As a regular visitor who comes at least once a month, I highly recommend giving this place a visit at least once in your life. The fish give such calming energy. I have an annual pass so it’s great that I can come anytime and don’t have to reserve a time slot (I think regular tickets make you reserve a time slot). This place can get busy though, especially on weekends ! The best time to go, in my opinion, is between Mon. - Thurs. as there are lot less people and children so you can take your time walking through the aquarium’s path

This is certainly one of the most amazing places to visit if you want to experience the majesty of the ocean. Absolutely stunning exhibits, amazing information and a 5 star facility. HOWEVER, the amount of people they let in the building at once is atrocious. It is packed and severely reduces the enjoyment of the experience. Having people crowd up next to you or grind up on you while looking at fish tarnishes the experience. I would gladly pay double the price for the ticket for half people.

Great place to take the kids, the play area great to take a break while they play. The second time we went here it felt shorter. The table where you get to touch some of the sea life was closed. We remember there being a jellyfish tank that was in the floor that wasn't there second time (maybe we're remembering wrong) The gift shop is very overpriced, would like to have gotten a t shirt or sweatshirt as a souvenir, but they were upwards of $100 each.

The most beautiful aquarium I've ever seen, with activities such as stroking a starfish, fast-food outlets and very affordable souvenir stores. Everything is clean and well presented. It's a place to do over and over again.

We attended the monthly jazz night event where you can enjoy alcoholic beverages throughout your tour and listen to live jazz music in the main section. This was our first time and absolutely loved the part where the escalator brought you through the underwater experience. Sharks, large turtles, stingrays and fish swam all-around us. It was a really great experience. They also have a large kids section too, for all ages, if you have any.

I had fun time here. I went there at last night because I don't like to be around with too many noisy people. The staffs were so friendly even though I was there very late. I told them, "I took so many pictures!", and they replied me " Seems like you have lot of fun! We are happy to see that!" It is a good and positive experience here.

Very crowded but we really enjoyed the tunnel and seeing the sharks, stingrays & turles, groups of fish swam over our head ls was really cool! I Was hoping to see more jellyfish. I also liked the seahorses and sea dragons. Takes about 1-2hrs to finish seeing everything unless you want to read all the info on the displays. In general, it is a good place to spend time with your family. There are washrooms which nice. Also sitting space is available in duration as it’s too much walk specially for seniors citizens and kids. There is a big variety of item in the souvenir shop. Finally, I was able to see many marine species and rare species. It was a clean and maintained place. At the end they showed documentary where they tells how they maintain all water and temperature for various species. Also you get chance to touch string rays which is fun and interesting part of visit.

Tickets - there are few ways in which you can get your tickets, 1. Online 2. on the premise, if you have a debit/credit card you can use the ticket kiosk available, which has fewer people in the queue and is faster. I booked my ticket on the premise via the ticket kiosk but it only printed me the receipt but no tickets, I followed up with the assistance counter there and mentioned the problem, they were able to print me the ticket, took me 15 min total, to get tickets. The aquarium - is very well maintained and clean. The main attraction is the shark tunnel. I was there with my kid and he really enjoyed it. I have been to another aquarium which had a larger collection of fishes and the entry ticket was also cheaper, but this place is in the heart of the city so ticket cost might be justified. The place has a cafeteria where you can get a quick bite and rejuvenate, I tried pizza and fries, cheese pizza 🍕🍕 was good. Do carry your water bottle as you might get thirsty during your tour, there are water fountains available where you can refill water.

I bought tickets online for a 2 o’clock entry, got there at 1:50 and finally got in around 2:20. In the line, I asked an employee if this was typical and he said it was and that they sell up to 800 tickets for every hour time slot. With a mostly one way aquarium and narrow exhibits, you can imagine what this would look like, and it definitely made me uncomfortable being so close to so many people, especially since we are still at the tail end of Covid-19. That said, there are some great features to the aquarium with the highlight being the moving walkway through the underwater tunnel with sharks, rays, fish and turtles all around. The jellies are always beautiful to look at and the touch pool is nice for the kids (if you can find a spot), but the kids play area seemed absolutely bonkers and the food area has very little seating. If half the tickets were sold, it would be a place I’d go back, but if those crowds are normal, I’m staying away.

This is a great aquatic investment, old and young love it here. So much to see, kids also have engaging play areas that suits the idea of the aquarium and things they love generally. I highly recommend it. Street or paid parking are available

Very good, a lot of kids but it is expected. The aquariums are well maintained, the fishes are great, the exhibitions are diverse and keep you entertained with facts and little activities along the way. The whole process of getting in was flawless since we got our tickets online. Overall it was great.

Loved it. A really great aquarium with a broad range of oceanic and freshwater life. I particularly enjoyed the part focused on Canadian lakes and oceans as it was beautiful and also informative about our own wildlife and habitats. The coral reef was great, the tunnel with sharks and turtles and large fish was excellent, and overall it was just a really great way to spend some time. Good for families, couples, or even a single adult looking to see some beautiful aquatic plants and animals. Definitely recommend.

Took the kids on a weekday a few weeks ago. It was not busy. If you’re going to spend the money, I recommend going during the week as we were able to take our time, not have to worry about crowds, and see everything. The food wasn’t too badly priced either. My 5 and 11 year old both had a blast. There are lots of different interesting sections for everyone to see and be amazed. They even have discounted parking you can sign up for on their website and save money and time to trying to find somewhere to park.

