If you’re into books and reading then this is the cocktail bar for you. The book themed cocktail menu is interesting and from what I’ve heard, they update the menu once in a while. I really liked the Seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo cocktail. Every other drink I had was pretty good too.

Absolutely love the decor in this place! It would have taken me far too long to read every book on display but they're all iconic. The themed menu was superb and very amusing! My favourites were 'Fahrenheit 451' and 'Maybe in Another Life' (the drinks, not necessarily the books)! I'll be sure to come back for the vibe of the place and some fun with Scrabble! ('All the Seas of the World' is the blue drink in the pictures; the 'Fahrenheit 451' is the aptly orange, fiery looking one; 'Maybe in Another Life' is the red, cherry drink)

We came here for a cocktail-making class and did the Ernest Hemingway theme. The barkeep did an amazing job telling us about Ernest Hemingway's life and teaching us how to make various cocktails. We learned the difference between shaken and stirred drinks, learned what goes into making different liqueurs, and got to try a good variety of drinks (most of which were delicious and not the usual go-to's). We left pretty buzzed by the end, but I definitely appreciated the class, as it was entertaining and informative. Would recommend!

Cute place for a night out. Wouldn’t go here if you want something quiet on a friday. It took forever to get our drinks but they were delicious and servers were obviously running around trying to get everything done in a timely manner.

Beautiful bar with an incredible theme with excellent cocktails! If you are in the area it's absolutely worth stopping by. They also have a selection of non alcoholic cocktails which is really wonderful.

Great patio, great service, and great cocktails! We had drinks here before going for dinner locally and it was an excellent first stop for date night. Definitely worth the visit.

Famous Last Words is a boutique cocktail bar serving poetry for the distinguished palate. Their menu is curated by chapters, outlining a general tasting ranging from the light and frothy to the sultry and subtle. As the menu is concept forward, ordering invited a conversation piece with my table partner. An ideal tête-à-tête for a date night. We sampled two alcoholic cocktails and two non-alcoholic. Major kudos to this place for making non-alcoholic options a genuine part of their menu! Our drinks ranged in success. The “Everyone Brave is Forgotten” (pictured) was a particular standout. On the lesser end was the non-alcoholic “Lightning Thief” that attempted a somewhat confounding pear-walnut combination. On our way out, we were provided a list of events they host, all book related. A stand out was that you can bring your book club of 4+ members and they will make you a custom cocktail based on your read of the month/week. Would almost create one just to take advantage!

This is a half-baked review because I’ve only been here to try one mocktail, but it’s worth mentioning that the ambience and vibe of this bar is SO cozy, inviting and perfect for bookworms - I appreciated how chill it was on a Friday evening . Got louder throughout the night but you don’t go dead. I had a mocktail (name escapes me - lightning thief i think!) and it was quite small for $12, about 5 gulps, and slightly too lemony for my taste. Will be back to try their cleverly named cocktails!

I loved this place. The decor was so cozy and the staff was really nice. The cocktails are a bit small, but they tasted great. If I lived closer, I'd be here frequently, enjoying a book and a drink.

Visited there with a friend after dinner. We got a couple of great cocktails. It wasn't crowded. Very nice and quiet atmosphere. The drinks were perfect. I would definitely go back again.

We had “the shadow of the wind,” which was light and refreshing, “Everyone brave is forgiven,” which was a flavor eruption, and “The house of spirits,” which was our favorite, leaving a nice linger for the aftertaste, and “Fahrenheit 451” which was okay. I would definitely recommend the brave one. The atmosphere is cozy and not pretentious hipster. It would have been five stars if only the staff had let us take the table we wanted. I'm not too fond of it when the staff tells you where to sit. We came here when it was a blizzard outside, so it was clear it won't be a full house - why don't you let customers pick their sitting?

Had a really nice time here! Very cozy and comfortable seating area and the service was wonderful. We ordered several drinks and all of them were wonderfully crafted and delicious but my favourite by far was the “the house of spirits”. This drink was very refreshing and flavourful and left a very nice aftertaste. Would recommend this bar to any bibliophiles 😊

I don't think food was available. Therefore, I will not offer a rating on food. (The maraschino cherry was very good) The service was great. The cocktail menu was comprehensive and service responsive. I thoroughly enjoyed Midnight Magic and would recommend a stop here to anyone wanting an artisnal cocktail.

A great cocktail bar in the Junction. Reasonably priced cocktails (no $20 old fashioned here) mixed with expertise and care. Sat at the bar with a buddy, nice chat with the experienced and friendly bartender, chill atmosphere. Felt right at home.

This is a very hip cocktail bar!! Sure there are others that made "the List" in Toronto: the trendy places where immature, illiterate college kids hang "this season" but this is the real, literary deal for the ones "in the know". Lucas is very knowledgeable about cocktails and the Midwest "Liquor Set." The service is impeccable and always friendly. I also like the Post Punk music played at this bar; gives it a real literary ambiance. Highly recommend it on your next night out in the cutting edge "The Junction"!

