This restaurant is one of the best places on king west. The manager Chris Avis ensures that the restaurant provides top quality service from the minute you book a reservation to the minute you leave. They made my birthday extremely special and we absolutely loved the food. We highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back! Thank you Chris, Megan, Allison, Shavika and Colvin for your amazing service.

What can you say about The Keg that hasn’t already been said? I will start by pointing out that the smiles and personality of the hosts and servers that are always a part of a Keg visit, still shine right through the masks everyone still has to wear. Our server, Eva M was awesome. Very attentive and super friendly. Nailed everything and still kept coming back to check on us even as the restaurant started to fill at an alarming rate. What a great way to start an evening that ended with Genesis on a big stage. We will be back for sure. If you get a chance to book a table beside the huge fireplace, do it. So cozy.

been a customer since 2017. 5/5 food and good service. strongly recommend calamari and mushroom neptune for appetizer, peppercorn steak and lobster tail with a side of mushroom risotto or mashed potato from their main course menu and brownie for dessert. their food has been consistent for 5 yrs, which i value. the thing about keg is that u shouldn't go there to get a salad and chicken breast, get the steak or lobster and something you haven't tried from their appetizer menu, don't go for what u can get from other places! for drink, i recommend the mango chilli or is it called mango jalapeño something.

This is the Keg location I go to on a fairly regular basis. Most Torontonians have been to a Keg at least once. The food is delicious, it's reasonably priced and the service is consistently great. The Billy Miner pie is a must have so leave room for dessert. At this particular location I have to call out our server Jackson. He was just wonderful. Great personality, attentive without being intrusive. Everyone from the doorman, to the hostess, to the people bringing our food were great, but I do feel I need to call out Jackson for making the evening delightful.

As busy as this area is, the staff is delightful and prompt. They definitely try and their best to go above and beyond. The server at our table was very professional and knowledgeable. The food, is always a plus. Everything is made in a timely manner and done with precision. I know in my pictures I only posted apps, but the Keg will forever live up to their name. This location in particular is impressive.

The favourite Steakhouse in town. I tried filet mignon adding scallop and shrimp. The cheese sauce was really good. I tried ribs this time and the meat was tender and more importantly, the sauce was not too strong.

Good experience over all with the service and food quality. However we asked for medium steaks but it was overcooked and more like a medium well done which is the expectation for steakhouse but still pretty good. Bearnaise sauce excellent.

This location has amazing service! I was dining alone. My 1st time in a formal restaurant since March 2020. I was very comfortable and felt safe! COVID compliant seating indoors. Lots of space between you and the other tables. I ordered the Seafood Trio with vegetables. Ahhhmazing! The King Crab was scrumptious! The lobster was perfect! And shrimps were large and perfectly grilled! I also splurged and got the Warm Mediterranean Salad: Roasted cauliflower on a bed of garbanzo bean puree and couscous.

The buttery sauce for lobster is absolutely amazing and the double baked potato just made my day. I would hope there could be more side dish options in the future. The service is definitely a bonus point.

Got a biggest steak they have. Regular people can share, but I had all by myself. Tastes nice, like a steak I cook at home. Do they use electronical grill?

What a treat:) Went there with my partner for my birthday. It was first time for me to try The Keg and it was unforgettable experience. I loved everything. The way they welcomed us was warm. Food was amazing. The ice-cream cake our server complemented me for my birthday was delicious. Apparently, it called Billy miner pie. I will go back for that pie itself. Overall, great experience and we will go back.

Celebrated our anniversary here today and I’m so glad we chose this place! The service was great, welcoming and friendly. The food was so good, everything well prepared and tasty! We ordered the prime rib and the lamb special, super delicious 😋 We will come back more times, for sure 👍 Highly recommend!

