Overall, interesting flavour combinations and nice presentation - held back significantly by speed of service and planning (in my opinion). Food - 3/5 for the price point. We had the seven course tasting menu and all dishes were plated quite nicely. Unfortunately George is not a Michelin starred restaurant so you won’t get that level of food - but it is passable for a tasting menu. Definitely a bit under par for price point - at about $150pp I usually expect more high end ingredients (I.e. wagyu, bluefin, lobster, etc) Service - 5/5 for waiters, 1/5 for timing. Honestly this is no slack to the staff, everyone who waited on us was very friendly and welcoming. The main issue was timing - the seven course menu took over 3.5 hours to complete, with a 45 minute gap between course 3 and course 4. This is especially aggravating due to it being a tasting menu - thus the portions are very small (as they usually are). Honestly God bless our waiter Jacob - he apologized for the wait and they put the drinks on the house to compensate. Please be aware that you will be waiting very long though - the 10 course is supposed to take 4-5 hours to complete. We would highly recommend you get multiple rounds of bread so you don’t starve to death in between courses ($3 each btw).

What a lovely place for a dinner date night! The restaurant hit the right spot! If it wasn’t a Tuesday night, we would’ve tried the wine pairing. We ended up choosing the 7-course Tasting Menu and was blown away by each and every course. What’s amazing is each person receives a different dish; 14 different dish! Our food kept coming and coming and not one dish disappointed! The 5-course would’ve definitely be more than enough, but the 7-course was an amazing choice for our first visit. Can’t wait to return and try their A La Carte menu. The atmosphere was lovely and would ask to be seated in the middle next time to really take in the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Amazing experience. We had the vegetarian tasting menu. We had a wide variety of gourmet dishes. Very creative, perfectly balanced and a unique night. Our thanks to the chef and the team.

We had the 7 courses degustation meal with pairing wines. The food is original and we were disappointed with only one plate that they changed for something else. Wines are great and Christina describe them perfectly! Plates are big ! 7 courses is a lot at George. Great experience

A grand evening at George for a dual birthday celebration at the Chef’s table, where a playful Chef Lorenzo served three of our ten courses, and photobombed us. A perennial favorite and one of Toronto’s top two restaurants. Divine food creations, brilliantly creative flavors, stellar plating that is their hallmark, impeccable warm hospitality. Highest recommendation!

We had the most exceptional experience. It was a 7 course tasting menu with outstanding wines to pair with. Each course was unique but all of them were outstanding in their own way. I cannot wait to go back!

Ordered a 3 course lunch menu, vegetarian for take out. Was pleasantly surprised with the level of depth, texture and flavour while working with avocado (appetizer), tofu (main) and lemon (dessert). Vegetarian meals are often hard to capture well for fine dining as most restaurants stick to pasta only dishes but that is not the case, but they did a phenomenal job. Every meal is well thought out and very delicious. Will definitely be returning.

Exceptional tasting menu and wine pairing. Clearly a deep cellar thoughtfully integrated with the creative and satisfying dishes. Five courses were supremely satisfying but the ten is so tempting. Will have to come back when I have four hours to indulge. Highlights include the tuna tartare, foie gras, ribeye, and venison in the comfy and cool French bistro vibe.

I did not expect when we (2 people) ordered the 10 tasting course to be treated with 20 unique dishes. I would say the 7 course is definitely more than enough for a meal to be completely satisfied but damn, the effort they put in was astronomical. I don't consider myself an expert in any of this, and it is not in my scope to tell you if you should spend over 100 dollars per person on a meal, but I think the magical element is that the food legitimately tastes fantastic. My favourites were the tuna tartare, the octopus and quail egg, and the desserts.

GEORGE Restaurant is a hidden gem, in Toronto. My beautiful wife and I had our 2021 wedding anniversary here and we were very happy that we did. From start to finish, the experience was a very good one. The drinks were tasty and the meals were plated like artwork. Everything was delicious and the presentation was amazing.