The cocktails are yummy and super fun! I literally got things that sounded like description of who I am! Haha! However you choose yours, I’d recommend going! Great date spot or a cute spot to read your book, while enjoying something beyond a latte

Finally visited on Friday night after anticipating for over a year upon hearing about this place. Had three drinks each and snacks and definitely felt a difference in the way we were being treated by the wait staff in comparison to the other people around us. No smiles, no warmth, and basically had to force the bartenders to converse and interact with us. When it came to other tables, the wait staff seemed way more welcoming and open to service. Coming from someone in the industry, their customer service fell short which is a shame considering it is such a cool spot. Unique spots like this should prioritize their service as well as the products they put out. I consistently felt like I wasn't welcomed, acknowledged and was a burden to serve. I loved the drinks, especially the one with the coconut washed whiskey.

Such a literary libations fancy! Had a wonderful experience and enjoyed the "Gone with the wind"!!! The vibes are relaxing and the ambience is library chic. Check out my photo of the reciept! So nostalgic!!

Hands down my favourite bar in Toronto! The staff is always lovely, and their events (book trivia or cocktail classes) are fantastic. I’m so glad to see that it’s chugging along even after the pandemic. While some would argue that the drinks are pricy, I think you are paying a reasonable amount for the level of ambience, care, and service you’re receiving (also in this economy!) Everyone I know has been delighted when I eventually take them here!

Super fun cocktail bar themed around famous literary works. Excellent and original cocktails, fun and knowledgeable staff and a cool vibe inside. Overall, I highly recommend this spot if you are a cocktail fan looking for a great new place to try in Toronto.

Not sure if they will survive the pandemic, but I hope they do. This is a cool and unique, almost speakeasy type place. Great spot to hang out before a restaurant reservation is ready, or to meet friends for a cocktail. Can't wait to go back

We had wonderful time here. The private booking class we did was best ever we did during our trip to Toronto. This was very informative and fun to make our own drinks. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We would recommend to everyone to come visit this place and try their class for a good experience that you will never forget. Or just come for the drinks, it's well worth it. Special thanks to the owner for accommodating us 3 people for private class.

Very cozy atmosphere - perfect for curling up with a good book if you're craving a different atmosphere. Granted, it's not cheap, but the cocktails were delicious and the staff were very kind. I had also inquired, by email, about bringing in a larger group of people in the future and they were very responsive and helpful. They have special Tuesday events for fellow bookworms that you can look into if you're interested!

I love this spot. Cozy and clever, the bar is made with Scrabble tiles, the walls full of books and the cocktails are one-of-a-kind. Fantastic service. Highly recommended.

Came here to try as it was a unique and cute little spot. Not a whole lot of tables available, mostly small so you can’t come here with a large group. Drinks here are unique and made well. They aren’t watered down and we’re priced decently. As another reviewer mentioned, they don’t serve food so make sure you eat before.

Speechless. This is the bar every book lover should know of. The ambience speaks for itself but I really want to emphasize how much care I saw in the details, from the color-coded shelves to the “Jane Austens” on the ladies washroom door. I loved all the drink names and the menu itself. It is a bit pricey but with that service and atmosphere I didn’t mind one bit. Totally coming back.

This amazingly cute little bar is an avid readers paradise. The atmosphere it's self is beautiful put together with a very high attention to detail. The menu is incredibly fun. It's broken up in to different chapters for various types of drinks. Every drink is named after a book and inclues fun a quote. The drink titles all tie in nicely to the ingredients. The bartender was very knowledgeable and the right amount of attentive. Best of all the music selection comes right from the bars record collection. There is a nice little patio out front for those warmer days as well.

Fantastic cocktail bar - pricy but a fun experience. Inviting cozy atmosphere with unique creatively themed décor and cocktails. A must if you're a book lover. Fireplace indoors, and patio for the warmer months - perfect.

Delicious cocktails! A Tail of Two Cities is great! My wife got The Heart Goes Last and was also quite good. Definitely recommend this place for a drink. The drink menu reads like a book. Very creative. We were a little unsure of the theme at first, but it fits. The bar is also lots of fun to try and find words and authors. Check it.

This is one of the most unique spots in the city. They have a great craft beer selection and top notch cocktails. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

I am not really a fan of cocktails but this bar made some excellent cocktails, the atmosphere was good, the aesthetic was great, the service was very good. The price was decent, maybe a bit higher than I expected, having said that I generally wouldn't be able to tell you the going rate of a cocktail in Toronto. Definitely worth checking out.

👍 Good food as always! Convenient. Kids friendly. One star less because in the men’s washrooms there is no arrangement for baby diapers change. I managed it somehow but for a single dad with baby it is not convenient. I hope management would put up something to resolve it. Thank you.