Came here for a meal on our last night in Canada - fantastic spot. Atmosphere is lovely, real sophisticated yet chilled out vibe, pulled off well. Hands down the nicest sirloin steak I have had in a long long time! Cooked to perfection, and the available sides were great. Wine selection was brilliant, and high quality. Stephen our server is a credit to the company, fine example of customer service done well! - thank you. Still can’t believe the price of this place being so good, for such great food!

Our dining experience was absolutely superb. We savoured the Peppercorn New York Steak and the Steak and Lobster, and both dishes exceeded our expectations. The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring our needs were met. The ambience was fantastic, creating a perfect setting for a memorable meal. If you're looking for an exceptional steakhouse with impeccable service and a great atmosphere, this is the place to be.

Came for dinner in December 2023. Ordered the prime rib dinner. I could tell the steak had been sitting for a while as the edges were hard and dry, the steak itself was a little dry and not very flavorful. My steak was supposed to come with a side of sautéed mushroom (as indicated on the menu), but it came with crispy onions instead (which was delicious). I asked the server why it didn't come with mushrooms, after asking the kitchen, she told me they had been 86'd mushrooms, would have been nice if that was communicated with me prior. She did offer me a side of vegetables, I declined. Table maintenance could have been better: apps weren't cleared when the mains arrived, had to move my app plate (which was empty) to make room for the mains, also, empty wine glasses were sitting on the table during my app and main even though we didn't order any wine. The free bread with the three cheese butter was amazing though, so was the dessert (mile high chocolate cake). For its price point, I expected more from the food and service.

Fantastic food at great prices! Super close to other more experimental places but still a solid place for a nice dinner. The only issue I had was how close the tables are to each other. We could clearly hear everything everyone else said even when they were being quiet.

Went to TO for 3 Jays games and went to the Keg to celebrate my birthday with my fiance. Go to 3 Kegs in Ottawa on a very regular basis and always enjoy the food and experience. However this was one of the WORST dining experiences EVER. I ordered a BLUE RARE strip loin steak and it was so over cooked I could not eat it. AS THE PICTURE SHOWS IT IS DEFINITELY MEDIUM PLUS! I advised the server and after about 30 minutes, during which my fiance finished his dinner a manager finally came to see me and while she readily admitted it was definitely overcooked her attitude was yeah, sorry as sometimes this happens. She did offer to cook up a new one but it was very late (around 10:15) and after a long drive from Ottawa I told her I would just prefer a refund of the steak on my $350+ bill. She was very rude and told me to wait for a new steak or forget it. I was exhausted and did not want to wait and then eat Alone so late at night so I paid the bill and left. Lots of money for bill without getting a meal. Worst birthday ever! Will never go to a Toronto Keg again.

We went for a memorial to our colleague. The servers were lovely. The food was delicious. The atmosphere sophisticated casual. Our reservation for 15 ppl. It was not found ( perhaps accidentally made for another location) but they graciously accommodated us when we arrived and sat us with in minutes.

Really enjoyed our time here! Was a busy night and ordered some appetizers. One appetizer was brought out and then a manager came out stating our other appetizer wasn’t cooked to her standards and that it would be a little longer but she would comp it. Although not necessary it was much appreciated. Steak was cooked to perfection and service was amazing.

Went there for my birthday on Monday night. Restaurant was practically empty. Everyone were very nice and friendly. The manager touched on us afew times to make sure everything is good and made conversations which was nice. The server checked on us multiple times to clean the table and refill our drinks. At the end surprised us with a icecream birthday cake which was so sweet of them and it was delicious. As well as a handwritten birthday card. I got the prime steak which was delicious and Michelle got the burger. The steak came with Caesar salad and warm bread to start. Great portions. Really enjoyed our experience.

I recommend the Keg for anyone looking for a nice casual meal out without breaking the bank. The food at the Keg is reasonably priced for what you are getting. Although this place does not compare to other steakhouses, the prices are much more affordable making the value for your money equivalent. This location changed their dessert menu recently, however, we were happy with the new lemon meringue dessert. The server was friendly and came by our table every once and a while to check up on us. They also took special precautions when it came to my allergy which I appreciated. We attended the Keg on a Thursday night and was surprised to see the place mostly empty. As a result, it was much quieter than usual which was a pleasant change.