The blind tasting menu (chef’s choice) is available in 5, 7, or 10 courses but 5 is more than enough to satiate even the biggest appetite. Each dish has a wonderful combination of flavours but what really sets this restaurant apart is the variety. The two of us ordered the 5 course and we were each served different dishes which allowed us to try a total of 10 dishes. The menu starts with an amuse bouche, followed by a chilled seafood dish, a foie gras, meat, cheese, and then dessert. My personal favourites of the night were the king oyster mushroom amuse bouche, the crab, the squab foie, the boar, the thea cheese, and the lemon tart. Our server, who was excellent, suggested the City of Lights and Peachy Keen cocktails and he did not disappoint. Peachy Keen is especially great if you’re not too keen on the taste of alcohol.

George is definitely my favorite fine dining in Toronto. It provides consistent high quality and tasty food. And they always made my booking so easy! I have been going with my family who are vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters. It is not easy to find a fine dining experience that's accommodating for all. The food was excellent, service was fast and friendly, great selection of wine and drinks. Nothing to complain about.

We planned to come here for the tasting menu but as we made reservations we noticed they had an event that combined drinks and appetizers at bar Secrette and a 3 course meal at the restaurant so we chose this instead. Bar: stylish, cozy but unfortunately empty (one other couple) so the atmosphere was lacking a bit but it was early in the evening. The cocktails were delicious , flavourful and interesting so were the appetizers. Restaurant: the part that really stood out was the service at George. The staff makes you feel very welcome and special. My Lobster salad was delicious and presentation spot on. Atmosphere was a bit too stiff for me.

Review for vegetarian menu! We had the 5 course tasting menu. I had the vegetarian option and my partner had the meat option. The service was amazing and there was a good variety of flavors on my plates, which was appreciated. I have to take off one star because my "main" was a block of unseasoned tofu with sauce on top. I absolutely hate when restaurants, especially nice restaurants, don't put enough thought into their vegetarian dishes. Tofu is a blank slate, you can't expect it to be flavourful or have a good texture on its own. This was the only course I didn't finish because it was so bland and disappointing. If they change that in the future, I'd give them 5 stars.

I had an incredible dining experience at George. The tasting menus are a must-try. Their exceptional accommodation of allergies adds to the overall fantastic experience. Undoubtedly, one of Toronto's best restaurant that you shouldn't miss when in the city.

George is definitely one of the finest places to dine in the city and one that will take your taste buds on a roller coaster. We were lucky enough to try the 10 course tasting menu with the 10 wine pairings and we were in for a surprise. The staff are very knowledgeable with everything on your plate to the wine paired with it. Everyone in Toronto needs to try George at least once. It's truly an ideal place to impress your loved one through a night of dining you both won't forget

Ordered 4 course tasting menu. Really good. While the portions may look small, but when eaten together did feel full and satisfied. All of the containers used were plant based which was a nice touch. Everything in the photos is how it was plated. Everything was packed nicely and in a big box, so easy to transport home.

My partner and i had a wonderful date night at GEORGE. We had 5 course tasting menu and it was absolutely amazing! Service was great too! We had limited time, but Rob, who was our server, took care of us and called a cab, so we could be in our next destination in time. (we were late anyway but it’s on us😅) The restaurant itself looks beautiful and has a great atmosphere. Of course, our bill had lots of numbers, but it was absolutely worth it! Thank You!

Amazing 7 course fine dining serve by attentive and professional server Paul. Wine is well paired with every dishes by cheerful Dilan. Serving was reasonably prompt meal after meal with lively young lady (didn’t get her name) introducing the ingredients for each plate served. Overall a positive experience.

THE. BEST. The beat restaurant in Ontario. The best quality of service, the best quality and craftsmanship of food, the best knowledge of wines and pairing. I am vegetarian and I tell them that then say, bring me whatever the chef wants to prepare tonight and I ALWAYS receive the BEST dining experience. My visits here are among my favourite memories.

