I recently dined at Canoe restaurant with a group of four on a Friday evening at 6 PM, and I must say it was an incredible experience. We had reserved a week ahead of time, and I highly recommend doing so because this place fills up fast. We opted for the tasting menu, and it exceeded our expectations. The dishes were not only delicious but also beautifully presented in unique and original ways. The creativity and attention to detail were evident in every bite, and there was a consistent theme that tied the whole menu together. The service at Canoe was top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the dishes and wine pairings. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable dining experience. One of the highlights of our evening was the breathtaking views. We were fortunate enough to catch the sunset, and it created an amazing atmosphere. The restaurant's location allows for stunning vistas, making it a truly remarkable dining setting. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Canoe restaurant. The excellent food, consistently positive experiences, and remarkable atmosphere make it a must-visit. It has become one of my regular dining destinations, and I can't wait to return for more culinary delights.

From the very beginning of planning our wedding we knew Canoe would be the perfect venue for us to bring all our friends and family together in Toronto for celebrations. We had a perfect day being 54 floors up in the sky and looking endlessly over the whole city. We had a small wedding of about 40 people (Canoe holds up to 150 people) so it was perfect a space for everyone to spread out and enjoy. The food was impeccable and just amazing. Not one dish was a disappointment and we loved creating the perfect menu for our guests, even being able to cater to those who had a gluten intolerance and any allergies. There was a great selection of drinks and the service was great, everyone was very much well catered for from wine to great cocktails. All the servers made each of our guests comfortable. We had our own server and he was incredible. He even ensured when we got up to speak to guests that our food was kept warm for us. He was actually the first to greet us upon arrival, he immediately got us water and prepared a vase with water for my bouquet. Although the overall day was great, we did have a few things go wrong on the day which were caused by the building not allowing access to the loading dock and we feel management could have assisted and dealt with this a lot better. We feel things would have ran much smoother if we had an earlier access to the space or somewhere to store some of our items prior to the time we were allotted. After our wedding, we did contact Canoe to discuss the issues and concerns which we feel they dealt with it well by taking the time with us to discuss matters even after we returned back to the UK. They were apologetic, understanding and ensured we would return happy in future.

Great service! Great food! Good ambiance! Our server was amazing! We had a reservation but were not sat at a window seat as requested, but our server waited till one opened up and moved us over. A little bit pricey of course but well worth it for a special evening! The food was amazing but dessert was only mediocre. The cocktails were very interesting and the wine list was great!

I must say that our dining experience was rather disappointing. While the Chicken Wing starter was recommended by the server, the portion size was notably small for the higher price point. The Wild Pacific Halibut and King Cole Duck mains also left much to be desired in terms of portion size and overall flavor. Unfortunately, the food was not particularly memorable. Furthermore, the service was subpar, with our servers mixing up our main courses and failing to apologize even after being corrected. This lack of attentiveness was quite off-putting. Following our underwhelming mains, we found ourselves disheartened and uninterested in exploring the dessert menu. The only redeeming aspect of the evening was the stunning downtown night view, which provided a pleasant backdrop to an otherwise lackluster dining experience. Also, the seating arrangements felt cramped, and we could easily overhear conversations from the adjacent tables. This lack of privacy detracted from the overall ambiance and made it difficult to fully enjoy our meal. We encountered challenges when attempting to navigate our way out of the restaurant, as the layout seemed to contribute to congestion and made the departure process less than seamless. I would advise managing your expectations if you choose to dine here.

My husband and I were visiting from the Niagara region. We had booked this reservation weeks ago! It was worth the wait… we shared the chefs tasting menu. I have some food allergies and they were very careful to pay attention to that. Two courses were especially prepared for me. Our server explained every stage of the menu and was very attentive and friendly. We will go back!! What a great experience!!

My first visit here, on my husband's recommendation, as it's his favourite restaurant in Toronto. We ate with our son in law and daughter, who we haven't seen for some time, they live in Vancouver, and we, in England. So, it was a big occasion for us and I was hoping for a great experience! I was NOT disappointed, quite the opposite. Our food was sublime, the service attentive, knowledgeable and professional whilst being warm and welcoming, and the venue itself is contemporary, smart and really very tasteful. We ate every morsel of food, had wonderful mock and cocktails, and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and the magnificent views. The only thing I'd change? That it was on my doorstep. Compliments to the entire team at this incredible place!!

