Really great experience here this week and cannot wait to return! The food was great and so reasonably priced for the portion size, the drinks were good and also super reasonable and the service was fantastic. We loved the pub feel that it had throughout and how central the location was to everything. We will definitely return!

Wow! The old Elephant and Castle has still got it! Tuesday night it’s packed because of the theatre crowd (us too) and we had the hot pies (yummy). And onion soup. Soup was authentic but a bit short on the onions. And our server Veronica cute as a button and so accommodating with a beautiful smile. Cost - inexpensive. We will be back!

I usually come here with my mother for a dinner before a performance at Roy Thompson Hall. Today, I got a Deluxe Burger and she got Fish and Chips. As always, it was very filling and delicious. The place itself has a very nice atmosphere and people frequent it as a sports bar. The staff is ample, fast, and friendly. Overall a delightful establishment.

Cool atmosphere, good location, and prices are reasonable given the area and local venues. Service was poor tonight, we couldn't even get a refill of our waters until we paid our bill. Feta appetizer was pretty good and the chips with the meal were delicious. Stay far away from the beef dip. Despite reading other poor reviews about the beef dip, I'm a sucker for a dip and had to try it. Sadly it was surprisingly bad and I suggest you order something else. The bun was cold and a gross texture(I'm guessing old/reheated), very different from the fresh crusty baguette we had with our whipped feta appetizer. The beef was chewy and despite the toppings, overall very bland. They also give you so little au jus, this was the first time I've ever run out while eating a beef dip.

I live right down the street from Elephant & Castle and come here all the time. They have a great serving staff, a good selection of pub food and a wonderful beer and alcohol menu. I think the best feature, however, is the location (Simcoe and King), kitty-corner to St. Andrews Church. It's a fairly big intersection, so there are lots of people and it's great for people watching on a sunny spring afternoon. I love the Elephant & Castle, So come on by and join me for a beer...

This place is definitely bigger than it appears. Lots of tables available for various sizes of groups and there is a healthy variety of customers (I noticed there were a lot more “older people” than you would see at other pubs). Staff here are friendly and service was quick given I came during a Raptors playoff game. Unfortunately as much as I would have liked to make this place one of my regulars, the food did not meet the same level of satisfaction. The fish and chips were apparently a pub favourite but I found it to be way too oily and the crust was too crumbly. Was hard to eat so I picked out the actual fish and left the crust on the side. The coleslaw was also pretty mediocre. The fries were the best part of the dish. I would come back for drinks only and would recommend coming here only for drinks and not for their food.

Great ambience, food & drinks! Got a table on a Friday night and loved being here. The music is not too loud and one can actually here the others on the table speak. Perfect place was food and drinks!! The flatbreads are great. The chicken on the skewers were okay. The fries and cocktails were great!

Really great food and vibe! Traditional British fare, service is quick and attentive, and prices are very reasonable. Would highly recommend and be back!

This is a spot to stop by for a pint or two. It may be better in the evening when it's busier, but the beef dip at lunch was very dry and the bread seemed stale. The chicken fingers were also very overcooked. The environment is okay, there are plenty of TVs in the bar area if you want to catch some of the game here. (For clarity, this was only half of the beef dip sandwich)

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The manager personally ensured our visit was a pleasant one after someone stole their wheelchair ramp thus limiting our stay to the patio. He could not apologize enough and ensured thing ran smoothly despite the rocky start. The food was incredible and our server was very attentive to our needs. We will definitely be back.

This place is really good! There was a line outside so I was glad we made a reservation. The service is great, the food was really good, a bit heavy but I ordered the shepherd’s pie so I should’ve seen it coming lol. Would absolutely recommend but definitely make a reservation.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Spacious dining room and a lot of screens to view your favourite sports. Try the pretzel bites and sauce for a tasty treat.

Truly loved this place and was a long time customer however, tonight's experience was enough to put me off. If this was my first time going, I would have walked right out after speaking to the hostess. She looked and seemed miserable to be there and was not very welcoming. We ordered our usual "treat" of specialty coffee and big Ben brownie. The brownie came and the ice cream was 1 baby scoop and melted. The whip cream was melted and foamy. It looked like it had been sitting out. Not to mention the 2 coffees cost me $28 because we were charged for 2 coffees and charged for the shots of baileys and kahlua put in them separately. When asked to speak with the manager, we were told they were too busy giving someone a break. Keep in mind there were only 3 tables seated. Was not busy at all. No follow up except for the hostess who said they would tell the server. The server was a very pleasant chap. So disappointed when you are trying to support local restaurants and that is what you get.