Came here for our birthdays. Rustic yet elegant decor and seating. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Accommodating celiac was a piece of cake for them - which is something I rarely come across. Every ingredient involved has a part in creating these exquisite unique and very flavourful dishes. In conclusion, if i was rich, I would be here 2 times a week... ate least!

Highly recommend the signature tasting menu which is available in five, seven, or ten courses. The seven-course tasting menu for two people was 14 different dishes, plus two different amuse-bouches! It was a unique dining experience and it's well worth it for a special occasion dinner. Amazing food, beautiful presentation, and it was a filling meal. Menu standouts include the foie gras, tuna tartare, and scallop ceviche. I'm still thinking about that foie gras -- such a rich and buttery flavour. There is also a vegetarian signature tasting menu and an à la carte menu. The downside was that we didn't know that they charge $5 for bread until we got the bill.

The 7 course tasting menu was a perfect food experience for the price, and made for an excellent birthday celebration. Each course was created and presented with care, and I left feeling quite full (but not overfull). The best part of the experience was that for each course, they prepare a different dish for each person - so you can try even more dishes and flavours. We also tried a couple cocktails which are excellent, and the restaurant also has an extensive wine menu - with the possibility of adding wine pairings to the tasting menu as well.

Tasting menu food came out an hour late. Bread was not warm. We had to ask for butter 3 times. Service was terrible. Servers were not happy, did not explain most of the dishes, did not care about how our experience was going, not engaging. Poor training for sure. Food was tasty and diverse. Would not go back. Not worth the price for the ‘experience’.

This year George Restaurant performed impeccably, again. After one year hiatus, we went back for our Department Holiday Season Celebration. We hosted 100+ guests. The food was amazing despite they had to serve 100+ people at the same time. The service was also amazing and professional. Thank you Caroline (Private Dining Manager) for the support in organizing and the attention to details. Thank you Natalie (sommelier). And thank you to all George staff. Andrea

Went to the restaurant with very high expectations unfortunately it did not live up to them. While the presentation was really good, the food lacked flavor and the overall taste was bland. We went for a la carte option and ordered the lobster tartare and rabbit for starters. Lobster was really bland and we could barely taste the lobster, it was mostly vegetables that we could taste. Rabbit was actually really good and cooked perfectly and sauce was flavourful. It took 45 min to bring the first appetizer and another 30 for second. For main we ordered the halibut which was same story as lobster, lacking flavor and was also cold in the middle. Sauce was barely lukewarm. By the time the mains came out we were already waiting for almost 2 hours. We lost the appetite at that point of time and didn't bother with the dessert. Our servers were good and explained the dishes well. They even offered a complimentary dessert when we mentioned about the food being not to our liking. Overall I feel disappointed and didn't have a great experience.

I had the best experience ever! My first time dining at George and it was just divine! I highly recommend the tasting menu, every dish was even more delicious than the last and that is saying a lot. I’m a person with a severe allergy to tree nuts/peanuts, so I never really get to experience blind tasting but dining here gave me the opportunity to do so as which was very nice. Lastly, our server Enzo couldn’t have been more delightful! I was taken aback when he offered to call for a taxi cab and even walked me down the stairs as I was wearing heels. Very attentive and thoughtful, a pleasure.