Fabulous dining experience. Waiter was so personable. We had the chef’s tasting and the every course was exquisite and complex and totally outstanding. The gin and tonic course was quite a pleasant surprise of flavors. Love how they bring them out and explain them. So much goes into each of them. The atmosphere is stunningly beautiful at night.

Great place and great service. But you are really just paying for the views. We were unfortunately seated not at the window. So no views. The food was okay but overall the pricing was way overpriced. Two people came up to $250. Ironically compared to the CN Tower 360 restaurant that was our view, i will 100% recommend that over this one. Same price but better views and better food/ quality. I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately the expensive pricing and portion was not up to my standards. I am truly surprised that this place over booked. One easy suggestion that I can make is let your customers know that there is free parking downstairs. I might have giving you a 4 stars instead.

I loved my experience here. Came here for our anniversary dinner on our short trip to Toronto. The view and the service was top of the notch! My husband and I had the tasting menu and it was a lot of food! I was so stuffed but it could be I ate so much on this whole trip! My reservation was at 7:30pm so I saw the whole sunset over the whole Toronto and the night view. Everything was so amazing. Definitely will come back when the next time I’m in town!

We absolutely loved everything about this. I took my wife here for her birthday and we are both vegans so we tried the vegan tasting menu. As with all tasting menus, there's some to love and some are more bleh. We were absolutely stunned at how delicious most of the items were (except the tomato). The soup and risotto were the highlights. Banana peppers really stood out. The service was excellent and the ambiance & view was amazing and they even had cute little birthday cards at the table. If you want a seat with a good view, try to book in early around 530. It does suck that they can't hold the "good seats" for a later time period like the sunset.

Beautiful ambience, everyone we encountered was extremely friendly which helped make the experience that much better. The food was extremely well made and very delicious. We enjoyed our evening, made some new memories and had a fantastic view of the city the entire time. Thank you to the entire staff, the chefs who prepared our meals and especially our waiter who was diligent, made excellent recommendations and kept our glasses full until the bottle ran out! We'll definitely be back! PS: The Elk Loin is TO DIE FOR! Thanks again and keep up the great work! IG: @m.1554_

Just went last night and i had to say this time the tasting menu was a bit disappointed. Most dishes are too salty and greasy. I went Canoe many times in the past and this menu is the worst of all. On the good side, service is good as usual. I suggest to go early like 5pm so you can see the dark blue sky turning into dark. Parking is waived after 5:30pm but the parking office let us go as long as you show him the complimentary card from Canoe. As for food, I suggest to wait for the next menu to come.

Wonderful Experience. The tasting menu we tried was one of a kind. Very unique and well-thought when it comes to the presentation of the food. The waiters are also very professional. A few of the courses I felt could have been better. There was a dish called pigs trotter which we did not enjoy too much. It was overall a great fine dining experience with spectacular views from the 54th floor of the TD building. I would recommend it to anyone who's ok with spending a bit to indulge in some unique fine dining cuisine.

The soup was excellent. The presentation of the food was excellent. And apparently the steak and frittes were terrific. The fish (salmon and halibut dishes) were extremely heavy for fish dishes. The service was very helpful but quite slow, particularly bringing out the coffees and the cheque. Overall the experience was consistent with my prior visits.

We had a very warm welcome and the staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. Out of luck we were seated in a private area and had a very quiet and intimate dinner. The view of downtown Toronto and the lake was splendid. Coming here on a stormy night is recommended as you see the lightning strike. We tried their set menu and every bite was an explosion of flavours! Wonderful dining experience and pacing overall.

This is a fine dining - food tasting and culinary experience. You will appreciate the decor and ambulance while alongside terrific service. Food quality matches the expectation you find at other like restaurants and the service might be the best in the city. You should make a reservation if you’re visiting or planning a late night date!