This place is awe inspiring for every age group. I have brought My now 3 year old and my infant - both had a great time. Downfall with COVID the playground was closed and my oldest was super looking forward to it since he played on it our first time visiting. It can be quite pricey and the food is not awesome. But this place is very dreamy and educational for all members of the family

Ripley’s Aquarium Canada is a mesmerizing underwater wonderland that captivates visitors of all ages. From the moment you step inside, you’re transported into a world filled with breathtaking aquatic life. The attention to detail in recreating various marine habitats is truly impressive, making it feel like you’re diving into the deep sea. The highlight of the aquarium is undoubtedly the mesmerizing Shark Tunnel. Walking through this transparent tunnel as massive sharks and graceful rays glide above you is an awe-inspiring experience. It’s a perfect opportunity for visitors to confront their fears and gain a newfound appreciation for these incredible creatures. The diversity of marine life on display is extensive, from colorful tropical fish and delicate seahorses to playful jellyfish and ancient sea turtles. The interactive exhibits provide a hands-on learning experience for children and adults alike, making it an educational outing as well. The facility is well-maintained, and the staff is knowledgeable and eager to answer questions. It’s worth noting that it can get crowded during peak hours, so planning your visit during quieter times can enhance your experience. Overall, Ripley’s Aquarium Canada offers a fantastic adventure beneath the waves, combining entertainment and education in a way that’s both fun and enlightening. It’s a must-visit attraction in Toronto for anyone interested in the wonders of the ocean.

Best place to spend time with family ,friends and kids.It was an awesome experience. We visited it during August of 2020. I love the tunnel seeing all kind of fish passing by on top of my head.Loved the Aquarium, looking at the sharks, jelly fish, stingrays, water turtles, swordfish, octopus and other fish.It is a great place to learn about under water animals and creatures. Place was really well managed during social distancing era. Masks were mandatory and proper hygiene was maintained. We booked tickets for aquarium online prior, but it could be received on booking counters available there as well . If you are in Toronto then this is the place which should not be missed.. 😊

A nice place to visit, especially for kids. A great way to see sealife closely and the long underwater viewing tunnel makes the experience extra special. It may not attract adults or elders but definitely good for families with kids. The ticket price is very costly though. Time required: 1 to 2 hours Best time to visit : in the afternoon Cost : $50+ dollars for an adult

I loved this aquarium. They have so many cool aquatic animals. There are big tanks with fishes, sharks, rays, turtles and other creatures. You get so involved that's easy to loose track of time! It can be a quick visit or a whole day activity.

It is a fun place to be. You can easily spend some couple of hours mesmerizing about the aquatic world. They got octopus/sharks/turtles and many other species. I like the dangerous lagoon in particular as it transforms you under water and the experience is great. We have visited this place many times, as my kid loves this place, in particularly the little play area they have.

It was quite a nice experience. We went with two kids who were eight and none years old. We have visited aquariums in Bangkok, Dubai, and India. This is similar to them. The highlights for us were the jelly fish collection and the screen with information of life at every level below sea. The staff were very friendly. We bought the tickets over the counter, and they helped us to get the best price available. All in all, it is a great place to go with the kids.

Was my 2nd visit, had not been in years since my children were young. Now this trip without kids, well it was pretty much all families with small children. Pretty busy and lots of kids screaming but still lots of fun and enough room to admire the beautiful aquatic life. Staff were all great.

Great place to spend a couple of hours. Amazing gallery of fish. It's actually a good time to visit during COVID19 because it's not crowded at all and you can enjoy the exhibits. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's super easy to navigate in the aquarium and you can find signs almost everywhere. The gift shop has a variety of options to buy from souvenirs to a small something to remember the visit by. There are a number of t-shirts with extremely interesting designs. You'd definitely want to check those out.

Fun Fun Two Fun’s out of three Review: A fun time for family to spend a couple hours seeing aquatic creatures they would typically never see up close. Especially enjoy seeing the sharks, sting rays, and Jellyfish. Kid Approved: Yes Return Visit: Yes we bought an annual membership as two visits cover the cost of the family pass.

The jellyfish show at this aquarium is mesmerizing. I’d really like to know how they engineered this exhibit. Do yourself a favor and come check it out. In the “tunnel underwater” exhibit you will have sharks, rays, and fish passing over you. The anemone exhibits burst with a gorgeous array of color. This aquarium also makes an exhibit of its massive water filtration system. Despite Ripley’s not being as massive as the Georgia Aquarium, it is still beautifully curated and very worthwhile visiting.

Always a good time at the Aquarium! Some exhibits were closed however. No mask mandate. Staff were all friendly, informative and engaging. Exhibits haven’t changed much since our last visit a few years ago. Gift shop items are overpriced. Great variety of aquatic animals. Several different sharks and at least two sea turtles. Give yourself at least an hour if you have small kids. Facility is wheelchair accessible and family friendly. Aim for slower times if you don’t like crowds. There is a small cafeteria near the children’s interactive area.

Love the Aquarium! It was our first time taking our grandson (4 yrs old) and he loved all the interactive aspects of the exhibits. Washrooms were clean. The Cafe food was pricey but tasty. The gift shop at the end of our visit had reasonably priced choices for him to choose from. The one negative I will mention: the Cafe had no lids on the kids slushy drinks. Small thing to mention, but big problem with a toddler. Overall, Ripleys Aquarium never disappoints!

I've been coming to Toronto few years and have always had the intention of coming here but never got the opportunity. I brought my best friend here for her special day(it was both of our first times) and we absolutely loved it. The under water creatures are incredibly beautiful. There are so many different stations with all sorts of fish. So many different colours, and you actually learn so much coming here. I would 150% recommend coming here, you will have so much fun

Very impressive aquarium with selections from all over the world and also with specific species in different areas of Canada. The staff were excellent and the flow of the attraction was perfect. Pricing was good for the value. Really enjoyed the amount of information provided in addition to the spectacular displays. There was a lot of engagement opportunities for youth and adults. There were even some "Ripley's" attractions thrown in. The tunnel display is especially impressive. Well worth the visit

Love this place! Kids are 12 and 5 and both had a great time. Timed entry was great, there was no line ups or clusters of people waiting to get in - even for going on reopening weekend. Everything flowed rather well and all the visitors seemed to be mindful of keeping 6ft apart. Sanitizer was set up throughout for convenience, especially around interactive displays. Signs were posted asking you to use it before AND after you use the displays. Staff was very friendly and took the time to explain a few of the tanks with us. Overall great experience! Nice to have some T.O attractions open for visitors again.

