If you don't mind dropping $200–$300 on a 3-course dinner for two with two glasses of wine, then this place will not disappoint you. Located in a wealthy area of Toronto, this place is a true gem. Everything from the exterior decor to the interior decor, to the choice of music speaks of a founder who is passionate about creating a warm and memorable experience for his patrons. Leo and Shirley Spralja, who own and operate this restaurant, are clearly passionate about art and music. This place feels nice and has a unique vibe to it. I fell in love with this place after my first visit. I recommend booking a table either on the patio in the summer or on the second floor. You get more privacy and it's quieter on the second floor. Service is fantastic. All the waiters are super attentive and courteous. The food is expensive but very tasty. Everything I ordered was tasty and done to perfection. Check out the attached photos to see for yourself. If you can afford to splurge on a special night, I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.

Had an amazing time at Joso's! The atmosphere was cozy, and the whole experience was top-notch. Tried the Pescatora—it's a seafood dream with a touch of tomato, fisherman's style. Fresh and flavorful, every bite was a delight. The chefs really know their stuff! Wrapped up with Tiramisu for dessert. It was the perfect ending—just sweet enough without going overboard. Loved it!

Wow! I’m not a huge fish person, but I feel as though this restaurant converted me. You know the quality of fish is top-notch when they simply season it was salt, pepper, lemon, and olive oil, and yet it’s SO flavourful and delicious. The fried calamari may have been the best I ever had and the squid ink pasta was so unique. The service was amazing too. They brought me a blanket because they noticed I was cold and taught me how to de-bone a fish (like I said, I’m not a huge fish person). Thank you for such an amazing experience.

If you grow up by the ocean, find another restaurant. If you're not, maybe try it. Great hot sauce, ink pasta (favorite) and fish. Calamari was good too. However, mussels were not fresh also with sand. Desserts were meh. Don't order drinks.

A Toronto classic. Cant go wrpng with super fresh grilled fish with the most amazing olive oil and lemon. :) The squid ink pasta was also so good - not salty , but light and tasty with the most perfectly cooked noodles.

The food and service exceeded my expectations. We ordered calamari, octopus, smoked trout, mussels and clams in the white wine sauce and mixed seafood. Everything was fresh, simply made yet, very tasty. I’m not big in seafood however the food at Joso’s made me want to go back again and again.

This restaurant has the best fish. So fresh and a great variety. Yesterday was my first time and It won’t be my last. Just loved it. The food was so good and fresh. A great experience. The decor is unique and wild. If your celebrating a birthday the staff and the whole restaurant get involved in singing happy birthday.

We stumbled upon this restaurant only to discover it is quite well-known. And one can understand why after a meal. In fact, we were lucky we got a table at the patio as we had no reservations. The food was absolutely delicious! Well-prepared without being overly seasoned so you could still taste the freshness of the ingredients. The seafood was fresh and succulent. We had the Grilled Calamari and Allá Siciliana (sepia ink spaghettini) as starters. For mains, we had a whole grilled fish (the server will let you choose from a range of fresh fish!), and the grilled prawns. So, so good! We also had the tiramisu for dessert. Wow! Service was excellent. Expect $$$$ as indicated. But you'll likely walk away satisfied.

Eatin‘ like we‘re seated in swish, sotto and joso‘s. I went there because I knew it from Drake. It was such a fine evening with my girl and the food is delicious! You will enjoy a very nice dinner with who ever you go there. Be prepared to spend money, though it is worth it! Take Care

What an incredible place. The atmosphere is great and the food is fantastic. The staff were so helpful and so passionate and broad about the food they serve. The seafood was fresh and prepared really well. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in the city

Its been a while since I've been to Joso's. Maybe a decade? Happy to say that the quality and standard are just as high as ever. We got the squid ink spaghettini, fried calamari, grilled octopus, and grilled scorpion fish. Everything was as I remember it. There's an art to perfectly cooked and seasoned meat, and Joso's has consistently delivered. We ended with the tiramisu, and happy to say that that hasn't changed at all either.

Instagram @chopstixinthesix Follow Us! We got the Alla Siciliana, Grilled Octopus and Grilled Whole Orada. Alla Siciliana was Squid Ink Spaghetti, the spaghetti was cooked to a perfect Al Dante, coated with Squid Ink that was well-seasoned, it didn’t have much of a briny taste to it, and we have been searching for this for a long time, we are so glad we went! Grilled Octopus came with 2 Whole Tentacles, had a nice char to it, Capers and Minced Garlic elevated the dish. We were recommended by our server to try the Grilled Whole Orada, it was a Sea Bream that was grilled to perfection, the skin was crispy, smoky, the meat was firm, though we thought it was just slightly over-done, it was still a very delicious fish that was seasoned nicely!

There is no way this place is a real 4.7 star restaurant. The food had no flavour. They ran out of the lamb, the ran out of octopus and they must have ran out of salt also because nothing was seasoned properly. Service was mediocre they forgot to clear our table a couple of times, servers had no clue what wine should be paired with the dishes we wanted. Mussels were a bit fishy ( you know what that means), bread brought to the table twice a day old stale. A dish of raw fish was brought to the table to sell us on their imported items. We are not by the sea - and I don’t want to smell a day old plate of fish that’s been sitting before I eat.. The mirror at the front entrance hasn’t been dusted for at least a couple of months. Decor dated to the 90s. I have been to a lot of restaurants in the city and this one is mediocre at best, truly relying on older patrons supporting the business for years and nostalgia. Average age of patrons were in their late 60s not a sight of any newer generations. Definitely not worth the price… I definitely feel duped. If you have no taste buds this is the place for you.

