at all and i felt welcome despite being a tourist. What a gem!

This review is based on my visit to the establishment for a private event, and not a regular visit to the restaurant. I would recommend this place for hosting private events since the food, atmosphere, and service were all good. This is a cozy Irish pub located downtown Toronto, not too far from Yonge & Wellington. It's an excellent place for holding private corporate, or social events since they have a separate space upstairs from the main restaurant area, with a different entrance off to the side to keep your event private from the general public at the restaurant. This private space also has a mini bar, with your own private bartender, enough seating space for at least 20 people, and a fire place to add to the cozy atmosphere. For private events, the restaurant offers different course menus for you to choose from. The menu at this event was a 3 course menu, with at least 3 options under each course for guests to choose from. I ordered the green salad, steak, and chocolate torte. Considering the number of people they needed to prepare dishes for, and being able time it right so that they could bring out all the food at approximately the same time, I wound say the food here was pretty good. The dishes also all arrived within a reasonable amount of time after we placed our order, and the servers were consistently checking to see if we had finished eating before bringing out the next dish. The staff here were friendly, and our bartender was willing to make cocktails not on the menu as long as they had the ingredients for it.

It is what it is. Noisy bar with lots of people who love noise and alcohol. If beer and chatter is your game you will feel right in place. For beer bar they are probably 5/5. Food is below subpar. 2/5. Service is ok - but don’t expect a restaurant level of attention. 4/5 Atmosphere- you have to be a fan. Not my thing. This is not a supercritical review. They are doing what they are supposed to. Just not the right place for me.

While the burger I had was quite good, the fish my daughter has was not. I let the bartender know and he basically shrugged his shoulders. The server must have been new but no excuse for bad service. As far as the atmosphere is concerned we could not see anything from our table.

Amazing service and a really authentic Irish atmosphere. We almost felt like we were back in Dublin. The Guinness was a perfect pour! The food was good, not bad and not amazing. We really appreciated how friendly the servers were with our toddler son and we were attended to in a fast and friendly way. We will definitely come back!

This is a little gem of a pub right in downtown Toronto, hidden away in a calm street away from the hustle and bustle. Typical Irish pub, clean, and food is good as well (Shepherd's Pie is a solid 8/10, the Beef and Guiness stew is ok but the beef a bit on the dry side), and they know how to pour a pint of cold Guinness. The crowd is mostly financial district bros but everyone feels welcome. I used to go there often after work but it had been a while and I had a good time, still a nice spot. The staff is nice.

Love the place. Any time I'm hungry it meets my request for good filling food. Irish stew, chicken curry, shepherds pie, burgers- all better than in Ireland 😉 Highly recommend!

Wow, what a fun place to be. The food was to the homemade quality that our Irish families would prepare with love. Service was great and the atmosphere was fun! Everyone there who were either serving or as a guest had smiles on their faces! We’ve be there again! Cheers!

I've been to this Irish pub many times and always enjoy it. It does draw many after work around 4-6pm so it can be very noisy with everyone yelling to be heard in conversation. The food is consistently good and has a variety of daily specials.

I cannot recommend a bar in Toronto (and maybe the world) more. If you're looking for a party with an intimate atmosphere this is the place for your group. They even offer "toppers" in your Molsons! What team players. We had a group of 10 here from the States and this is now our second home. If they offered t-shirts we all would've bought one. 10/10.

You know the world is in harmony when you can order tasty Chinese spring rolls in an Irish pub! The main dishes quality are superb, we have ordered lamb chops, seafood spaghetti, beer beef stew, fish & chips. All big portions with economically price tags. The staff are friendly and efficient.

Great pub. Good food. Good music. Just unfortunate that we were seated next to a group of ladies who were tirelessly doing selfies and looking at the mirror behind us, all pretending to be drunk already and keep bumping our table. The only sad thing is that servers didn't even bother to check on us how we're doing being seated next to this group of rowdy middle aged women. But I am still rating them 5 stars for the good food and live music.