Excellent experience today at Ripleys Aquarium. I enjoyed the timed appointment which gave everyone a chance to get up close and personal with the exhibits. Covid protocols were in place but didn't effect the experience. Each section is well laid out and informative. Lots of opportunities for hands on learning. You can even pet the rays at the end. We missed the divers who were feeding in the tank as we had the very first appointment but weren't disappointed. It took us about 2 hours to go through and we could have taken a bit longer easily! It was a very fun day!

I went for the first time since the pandemic and I was pleasantly surprised at the efficiency of the line, as the staff ensured all guests had the vaccination cards and tickets in record time. There were tons of people— I would prefer there to be a cap for the # of people, but that can’t be helped. My friend and her brother were equally happy at the wide array of sea animals present. My only wish is that there were monthly paint nights or even a jazz and wine night for just the adults, as families with young children can make the experience more hectic. Nonetheless, it seems people from all age groups loved the exhibit.

Great place to visit on a rainy day. Great exhibits, very unique. I would give 5 stars if the price was more reasonable. $148 for a family of four to Enjoy 2-3 hours is very high. Add in parking, and overpriced food and you're well over $200.

The experience was great. The fun you'll have depends on your interest in underwater life. Although the aquarium is quite entertaining for every age, it will mostly excite kids since there are kid-exclusive experiences (ex. Little see-through tunnel going inside a fish tank, kid park inside the aquarium). Aquarium also has a cafe located inside but only works at select times (I do not remember exactly)

Had an amazing time this weekend, took a friend from out of town to visit. Bought tickets in advance, and while the aquarium was busy, the entry was efficient and didn't have to wait in line at all! We got to see the Dive show and saw sting rays being fed - it was educational, insightful, and fun! Also got to touch a Sting ray - that was amazing! My favourite is still the tube with the conveyor belt - seeing sharks and schools of fish and sea turtles swim around you is just an incredible feeling - like diving but without the gear! It was a great afternoon!

I went here for my birthday and it was a great experience. It wasn’t v busy but obviously it’s summer so you still do expect attractions to be crowded. The place itself is well maintained with a wide variety of fish and other marine life. The conveyor belt was particularly cool and loved watching the sharks. Also, touching a stingray was not something I thought I had to experience but was definitely worth it.

Beautiful place. You can buy tickets in advance or at the door. We bought them on line just few minutes before and we didn’t have to wait at all. Excellent place to bring your little kids because there is a playground and the whole experience in general is super fun. The food is surprisingly good! This is not too common in places like this :). The sharks and jelly fishes are so beautiful, and the sea turtles are a show apart. We took beautiful pictures in the glass tunnel that look so good. Wonderful place to visit more than once.

This is the second time visiting this place in 3 years and the latter visit is equally exciting and fun. We had to wait in the line for 10 mins to enter despite buying tickets in advance but can’t complain as it was a weekend. The selection of fish is beyond imagination and you’ll be amazed by the beauty of the nature trapped in glass boxes. It might take anywhere between 2-3 hours to complete the visit depending on how crowded the place is. Cleanliness is good and the staff is friendly.

This place is awesome! All year-round fun that is great for kids and adults. The tour is self guided and has several stops for a quick fun activity before moving on. It was a fun experience! The aquarium has a lot of immersive ways to view the sea creatures. They have good covid-19 safety measurement in place. Visitors are good at following them as well. Near the exit, they also made the water treatment system used at the aquarium part of the exhibit, which was very interesting to see.

Wow, so I have attended Aquariums before, but no place quite like this. This was my first experience at Ripley's Aquarium and I can say that I highly recommend it. It has a large variety of different fish and sea creatures. I was a big fan of the Sea Turtle who just wanted to do laps. He made the fish look lazy... We had a wonderful experience at the aquarium even during Covid. It was so nice to get out and do something. It felt super safe with sanitizing stations everywhere, people cleaning and sanitizing all the time, and the best part we were always by ourselves with the marine life. I think we saw a total of 26 people the entire time we were there and it was easy to distance from everyone at all times! The exhibits were fantastic. There was a lot of information about what we were looking at and at all times we could see the creatures close up and personal. I highly recommend this aquarium.

One of the coolest aquariums I have seen. The places is really nice with all the lighting. I particularly liked the part where they have moving walkway which makes the tour of the place more accessible and kind of cool. The Jellyfish area is really awesome even with the smaller ones. There are a few activities for good to explore the place in a more playful environment while getting to see the fishes up close. Note: The tickets to the place are easily sold out, especially if there is a game going on at Scotia Arena or if it is a weekend, so if you are planning your trip to Toronto and wanted to see the place, I would suggest book your tickets in advance.

A paradise for aquarium lovers covering both Canadian fresh water to warm salt water species around the world. It was my first visit to the Ripley’s. It was nice to see one way foot traffic though the place was crowded in weekend. I was awestruck seeing the underwater tunnel, the lightings, interactive station for kids. The jellyfish , shark , sea anemones section were very impressive. I recommend booking the City Pass for visiting this place as that is quite affordable and covers 5/6 major places of attractions in Toronto including Ripley’s aquarium. The pass is valid for 9 days.