This is a very well designed Keg. The dining room is very comfortable for small and large groups. Although I am not a big steak eater, I will only have steak at the Keg! The service is always the best in Toronto. If something is not done right, they always make it right. They know how to treat their clients as guests and not just as revenue. I had the 6oz top sirloin and it was delicious. I chose the Keg Classic which gives you mushrooms and seasonal vegetables and a salad. A good choice! Very pleased with the overall experience! Most restaurants after the pandemic felt it was a chance to rip off customers with smaller portions, higher prices and a lower grade of food. I am glad the Keg kept their standards and respected their clients and their art of great service. Way to go Keg!

1-star food, 5-star service. I haven’t been to the Keg in years, but always had fond memories of the steak. I decided to book a reservation here for an anniversary, and while the service from our waitress was *amazing*, the food was extremely disappointing. $60+ for a steak that looks like what I got was honestly just sad—it didn’t taste bad, but it tasted just like a regular steak you’d buy and make from the grocery store. also the sides were mediocre at best. thankfully the appetizer dip we got was good, but it’s hard to mess up melted cheese lol. the general manager also gave us a free ice cream cake which was the highlight of the meal. I’d love to give a higher rating because of the great hospitality, but I don’t know if I’d even come back to give it another chance based on how the food was, which is obviously the most important factor.

Food and patio were great but service was unusually slow. Visiting from Ottawa to see my daughter and came here for a late dinner. Our server Justin was pleasant and helpful. Appetizers and drinks came quickly and were good. Our main dinners took over 55 minutes to arrive. This is definitely too long and stretched out dinner to over two hours. Also told the hostess it was my daughter’s birthday but nothing was done to celebrate this. I grew up working at the Keg in Vancouver as bartender and server. Always had a soft spot for the Keg for the quality of food and service. Overall food was good but service was a bit disappointing.

we come here frequently and love both inside and outside. Family friendly & also able to bring our stroller. Server by the name Brett is the most knowledgeable, professional, friendly, & funny staff there. He is very personable & attentive to each of his tables/guests. He served us when we were pregnant and we also came after with our baby & it was really nice being taken care of by him again.

Service and food was excellent, my husband and I had steaks and they were cooked perfectly and our appetizer was also delicious. Our server was attentive and very professional. One of the best Keg locations I have been to!

Steaks are well seasoned. When I wanted my steak somewhere between Medium-Medium Well, it came back spot on. That’s accurate doneness right there based on my preference. Spicy chicken nachos was loaded with flavor and texture. They have good selection of wines. Service is attentive.

A very disappointing experience. I went to The Keg with a $250 gift card looking forward to splurging. Our servers were great but the food quality was not up to keg standards. I double checked that the prime rib was coming off medium rare before ordering that + a lobster tail and mashed potatoes for my dinner. When the prime rib arrived it was objectively medium well and dry. I politely brought it up to the server and then panic ordered a new steak (New York strip medium rare) which really was not what I wanted. I proceeded to eat the lobster tail by itself while waiting for the other steak to came out which when it arrived was A) just a steak on the plate (not a new meal) and B) very rare (not medium rare). At this point I was super disappointed and honestly shocked that I had to even ask for a manager to come over. This isn’t something I enjoy doing and not how I want to spend my evening at a restaurant. I never want to make a server feel uncomfortable or get anyone in trouble. I was just feeling genuinely disappointed in the quality of food. The manager came over and I explained to her my disappointment and that I felt bad having to complain and she barely apologized but said she would take the meal off my cheque and I could get an appetizer free of charge. I chose the baked garlic shrimp with 2 brioche buns. The manager brought out the baked garlic shrimp and I was shocked to see that both the buns were burnt. At this point I didn’t have it in me to complain yet again but truly felt like I was being trolled. The manager just didn’t seem to care about my experience. When it was finally time to pay I was shocked to see that the lobster tail was still on our bill but, again, I didn’t have it in me to make another complaint - I felt like a nuisance. We had to wait for another manager to come over and do the payment with our gift cards as our server didn’t know how and this new manager honestly wasn’t very friendly either. For a table that had multiple issues with their food (objective issues, I was not complaining about small things. Both my steaks were cooked incorrectly), the level of care from management was minimal at best. I worked at the keg for five years and I know this is not the standard of service they’re supposed to give. This was supposed to be a fun anniversary dinner and we both left with low energy and feeling annoyed.

