What an all around fantastic experience! The front of house team is friendly and attentive. Mike, the owner, personally checks in with all of the guests throughout the night to make sure the experience is top notch. I can only assume the kitchen team is just as friendly and attentive as they accommodated a dietary restriction that modified a dish a fair amount and did so without issue. Presentation of the food was great, and the taste was even better! The experience was all topped off with a cozy and uniquely decorated dining area. I’m looking forward to my next visit to try more of the dishes and experience that great service again!

First time here as we were looking for a good seafood place. We called to make a reservation & good we did as seating is limited and it was very busy. Immediately, the service was friendly and welcoming. The server did an amazing job explaining the specials of the day. For appetizers, we got the Cajun muscles and lobster/shrimp bisque - both were absolutely delicious and savoury. For mains we got the fresh fish of the day and the shrimp creole, the sea bass was so well made and honestly the best tasting fish we ever tried. The portions aren’t huge but with an appetizer you’re very likely to get full. The owner or manager was present and he was so kind and attentive. We would definitely come back for some amazing seafood and I’ll be recommending this to my friends and family.

I came here with my friend for my going away dinner. I have to say it was the best dining experience I ever had in six years of living in Toronto. The food was absolutely fantastic-fresh and flavourful with perfect combination of spices and fresh herbs. To top it off the service was absolutely amazing and the owner of the restaurant only added to this fantastic atmosphere by being super attentive to all of his guest and personally making sure that everything was OK at every table. The cherry on top was the jazz music playing, which you don't hear often when you are out. I wish I could give this place 10 stars !

Absolutely stunning. Since the start of covid at least my expectations for restaurants has been lowered due to staffing, supply and customer shortages, but New Orleans blows those expectations out of the water. The jambalaya is possibly one of the best meals I have ever had it was like getting blasted by a thousand beautiful flavors perfectly layered one after another. I have to also mention the service, Mike genuinely and I mean genuinely cares about you and the food. There is a perfect harmony that comes from personal level of dining that Mike brings and the beautiful elegant flavors of Maria's cooking. I would recommend this to anyone interested in creole cuisine and I can't wait for my next visit.

This was my first time coming here and it is not going to be my last! The owner Mike is very friendly and attentive. We got the calamari and because he knew we were sharing, he gave it to us on individual plates accompanied by a delicious rolled up salad! The calamari is good, you know it's been deep fried but you can't taste the oil. The jambalaya - HOLY, I don't even know how to describe it. The saying on their menu where "every bite is different and you love it from the 1st bite to the last" - 100% accurate! The first thing I did after finishing as much as I could (which didn't look like much because the portion was huge) was message all my friends to tell them that they HAD to come and try the jambalaya. For dessert, we got the creme caramel, which the closest I can describe it is similar to flan. They also gave us an extra shot of something that tasted like a polar bear (mint chocolate liquor). TL;DR - Excellent customer service, possibly THE BEST jambalaya, amazing experience, definitely add this to your rotation of regular restaurants.

This a a family owned and run restaurant. Mike is running the dine-in area and his wife is the amazing chef and creator of so many delicious dishes. Mike himself is an amazing host; humble, kind and funny. I came here as a part of a private event, catered and hosted by New Orleans Seafood & Steakhouse. Mike was constantly welcoming everyone while bringing the amazingly presented dished out of the kitchen and made everyone feel at home. The food offered at the event included Coconut Shrimp, Crab Cakes, Lobster and Shrimp Bisque, Jambalaya, Paella, Cajun Seafood Boil, Chicken and Steak Skewers and Plates. Dessert included Beignets and Bread Pudding. All the dishes tasted amazing, the spices used were wisely chosen and adequately added. Crab Cake was one of the best ones I’ve tasted. Coconut shrimp was both juicy and perfectly cooked. Paella was delicious, I couldn’t get enough of. Beignets were served warm and tasted really good, not too sweet. If you wanted to know what drinks to pair with your food, make sure you ask for suggestions from Mike, after all this is his restaurant and he know the best. Lol

This place is a gem. It was our first time visiting New Orleans Seafood & Steakhouse, and wow, were we impressed! The food is incredible, and everyone's raving reviews about the jambalaya are true. The restaurant itself is pristine, the decor is very chic, and there are fresh flowers everywhere! You can tell that the place is a labour of love for its owners, Mike and his wife. And Mike is simply delightful! He kept coming to our table throughout the night to make sure everything was good and we didn't need anything. Thank you so much for a great evening -- we will surely be back!

