The Toronto sign is an iconic landmark located in Nathan Phillips Square, which is situated in front of Toronto City Hall. The sign consists of the word "TORONTO" in large, illuminated letters, making it a popular spot for tourists and locals to take photos and capture the city's spirit. Here are some reasons why i appreciate the Toronto sign: Iconic Symbol: The sign has become a symbol of Toronto and is instantly recognizable. It represents the city's vibrant culture, diversity, and sense of community. Photogenic: The sign's large, bold letters make for an excellent backdrop for photographs, especially during the evening when it is beautifully lit. It has become a popular spot for selfies and group photos. Location: The Toronto sign is strategically placed in Nathan Phillips Square, a central and bustling public square in downtown Toronto. It's surrounded by City Hall, reflecting pools, and other notable landmarks, making it an attractive area to explore. Festive Decorations: Throughout the year, the sign is often adorned with seasonal decorations, such as lights during the holiday season or rainbow colors during Pride Month. These decorations add an extra touch of excitement and festivity to the sign. Community Engagement: The Toronto sign has also become a gathering point for celebrations, events, and demonstrations. It has witnessed countless memorable moments, fostering a sense of community and pride among Torontonians.

Loved the experience. It was very busy and bustling with summer vibes and events. The hot dog stands are a must! So amazing! I really loved the vibe! Of course there was a crazy person who jumped in the pond with speakers and seeing the security trying to get him out was so funny! And the birds are a menace. Feed them at your own peril 😂

The Toronto sign at Nathan Phillips Square is an iconic landmark and an absolute must-visit destination when touring Toronto. Situated in the heart of the city, this sign is not just a symbol of Toronto's vibrant spirit but also a beacon for visitors and locals alike looking for the perfect backdrop to capture their moments in the city. The sign itself is very easy to spot, towering with its bold letters that spell out TORONTO, making it incredibly photogenic. Its location is thoughtfully chosen, sitting near the ice rink during the winter months, which adds a magical, wintry charm to your photos. In the summer, the transformation of the space with the pond in the foreground offers a refreshing and lively scene, perfect for those sunny day snapshots. What makes the Toronto sign stand out even more is its ability to glow in different colours at night, providing a stunning visual spectacle. During the day, the sign is a crisp white, serving as a bright contrast to the bustling square and city life around it. But as the sun sets, the sign comes alive with vibrant hues, allowing for a variety of looks depending on what type of photo you're aiming to capture. Whether you're looking for a bright, daylight shot or a mesmerizing, colourful glow at night, the Toronto sign delivers. The versatility of the sign, coupled with the dynamic backdrop of Nathan Phillips Square, makes it a photographer's dream. It's a place where you can capture the essence of Toronto through your lens, reflecting the energy and diversity of the city. Whether you're a tourist trying to capture memories of your visit or a local looking to explore the city's landmarks, the Toronto sign is a spot you wouldn't want to miss. It embodies the welcoming and inclusive nature of Toronto, making every photo taken here a cherished keepsake.

An outdoors ice rink mask or no mask it is all good keep your distance enjoy the music skate to the beat. ⛸Renting is available the line up to rent is ok in the mornings, but too busy in the Evenings better have your own skates or watch the surrounding buildings as you wait , chat, and the action on the rink is fun to watch.

Loved this place!! There is a stage at the back of the 3D sign where some cultural dance/singing performance happens during weekends. There are benches to sit and explore the beauty of the place. We enjoyed a lot. Recommend going during evening hours.

I have been here a few times now during my visits to Toronto. The Toronto Sign is a great attraction to visit for anyone. It is located in the middle of a fairly large pond at Nathan Philips Square in downtown Toronto. The Toronto sight is a very popular spot for people to hang out relax take photos and selfless. At night the Toronto Sign lights up and reflects on the water of the pond. The sign is also surrounded by a fountain that is lit up at night as well as an arch. On my last visit here it was busy with many people around but not uncomfortable. I always enjoy this spot when I visit here.

It’s a something and nothing really other than some big cool letters spelling out Toronto by some water and seating but it’s still one of those places that you just have to stop by. Take in the views, take in the atmosphere, take in an ice cream or whatever and just enjoy being there. Awesome.

This sign is much better than the old sign and it's really intricate in detail. It's also a nice place just to sit around but just be aware they're often are a lot of homeless and mentally ill people hanging about. I met two of them while visiting the washroom. My other half met one in her washroom.

A staple in Toronto, the sign is a great attraction to visit and take pictures of. During the day, its not very busy and you can sit back and relax. Although it does get busy on weekends and nights, it is still great to visit!

Huge sign but not really the best for pictures. It makes an incredible backdrop for the ice-skating rand to just look at the city. If you don’t intend to go skating, there’s really nothing to do in this area except for take pictures of the side. So we save this moment for right before we headed to the airport! You cannot park on the street so we parked in the garage connected. It only cost us a few dollars since we spent about 20 minutes taking pictures.

A super popular meeting place for groups, it's one of the most famous tourist spot in the entire city. Many of the meet up groups have neon lights as a theme so it's even better at night! Check Facebook for the "Neon Riders", "Toronto E-Riders" and the "Mississauga E-Riders". These groups will change your mind how best to meet new people with common interests! Best people you will ever meet!

It's always lovely to visit Nathan Phillips Square. There's always some type of art display or activity or event that goes about and you can eat, enjoy and have fun with your friends! It's one of the best views in the city. Being very close to eaton centre and fast food places, you can go and sit there and enjoy the serenity vs hustle bustle of the city. There's also a place where you can play chess with strangers and make friends!!! It's all things fun, and a must visit.