One of the best spots in the city. Really great food, exceptional service, and overall very good vibe. Highly recommend checking it out!! Bread pudding is to die for.

This place has good google ratings, but it must be for the pub ambience since the food is not good. No one at our table of 10 enjoyed their meal, but the atmosphere was lovely. Dessert was better than the main courses. Go for drinks, not food.

Had a really nice experience at PJ O'Brien's mid week just for a nice dinner out relaxing chat. I loved that they knew their audience and played music appropriately for the age group in the bar. They had a delightfully Irish menu that wasn't too large to chose from. Started with their Irish nachos (fries, cheese and green onions with sour cream and Guac on the side), Guinness Sausage and Bread pudding to finish. Everything was done decently well though lattice fries would have made the Irish nachos better. Our server was attentive and friendly. Seats were a little older and slightly uncomfortable (especially the banquette that sunk in the middle). Otherwise, overall the value is excellent.

In the heart of downtown Toronto for dinner after attending Toronto’s Festival of Beer. This pub has a distinct character and live music starts at 10:00 p.m. I selected off the vast menu the Kilkenny Ale Fish & Chips $18 with two pieces of Kilkenny battered fish with Yukon fries. There are lots beers on tap so I chose a Keith’s Pale Ale $7.30. The meal and service was great! Now it’s time to enjoy the Irish live music.

This site is my first choice place. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to that place. Whenever I I need a good lunchon, this is the place that comes instantly to my mind. excellent and diverse food and a large list of dishes.helpful crew, and pleasant ambience. Also, the price is reasonable. I suggest this spot with pleasure.

This place is about as close to the classic Irish Pub as you can get in the city. The food is all pretty good and so is the drink, but what you go here for is the atmosphere. Cant match it.

Lovely spot, but the kitchen caught fire a few months back. It’s the end of December and they are expecting food service to resume soon, but there is no food at the moment. Terrific staff and awesome service I have in the meantime, and you can order in in the meantime.

  • 2/5 Matt H. 2 years ago on Google
Extremely overcrowded. Way too loud, poor service and countless options out of stock as a result. Zero IPA's on tap. Only 2 servers for the whole place. $21 hamburger was a frozen hockey puck. First time here won't be coming back. Same owners as Irish embassy which is a much better option if they ever reopen.

Went there with a few friends last night. Had a great time. The drinks were well priced. The complete indoor of the bar had an Irish charm. All the bar staff was super nice and very friendly especially the main bar tender and the guy who served us - Connor (Both are from Clare county 😊). The Guinness here tastes better than a lot of other places. Overall a very wholesome vibe. Would definitely recommend !

I'm here in Canada for 8yrs (Vancouver) and I came to Toronto a week ago for a trip. Googled the best pint in Toronto and PJ popped up. Well I can say it didn't disappoint me. I wish Vancouver had a similar place. The decor and ambiance was just like home. 🇮🇪

A great authentic-feeling Irish pub. Lovely wooden interiors and well decorated. The guinness is good but takes a long time to get to you because everybody wants one! It's also open late!

First time back since COVID. I hosted a small party for a lunch meeting and requested “someplace quieter” when I made the reservation. Given how popular this establishment is I didn’t expect much given the general noise level as people enjoy their meals. I was quite surprised and pleased that they gave us the snug which is in a small room at the back. Excellent attentive service from the team who respected our meeting while at the same time ensuring that we were promptly served a first rate lunch with fresh beer and taken care of while we were there. Highly recommended if you are looking for a classic real pub atmosphere, top food and drink, and excellent and friendly service!

Pretty decent traditional Irish pub/bar. We dropped by on Saturday night and sat at the bar. There were some rowdy young men at the bar, which was a bit off putting but to be expected. Nice pint of Guinness, polite but not overly friendly bar staff.

I liked how this pub was exclusively for drinks. Top-notch beer. Stella is always my go-to drink on a night out with friends. The live music was great. Another pro is that they are pet friendly.