We have been looking for a restaurant in the GTA that serves New Orleans style of food. We found a little gem that everyone should try and you won't regret it. The restaurant is a family run business and Mike and his family are charming hosts, delightful! I won't dignify any negative comments posted here, lets just say the folks who post them haven't tried the food here. We were celebrating my birthday and we ordered many of the items on the menu. Starters included a tasty Caesar Salad, with crispy fresh romaine and freshly shaved Parmigiano Reggiano that was well balanced. The Cajun Calamari were made to perfection and very tender. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was nicely balanced and not too sweet. The Seafood Gumbo was a bit on the thin side but had good flavour. The mains were terrific, three of us had the delicious, melt in your mouth Chilean Sea Bass which was reasonably priced to boot! Our youngest likes steak and he had the blackened strip loin with green peppercorn sauce. The steak was tender and better than the steak he had at Hy's downtown earlier this year. To end the evening we had Beignet's, Bananas Foster, Pecan Pie and Crème Caramel. Mike provided complimentary after dinner aperitifs which was a surprise and a nice touch. We will be back!

You will absolutely love this place. There's a reason why they're so busy. Food is delicious and service is top notch. The owner comes around the tables often ensuring that you're happy with everything. So attentive. Did I mention how FABULOUS the food is? Highly recommend this great restaurant.

My first and superb experience with this New Orland cuisine in town! The soup was delightful and full of flavour. The shrimp cocktail was light with green lettuce. Then the entree, oh my lord, jumbolaya was Caribbean influenced rice creole, full of seafood, sausage and chicken. The magic part was the sauce that cooked the rice, like a bunch of fairies dancing on my tongue. We’ve finished the whole serving probably meant for a Viking family of 4. Simply because it was too good to stop. Highly recommended!

I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday and I can’t wait to go back there. I love the old charm decor of the restaurant. It’s very warm and inviting. I LOVE the smell that fills the restaurant. It’s a smell of delicious, high quality seafood that just makes my mouth water. The food is delicious. The service is impeccable. Everyone was so friendly and personable and they took very good care of me. I received a special treat for my birthday from them and I felt so special. Perfect medium rare steak, lots of interesting spices used. The roasted asparagus were a favourite of mine. Cajun shrimp was juicy and full of flavour. I can’t wait to go back here. I’m getting hungry just writing this.

Amazing place with amazing people working there! If you are looking for a restaurant that has great food and atmosphere, then it is definitely the one to choose! We came to celebrate birthday and ordered jambalaya and crab cakes. They were great, very tasty and fresh food. The owner also gave us free dessert as a birthday gift. Will definitely be back!

I have everything good to say about this place, from the intimate atmosphere, great jazz music, phenomenal food, and supreme service. New Orleans has a small space, but the way it is decorated makes you feel like an escape from reality. The vibe is so relaxing with classic jazz to reflect the South. I brought my family here for the food. Everyone is in agreement that everything they ate was perfection. If you know my family, you will know this is an impossibility. Yet, there it is - the smile with every bite, the nods of approval. For myself, I ordered the mussels, which were cleaned nicely with no residue of sand. This first course was so yummy that my expectation for the main inched higher. The Chilean Sea Bass was the special for the night, and it was cooked beautifully. For dessert, I was surprised with a delectable bowl of ice-cream with a birthday wish written on a plate. Every single dish that came out was nicely presented, and truth be told, I wouldn't mind working in the kitchen so that I can learn to cook these dishes. Most importantly was the service. Mike, who owns the establishment, was our host. He made sure that we were taken care of by checking in to see that everything was to our satisfaction. What stood out about Mike was his hilarious sense of humour and kindness. It's like as though we have known each other for a while. That's how charming he was with everyone in the room. Truly, an evening of perfection.

Exceptionally good food and amazing service! The food tastes so awesome that you can overlook the small size of the place. The superb service that is managed by Mike is by far the best you can get anywhere in Toronto and he does it in a really phenomenal manner that you feel at ease and enjoy the experience of authenticity of the flavours that this nice restaurant has to offer. Would strongly recommend for a fine dining experience and great place to explore seafood at its best.

If you’re looking for flavour this is the place to go! We enjoyed a great dinner here with exceptional service. Make sure you book ahead of time as we needed a reservation about a week in advance. There wasn’t an empty seat in the place when we had our meal and I can see why. The flavour is fantastic, the portion size is generous and the servers are attentive throughout the meal. Will definitely be back!!