Not first time here. What's new here, it is a cafeteria. It is an automated pizza reheat (pretty decent pizza by the way) and soft ice cream ("frozen yogurt"). Fishes and sharks are all the same. Pretty crowded on weekends, but we didn't feel any inconvenience. Would recommend this place after the lockdown to start socializing with kids.

This place never fails to amaze kids and adults regardless. Highly recommended to buy tickets in advance. We went on 26th dec and the food court was not manned however there are automatic vending machines. There is a hot pizza machine which makes a small size pizza with the toppings of your choice in 3 minutes, also there is a frozen yogurt and juice/shake machine. There are a few snacks and drinks vending machines also. You would love this place. The whole thing can be experienced in 2 hours if you are with kids which includes snack time.

More than I expected! Sharks and jelly fish dark wall! Need I say more? The underwater conveyor belt is obviously the main attraction. But don’t miss out on touching the rays in the open water tank.

I highly recommend going!! It is amazing!! Definitely better than I expected! We will be going again for sure!!! Towards the end, there is a spot you can put your hands in the water and touch shrimp and stingrays. SO AWESOME! This place is great for kids of all ages 1-99😁

Great experience for the family, a small outing with friends, or a date. Went on Dec 26th and it was a little crowded. Following the directed path within the aquarium can run you about 45mins to an hour depending on how fast you go. I would definitely go again, but not super often. Like twice a year is good enough.

I got the chance to finally visit Ripley's Aquarium this winter break. Not gonna lie, it's a bit pricey lol. There are a ton of aquariums and exhibits showcasing various creatures. My favorite was the moving walkway where you could observe so many creatures in a tunnel-like area. Currently there is an area where you can sit and eat but not buy food. They also have activities for kids to learn about salt water concentrations and temperature.

No other place like this place around so easy 5 stars. Couple of thoughts though. There are a lot of high touch surfaces for kids so if you're concerned, make use of the hand sanitizer stations that are all around. There's no good dining inside the building, in my opinion, and you aren't allowed outside food or drink so you might need to get creative. You do have to wear a mask.

Excellent place to spend a day with your kids and family or friends. This aquarium is huge and has loads of species and sea creatures that you would love to watch them and experience on the other side of glass and can witness to see those huge shark, turtle, star fish and Stingray fish and so on. Lots of color and different variety of fish and sea horse etc are some of the main attraction. Aquarium offers some water and sea activities as well in same ticket package. One can buy tickets online as that will be cheaper than the one at the windows except any deal is going on in certain season. Overall worth visiting the place.

A little pricey, but overall a good experience for myself and my kids. Lots of unique and interesting sea creatures to see and learn about. The tunnel is the best part in my opinion, but the kids said that being able to touch the sting rays was the best part for then. At the time of this review, you needed a vax passport, mask and ID to get in. FYI

A beautiful escape from the city life, right in the middle of city life. I love this place. The aquarium is actually very large and houses a wide variety of fish. Sharks, turtles, jellyfish and everything in between. I would recommend avoiding the peak hours, as it can green very busy and you definitely lose that sense of calm and tranquility when the place is packed. But if your have to go when it's busy, I still recommend going. It's a must see place.

Awesome experience! Worth every dollar the ticket price. You can spend as long as you want without getting tired here. It's amazing to see how how many different species they have under one roof. Wheelchair accessible throughout. Staff is friendly and their gift shop has a good selection with varying price ranges.

Absolutely stunning, amazing, adventurous, and beautiful experience. We bought the City Pass and this was our first stop yesterday, and it was surely the highpoint of our day. Will definitely visit again in the future, hopefully, it will be less crowded, at times i feel as though am suffocating and i can be hard to get a very good picture. I felt like a kid on an adventure learning new things that I surely never knew about so many water creatures. Wow, wow, wow, it was truly beautiful. I do recommend visiting this place once you are Ontario, Canada, it can be fun, especially, for the kids.

An absolutely wonderful experience. It was overcrowded even though they had safe distancing signs everywhere. They have a moving belt and you can easily view all the sea animals. We didn't get to see the octopus at all though. But other than that a great enjoyable and learning experience for adults and kids alike. Worth the price you pay for it. Would love for them to make it a spacious and less crowded experience.

The best place to spend a day, noon or evening. Amazing and admire the ingenuity of the designers and architects. Specially fun not only for the kids but educational for all ages! Enjoy it and a must visit as not all are privileged to go deep see diving and see the sea world! Was amazed at seeing the Sting Rays and all the beauty of God brought near for us to enjoy! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Went here about 7 years ago and it was just as good as I remember it. They have a ton of amazing exhibits including an underwater tunnel with a conveyor belt that runs the length of the tunnel. It gives you an awesome look into the world of sea life without having to do anything but stand there and watch. Tons of educational information throughout the entire place that can keep you immersed for hours. If you are visiting Toronto this is a must see.

Great and accessible place to see marine animals. Went on the 11th/Tuesday and took some stellar photos. I did notice that there were a severe lack of staff as children were banging on the glass and messing with the animals. Management needs to care more about this as it was a constant issue throughout the exhibit. If you are a responsible person this place is for you. If you cannot parent your child maybe go to a McDonald's or stay home

First thing first buy the tickets online and arrive after your time starts to get immediate entry so you don’t waste time waiting in line. The aquarium was an easy walk from a local hotel. We were here for a short stop before we headed north. The aquarium was clean and easily accessible. The displays were interesting. The people mover was nice but a bit slow for my liking. Overall a nice aquarium but a little on the expensive side for the experience.