Will be tough to get me back to this circus. Was seated at 9:38pm and wasn't spoken to by any member of the staff until 9:58pm. Food wasn't entirely memorable, but was decent enough. We ordered fries as well but they never showed up at the table or on the bill, so we didn't push it. The atmosphere was in disarray; chicken wing bones on the floor and bathrooms needed attention. Asked for the bill twice from different servers. Lots of potential with space, however - outside patio and large indoor seating areas are available. Seems like this place was devoid of experienced management though. I'd be surprised if this place was still operating a year or so from now.

Visited this pub 01-Apr-2023 right before a performance in the nearby performance hall FOOD We ordered the following: CHICKEN WINGS- they are not breaded but the sauce made the wings delicious FISH & CHIPS- Oily but flavourful and tasty BAJA FISH TACOS- Flavourful with a little kick of Jalapeño peppers STEAK & MUSHROOM PIE- Very delicious, highly recommend THE WEE PIE FLIGHT- Sample size of all four types of pot pies; all delicious BIG BEN BROWNIE- The only disappointment, although very delicious it is not a brownie, it's chocolate cake. Very light, fluffy and paired well with the ice cream. Also it's a huge piece at least 2 can share comfortably. All of our drinks were great as well SERVICE The server was very attentive but not imposing; brought all items in a timely manner, great service for a busy location ATMOSPHERE A lot of fellow show attendees dined right before the show and the vibe was great; the place is tastefully decorated to give London pub feeling including the "loos" Prices are great for the location and quality of food, overall a great dinner spot fit a relaxing night out!

Ordered chicken pot pie, unexpectedly good taste. Also yum fries was great as usual. This place is huge and because we were a large party, sitting was a bit uncomfortable as they gave us the high table not the booth seats.

I wasn't going to post a review about this place but because it was so bad and it ruined my day twice I decided to call out this place. This is supposed to be a British pub so I figured the fish and chips should be good. When my fish arrived it looked amazing, I was so excited to dive into it. I took one bite and I could smell the old oil and grease. I attempted to dab the fish with a paper towel to see if I could get rid of some oil and still eat the fish. Wasn't going to happening. The waitress came over to ask about the meal, I pushed down on the fish with my fork and you could see all the oil. She offered to bring me another fish, unfortunately the new one was even worse. I didn't even take a bite, I turned the fish around and it was soaked in oil. I asked the waitress for a plate of fries, another disappointment, they were cold and had the same old oil and greasy smell. I ate half the plate because we were out for hours and I was starving. The manager and waitress did offer me something else from the menu, but by that time my wife was almost done with her pot pie, and I was done with the place. Now how it ruined my day twice, we get home and my stomach starts to feel weird, a few mins later I am in the bathroom, whatever fries I did eat wanted out my system one way or another.

The perfect place to watch the game! We came here for the world cup final, and everything was pretty perfect. Cozy seats, attentive staff, quick service, reasonably priced, not too loud - the Mediterranean flatbread is AMAZING! Very flavourful sauce. Only wish they had a brunch menu, or a standard breakfast option that could accommodate vegetarians (when asked if they could replace the bacon with something else it was a very prompt and curt ‘no’). Also, we had a bit of a first aid situation and the staff kindly provided us with a band aid and etc. thank u!!

We like Elephant and Castle for a nice pub hang. Been living in the neighborhood for over a year now and have been to the bar for many occasions. Great atmosphere for getting a drink or food with friends or colleagues or watching matches. Their food is m always hot, heavy and flavorful (yummy and greasy like bar food should be), great selection of beers too. Service is usually friendly and honest and quick to respond even when they're super busy. The place, however, is not accessibility friendly.

Was here for a conference pub night that used the back room. Service was good, there was a good cadence of food service. There were some issues with the sound system for making announcements etc. and later this led to a high volume feedback issue that took almost 3 mins to fix.

Service was quick and provided helpful recommendations by our server. The prices are affordable for a downtown restaurant. We had the chicken pot pie and the Cajun chicken wrap. Good comfort food meal! Will be back

Relaxed gastropub, downtown and a good ambience. Just be mindful when you ask for a whiskey-soda though, that’s what you’ll get. Definitely worth a visit

The ambience of this place is very inviting. The food is ok too. Three of us ordered the chicken Caesar wrap and all of us felt there could be more chicken in the wrap. Chicken sandwich was really good though. Overall good experience. The place wasnt busy for lunch time.

The staters of the sausage rolls were delicious as was the bread pudding. It reminded of home. I cannot say the same of the bangers and mash. They did not taste like the Bangers from London. I know that the restaurant tries to make them local, however, here is where the import is a good idea. The fountain drinks were also flat on that day. The service is very good. It was a busy night and I did not think that it would get that busy on a Thursday, the servers all did a great job.

Nice place. Server was nice and accommodating even though she is new. Guiness on tap was nice. They have really nice mixes of gins. Pretzel dip was great.