It’s beautiful !!! Not too crowded I honestly expected more people. But you can skate here and get rentals. They have a little shack for food but it’s mostly fast food. No hot chocolate - at least we didn’t see it. They have a cool walkway that goes from the Sheraton hotel across the street all the way around the rink

Its free to visit and a worth place to take great pictures if you are visiting Toronto. Underground parking is humongous and the view is exceptional. There are events going on and water fountain is great. Night view is amazing. Over all highly recommended to stop by washrooms are available but may need to walk a lot. Also try street food trucks as we tried a hot dog and it was delicious for a cheap price. Transit access is great. Follow for more.

TORONTO sign at Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto One of the best place to visit and to capture beautiful photographs. This picture is from my winter visit of the Nathan Phillips Square. Its really hard to enjoy ice skating during the festivals and events because of high rush of individuals during those days. Overall very good experience. 😍🎉💯

Overall, the Nathan Phillips Square Toronto Sign is a fun and free activity for tourists visiting Toronto. If you're looking for a great spot to take photos, this is definitely worth checking out. However, if you're looking for something more to do, you may want to consider other attractions.

Pretty crowded, which is usual for tourist attractions. Would like to see it at night as well since it lites up when dark. Big plus is a portable toilets and the platform all around the square that allows to see the sign from top.

Toronto Downtown, Canada's vibrant metropolis, seamlessly blends modernity with cultural diversity. The iconic CN Tower pierces the skyline, offering panoramic views of Lake Ontario. Its diverse neighborhoods, like Kensington Market and Queen Street West, showcase eclectic shops and eateries. Toronto is a dynamic hub where arts, business, and multiculturalism converge.

Was cool to see but so many homeless in the area trashing the little square many lights were burnt out in the sign that changed colors. But a neat experience I guess. I'd love to see the water lit up at night too!

  • 5/5 Daisy A. 4 months ago on Google • 11 reviews
I'm wondering when will be the cavalcade of lights be TOTALLY open...yes the skating rink is open. Renting skates is always a long line up, better bring your own ..the center area with lighted Arches (?), each one is barred with rails and signs do not enter...there are some with structures but without light.. .Will the Santa sleigh be there?

Amazing place at the heart of Nathan Philips Square. Designed in 2015 to promote and hosted Pan - American games. Since then it has been hot spot tourist attraction site. The 3D sign lits up 24x7 round the year. Along with the TORONTO 3D sign, Ice Skating ring is another famous tourist attraction site, ideally for kids at Nathan Philips Square. Any time you go is always busy clicking photo with iconic TORONTO 3D sign.

It is Toronto's 🇨🇦 go to place for Instagram photos. It's 🆓 to visit. Take lots of pictures, it's really buzzing with fellow tourist and locals alike. During winter month they turn the water pool into a curated/ ticketed icerink. Word of caution: Beware of shady looking people, best way to handle them is to avoid eye contact and they will move on. Water in the center pool stinks 🤮 , if you have sensitive 👃, avoid sitting on the benches next to it. Occasionally, this area serves as the meeting point for protesters, so don't be surprised ,and be respectful. Bonus: visit the old city hall just across the street for good photo opportunity.

  • 4/5 Wai01 2 years ago on Google

Very iconic Toronto sign with lit-up letters that change depending on the theme, celebration or commemoration. Stationed at City Hall, near the fountain/ice rink (in winter), this sign is very popular among tourists and makes for a great meet up landmark. Really pretty at all times of the day, and great to stand in front (or climb) for photos to capture the City Hall building behind it. Tip: Closest intersection would be Bay St and Queen St (Queen Subway Station South Side, not Eaton Centre North exit). Also stop by the CN Town for the Canada Sign for your photographs too.

A must go in Toronto, middle of the city with lots of skyscrapers surrounding. The Toronto sign is the main attraction here if you're visiting as a tourist. There is a good sized ice skating ring, ice skate rentals are available, however in the weekends this place does get a bit busy. The vibe at night is different from the morning time. If you're taking a subway, you could exit on Queen's exit.

  • 4/5 April C. 2 years ago on Google
The Toronto sign is a great photo op, especially for visitors to the city, but sometimes it can be hard to get a shot without others in the photo. While there are things like skating and holiday lights in the winter and occasional events year-round at Nathan Phillips Square, there generally isn't a ton to do there, so tourists should plan for other activities (shopping at Eaton Centre nearby or other sightseeing spots around the city).

  • 5/5 Hitesh P. 2 years ago on Google

Iconic sign. Must visit when you are in Downtown Toronto. Very big space overlooking the Mayor's office building and other building all over. Building pond in middle. There was a Asian ceremony of paper lantern going in when we visited. Perfect place to hang out with family and friends and to conduct small public events. Just one star less for trash all over and it was stinking.

Such a fun spot!! Went I went, there was the Toronto Dragon Festival, so it was rather crowded. There is a nice elevated walking space with easy access points which provided a lovely spot to see the sign, take pictures, and enjoy the festival from a far. Also a great spot to see the old capitol building. Not too crowded for taking pictures and there are benches for sitting and enjoying the plaza.

It spells the city's name. It is 3 metres (9.8 ft) tall and 22 metres (72 ft) long prior to the addition of the maple leaf and the medicine wheel, lit by LED lights controlled via WiFi that can create an estimated 228 million colour combinations, approximately equal to what the human eye can sense. Originally it installed for the 2015 Pan American games as a temporary attraction meant to be dismantled in November 2016 at the earliest, the city of Toronto decided to continue to operate the sign after it became popular with tourists and residents.

A little crowded in the evenings but a beautiful spot to walk around and take some fresh air. You can take beautiful picture here and there are food trucks around too.

You need to use transit or walk to this place because of the high traffic. It was a nice view and Toronto Eaton mall is 5 mins away. We enjoyed the walk there