A really great aquarium with lots of cool fish, sting rays (sea flap flaps) and sharks. The moving walkway through the big tank was very cool and gave you a good opportunity to take it all in. Up above there is a tank where you can reach out to pet the rays if they come up, which was very cool. We really enjoyed the section which showed how all the water and tanks are maintained. That was unique and unexpected but informative. Come prepared for it to be extremely busy no matter what: Despite having booked a time slot and having gone later in the evening, this place was absolutely packed - mainly with the very young children we had been hoping to avoid. At the end of the day it’s a tourist hotspot so it is what it is.

First time going and I really had a good time. Very educational and the living creatures are really cool The area they have for the sharks is definitely the coolest part. The only thing that knocks this down is the visitors taking photos which was okay but the time I went it went like a photoshoot so it was a bit annoying. Everything else was really really great. Price is reasonable and crowd level was good. Would recommend for sure!

Honestly, other than the moving walk-way that takes you though the underwater tunnel, I found the experience sub-par. We visited on a weekday afternoon in August and there were simply too many people present. The number of people made it overwhelming for our little one as well. It was amazing to see the sea turtles, sharks and sting rays, but I would recommend going earlier in the morning when there are less people. I would personally not return, but I can see why people would be curious to visit.

I've been to many aquariums, so I went there with not-so-high expectations. Turned out, it was one of the best aquariums I've been to. The underwater tunnel experience was amazing, and there were so many sharks and stingrays. I highly recommend this place to everyone, especially if you have kids! Tip: you can get $5 discount if enter after 5pm. Takes about 1 hour to 90min to see everything and spend a little bit time at the gift shop.

I had an absolutely incredible experience at Ripley's Aquarium! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the mesmerizing underwater world they've created. The variety of marine life on display is astonishing, and the interactive exhibits were both fun and educational. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyment of my visit. I can't recommend this place enough – it's a must-see for anyone, young or old, who's fascinated by the beauty of the ocean. My visit to Ripley's Aquarium was truly a 5-star adventure!

Lovely place and their collection of fish is huge. The fish looked healthy and well maintained. The kids had lots of fun. We got to see all different species and got to know about them by reading the boards. They also have spaces to celebrate birthdays. There is also a souvenir shop before exit. Food court is also available. Hard to get parking as it is in downtown.

Great experience for people of all ages. It was about $36 dollars after converting from CAD to USD when I went which felt like a pretty decent price compared to similar attractions in the US which usually run much higher. I enjoyed getting to see all the animal exhibits. The jelly fish on the ceiling was probably the coolest. It’s easy to miss since your aren’t expecting to have to look up in that area. Getting to touch some of the animals in the water at the end is cool too, I just wished there was a spot to wash my hands afterwards.

Really nice experience for all ages. Somewhat expensive but expected for an aquarium. Easily spend a couple of hours here seeing all sorts of aquatic life. The layout has an interesting design and creates many nooks and crannies in addition to the supersized aquariums to keep it interesting especially for smaller animals. Recommended

It was an awesome experience. It's my first experience to see the ocean creature very close by. We can literally touch some of the fish like Sting ray in designated tanks. Different kinds of sharks alive in the pools. Some of the jelly fishes are glowing like illumination lights and was a pleasant feel to watch. It is good place to spend a day with kids and many information related ocean are available there. At the end of the trip, there is a wonderful shop to buy souvenirs. It is a very close place to reach from Pearson Airport by train. If you have 6-8 hour lay over in Toronto airport during day time, do not miss the opportunity.

Well organized after COVID reopening with timed tickets and clear floor spacing markers. Even the moving belt had surfboard shaped markers and an employee to remind us how to socially distance. Saw roped off areas to prevent crowding and workers diligently cleaning railings and glass.

We went to the acquarium last week and thoroughly enjoyed the entire day.., spent about 3 hrs there. The tunnel with a variety of animals was fantastic! The rays at the end of tour seemed friendly and wanted public attention, allowed you to touch them and they seemed to return for more..would be great for kids, would be best for children > 8 years old.

Definitely a go-to in Toronto if you are looking for an experience with the kids. Compared to other Aquariums, i found that Toronto was clean, well lit, interesting, had lots of local flavour to it with beautiful fish that is found in nearby lakes. I also enjoyed the displays that showed how the water is filtered and oxygenated. The most interesting part is the the tunnel aquarium where you stand on a moving carpet and you are surrounded by a tank that contains sharks, turtles, exotic fish, simply amazing!

Had a great family time there. We went by appointment only due to Covid-19. Not crowded at all, wearing masks the entire time. Loved the Aquarium, looking at the sharks, jelly fish, stingrays, water turtles, swordfish, octapus, big groupers and thousands of other fish. When they started to build the aquarium, I made fun of it. First of all, an aquarium not on the ocean? Second, Ripleys believe it or not? However, it really is an amazing aquarium. Better than Any I have everything to on a coastal city. The manta ray tank, the shark tank. The great lakes fish. Well designed. Educational. Great for children. Interesting for adults. Honestly one of the best places in Toronto to take a kid especially on a cold day.

Having been to some great aquariums I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the entire experience. The reduced crowds due to covid was a nice bonus. Some activities are closed off but nothing that affected me, however some of the hands on activities not being available for children should be noted.

We had such an amazing time. We were so enamoured by all the sea creatures and indeed appreciative of the efforts taken to put that whole facility together. The entire facility is so well kept and hygiene at the top of the list...with all the sanitisation stations everywhere. We had a nice lecture about the Sting Rays. My family had a great experience. Well done Ripley's Aquarium team.

Came here with the family including a newborn. This is a great place to visit for an afternoon. Lots of things to look at and learn about; just take a look at all the photos I've uploaded. My top three views are the sharks, jellyfish, and the water processing plants. I just wish there were nursing stations. This would be very helpful for new families/parents.

Beautiful, exciting at times and busy! It is exactly what you think it will be, you walk through checking out the different aquariums and reading some facts along the way, make your way to the moving sidewalk tunnel where you get the underwater view.