We had a lovely experience overall. Service was top notch and the food was served at just the right pace. The staff and our waiter were attentive and friendly. We ordered the nine course tasting menu which were presented beautifully and creatively. The oyster was a great start and was fried perfectly and blended nicely with the truffle custard. Next was the scallop which was topped with super finely diced apple and cucumbers (I think) - also delicious. Unfortunately, I did not care for the next two dishes, crab porridge (couldn't detect crab and the grains were too hard for me) and nose to tail (just felt too heavy). Next, the Halibut was delicious and delicate. For the Surf and Turf, steak was so tender, plus a few pieces of lobster (which was enough as we were getting full). The desert was a miss and did not stand out for me. I would definitely return to try a different tasting menu after my wallet is healed from the damage :)

We tried the tasting menu. Food was great, presentation excellent. Strawberry dessert is our favorite, followed by the scallops and oyster. Pork Trotter dish was a little strange, nevertheless still delicious. Service excellent, compared to many other high end restaurants, the service and staff are very well trained at Canoe. Open kitchen concept so you can see interactions of the chefs. Happy to see diversity in the kitchen. Restaurant is clean, atmosphere is good. View is nice and most people are there for a celebration. Wish their restroom was nicer, as it's just the TD building restroom. But that's no good reason not to try out the restaurant. Would recommend if you haven't been and I would return.

The tasting menu was very delicious - couldn’t find any faults; however, the service was not up to par. Wish I was able to enjoy the food without constantly being interrupted asking how the dish is. Nonetheless I think Canoe serves really good food and is definitely worth a try!

When you go to one of the top restaurants in Canada you expect the best and they didn’t disappoint. Our server, Fred, was welcoming, charismatic and his knowledge of the menu helped us decide what we ate as this was our first time. The views from where we were seated were incredible and the food was so exceptional, both my wife and I didn’t want it to end. I highly recommend this restaurant for an upscale night out with an exciting dining experience.

We had a wonderful dinner here. The food was delicious, but the portions were too small for the price. We ordered onion soup, game tartare, bread and butter, wine, apple juice, wild pacific halibut, 16oz p.e.i. rib eye, tea, as well as wild blueberry and ontario rhubarb desserts. The service was impeccable, and the ambiance was amazing. The view of the city from the restaurant, which is on the 54th floor, is spectacular.

Great food and ambience. Had an amazing dinner with colleagues - not only did we enjoy the views but the food was also great. Only caveat is food quantity is limited and you need to order all 3 courses to feel well fed.

Louder and darker then before. Good (but pricy) food, excellent service amazing view. We went for Auberge&Canoe special and appetizer was uninspiring, desert was very, very unusual (chocolate mushrooms). Lobster lasagna was heavenly, veal was good. Wine selection was just ok.

This restaurant is situated on the 54th floor of the TD Bank Tower in downtown Toronto, offering guests a breathtaking view of the city skyline and Lake Ontario. The atmosphere is undeniably scenic, and a standout feature is the kitchen view, which allows diners to witness the culinary action. While it's worth noting that the prices are on the higher side, the appetizers and desserts stand out as exceptional, adding to the overall dining experience. However, the main courses, especially the ribeye, were somewhat lacking in flavor and were served at our table quite cold, which was a noticeable downside. In terms of service, our server left much to be desired in terms of quality. Nevertheless, the assistants went the extra mile to enhance our dining experience, ensuring our visit was not in vain. One notable advantage is that the restaurant provides complimentary parking, which can be a significant perk in the heart of downtown Toronto.

We went and had the taste canoe experience, it was fantastic. Superb atmosphere with a great view of Toronto. The staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable we paid our meal with cocktails instead of wine and they made some excellent pairings. Last but not least the food plating was stunning and really brought and air of intrigue and beauty to some delicious meals. I would definitely recommend seeking out canoe for a great dinner experience

The view is amazing but that’s it. The menu is so boring and limited in option if you don’t eat pork. Everything has a dash of prosciutto. pricey for absolutely no reason! The food was so average and so Disappointing. The venison tartare was so bad, worse presentation I’ve ever seen. The halibut was dry. Desert was so tiny. I would definitely not come back and would not recommend to celebrate any occasion here. So overrated. If you would like to experience upscale dining try George , Scaramouch you would not be disappointed!

I had the most phenomenal experience at this restaurant! The service was top-notch and the staff went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, adding to the overall dining experience. Now let's talk about the food – exceptional is an understatement! I started my meal with their onion soup, which hands down is the best in town. The rich flavors and perfectly melted cheese on top had my taste buds dancing with joy. For the main course, I opted for the wild halibut. The chef nailed it with the perfect cooking technique, resulting in a beautifully tender and flaky fish. The accompanying sides and sauce were thoughtfully prepared, perfectly complementing the flavors of the halibut. I wouldn't change a single thing about this dish! All in all, I can confidently say that this restaurant exceeded my expectations. The combination of phenomenal service, terrific atmosphere, and exceptional food made for an unforgettable dining experience.