We made reservations online and arrived a bit early. Already had 2 groups ahead of us. We got seated at a spacious table, and offered with flat or sparkling water. Opt for the 7 course menu. The server explain to us that the 7 course menu is not a lot more than the 5 course in terms of portion, but just more varieties. We added wine pairing as well. For 2 people, all the dishes are different, so for example, we opt for the 7 course menu, we have 14 different dishes. The wine pairing are also different (mostly, but some dishes they serve the same wine). Food 4 star only, reason is it's pretty repetitive. For example, there's carrots in 2-3 dishes, AND they all taste sour (probably due to marinated in vinegar). The scallop dish ....the scallop has a very light taste, no sweetness at all. Red meats and foie gras are pretty good. Portion is sufficient/ make sense for the pricing. Service 4 star because 1) some waitress/ waiter has strong accents and I cannot understand what are they saying when they explain the dishes. Very difficult to communicate. 2) Sometimes to food comes before the sommelier, so we have to wait for the wine to come before we eat and the food gets cold. For a high-end restaurant like George, I expect a seamless experience.

The place is very nice. The tasting menu is very interesting and a must try. However, unfortunately, there have been few mistakes not expecting by a restaurant by its standing. First was serving us plates that were for another table and got taken our immediately, second, we mentioned specifically no bacon and no foie gras, and we got served both, and it is only while the waiter was explaining the plates, we realised and mentioned it otherwise no one noticed! Having said that, the restaurant remains exceptionally good and a must try if in Toronto.

We’ve dined here two to three times per year for the past 6 years. Anniversaries, birthday, or just cause. The service is impeccable, and the food is intoxicating. Go here, highly recommend. My review above is based on all my previous visits, and not my 11 year anniversary celebratory dinner last weekend with my wife. No, my recent experience was a 5 star for the food, but the overall service was lacking. The guys that clean up the tables in between courses as usual always friendly, recognized us from past dinners. The hostess was lack lustre. She didn’t offer coat check and let us beginning walking to our table with our wet jackets, fortunately we know there’s coat check and had to initiate to ask for it. It seemed like a neither here nor there for them. No pleasantries, no real welcoming vibe. But the other disappointment was our waiter, overall he was nice, however he wasn’t invested or checked in to us. He never introduced his name and he offered no conversation, didn’t ask us if we were celebrating an event, didn’t pour the wine to taste, before filling the glass. And in the end no wishes or on the final dessert plate saying happy anniversary. We did indicate when booking the reservation online that it was our anniversary, and in past these celebrations were acknowledged by the Restaurant. Seeing the disappointment on my wife's face after paying the bill, I imposed on the waiter saying it was our anniversary. He mentioned he had something and went to the kitchen and hustled up a small plate that could barely fit the words in chocolate. It felt like a last minute gesture. Perhaps he was having a bad day, however this is not the service we have come to know and expect from this restaurant. I loved this restaurant because the food is divine but also because the service was superior and that combined made the George experience. Not this past weekend though, George was out of office. In all the years this is our first deflated experience, hopefully next time it will be back to what it’s always been, top notch.

Came here for an anniversary dinner and holy hell this place is worth the hype. I have never been to this caliber of restaurant before so maybe I'm a bit biased but this blew me away! We sat on the beautiful courtyard patio which was so intimate and romantic. The service was impeccable, sommelier Patrick was unbelievably knowledgeable and let us ask him a million questions. We tasted a couple wines and had a bottle of Mother Rock Holocene from 2020 on his recommendation and it was such a zippy and interesting wine! The food was outstanding, presentation was unbelievable. Each dish was explained to us by the lovely servers who were all so nice! We had the 7 course vegetarian tasting menu - and my partner and I were each served DIFFERENT dishes! Plus an "amuse bouche compliments of the chef" which was so nice. Each dish was so interesting and delicious, we had lengthy conversations about each trying to identify flavours. Just amazing. And they even decorated our dessert plates with a Happy Anniversary wish! So thoughtful. The experience took us about 3.5 hours. Would recommend this to anyone celebrating a special occasion. Very pricey of course but worth every penny. I didn't take a ton of photos because I wanted to be off my phone but hopefully these give you an idea of the artistry at play here!

