I had octopus, steak and shrimp tacos. The meats were amazing and favourful. Lots of toppings but i feel like it was missing cilantro and hot sauce. Make sure to ask for next time. 9/10

Possibly the best taco I've ever had. I ordered only one blackened cod taco, because I was not that hungry. It was pretty big, I would only need two for a meal. The corn tortilla tasted very strongly of corn, and each of the toppings added freshness to the fish. The fish itself was freshly fried to perfection. There are a few standing tables for guests to dine at, and a self serve salsa station. Highly recommend this spot, it definitely lives up to the hype!

Went to Seven Lives today on the recommendation of a friend and I was very impressed! I enjoyed the corn tortilla and all the toppings on the taco- especially the fresh cilantro! But the star of the show was definitely the fish. It was perfectly battered and crispy! My only complaint is that I wish the taco was larger.

The batter on the fish taco was insanely light and fluffy. Perfect level of crispy. The daily special Suadero-braised beef belly was amazing. You only need two tacos, that will fill you up. But you always want to get three because they all look so good. This place is a must for any taco lover.

Would return./Have Returned. While the prices are higher than the others - you are buying much high quality of taco. Each taco has more flavourful ingredients and more of it. The shell is typical, but I definitely recommend trying their octopus, pork shoulder and chicken. Their Guac is made fresh, with chunks of avo and lots of lime. The fish is also a hidden gem, crispy with a creamy tangy slaw. Highly recommend. After doing a 2nd round of all the taco joints, this is by far the best. You pay for what you get here. Don't sleep on the fish or the octopus.

The chicken tacos and mushroom and halloumi tacos were amazing! Can’t wait to come back and try more!! For $7 a taco they are a good portion and I was very full after 2 tacos

Tacos were good but you only get 1 for the price but still quite filling. Its not something I would go out of the way for just because parking is a headache. Nachos are out of this world though. Would come again for them. Note theres no washrooms or chairs but there are stand up tables

I was craving Mexican Food so decided to give this place a try. Very simple menu - ordered the Baja fish tacos and Nachos (which were topped with pulled pork). They were both very good! I gave it 4/5 because the restaurant was not Wheelchair accessible and not suited for people with disabilities - there are only bar tables (no chairs), so you have to stand while eating.

You want a good taco, come here! They don't have chairs, but you don't need one since the food is so good that by the time you set, you've already devoured it :) The fish taco is my favourite, but they also offer amazing ceviche and smoked meats, and I loved their cactus juice. From crispy shrimp to swordfish or blackened fish, you won't be disappointed at Seven Lives!

The taco and salsa was really tasty. Tacos had a lot of fillings, two tacos easily filled me up. Our orders was ready pretty quickly. Not the cleanest place though :D

What a great experience. Expect a line up, small place with stand only high top tables. Small menu but the flavour is outstanding. A must try if you are in Toronto. I definitely recommend the Gobernador, very good.

We came here because my cousin recommended the spot and we’re so glad we stopped by! The tacos here are delicious and also quite filling too. I got the mushroom and cactus which was so good. My friend got the baja fish and he loved it. Staff are also friendly. Will definitely be returning!

Super low key taco place and that’s what make it special! Nothing fancy just very delicious tacos! I’ve had a few not the best experiences with tacos so my Argentinian friend took me here and this place did not disappoint Definitely going to get back and share with friends

The baja fish tacos were by far the best tasting ones, albeit quite greasy. I ordered 5 different tacos and none of the others were that great. Decent enough, but I personally thought that when the meat was good, the toppings were not - and vice versa. The ingredients didn’t’ seem cohesive. It is a generous size and so they’re definitely not skimping on the portion. But for the higher price, I think you can get better.

This is a very unique taco place in Toronto - don’t let the prices scare you as you are paying for a pretty big meal. I would suggest bringing cash as there is a cash only coupon that will get you a drink, two tacos, and chips on the side for $20 (and can probably be enough for two people). Flavours were amazing and I would definitely return!