I went with my wife for lunch midweek to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere was very corporate, which we expected. The service was very cold and unfriendly, but efficient. The food was a complete disappointment. The steak came out cold, bland, and so fatty that I couldn’t even cut it. We had to send it back to the kitchen, and they ended up comping us the dish as well as dessert. The rest of the meal was bland and flavourless. We also found both our cocktails too sweet and unbalanced. The only highlights were the view and the fries.

We had such an incredible time during my first visit to Canoe! The restaurant not only offers the best view in Downtown Toronto, and the ambiance was absolutely stunning. I highly recommend going there with someone you love. We decided to try the Taste Canoe menu, every dish was beyond fantastic. The presentation was top-notch, and the flavors were incredibly tasty. If I had to choose a favorite, it would definitely be the Onion + Caviar. The chef used real onions, and it was simply amazing. You have to try it! Make sure to make a reservation in advance and request a window seat. It's the perfect spot to celebrate any occasion. Complimentary Parking after 5:30PM

Made a reservation for Feb 16 online. Followed up with a phone call to inform one guest was vegetarian. Process was very easy. Arrived on time, and fortunately received a window seat. The views are amazing. Please insist on a window seat because this is one of the main reasons to come to this restaurant….the views! We decided to go with the Tasting Menu (seven course meal decided by the chef, based on the local available ingredients). The food was really good, however, not once were we asked how we might want certain food cooked. It was all decided by the chef. The wait staff were very attentive and professional, very efficient and quick, and can’t say anything bad about their service. Top notch. We paid over $600 for dinner for two, and overall feel like the food was overpriced, based on the quality and experience. We likely will not come back because there are so many other choices within Toronto with amazing food and service for the same price.

Not my first time. Service was great and attentive, ambiance is always great but food was a huge miss this time. Apps were OK (tomato and the wedge salad), whereas the mains were very disappointing. My steak frites was massively overcooked to almost well done when I asked for Med Rare and chewy - I didn’t have time to send it back, and my wife’s pumpkin pasta dish was mediocre with hard to chew/raw pieces of it inside the dish. Perhaps it was because we had come in for lunch - but was a very underwhelming way to spend $200+ for a quick lunch.

My fiancé took me to Canoe for my birthday and it was amazing. Could not dislike anything that we ordered. But the star of the night was the onion soup for sure. The service was absolutely warm and welcoming and they had left a note on our table due to reservation for birthday. We had a stunning view of Toronto and the staff were kind enough to take some great photos of us!

Excellent food with a really nice view of the CN Tower. One of nicest restaurants I have been to in downtown Toronto and would really recommend if you are looking for a nice candle lit dinner with your loved one. The service was really good though just one thing I was expecting from them that they would do something special for my birthday considering they asked me what was the occasion for the diner, but they didn’t which was a little disappointment but otherwise the overall experience was really good!

So i debated whether or not I was going to write this because i hate putting someone down publicly but Honestly i was extremely disappointed in the service. The food was incredible though i think the time in between courses was far too long, by the end i just wanted to take it to go. The service from the beginning was slow. I waited at the front for around 5-10 mins with no one coming to check in. Once they did come over I was asked to wait longer (my reservation was for 8:15 it was now 8:25 with a big line of people behind me) as they grabbed a group that showed up after me.... then finally once i was seated it was extremely difficult to get our waiters attention to get a drink throughout the night. I got to the point where I was actually getting up and walking over to him to ask him to put in an order. i had to ask for the drinks menu several times so i could look at the cocktails and asked to have it left at the table because it was so difficult to get the first time. I asked for my jacket several times because i was cold and again had to get up and go over to him and ask him a third time to get it. i have been wanting to go here for years because i have heard how amazing the food was. it was such a disappointing experience for me that i don't have any plans to return. For the amount of staff they had working compared to other restaurants I've been to in the last few months, it was quite frankly embarrassing... In general, i was disappointed because it felt like our waiter was so disinterested in actually waiting on our table. he was there to drop off the food or drink and would disappear just as fast as he arrived. Minimal interest and that was super disappointing. I've had better service at king west restaurants. Kudos to the kitchen for making outstanding food.