I can’t say enough about this dining experience. We live in Vancouver and come to Toronto once a year and ALWAYS dine at George when we come. The food is impeccable. The chef is an artist, a genius at assembling flavours and sending a beautiful plate to your table every single time. The ambience is warm and inviting, relaxing and comfortable. I have to mention one of the best waiters we have ever had the pleasure of being served by. Enzo. Thank you. Your warmth, your calm, professional, perfect service has made each dining experience so special. You are a gift. Thank you! We will see you next year!

Unique experience, friendly wait staff. Menu was thoughtfully curated. Great selection of vegetarian dishes available for their tasting menu. There was so much variety in the flavors that not one dish tasted the same. The only downfall I would say was how long the 10 course tasting menu took to get through. We were there for close to 4 hours. I wish we were warned ahead of time. The pace started off great but got a bit slow in the middle as the restaurant got a bit busy. Other than that, had a really great time.

Tried the 5 course tasting menu and really impressed the combination of the flavors. Monk fish is really tasty, it's an explosion in the mouth with mango relish and lobster bit. I had lamb chops for one of my course and I really enjoyed the contrast and balance of this dish. I found some sun dried tomatoes (maybe? It felt like sun dried tomatoes..)while enjoying the lamb and the potato pierogi and the squash purée --- it was a true suprise! The service is impeccable and I really enjoyed my night here.

Our server was amazing. She was very polite and an overall delight. The hostess(female) has too much attitude for working the front of a restaurant. Food presentation was on point. So much so I think they forgot the flavour side of the dishes. :| Food was mid at best . And considering how much we paid,we were extremely underwhelmed and disappointed. Cheese plate felt like a lazy(and cheap) way to get you another 'plate' And I guess it's a sign of the times. But the place was not very busy at all. The atmosphere was lacking a bit. I'm not sure we will be back for a second chance. There are so many great spots in this city.

Bravo GEORGE Restaurant! This is what fine dining in Toronto is all about. We're still on cloud nine after the beautiful evening we had at this gorgeous restaurant. They handled our dinner party exceptionally well. All of my family and guests were so impressed by the quality of food and level of service. A big thank you to Mark, Alex, Eli, John, and Chef Lorenzo and his team, who all offered an exceptional dining experience that truly made our night so special! Also, a warm thank you to Anna, George Restaurant's event planner. Anna's highly communicative, honest and flexible approach made planning our event a fun and effortless experience. The food - Phenomenal! Delicious and aesthetically stunning dishes. Each course was carefully crafted, cooked to perfection and plated so beautifully. The portions were just right. For a fine dining establishment, they were surprisingly quite big. Overall, we were very content with the calibre of food and the quality of service provided. If you're looking for a new favourite restaurant in Toronto, GEORGE Restaurant is a must try! A truly incredible venue to host all of your dinners and events.

Posh & eclectic. We chose the blind 7 course Chefs choice. Everything course was phenomenal. Each dish was a flavor explosion. I’ve never experienced anything like this before and I’m so glad I did. Keep your eye out on this place… I’m sure a Michelin Star will be next. Our waiter Chris was incredible and extremely knowledgeable. Elijah the manager was wonderful. This is a definite must stop for something out of the box.

We dine worldwide and have been to some of the best. Greeting was lackluster and unfriendly. Service was okay by main server when we saw her but that was rarely due to the succession of young folks seemingly in training. The dishes were over salted or lacking in flavor. Sommelier could not be bothered to assist with wine pick, too busy with those with wine pairings which only one couple around us was doing? We would not return, have no idea how this is a 2 star Michelin in the least to be honest. We have had far better meals at other places in TO. Sad for my husbands 56th birthday, I was hopeful. Sadly disappointed!

I've greatly enjoyed my visits, well worth the money. Incredibly attentive staff, they will even bother to check in on your personal tastes and you'll find customized per person tasting items often come out. The kitchen is totally open and watching them work is incredibly impressive. The sommelier is on point with their suggestions. Any dish I've eaten there was beyond reproach. The whole place feels like a celebration of food that everyone in the whole building gets to be in on.