Huge delicious taco spot in Kensington Market. I loved the fish but wasn’t a huge fan of the beef taco. The guacamole & chips were alright but I wont come back for it again. Overall nice spot but I might come again to try a different taco next time but I honestly prefer authentic tacos.

we meet to try this rest for a while now and we finally made it. there is no sitting area so you have to just stand by the tables. the tacos are good but I can say that I had better tacos somewhere else. the tacos are authentic but yet has flavour. for me it was the shell that through me off a bit. will I come back? I'm not sure but I'm glad I tried it once

Very popular Mexican spot for tacos! If you are in Kensington market it’s a must try spot. Tacos were about 7usd each it comes with 2 tortillas for a taco. You can help yourself with medium or hot salsa. No sitting place it’s a bar type tables to ear or if it is summertime take out will work great. Next time will try mushroom with cactus missed that one in this round

We ordered the fish tacos to go. Fish was crispy and the toppings are fresh and flavourful. We came when it just opened so the line wasn't long but usually the place is packed so prepare to wait. Prices are a bit more expensive since pre pandemic :(

Always packed! Nothing beats their Baja fish taco!!! Super good and goes great with the hot sauces toppings they serve right by the counter to add to your tacos. Disappointed that we were there at 6 (1 hour before closing on a Friday night) and were looking forward to the $20 cash deal after traveling an hour to get there but they had run out of the deal. So again was upset we couldn't get to try their chips!

Highly overrated. I failed to understand why. I got the shrimp and cheese taco and the daily special beef and bacon. Neither of them was good. Firstly it’s just one slightly large taco, which got completely soggy with the sauce and toppings. It has to be eaten with a fork because the taco is almost disintegrated. The shrimp sauce either went bad or it’s supposed to taste like it went bad. The beef and bacon was simply some ground beef and bacon sauted on the griddle with tons of fat/oil. Definitely wont recommend.

One of the best places for tacos in Toronto definitely! The customer service is good. Price is fair for the amount and quality of food. Food takes a long time so I recommend order in advance.

I tried Seven Lives Tacos for the first time on September 2018 and their tacos were so good that I became a regular. I didn't visit them for a while but today I paid them a visit and I can say that three years later their tacos are as good as usual. I had Carnitas and Gobernandor and both were amazing! They also moved to a bigger and nicer local with 5 large tables where customers can eat standing up.

Probably the best tacos in town! My only issue is that their service really seems to be off.. Maybe it's because of the pandemic. But something like offering a small container to fill up on sauce, for takeout orders, is not available. So we had to open 4 boxes of tacos right there, and put the sauce from the bottles before we took our order home. When asked for a small container to fill the sauce, they said that costs $3... But totally free if we pour the same sauce over there.. Just really confused by this lol. Otherwise their food is awesome.

Do I need to say much about 7 lives? You ask anyone in Toronto what their favourite taco spot is, and 9 times outta 10 they'll say seven lives. It's got a great menu, and the food always hits - no doubt about it. My favourite personally is the Baja fish so if you're looking for a delicious fish taco, this is the spot for you to go to.

Located in Kensington Market, Seven Lives has a casual atmosphere and fits right in with the chill vibe of the neighbourhood. It's a self service restaurant with no seating, but has some wooden standing tables at the store front for you to enjoy your food in the restaurant. It takes about 10 mins for them to prepare the tacos, but it's definitely worth the wait. Though I find the tacos here a bit messy to eat (keep lots of napkins handy), they're flavourful and has good balance of ingredients. There's also a good selection of different types of tacos to choose from.

Absolutely amazing. This place used to be a favorite of mine years ago. I haven't been since moving out of town. I came back this weekend and the tacos are just as good. We had the shrimp, pork, mushroom and cactus, Baja fish, octopus. The pork was a little dry as we went at the end of the day. They ran out of pork belly and cod. Everything else was so flavorful. We also ordered a side of Guacamole. It definitely had a little kick. This isn't a sit down but a quick service restaurant. Highly recommend this place.

Enjoyed some delicious tacos at Seven Lives Tacos y Mariscos today for lunch! My brother suggested we would try this place out and I was absolutely impressed by how good the tacos were!! Definitely will be coming back to this place again and also recommend it to anyone who's a taco lover! 🌮👍🏻

We visited this place on a road trip to Toronto and it turned out to be one of the best tacos in town. Our waitress was super nice and helpful. She patiently explained all the different types of tacos so that we had an easy job picking our favourites. All of them were tasty however I was surprised by the nacho which had fresh ingredients and a great smell. All in all, it's a must if you pass by in Kensington market. I will definitely come back if I visit Toronto next time

I saw this place on tiktok and was excited to try the tacos. I got 1 Octopus and 1 Beef taco. They were both good, I felt as if they were slightly too dry and while the portion of beef was good, there was not a lot of octopus. I also think that $7 per taco is a bit pricey. Other than that, the service was great and I like the energy in the restaurant.

Some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. Visited Toronto 5 years ago and stumbled upon this place and it was amazing so that meant that I had to visit it again this time when I was back in Toronto. It’s still as good and amazing. Ingredients were fresh and the taste was on point. I recommend getting the octopus one and also the pork one. Wish I had more time so I could’ve came back a second time.