Great ambiance. Tasty food. Drinks are a little too diluted. Lemonade and coke to be specific. But it’s great overall

One of my go to pubs in town. I come here at least once every 2 weeks for the past 6 months. Their quality had been consistently good. Highly recommend their bread pudding. It's to die for. I brought friends and family here just for the bread pudding. Their deluxe burger and chicken pot pie are my favorites from here. Even their wings and fries are great. Huge thanks Jessica for always providing spectacular service!

Large restaurant. Speedy service as our meal came within 15 minutes. We told our server that we had a concert to attend to. Within walking distance of St. Andrew subway station.

Stopped in here before seeing a show at Mirvish. Very friendly, pleasant service. Nice atmosphere. Food was reasonably priced and arrived in a timely fashion despite restaurant being fairly busy. Standard quality food - would recommend the sweet potato fries which were tasty.

I recently visited Elephant & Castle and I must say that the service was great. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The cocktails were great too. I ordered a burger and starters and they were both great. The burger was cooked to perfection and the starters were delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very nice and cozy. The decor was beautiful and it made me feel like I was in a British pub. The prices were also very reasonable for the quality of food and service that we received. Overall, I had a great experience at Elephant & Castle and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal with great service.

This was our first time here before our TSO show on a Saturday night, and the place was huge! Our server, Lochlyn, was wonderful, and the food was good too. Overall, we had a great time. Keep up the good work!

Service-fantastic. Atmosphere- wonderful. Food- meh. The staff were incredible. They checked in often and made sure we had what we needed. They were all so kind! The atmosphere was cool- a multi level pub. Bathrooms are in a bit of a weird place, but it just adds to the charm. The food was okay. We all started with the ale and onion soup - it was alright. My onions were a bit on the harder side. Broth was okay. I probably would not order again, but it was fine. As an entree, i got the wee flight of pies. The portion was small but perfect after the soup. The pies were fine - the clear winner was the steak and mushroom - it was delicious! I dont think I'd get any of the others again. The rest of the party shared the bread pudding for dessert, and they said it was the best bread pudding they'd ever had.

Elephant & Castle is an institution down on King West across from Roy Thomson Hall. I've been coming here for many years, and the service is always friendly and welcoming from the moment you arrive. Inside it's a vast warren of booths and cosy corners, which helps give the impression of a far more intimate space. It doesn't feel like a big barn even though it can accommodate large groups. Great long bar is a fun place to sit with screens for watching games. Booths and tables are well spaced so you can definitely enjoy hanging out with your friends. Food has always been excellent and varied, with classic pub favourites and newer offerings to suit any taste. I enjoy choosing from the appetisers for snacks or to make up a meal, especially if I'm settling in for a while. For those wanting a sweet ending the bread pudding is a must try. Beer list excellent with old standbys and a good focus on local brews. Always a great mix of young and not so young patrons which keeps it fresh and lively. Be aware that it can get a trifle chilly so have an extra layer on standby, especially in summer. Steps and stairs can provide a bit of a challenge (I use a stick) but nothing is very steep and there are railings to assist.

Enjoyed this place, has a fun and interesting vibe. Arrived without a reservation, but they accomodated us anyway. Service was good and the menu has a lot of good selections. We opted for the Noble Salad with Salmon and the Steak and Chips, both were deliciously prepared and left us very satisfied. Before that, we kicked things off draught beers and Pretzel Bites. The Pretzel Bites were delicious, served with a tasty cheese and bacon dip which had a subtle taste of garlic. Everything was great, no complaints. Would eat here again with no hesitation, definitely reccomend.

Good place to grab dinner or a drink after work in the downtown area. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Had fries and the house red ale, which was really good and would recommend. Busy atmosphere on weekday afternoons especially if the jays are in town. Anyhoo, great place 👌

If you’re heading to a show or the TSO, this is a great spot to grab dinner. But be sure to make a reservation, it’s busy on show nights. A varied menu, we enjoyed trying a few different things. Nothing terribly outstanding- just basic comfort food. Good, not great burgers, for example. Some of the house-recipe cocktails are nice, and in our case, well prepared by our server, Lindsay, who was excellent. The restaurant itself sports a long bar with seating, so if that’s your jam, you can grab a spot there. The section we were in looked and felt tired and dated, you know- the old timey pub feel. Overall, we had an enjoyable meal. Again, location is everything.

For starters this is my second review here, the first time we had a few issues. We were invited back by Marty and I am very glad a took him up on that offer. Not only did they contact me with in hours of my review, they rectified the situation so I chose to come back before another show in Toronto. There food was fresh, hot and tasted delicious. They are really striving for a British pub atmosphere, (so check the football schedule they will be showing the games! And I’m not talking American football.) great music great atmosphere (no sports on we were here at 5:30 on a Monday.) I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great spot for some good food or to watch a game or for a true British pub experience! The GM even has a real authentic accent. Will return again!