I had my birthday dinner with my family yesterday outside in the tent with all the rain and cold because part of the tent was opened due to covid vaccine new rules, we were not allowed in cos some of us hadn't taken the full vaccine. But despite all that, its a beautiful place and we enjoyed the food and the staffs were very friendly. Cuddles to Mike he tried making us feel comfortable, will surely be visiting again.

Great food, especially for seafood lovers. Loved the ambiance, decor, music, etc. just as much as the jambalaya we had for dinner. It says it’s for 2 but it was more than enough for 3 of us who shared it. Also ordered some calamari and steak and they’re just as good. We came here on a Wednesday night which wasn’t super busy. That being said, they seemed understaffed as there was only one server for at least 6 tables. It’s a minor complaint though. Highly recommend this place.

The bread was warm, the butter was soft, the food was fantastic, and the service was excellent. The dishes were well presented, and the portions filled us up. I highly recommend the 2 person Jambalaya. I was expecting mostly rice, with some seafood on top. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was the opposite. The rice was FULL of sausage, seafood, and flavour. The owner checked up on us several times during the meal to make sure that we were satisfied with the service. This is a great patio to eat at, with a cuisine that you don’t see everyday in the GTA

Had an awesome night out at this little hidden gem to celebrate our anniversary. The staff and owner were amazing. I had take out before but had to came back again. Due to covid restrictions they have outdoor patio but it was perfect especially during these temperatures. The food was excellent. As appetizers we had the Calamari topped with a tasty sauce and a small salad on the side sprinkled with balsamic vinegar. The cajun mussels with nice warm bread. For the main course we got creole chicken and creole seafood pasta's. Both tasted great. For dessert we were going to split the French vanilla ice cream but we got an extra one because it was our anniversary. And to finish it off Mike treated us with a dessert drink that went well with everything else. It was a perfect way to end the night. Food was very well presented and I'm glad I got to dine out here, money well worth it. Would definitely go back and recommend to family and friends.

I took my boyfriend here to celebrate his 27th birthday with his mom. Soon as you walk in it was a warm and intimate setting. The owner took his time to explain the specials that were not in the menu. We got the salmon special for us ladies and steak special for my man DELICIOUS. The crab cakes and calamari were fire. This restaurant did not feel like most typical restaurants where you are rushed with your order. The service was superior. The bread you get to start with were amazing !!!! I wouldn’t change a thing. 10/10 lastly they give us dessert for his birthday and a dessert shot !! Just go!!!!!! The owner was very nice and watched over the tables and very personable man

Highlights were the food and drink here. The presentation was beautiful and unpretentious, everything we tried was simple yet flavourful. Crab cakes were the best we've had in Toronto, and my husband said his steak entrée was the best meal he'd had out this entire year. Seafood pot boil was 7/10: several times I crunched on grainy bits of sand in the clams. Also they put zucchini skins in it, which felt like disposals thrown in. The stew's spicing was well balanced, however I wish they'd been more attentive and asked if we wanted bread to go with it. Only other complaint was the initial long wait as despite a reservation, they took 15 more minutes to get us our seats. And the waiter initially serving us had an off-the-cuff unfriendly attitude. However, the owner who came by later as well as another waiter who ended up bringing our food for the second half of our dinner were nicer. The ambience and interior decor made us feel transported back to a family-run casual dining restaurant in the 1990s, which is a good thing in our books! Will return.

Amazing restaurant, I love the gumbo and the jambalaya was flavorful. If you come in pairs and order appetizers they will split the portions in the kitchen so you can each have your own plate. Very helpful for soups if you want to share. It was a pleasant surprise when they brought out two half-bowls of soup.

One word…DELICIOUS! My husband, my son and I were greet at the entrance by the owner himself with a warm welcome. Lead us to your seats and shared all the wonderful specials! It was hard to choose from. Everything sounded great. We started with a wonderful bottle of local white wine from the Niagara region. Our appetizers were, a Caesar salad with homemade dressing and scallops and crabcakes. (See pics) I am not a seafood or fish eater but I have to tell you I enjoyed the scallops and the crabcakes! I actually would come back for more of those crabcakes! We continued on to our main meals of blacked chicken, blacked steak and Cajun shrimp. (You most see the pictures) sorry not sorry! And if you can imagine we didn’t stop there. We follow with three desserts! Banana foster, pecan pie, and a crème brûlée to top it off! And it was worth it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All I can say is, this place is a must!!!!! Compliments to the chef! We’ll be back again, and again, and again! 😋

The best Seafood restaurant in Toronto! Started with the seafood gumbo soup and wow, best soup ever! Then the pictured dish (seafood boil) was heavenly, this place is a must try. The owner is very welcoming and patio is nice and cozy. Will definitely be a weekly treat. Highly recommend!