I was looking for a good Taco place and found reviews for Seven lives and I didn’t disappoint me. I had ordered for their Baja fish taco and another one with shrimp and it was amazing. Blackened cod was already sold by 2pm on Monday afternoon. So they sell out fast.

  • 4/5 Selim J. 7 months ago on Google
Worth a hype! I went there on weekends at the busiest time, waited for 10-15mins to get the food which is not bad at all! Staffs are friendly and patient as well. Loved their taco, fish was fresh and not smelly at all. And I absolutely loved their spicy salsa it is actually spicy in a very good way🥰🥰

  • 4/5 Yuyu X. 7 months ago on Google
Great vibe and decoration. The spicy shrimp taco I ordered was ok, with too much sauce.. And there was no onion or tomato. My friend ordered octopus and fried fish, which looked and tasted better. IMO the price was quite high: $7.5 each. But I guess that’s the new normal in this city now.

  • 3/5 Nishi c. 5 months ago on Google
This place is so famous for its tacos but only 1 vegetarian/vegan option which is kind off disappointing. This place was packed and looked peppy. There was self service (which I’m guessing was because of the crowd on the weekends). The tacos is filling & the guacamole is 10/10.

  • 5/5 Li L. 8 months ago on Google
First time at the new location. So glad that there's more space to eat now. Service was really fast and instructions are easy to follow when picking up your order, There's also AC in the shop :) hard to enjoy great food when all you can think about is how hot it is. anyways, the tacos were amazing :D just like I remembered them to be.

  • 5/5 Jamie R. 7 months ago on Google
Seven lives tacos has the most flavorful tacos I've ever had, and I've been all over looking for comparable and yet to find that comparable. I've been bringing friends and family to Seven lives tacos whenever I give a tour, and I always get a joy of watching the reactions of their faces after their first bite. If you're new to the spot always start with the Gobernator and they got two bowls of sauce to spice it up, but be careful one of them has a serious kick of hot. It's self service and can be extremely busy especially on weekends, which I generally avoid going on. The best days to go are on the weekdays otherwise you could find yourself in a huge line up out the door. There are just a few high top tables without seats so be prepare to stand while eating and can be extremely packed on the weekends.

A little expensive for their portions, but it was worth it. The tacos were delicious and the staff were very friendly. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere - nice wooden tables and cool lights to add to the ambience. Just expect to wait at least 10 minutes for your food to be ready. Will visit again in the future!

  • 5/5 Anouchka R. 7 months ago on Google
Hands down one of the best taco spots in the city. The battered fish tacos was the winner! Also ordered another fish taco (non battered one) and the mushroom cactus. Super flavourful and freshly made to order. Can’t wait to revisit!

  • 5/5 Insia I. 8 months ago on Google
The Tacos 🌮 were mouth-wateringly delicious ❤️ However, beware of the hot salsa… it is burning spicy. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. Definitely would like to recommend.

  • 5/5 WalkingZoomies 8 months ago on Google
I kept on seeing great reviews on tiktok and I was happy to finally try this taco place a few weeks ago! There was a long line up when we came but we only waited less than 15 minutes to have our 6 tacos. There were a lot of cooks in the kitchen area, so I’d say this really helped in the efficiency of serving a lot of customers on the weekend. Best to try every flavor they have since they are generous with the servings. My favorite is the octopus and fish tacos. The only con I’d say is that the hot sauce area DOES NOT LOOK HYGIENIC because it did not have a lid on and a FLY can just easily land there. BRING YOUR OWN HOT SAUCE IF YOU CAN! The washroom located at the end of the restaurant is well maintained. I’d go back again after my holiday trip to gain some carbs and healthy fat.

  • 4/5 Lyneathan g. 8 months ago on Google
Great tacos. We tried the carnitas, Baja fish and the shrimp and queso. It was all delicious but I wish the shrimp was grilled or fried for some crunch. Side note: not sure why their salsa is placed right above their garbage can.