It is a beautiful aquarium, although it does not impress you if you had the chance to see others greater than this one (like Churaumi in Okinawa, for example). It has samples of local fishes and a beautiful main tank where the star was definitely a giant sawfish! If you have some free time, it's worthy visiting!

Wonderful place to visit for all ages. We purchased an annual membership when are children were young and even after going a bunch of times they were still excited. Plan to spend at least half of a day exploring, lots of places to sit and watch the fish.

Ripleys is an excellent, state of the art aquarium with lots to see. It is structured in an interesting and fun way, which is also highly educational - for friends and family. I would highly recommend this tourist attraction, even to local Toronto residents like myself - though I'm sure we've all been here at least once!

Great Museum. Exhibits were very interesting. Mostly aquarium life but during our time there the theme was Earthquakes and Winter which is reasonable for this time of year. Take advantage of the Dome theatre and Earthquake Simulator. We were lucky enough to score free tickets but had to pay for 3 extra child tix for $25 each!

A definite must do for anyone visiting the Toronto area! This was an unexpectedly large and robust aquarium with a variety of rooms and aquatic species. They do a great job of making you feel immersed in the tanks, with moving conveyor belts through the large tank area, that slowing take you through the area to observe the various animals in there. They also have kids areas with touch and feel tanks, a play area, and some interactive button and screen areas. It can be pricey if you buy it one-off, so do the city pass, and get more bang for your buck. The gift shop has some fun and cute offerings as well, so check that out before you leave. We grabbed up a magnet for our fridge, which we collect everywhere we travel. Overall: A+ A great aquarium with plenty of interactive areas and things to see / learn!

  • 5/5 Thicc D. 3 years ago on Google
This is a nice aquarium. I went here while I was in Toronto and was satisfied with my experience. I walked into this aquarium and bought my ticket at the admissions desk. After I did that, I walked through the aquarium. I passed through an area which had a lot of tall sea kelp, a jellyfish exhibit, a tunnel surrounded by water filled with sea life, and a children’s play area with a submarine and an interactive exhibit about how canal locks work. It’s a diorama with locks an snots that you can move, and it has real water in it. This exhibit really helped me understand how locks work, which is very nice. After I went to the canal lock interactive exhibit, I left the aquarium, satisfied with my experience. I gave this aquarium five stars because it has great exhibits.

I LOVE this place. I bought an annual pass because literally this is the best place to chill in Toronto. Before COVID I would go 3 times a week in the evenings and just watch the fish. People usually only go a few times a year with an annual pass but I took full advantage of it! Firstly it’s BEAUTIFUL. So many different fish. I especially love the kelp tank. I absolutely adore the cleaning shrimp and feel so peaceful with the sea nettles. Their food is great too! I recommend the funnel cake and poutine. As a member you have soooo many perks so if you love it. Buy it.

Great place to get amused.Excellent place to bring kids as well. The moving under water way is the primary attraction. It nearly feel like under ocean. The ticket is quiet expensive but worth it (around 48-50. bucks including tax) since there are a lot to see and experience.

My wife and I had an amazing time. It's a wonderful place to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing and learning about the wide variety of species of fish and marine life. The sharks and stingrays were awesome. The moving walkway is a cool feature. The archway allowed the fish and sharks to swim over your head! Our first visit to the aquarium. It was nice having one way flow of foot traffic and were able to see everything. It wasn't as big as expected but the underwater tunnel is the best part. Not sure if it's worth the price given it only took about 90 minutes to go through.

  • 5/5 Ramy S. 2 years ago on Google
Great place for the little ones with some fun for the older crowd, believe it or not! You'll enjoy almost all parts and experiences in each zone. It's a true must go you're around, have time, and are craving some learning for you and the family. Did you know that on top of the building, there are two shark light decoration pieces that light up at night, pretty cool!

I really enjoyed my visit to Ripley's aquarium of Canada. Next to the Boston aquarium it's one of the best ones I've visited so far. The variety is big and everything os well documented. The prices are on the higher side but justifiable. Definitely would recommend this to everyone interested in marine biology and underwater creatures. The highlight is certainly the u underwater tunnel, which is impressive..

Take advantage of the CITY PASS and visit Ripley’s Aquarium. It’s great for all ages. I stared at the jellyfish for a good 10 mins! It’s very informative, and you will learn a lot. Give yourself about an hour and a half to go through everything without rushing.

$97 for two adults to go through in about 75 minutes, which was a little disappointing. HOWEVER, it is absolutely worth experiencing at least once! There is a fantastic array of different species and an appreciable amount of information on the Great Lakes' species and history. Like a lot of other reviews, the underwater tunnel is one of the highlights without a doubt, but that said, the jellyfish tank was a surreal experience and my favourite part. All the animals look pretty happy, too!

One of the best aquarium, I visited. Its my 4th visit with kids, never get bored of it. Great place to educate kids about the sea life. Alot of fun for kids. The tickets are abit expensive. Need to be booked ahead online. Vaccination details are checked at the entrance. Best is, no lineups.Stroller friendly indoors. Even after booking in slots, no social distancing done. But, yes, masks are mandatory inside, even for kids. No outside food allowed, but still seen people munching. The Cafe had also limited sitting space. So, better to go outside and enjoy food.

Honestly, one of the best tourist attractions in Toronto. I've been to quite a few aquariums throughout the world and the most impressive one so far is this one (surprisingly). Great photo opportunities, a moving platform where you slowly go through a tunnel to see sharks, sea turtles, etc. Areas to pet sting rays and shrimp... It's a paradise for adults and children alike!