This is a beautiful place for a special occasion. The staff was very friendly, the ambiance is fantastic, the restaurant was beautiful and the view was magnificent. However, the food really disappointed us. Just not as delicious as you would expect especially for the price, and we didn't even finish our dessert.

Canoe was a jaw dropping venue for our recent event. We chose Canoe after having to pivot from our original venue and it was such a good choice. Everything came together seamlessly. The event staff, Jennifer and Natalie were super detail oriented and worked with us on our various requests to put together an incredible day and night. The restaurant and the amazing views were the perfect backdrop for our reception and ceremony. The size was also perfect for our smaller group. Everything was beautiful and the staff and servers like Stephen were lovely. There were some kinks in the beginning and challenges with one staff member during the bar service, but Jennifer and Natalie helped us manage through that. Most importantly, the food for our venue was absolutely perfect and all our guests were so impressed with the presentation, taste and overall ambiance. Overall, Canoe isn't just a great restaurant, but also an amazing venue.

Great food. Amazing views. Amazing service. Super great experience! Can't wait to come back. I wish I had 10 of those oysters. The mushroom ice cream was weird..the onion soup was great..just wish it wasn't served in an actual onion.

2 weeks planned lunch Date @ 1:15pm. Called to let them know 15 minutes late but was told lunch kitchen closed 1:30pm. They cancelled our table and when we got there had to wait for a new table! Our table serveuse was so very kind and accommodating despite the host/ess lacking in service etiquette. Food: I’d rate 2 stars for the slivers of fromage on the cheese board that was insulting to overall cheese presentation, and price. Loved the Amaro Nonino Ambience: beautiful views For weekday afternoon lunch… I would try to reserve for 12:30 latest lunch. And oh yeah, host/ess greeter retraining needed.

Wow! Food was just amazing. Service was excellent. The views would normally be better but due to the forest fires it was hard to see much. Just an absolutely fantastic experience. Great for a date or business meeting. Ingredients were fresh and very high quality. Loved that you could see the full kitchen - so clean and really neat to watch.

Every foodie should experience dining at Canoe at least once. Explosion of flavours with each bite, surprising mix of ingredients, I had the 9 course tasting menu and wanted to lick each plate clean, which of course was not appropriate in such high class place. Beautiful view and though each dish was small, I was satisfyingly full by the end of the meal.

Have wanted to try out this restaurant for YEARS! We've had friends who have worked there, so we were super excited. My fiance and I both work in the industry so we had high expectations for such a big name restaurant. We attended for the Valentine's menu, but unfortunately left disappointed. For the price point (knowing it would be high) we left feeling some what cheated. Walking in we were greeted by very friendly staff, our server George was also very attentive and friendly. So A+ for service. There was no wine pairings menu offered which sucked, but our drinks were good. I got the canoe reisling and a blood orange cocktail which I really enjoyed and my fiance got 2 glasses of red wine (cannot remember the names). The food was good, I don't want to say it was bad at all. They were accommodating to my nut allergy except at the very last course the gentleman who brought the dessert put the macaron containing almonds in front of me. All good though before I ate it we switched. I got the halibut and my fiance got the filet. They were decent, but nothing to rave about. It just felt like the menu lacked a but in creativity. We would like to try this restaurant again but the Al la carte menu.

Dined in private rooms to celebrate a wedding. The waitstaff is very friendly and accommodating. Kitchen could not keep up with service. Poor flow of food service. Passables were slow to come out, tables were served at all different times and dishes were forgotten. For was hit and miss, some dishes excellent some just average. I wonder if main dining room might be better. View can't be beat. Feels as if you are dining on the top of the world!

We had an amazing Valentine’s Day dinner. The staff are very friendly and professional. There was a set menu, everything was great but we found the dessert to be too bitter. It was dark chocolate moose so I can understand but I think it needed something sweet to make the dark chocolate less overwhelming. Nevertheless it was close to perfect. Definitely would recommend the “hummingbird” cocktail.

I had the 7 course vegetarian dinner. I enjoyed the mushroom soup and the fresh bread. Overall I thought they could’ve put more effort into the menu. There was a lot of goat cheese and mushroom used repeatedly with minimal flavour profile and the vine ripened tomato dish was disappointing. Great ambience, service and view of course.

Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. My party ate mostly meat/fish and they were all very happy. I am vegetarian so they improvised for me and I had the dishes in the pictures, which were very tasty. Would return here.

The food wasn’t up to par. You would think the food is going to taste amazing but I have had better at more affordable restaurants. I ordered the lamb which was $78 just to only be able to eat the 1.5 inch cut of the lamb’s shoulder. On the other hand, the scallop en croûte was very good. The sauce was not too overly creamy and had a slight acidic taste which was to my liking. The scallop was fresh but it wasn’t worth going to an expensive restaurant for this one appetizer. In addition, we ordered bread to our table just to get three slices. I looked over to another table who had ordered bread to see if they also had the same amount. In fact they had almost double the amount of bread as my table. It was just me and my partner so I would understand if we got less than a table of six but that table was also just two people. The desert was good for its price. Furthermore, me and my partner felt that we were not getting proper service as we are a “younger couple”. It was minimal customer service and it wasn’t worth the tip we gave. In all honesty, that server did not deserve the tip whatsoever. The server approached us as if we didn’t belong there and didn’t want to serve us. In the end, I would not recommend Canoe as the food is average (maybe less) and the service was horrible considering it’s “fine dining”.

Great food, nice staff and satisfying service and the Ace is the view if you can get there at the sunset. We asked our server to change our table two times and he was so patient and helpful. The food quality was good and delicious and we would definitely go back there soon. Note we didn’t take the experience menu and general menu was good enough.

This restaurant is really something special. They have every detail of the business perfected. The restaurant itself is beautiful, not to mention the views. Staff are great, really add a big plus to the experience. And the food is otherworldly, every bite leaves you mesmerized.

Great restaurant. Food was good and had plenty of unique flavours and creations. The ambiance was great and the service was good. The only thing is the service can be a hit or miss, been here a few times and they have been great and other times they are ok, they never go above and beyond, which restaurants in this price range are usually known for. Otherwise, a great place to dine with a nice view.

Great venue and most of the staff is very friendly. However, I had the ABSOLUTE WORST experience with a male waiter. I simply asked earlier at the front desk if my date and I could get the window seats and we’re told that it’s on a first come first serve basis. This was fine and the place was busy. Then we got our seats and the a male waiter greeted us. We told him we were vegetarian and would like a vegetarian menu (as we had called earlier to confirm). He told us we had two options but with a very bad tone. We simply thought we heard it wrong and maybe he’s having a tough day. However, nearing the end of the night I asked our assigned male waiter if we could get those seats as some of them were empty and he said He said he would only get us those two seats if I buy dessert. Which took me off guard. Then as he allowed us to sit there I had to move all of our cutlery and water/wine glasses to the new table as he would not. I mean I always tip well and have greeted him with courtesy but why is there a need for such rude behaviour in front of my date? I had a great experience with another waitress before as I take all of my dates there but this gentleman simply ruined our dinner.

I’ve been here countless times. From a casual lunch to a dinner date to casual dinner with friends, and showing up late night and ordering EVERY SINGLE DESSERT. Canoe never disappoints and it is a must if you are visiting Toronto. This place trumps 360 both in the vibe, views, and the food.

Fantastic view and amazing food, with very attentive and knowledgeable staff. Food was perfect, fun, and very Canadian and the wine pairings impeccable. Yes we tried the tasting menu, you should too.

Completely disappointed about our experience as we came to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. I had made reservations since it was a special event, which when we arrived at our table, they even had a nice sign saying Happy Birthday. We started the night off with drinks and an appetizer. Our server did not come back for awhile which we didn’t notice until about 40 mins had passed and we started to get hungry. Another waiter approached our table and asked if we wanted another drink or dessert. We had mentioned we were still waiting for our waiter to come back and order our mains. He replied “Oh, he told me you didn’t want any mains.” Which we replied, “we never said that or did he say he was leaving”. He then left which then shortly after the manager came over and apologized about the confusion and said “the kitchen was now closed but could offer us desserts.” It was then 9:45pm, which is a bit early on a Saturday night however we didn’t have a choice to order. We declined desserts as we were hungry and left to go somewhere else even though reservations were made here. We were expecting to have a different experience and upset to have had to leave a birthday dinner without eating. We’re very surprised by how poor the service was given the reviews & ratings.