Beautiful and cozy setting at the courtyard. I really need to give credit to their thoughtfulness. Sheepskin on every seat, heater underneath the table, patio gas heater beside every table. Blanket will be provided if you still feel cold. I love the varieties of the tasting menu options. Presentation and plating were quite impressive. Trout and lambs dishes were my favourite dishes. I’m looking forward to go back again after the lockdown ends in Toronto.

This is my favorite restaurant. I find myself coming here often and instead of the tasting menu, resorting to my favorite dish, the beef tenderloin. I usually just order the Tuna, Beef, and a dessert. Cannot go wrong with that combo. Edit: I came here again and the waitress today was AMAZING. Service was the best, food was amazing in the 5 course. Wine was on point as well.

It was my birthday and felt I could have a special evening at George with my closest friends. The ambiance was absolutely lovely. The service was on par. The meats were really good and perfectly cooked - but too many flavours in the accompanying parts. Instead of elevating the taste of the meat, they overpowered. Taking something that would be perfect when done simply, into too much all at once. It would take something very special for me to go back. I am giving three stars based on the over complexity of the food, but the wine and ambiance, service were great.

We were here for an anniversary dinner after Stage 3 re-opening. All staff and guests had to wear masks in all public areas. Extremely filling vegetarian 5 course to the point where when we weren't able to finish a dish, we had to actually ensure that it was because of our limited appetite and nothing to do with the dish. From this, to their courteous service to wishing us for our anniversary (mentioned during reservation), the attention to detail was evident throught our dining. We absolutely loved it and look forward to celebrating another special ocassion there.

This place is the bomb dot com. We did the 7 course blind tasting menu with wine pairing and my god was it phenomenal. Flavour explosions.

We had an incredible evening at George restaurant! The dishes were delicious, diverse, well presented and sophisticated. The portions were perfect (we had the 5 course tasting menu). Paul, our waiter, was very attentive, kind and passionate! I would recommend that restaurant to anybody! Yes, the price definitely worth it! recommend

Went here for anniversary - they did such a great job creating a beautiful courtyard outside space. Food is so good, service is amazing ( especially sommelier of the wine pairings. They go above and beyond.

My wife and I did the 5 course tasting menu. It was a magical journey through heaven. The service was amazing, atmosphere of the heated patio was very beautiful and romantic. It was expensive but definitely worth the dining experience.

A delightful and delicious experience. Beautiful venue and amazing staff. Professional, and very mindful of allergies. My belly is full and I'm happy! Would highly recommend for dinner or an event. The beef tenderloin and dessert were my two favorites!

We went there for a dinner date. I indicated it when I booked the table, but there was no indication they received the message. My Seconds dish - duck with aebleskiver was disappointing as the duck meat was rubbery and luke warm. The rest of the meal was delicious and perfectly composed visually and delectable. We got 5 courses tasting menu which were all well explained to us. The sever did not have a name tag and we never learned his name. Overall disappointing for all the hype and $$$$$. Would not go back.

Perhaps the finest experience I have ever had in Toronto. This is the move if you want to host an event that will make a statement. The food, service, and ambiance can give the finest of establishments in NY/LA a run. Incredibly well done 👏👌

We were so pleased to have our wedding at George restaurant. The space and staff helped make planning a COVID-19 wedding such a breeze. There is a beautiful courtyard for an intimate and well ventilated event. Sonia Dhillon in particular helped smooth out the process and was with us every step of the way. We look forward to returning to the restaurant to relive some of the magic during our anniversary dinners at George restaurant. Photo credit to Tracey from Snapful Photography.

I celebrated my nomination today in this fine place. I am glad to say that we passed a magnificent evening and the restaurant was no doubt the reason for this successful gathering. The stuff cooperated in a splendid way, the cuisine was very good and my friends were extremely pleased. We shall definitely come back again for more celebrations. Thank you very much.