A fine dining experience that delivers amazing cajun flavours in an unexpected location! I’ve lived in the area most of my life and have always felt the area was lacking when it came to restaurant options, even in regards to take out. I probably have driven past New Orleans Seafood & Steakhouse hundreds of times coming home and never noticed it until I saw it pop up on google maps when looking for cajun restaurants in Toronto. Boy am I happy it did, because this has become easily the best restaurant in the area when factoring everything. First the location and service. The location is a lacking point, as the restaurant itself is very small and probably fits less than 30 people max. Although its size, it doesn’t get too loud in the restaurant and the interior design is very formal and has a hint of New Orleans culture. As for service, the family running this restaurant are incredibly kind and welcoming, the person I presume to be the owner was around making jokes with patrons and checking in on all of us, ensuring our glasses are full, and all requests are answered. Now onto the food, man does this place hit the spot. I’ve wanted to try cajun food for years but never thought a place like this would be so close to home. We started our meal with the crab cakes that do come in a serving of two. Without asking, we were presented our crab cakes on separate plates perfectly plated for myself and my date. Fried to perfection, tender inside but not mushy. Accompanied by a bouquet of fresh veggies, this was a great start to the meal alongside the complimentary bread. Onto our main dish, there were a couple options on the menu I wanted to try, but I felt Jambalaya had to be my first deep dive into cajun food. This dish, although being priced highly, is a hefty portion and easily feeds 2-3 people. The rice, the sausages, the various seafood, all of it was just amazing and fulfilled all my expectations and maybe even exceeded them. This restaurant has become the best fine dining restaurant in the area to me and will now become my go to spot for going out to celebrate special occasions.

Such good food and even better service! We had the crab cakes and Jambalaya for dinner it was really good! The jambalaya is for two people we could’ve fed three with appetizers, so the portion is great! And we had the crème caramel for dessert, very fresh and light! Everyone was so friendly it was a great experience we’ll definitely come back!

Cozy Restaurant that serves up BIG FLAVOUR! Had the chance to try a few items from the restaurant’s catering menu as well as the regular dinner menu and I was blown away by how deliciously seasoned and balanced everything was . The restaurant is clean , cozy and unassuming -you wouldn’t expect such an awesome restaurant at that quaint location BUT ITS THERE alright . My personal favourites were the Coconut crusted shrimp, the Jambalaya , the lobster and shrimp bisque and of course the beignets. The Service was speedy and staff were upbeat and friendly. The crispy coconut shrimp was served piping hot with a marmalade dipping sauce that I honestly wanted to drink like a soup on its own, a perfect complement to the shrimp. The lobster bisque was so packed with flavour , the right amount of spice and tiny bite sized bits of seafood. The jambalaya was Nice and thick. Rich with Cajun flavours and not too fishy . The Beignets were FRESHHH, hot light and fluffy. I will be back very sooon. Cover me in that marmalade sauce 🤣🤣.

Reservations is a must for this popular restaurant located in the west end of Toronto. We had reserved our table for 5:30pm and seeing that they opened at 5pm, we assumed it would be a quiet dinner. How wrong we were, the restaurant was full and they were turning walk-ins away at the door. Very limited free parking in front of the restaurant and about 10 spots available in the paid parking lot next door. Food was very good and not overly salty. Portions were on the smaller size but just enough food to feel full. A bit disappointed that our anniversary wasn't recognized with our dessert after telling them it was a special occasion. That's ok, they were very busy that night.

Dined with my family recently at this place, it was my first time and I was very impressed with the ambiance. It was fine dining at its best. The decor was primarily New Orleans style. The red tablecloths, cloth napkins, tall wine glasses, utensils were set up perfectly. Excellent service as well. Waiters were so accommodating and catered to our needs immediately. The food was delicious with a tad of spice adding flavour to the dishes. A wide choice of entrees of shrimps, fish, steaks, lobsters and many more. Luscious, succulent appetizers were also available. I will surely be back and will recommend this restaurant to my friends.

The jambalaya is a must -have in this restaurant. The crab cakes were very well fried but the filling could have been a bit more crabby. We had this special crab and lobster bisque, but we don't think it's worth it because it doesn't taste very seafoody or like the very intense bisque that I was looking for. They provide bread for free for each table so we use that bread to eat with the bisque which helped it make it more filling The service was average. The manager was walking around chatting with the regulars which was pretty cute. The bathroom was very hygienic and pretty nice. 130 dollars for two people