Wow this is a very nice aquarium. There's a ton of fish all over the place in very large tanks. The underwater tunnel experience of being in the aquarium was extremely immersive. Really cool it was like I was with my son scuba diving but I was nice and dry and warm. My son really enjoyed the little indoor playground. I spent probably three hours here which was more than I thought I was going to spend but it was a good time for both of us

A good place to hang out, if you never have been to an aquarium. The glass tunnel is interesting and convenient for visitors as it has a conveyor belt. The descriptions of the displays are also adequate and interacting. However, the ticket prices are high and the fiber glass used is not very eye soothing. No open amphitheater for dolphin or seal dance.

Ripley's Aquarium is a magical place for kids and adults. I had not been since the year that it opened, and reentering this space was incredible. So many interesting and unique looking species, all presented in beautiful, natural environments. It was such an amazing experience. My only downside was that we went on a busy Saturday evening, so there were many people and it at times took a bit of patience to get closer for a better view, but the time spent there was enough to make up for it. Obviously a highly popular attraction for tourists and locals alike, so if you're not going mid-day mid-week, expect other people to be there, but just be patient and enjoy the time. Notable highlights: Dangerous Lagoon (sharks) and the jellyfish wall. Have fun!

Super cool place!! Would recommend for all ages! Was thoroughly entertained by the the underwater tunnel. Was told it was small by locals, but it’s actually huge! Conveniently located near the CN tower and other tourist landmarks. Purchased a city pass and this was included with it, excellent value. 10/10 would visit again.

First time to Ripley's and it's an amazing place, the fish tanks and set ups were very realistic. I was equally impressed with the maintenance of the Aquarium the fish tanks were crystal clear with a multitude of fish to look at with neat tunnels and submerged submarines for the kids to explore. Down side for me was it was very crowded and sometimes had to get as close as you might like and the information slides with the writing changes too fast for me. I couldn't read most of info. All in all it is definitely worth a visit!

Really cool you can pet some stingray and shrimps, patients is key but worth it! Couldn’t believe how MASSIVE the sharks are, incredible ! 🦈 The conveyor belt under the tank was a nice touch, makes taking pictures easier Jelly fish display i could live there Memorizing 😍

We availed their services which was prompt and polite. Thanks to them too. Enjoy your visit preferably on weekdays even though weekend’s if crowded is well managed y their time slot system.

Awesome Aquarium with great displays and sea life. Lots to see and do, easily spend 2-3 hours at this Aquarium. Great location as well. Kids playground is nice for young ones to burn off energy and it's right by cafeteria with many options. Just a bit too busy, feel like your jammed in there like sardines. Still, highly recommend, especially with young kids!

Awesome experience!! The facility is well taken care of, the sections are well structured and orderly, perfect organisation, so much details in replication and much more... Absolutely fantastic and worth every penny! Highlights for my family included the tunnel under the aquarium and petting sting rays at Sting Ray Bay. We have been to many similar exhibits at other aquariums and zoos. Ripley's does a great job. We also were shocked by how good the soft pretzels are in the café. They are restaurant quality. We can't wait to go back.

I went for the first time with the camp I help out with. It was an okay experience. It's better to go earlier because it'll always be full of people but earlier just a little less people. I enjoyed different types of new underwater creatures, however it's way too packed to enjoy. Especially in that little like fish tunnel, too many people get on and start squishing with you and push, you don't get to enjoy or see. It's always a little of people standing in front so you can't see nor take pictures properly. It's dark which is normal and okay. I feel there should be more organization in the aquarium especially the more liked areas. Or for example if kids go, it should be just a bunch of camps going all at once without other people so that we don't bother them with so many children. And vice versa

  • 4/5 Jo A. 8 months ago on Google
Second time here, it was a blast as always, even though it was packed, children always enjoy coming here, so many things to do, there’s a play area as well as a mini food court area to sit and eat lunch. Lots of photo op locations as well. Bathrooms were well maintained. Across the street is the Toronto railway museum, if you have kids that are into that, which is free to walk around and look at the trains, on the right is the CN tower as well. So lots to do here.

  • 4/5 Patricia C. 7 months ago on Google
Very crowded but we really enjoyed the tunnel and seeing the sharks, stingrays & turles, groups of fish swam over our head ls was really cool! Was hoping to see more jellyfish. The displays for jellyfish did not allow pictures to pop on camera. I also liked the seahorses and sea dragons. It is fun for children to explore. Takes about an hour to finish seeing everything unless you want to read all the info on the displays. When you purchase tickets you have to reserve a block of time to enter.

My husband and I brought there our 3&5 y.o boys. All of us enjoyed the visit. Kids liked the aquariums, playgrounds and other interactive activities. My husband and I were mesmerized by the creates and the path under water. This place is a must to visit for a whole family. One thing to mention: be ready that the place is PACKED. We had to join a line even we arrived at 9.10 am. Also, before that we spent sometime to find parking which is not available on a site. It is a great idea to purchase tickets in advance. No need to print them. Just have your phone ready and click on a link receied after the payment got processed. Another tip: out kids got wet while playing at the water table. Hence, spare clothing might be needed.

It's an amazing experience if it's your first time here. There's plenty of marine life to see and lots of information to learn. The best part was the moving walkway where you'll experience the best part of the aquarium. There's even an interactive section for you to pet the starfish. Expect huge crowds of people and children everywhere so best to book your tickets online.

We embarked on a mid-week visit to Ripley's Aquarium accompanied by our family of five. Arriving around 11am, we were greeted by a bustling atmosphere that was almost overwhelming during the initial two to three exhibits. However, as we continued our journey, the crowd dispersed slightly, affording us a better opportunity to appreciate a diverse array of aquatic creatures. Opting for the moving conveyor belt experience, we were able to enjoy the exhibits with a bit more breathing room, creating a pleasant separation from fellow guests. The mesmerizing jellyfish were showcased in a captivating tanked section, complemented by an abundance of starfish, sharks, and stingrays. Towards the end, the touch tanks were a bit cramped and heavily populated. Regrettably, many visitors bypassed the final tanks due to the congestion and occasional pushiness. Nevertheless, the aquarium offered a splendid assortment of fish species that were a delight to behold. The premises and facilities, including the restrooms, maintained a tidy appearance. It is worth noting, however, that the hand sanitizer stations were found to be empty, which was a minor inconvenience.