Great steak and desserts too! Lovely atmosphere on the inside and a great place to celebrate special occasions. Would recommend the peppercorn steak with the mashed potatoes and paired with a nice red wine. Would definitely return.

Great food. The baked shrimp and tuna tartar were amazing starters! Main dishes were also great Dessert was a bit too heavy and would have been better had it been warmed. Very decent prices and great atmosphere and decor

You know what to expect at the Keg. Great service, great food. The steak was perfectly cooked with a sear on the outside, perfectly seasoned and perfectly medium rare as requested. I give the steak a 11 out of 10. The mini brownie was just the right size and not too sweet. I took a star off due to the noise level, it was so loud, almost unbearable.

  • 4/5 Grace H. 2 years ago on Google
I ordered a classic new york strip, medium rare. It camed as a little bit overcooked, but it was pretty good though. Ordering classic ones, you will have a warm bread, a salad, and main dish with a side dish such as baked potato. Good location for date night!

  • 4/5 Buck M. 2 years ago on Google
Solid steaks and great variety, you can never really go wrong here. We had one small steak and one larger, great garlic mash, shrimp and bacon wrapped scallops on a skewer. Intimate but comfortable atmosphere. A little pricier but worth every bit in quality and taste.

  • 2/5 Christopher K. 2 years ago on Google
Honestly it’s not great for the price. The steak was charred on the bottom like the grill had flared up uncontrollably, and the drinks were sickeningly sweet. Service was good although the hosts definitely didn’t know what was going on. I said I didn’t have a reservation and it seemed like they’d never had anyone say that before. Fries were good but sort of a mix between McD’s and Steak and Shake. Nothing special. Dessert was a copy pasted flowerless chocolate brownie. Solid, but unremarkable. However, for $4 it was the best value of the meal. Atmosphere is cool, swanky. But it feels put on when the food doesn’t bring it.

This place was fine, not great. Cute and quaint patio. The food definitely didn’t meet our expectations of the usual Keg quality. We had to wait ten minutes before we were seated for our reservation. Not a huge deal and we understood. Server and staff were courteous and friendly. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. Our meat was way over cooked which is surprising for a steakhouse. The manager did offer to replace it for us but we didn’t want to deal with waiting for another one since there’s a time limit of 1.5 hours per table. Manager comped the steak. A nice gesture but we would rather have enjoyed our meal and paid for it. Will not be back here.

I can't believe I paid $70 for takeout here. Just look at the food portion...from the way it was served especially the fries to the amount you're getting, it's not worth it! I remember ordering the same meal in-store and getting so much food a plate. You guys should treat take-outters the same as those who eat inside as well. Never again! Steak was good a usual.

  • 3/5 Lauren R. 2 months ago on Google • 1 review New
While the service was fair, the food did disappoint in portion size and quality. We both ordered the 10oz prime rib in medium rare and medium. What was delivered to our table looked more like a 6oz end piece that was cooked medium well to well done for us both — almost no pink in the middle. The keg has always been a favourite restaurant of mine and I had never once been disappointed by a keg establishment. However, this was our first time visiting the king west location as we recently moved to the area and unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be returning to this location.