  • 4/5 Allester A. 2 years ago on Google
Craving Tacos and Seven Lives is usually my go to option. Came here for lunch on a Sunday, I used to come to Seven Lives a long time ago when they were still across the street at their old location. The new spot is a lot bigger but due to the current situation, they don't allow dine in. The vibe and aesthetic is lively. There's a lot of art and deco. For the food, this time I got the Gobernador and Blackened COD. I usually order the Gobernador when I come here. It is a taco with smoked tuna and grilled shrimp. The Blackened COD is, as you guessed it, grilled COD. During this visit, I feel like something is missing and its not as satisfying for me. And for the price (which increased from what I remember), I don't feel like I got value for my buck. To be fair, it's still good but makes me want to explore other options nearby. Will the king for my go-to taco spot be dethroned? Who knows. Overall, I would still recommend this place hands down. But if you're looking for value and to be satisfied, perhaps get 1 taco here and go elsewhere.

  • 4/5 Devya K. 9 months ago on Google
One of the best taco places in the city! Loved their tacos and nachos. I got full off of two tacos! Definitely worth it for the price. Dining area is pretty limited.

  • 4/5 Jaideep M. 9 months ago on Google
All the locals to Toronto love this place. The food is good but I wouldn't say the best tacos. Huge lines so be ready to wait. It's a standing style restaurant, eat and go, but no one cleans tables, no one empties the garbage. Tacos were decent. Horchata was also decent

  • 5/5 Agnes T. 11 months ago on Google
Always revisiting this tacos joint! It’s a must visit for me whenever I come back to Toronto! Freshly made & absolutely delicious, each bite sends exciting bursts of flavors in your mouth. Wish there were seatings so I can eat more comfortably while ordering more! Try to come before the lunch crowd surges.

  • 5/5 Emiirin 9 months ago on Google
Lemme tell you something!! This is my favourite taco place! Now to be fair, I don’t go to too many taco places, but this is my favourite. They only have standing tables but I’m fine with that, it adds to the atmosphere. The designs are so cute and the staffs are so nice and cheerful :) Now for the taco, my favourite, number 1, I will always get is the camarones a la diabla. The cheese! The shrimp! AH it so good!! If you’re ever in Kensington and want a quick bite, I’d recommend here for sure! But they are tacos, so obviously they can get messy, watch out for that!

  • 5/5 Greg W. 2 years ago on Google
The tacos are so flavourful and well made! I love the charredness of the fish / meats. The ingredients taste fresh, especially the toppings and guacamole on it. My friend got the combo they have at the moment, 2 tacos, 1 (huge) bag of tortilla chips, and agua fresca (which is like a mild juice / flavoured water) for $20. Considering the tacos are huge and are $7-8 each, the deal is so worth it. During COVID, they have a limit of how many people can wait / be inside at once which is really good. I can't wait to come back and get the combo next time!

  • 5/5 Vivian H. 2 years ago on Google
I ordered a shrimp tacos (spicy), and it is awesome. The price is so affordable ($7/each). I would recommend to come here and try it.

  • 5/5 Jenny 2 years ago on Google
Delicious! Previously came here later in the day and they had already sold out a lot of menu items so I definitely had to come earlier. Flavours were very good! And the tacos were pretty big will definitely come back to give other items a try!

  • 5/5 Sartaj S. 2 years ago on Google
Loved the decor and even the line out of the door. This place is a hit!! We had the fish and shrimp tacos, and I was very impressed. Definitely order more than one, you will be hungry. Would have liked the price a little lower, felt $7 per taco was steep, but the quality was unparalleled.

  • 4/5 Praneeth 2 years ago on Google
We have tried the Baja fish and Pollo Asado (chicken) tacos here. It was Saturday, while the place can get very busy, they managed to serve pretty quick (less than 10 mins) We really liked the Pollo Asado, the guac was perfect and the pico de gallo sauce totally gave the punchy flavour in combination for the chicken. The Baja taco was alright. And yeah make sure to pair up one jarritos alongside your food :) Would definitely visit again.

  • 4/5 Sydney H. 2 years ago on Google
Are the tacos delicious? Spectacular. Fresh? Very. Budget friendly? Definitely not. I got 2 tacos, a drink and my bill came to $25. So beware of that. It is worth it though, especially the blackened tuna taco — out of this world. Also there’s no chairs…you have to buss the table yourself and stand while you eat :/ don’t know what’s up with that!

  • 5/5 Miriam E. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely delicious. The tacos are quite large, we happily split 4 between 2 people for lunch. The shrimp taco is the more famous one I believe, that draw in the tourists and it’s delicious, with a surprisingly creamy sauce. The Baja fish taco is possibly even better than the shrimp taco, so don’t sleep on it.

  • 4/5 Cindy 2 years ago on Google
Tried out the Baja Fish tacos, great flavours. Great variety of taco options to choose from which was nice. The service was reasonably quick especially as it can get busy on the weekends. It's a bit on the higher end price point compared to other taco places within the area.