We went at night. It's a lot better than the atmosphere. And there are a lot fewer people in the daytime. It's insane the number of people that go there. But at night it is just beautiful. All the lights, it was lit up perfectly. It was really beautiful. And the fish didn't see me trapped or treated in some kind of cruel manner. It was very. Large the tanks they We're in. There were sharks. There were stingrays there were jellyfish there were. Every kind of fish, you can even see a few larger tortoises 🐢.

Took a group of 9, bought my tickets online beforehand (was very easy). Got in with no waiting. Aquarium is go at your own speed. Everyone enjoyed the experience and everything to see, especially interacting with the stingrays. Had lunch at the Aquariums Cafe, minimal selection, but food was good and portions we good.

Amazing!! The fish look in good status (which is something I always take care of about aquariums). There are thousands of them, different species, some are separated obviously, and some others are together making a beautiful ecosystem. My teenager son had a blast. I highly recommend it. By the way, the gift shop is dangerously well sorted and expensive, almost impossible to spend less money than the entrance cost.

I went on a weekday during school and the crowds were manageable and quite sparse. It was easy to see each exhibit without feeling overcrowded. I found you could go through in less than 1.5 hours, I ended up going through twice. I recognize that this place is probably expensive to run but found admission to be high for that short amount of time. This place is great with a stroller because there are ramps throughout with no stairs.

Been here multiple times over the years. Pretty good for an aquarium which is not close to the ocean. On the smaller side but definitely more than enough to entertain toddlers for a couple of hours. Kids loved the huge sea turtle, sharks and the jelly fish. Stroller friendly and right by the cn tower and Rogers center.

An amazing place and must visit in Toronto Downtown, next to the famous CN Tower. No matter what age one is, this aquarium is an absolute delight. Extremely well maintained and managed place, very courteous and helpful staff. It's just that people around should behave properly and keep the place clean, especially the small food cafeteria. I enjoyed to the core by viewing the various species of aquatic animals, and quite a few most of us don't know. If planning to visit during the summer or during public holidays, better to buy tickets prior and avoid waiting in the long queue. You can take pictures and videos inside the aquarium, as there are no restrictions. Just loved the dancing Jelly Fishes, that was the highlight for me, in the entire aquarium. Superb lighting in the background, that makes it more magical to see so many jelly fishes moving around. Overall, an absolute delight. Will visit again for sure...

Great place, especially for kids. But don’t under estimate how much you will enjoy it. The tunnel is the start of the show with sea turtles and sharks and a crazy amount of life. Spent about 2 hrs here but if you wanted to read everything you could spend more.

Fully enjoyable experience. My first time there and I was definitely not disappointed. Fair price point and you can stay in as long as you want to fully experience the place. I'd say if you are an adult with no kids then go in the evening less kids and tourists.

Unforgettable experience with underwater life! I wouldn't expect such beautiful expositions of hundreds of species in one place. Take your time and explore as much as possible! Great place for couples as well as for families.

It's a super fun place if you're into Aquatic things, also fun for dates! The staff are super nice and very welcoming! Cost of the ticket is a bit steep though and the exploration feels a bit short.

Such an amazing place and experience. Spent there almost two hours without noticing. There's also a parking lot accessible 24 hours, a few minutes walk from the aquarium. The place was much bigger than I expected, the facility and the wildlife were fascinating and taken care of well.

Absolutely stunning display of marine life! The only nagging undercurrent (pardon the pun) of my experience was a prodding concern that the creatures were happy and had enough room to roam... perhaps my own paranoia, and the facility took great care in disclosing the many water cycling features on site. Just gorgeous and many species to admire. ♡

Booked the 'Sharks after dark' tickets and was not disappointed. Although there were a number families with young children there, I imagine it would be much busier with families during the day. The whole aquarium took on a mysterious and ethereal atmosphere with the night lighting. The moving platform was a surprise and most enjoyable. If you can visit this place after dark, take that opportunity. Loved it!

Not my first time here, but was here chaperoning a class trip. The aquarium isn’t that huge (it’s a big loop that you can speed run through in ~10-15 min if you really wanted to) but it is packed with things to see! The reefs, the setups, the turtles and sharks and jellyfish are all so beautiful and I highly recommend you taking the time to really take in all the serenity of ocean life. Don’t miss the opportunity to touch some of the stingrays or to attend one of the dive shows!

A pricey aquarium but it's to be expected. The highlight is definitely the tunnel, surrounded by sea creatures of all types. Lots of informative screens, however you're not given much time to read them before it cycles to the next bit of info. I'd prefer it if the animals were labelled on plaques throughout instead.

Interesting for 1 time visit. The good side is that there are plenty entertaining things for kids, so i believe if you are with kids they will love it. Entrance fee is 44CAD, child 3-5 12.5 CAD child 6-13 28 CAD. For me the most impressive part was and i really mean it was the aquarium tunnel, 100 meters long. Check the videos.

Went on a Sunday, did not purchase tickets in advance. The counter is absolutely empty and you can buy tickets on the spot. Nice place to take the kids to see the underwater world. A bit pricey, but you can stay as long as you wish.

This place offers a wonderful atmosphere for families with children. The underground tunnel is impressive with its view and filled with various marine creatures. We spent about an hour there and enjoyed this moment.