This experience was amazing. The food was one of the best I had. Yes it might seem pricey, but you won't be disappointed by the quality of the food. Even the cheapest wine is excellent. And we didn't talk about the view on Toronto!! 100% would recommend, will come back again.

Great service. Great food. Great view of the city. Portion sizes were a bit small but surprisingly filling, but that's par for the course for a trendy restaurant. Staff was knowledgeable on every dish. High quality Canadian cuisine.

I love that they source Canadian ingredients, and the contemporary dishes were visually appetizing and delicious. We enjoyed our main dishes the most. We were especially impressed with the rice and buckwheat stuffed leek over sauce vin jaune and sea lettuce emulsion in the Baffin Island Turbot main dish. recommend

The decor was beautiful. It was my bday. I thought they would a cake out for me, but they didn't. I had elk for dinner. It was just ok. I think it needs more taste. I had one big scallop for appetiser. To be honest, that tasted good but it was not worth $26. My first dessert was a disaster. It was this soft cake foam with ice cream and seaweed. It did not taste well. Some things should not be mixed. Anyway my experience may be different as yours, so have fun.

Tonight we had the best experience visiting Toronto for the first time! Our server Kevin was so genuine, he even wrote us a note with recommendations of where to visit during our stay. He was knowledgeable about the menu and recommended the perfect dishes for our preferences. We will be back, not only for the food but also for the service from Kevin.

The thrill of having the city at our feet. The anticipation preceding each course from the tasting menu. The awe before the great creativity required to combine beauty, taste, and textures… The relaxed attitude of attentive staff. That’s why we make it our go-to place for really (really) special occasions.

Always great food, atmosphere and the view is incredible. We enjoyed the oysters to start. Very fresh and sweet. Then the turbot and the lamb were both tasty and cooked to near perfection. The selection of desserts was excellent. The wine was well paired with our food thanks to the knowledgeable sommelier. Service was very attentive.w

Had a wonderful experience at Canoe this evening. We were celebrating my birthday tonight and our server Steven did an outstanding job and all of the staff was fantastic. Steve is funny, friendly and extremely knowledgeable . The food was phenomenal. We had 9 course tasting menu, which was very flavourful. The oyster was cooked to perfection and the main course and morel risoni was an wow factor. Excellent! Highly recommend!

I highly recommend!!!

Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. Most dishes were good, but a bit on the salty side. Service was good and the view of Toronto was spectacular. However, one major issue I had was the pork dish from the tasting menu, it was quite scary to me as the hair of the pig trotter was all sticking up and it was told to eat it.....I tried, but the feeling of pig hair on my tongue was gross. If pork is served with skin on, may be it is a better idea to clean out all the hair?

The evening of September 3rd we went to Canoe for dinner expecting a wonderful dinner with fabulous food, unfortunately the opposite occurred. We ordered the Lamb, medium rare the way lamb should be cooked. The food served by Canoe was not edible, well done and there was no way a knife and Fork would cut into the lamb. The portion was at best fit for a child. My salmon was 100% raw in the centre after a consuming say a third of both the above mentioned entries we pointed out to our server Jeff (who is simply amazing and professional). Jeff immediately agreed from viewing both food served was clearly sub-standard and of course did the right thing and did not charge us for both entries. At that point our culinary experience was ruined and we went on to the deserts next. We regularly dine at Toronto’s best restaurants and where shocked with the lack of quality and control provided by Canoe. I do apologize for the one star review however the truth needs to come out, and with your prices we expected way better cuisine then what was served. Yours Truly Mark Warsh

Not a place for me to come often but once in a while I like to show up for special occasions. Took my newly married wife here for the first time and had a blast. Canoe always provides great service and a great view. The food is fun and creative and interestingly intricate in taste, texture, and presentation. I love the locally sourced ingredients and the consistency of the cooking every time. I ordered the bison tartar, sweetbread, elk, and pigeon. Really well done. Really enjoyed the experience.

Made our anniversary special. Great view, great service and great food for the price. The only problem we had was that there were bugs and spiders outside by the window we were seated at but definitely not the restaurant’s fault. If we asked them to change seats they most likely would’ve. But it was still a great view so we just let it go.