Super fresh and yummy seafood dishes . Excellent service! Our host Paul was super kind and helped us choosing food . It's best to go there and share all the meals. Drinks were made quickly and they were very generous. Love this place! What a gem in Yorkville. Also the art was out of this world 💜 😜!

Joss's offers a delightful range of dishes that cater to various tastes. The presentation of each plate is a work of art, and the fusion of flavors is a culinary adventure worth embarking on.

Food and service still consistent after many years. Funky music and atmosphere. Signature dish of Croatian black ink risotto still on par. Grilled octopus tender. Amazingly prices still reasonable post Covid!

Have to say I had not heard of this restaurant before I went so I knew nothing about its history or food. We took vendors from Amsterdam here and we had a great meal. This is a very intimate setting and it is a very busy restaurant. We went at 5pm on a Tuesday and the whole restaurant was booked for a second sitting.. we all had fish, whole branzino for me and we shared a seafood rissotto.. starter was fried calamari.. in summary food was excellent and there was enough risotto left for my dinner the next night.. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The energy in Joso’s has always been nothing but lively! Personally, this is a restaurant I prefer eating in later in the evening. Something about the evening aura wins. Also, the set-up and decor is very original which is an experience on its own. In regards to the food, I’ve yet to taste a meal I wasn’t overly satisfied with. I always order the breaded calamari and every single time it tastes just as good as the last. Service has been friendly and reasonable minus one specific visit. She seemed disinterested in either our table or her job until she received her large unjustified tip at the end of the dinner. But once again, that seemed to have been a rarity. I recommend here !

Joso's is a Toronto institution. If you like seafood, and you haven't been, stop reading this and make a reservation. Hmm...you are still reading... I am jealous of you, you get to go to Joso's for the first time - don't spoil it by learning more - let Joso's draw you in and delight your senses.

First time having dinner at Joso’s and it didn’t disappoint. We were initially 30 minutes early for our reservation, but the gentleman who answered the phone was able to accommodate us for an earlier seating. Staff was so friendly, informative and attentive. Our server had changed halfway through the night, but our initial server (whom I didn’t catch her name, but had dark hair), was amazing. Food and drinks were phenomenal. We will definitely be returning. The squid ink pasta and lamb is a must try.

Joso's has been my fav restaurant in Toronto for the past 8 years! Squid ink pasta is better than all the ones I've had in Italy. Service is top notch. Only change this time was they used to make their own lemon sorbet in the lemon rind, and how it's in a cup and tastes more like artificial sugar. Still good though! All our guests really enjoyed our experience.

Fancy restaurant with unique seafood theme. Presentation is great. Squid ink spaghetti tastes good! Plus all kinds of celebrities and sport stars pictures at the front door. Suggest 18+ since some adult photos around.

One of the top three seafood spots in the city, if not the top. The preparation is simple. Once you have the highest quality ingredients, all you need is an open flame, olive oil, salt, and lemon. Everything we ordered was top notch. We started with a platter of shrimp, octopus, and grilled calamari — all cooked to perfection. Our mid course meal was the squid ink pasta (one of the few places that uses real squid ink; be careful when twirling it on your fork if you’re wearing white). Our main was the Scorpion Fish which I recommend reserving in advance since it’s not one of the staple fish on their platter. The fine dining experience comes with a premium price — after tax & tip we paid $370 for the two of us. But worth the money for special occasions!

Always amazing food, service and ambiance at a very reasonable price

So happy that they survived the pandemic. The food is always delicious - the scorpion fish is my favorite. Joso's was our first indoor dining experience since the start of the pandemic. We felt very safe dining there. Naturally, when you go to Joso's, you MUST eat indoors to take in the spectacular decore.

My new fav restaurant! Amazing food and atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The squid ink pasta was the best pasta I’ve ever had very creamy and light. The tiramisu and gelato were great.

I love this restaurant and also their risotto. That is the best ever. Only thing is hard to make reservations. I could not wait to try next time.

Another incredible meal! I cannot praise this restaurant enough. It's always consistent, the service impeccable and the food is just so, so amazing. We're always bringing new people with us to share the experience and this time, we tried something new. I'm afraid I didn't get any pics cause I was too hungry.

For our anniversary, we were looking for a special, fancy-ish restaurant but with good meal portions and that’s exactly what Joso’s is. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable. We really enjoyed our night! We had no one to watch our toddler so we brought her along; we realized quickly that it’s not exactly the type of place you would usually bring a baby haha but they were super friendly and the servers constantly played peekaboo with her and brought her ice cream and it went really well! Now for the food: we ordered the pescatora risotto, the calamari and the Adria salad. Everything was delicious, even the toddler loved the calamari. The decor was soooo unique and interesting. We had such a good time. Oh the tiramisu was wonderful too! Will definitely be back!

A blast from the past! We made reservations here as we had some out of town friends visiting. We lucked out and managed to get one of the best tables for 4ppl on the second floor tucked away. The food creativity is from a carry over of a time gone by yet delicious. The service was friendly & attentive. Not a must try experience as I think it lives on it’s reputation of yesteryear but definitely worth experiencing once.
