This was a great experience... very cool castle estate. Gardens were cool. Historical write-ups for the rooms, a horse stable, antique car museum, and a Back Stage Celebrities walk, which has little scenes with (wax?) statues and clips playing for all of the movies that were recorded at the castle. Loved it! I wasn't quite as excited about the 3rd floor, but if you are into military history, you would love it. Getting up to the tower was awesome, too.

A visual treat with the whole palace decorated band lit up for Christmas. A variety of talented artists have decorated the rooms. The whole walk around the Casa Loma palace will take a good three hours if you want to see everything in detail and climb up to the towers. The pathway to stables was illuminated well and the video displays on the walls were delightful especially of the Gingerbread men. There was a magic show on the gardens. A truly enjoyable experience.

More than the castle and its architecture, I enjoyed the history of the castle presented in a documentary movie in the basement. So, be sure to check that out which is included in your ticket. Another perk is that you get audio guide devices which were very cool. The ones that we got did not have headphones so you had to hold them like you are speaking on the phone, but I saw some other people with devices having headphones. The most enjoyable part of the experience was that there are 2 towers that you had to climb very narrow stairs to reach the top. They were decorated and designed for escape room game purposes which was fun to see. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

Saw this was one of the top attractions on Google but I had no idea on the history of this place. So I went to find out. Came here by public transportation and got tickets with the audio guide. I soon saw that this was a mansion for a prominent financier. Cool to see this is a museum now and overlooks Toronto.

Truly a beautiful space! It's a Gothic Revival style mansion and house museum with beautiful grounds during the summer. I can imagine weddings at this place! To get to the highest levels you have to take some very narrow stairs and if you are able to, it's totally worth going to the top. You will see amazing views of the surrounding areas! Can't wait to return here someday when things are back to normal, or as close to normal as possible!

Beautiful castle. Rich history, beautiful architecture and a wonderful fountain with gardens. Beautiful interior, really nice rooms. You need to climb the spiral stairs to the tower, from there you have a wonderful view of the city. Take some time to visit this castle, we spent for sure four-five hours here. The carriage museum was also very nice, and this one is reached through the tunnel, which runs 18ft below Austin Terrace. Through the tunnel you can see "tunnel experience" - Toronto the dark side (the depression, the Plague, Toronto Great Fire, Toronto first plane crash...). Very interesting. In Casa Loma you have also restaurant. We really enjoyed here.

Genuinely appreciated spending a few hours here exploring yesteryear. I cannot fathom living in a house of this size for 10 years. The visit is totally worth the ticket cost. We got an Uber to drop us off as we didn’t want to deal with city driving and parking. Definitely worth it. The house is massive so the so many areas to explore. The Christmas decorations and shows make it even more magical.

Where do I start?!? Honestly I can't say enough good things about Casa Loma!! It's crazy that even some people that have live in Toronto don't even know this place exists!!! There is literally so much to see and do here that you need the better part of a day to take it all in!!! On top of everything to see and do there is also an amazing restaurant here which is open even in our current stage 2 status!! I was lucky enough to visit on Halloween 🎃 but I have been here before and it's always a good time regardless if you are on a date or bringing your family!! I hope you enjoy the pics I took, I did my best to capture the experience!! Kudos to amazing staff at Casa Loma and keep up the great work 🙏🥂

Its a Treasure lasting for centuries. The luxuries inside the castle still looks luxurious for today’s standards. There are so many timeless arts and crafts inside the building. We can get audio guide so make sure to take your headphones if your are interested in that. If you are with kids please take care of them not to touch or play with the properties as they have to withstand many more years.

Have only been inside the castle a couple of times but have never done the full museum tour. Once I was there for an event and the second time was for a haunted Halloween tour. because I live nearby, I like walking by the castle from time to time and just enjoy looking at the architecture. Every time I'm blown away by how beautiful the place is and it is a photographer's playground (amateur or professional) Definitely a recommended stopping point for new visitors to the city and residents alike. 😁👌🏼

Must see for anyone visiting Toronto. This castle has the most beautifully designed rooms and architecture. There's an audio tour device available in the basement gift shop, and it guides you on a self-paced tour of each room. The audio added depth and dimension to each room by sharing the stories of the original occupants. The price of entry is $30 CAD, or $23.50 USD. I would recommend a good part of the afternoon to spend here, especially if you like to take your time to tour each part of the castle.

We visited as part of the City Pass on a Sunday in April. It was not too busy, and lots of things to look at - we were there for more than 3 hours! A lot of reading to really get the most out of the exhibits, but they do offer handheld audio tours for no charge. Such a beautiful place, we want to come back when the garden is in full bloom!

Holiday Lights at Casa Loma was beautiful! Admittedly probably not the best value for money, as tickets were pretty expensive at $50 each, it was still a great experience for two people who had never been to Casa Loma before. Pretty funny to see some of the decorations from Halloween that were repurposed for Christmas. Also some nice magic shows and staff running around in costumes which was cute. Google won't let me post photos or videos, probably as to not spoil, but it was really beautiful and fun!

Lovely place!! 🥰 Had gone on halloween and they had decorated it so well. It was like stepping into a time machine. Very opulent. Cant imagine such luxury but it was nice to see it in person. Word of advice, wear comfy shoes you have a lot of the castle to cover!! Was able to check the haunted walk within the castle which exits across the street. Well done with the production!!! Definitely will revisit when it’s warm. Hear they have a winter festival thing too, might revisit. ❤️

This was our first visit to this attraction we tried to make a day out of it and were fairly successful. The weather really prevented us from touring the grounds though. I would say it takes around 4-5 hours to explore the entire place. We really enjoyed touring, going up to the towers (spiral staircases!!!!), and enjoying a bite to eat in the cafe. A must do is to watch the film in the basement theatre which sits in what would have been the swimming pool. There could have been more placards with more information. The third flour exhibit might not be for everyone but it was interesting. I would not recommend bringing children, just doesn’t seem suited for them when everything says “don’t touch or sit”. The staff were not that plentiful and the ones we spoke to were polite albeit not very interactive, as if this was just a “job” to them. The friendliest person was the cafe host. The food was excellent! Overall a good experience but an attraction that could be next level with some more attention to the end experience.

This castle is grand and beautiful. Amazing work of architecture and a must see in Toronto. There is a lot to see here so give yourself at least half a day to see it. The exhibits are very interesting. There are two towers in the castle which you have to climb up a steep spiral staircase to access but once you get there you’ll have a great view of the Toronto skyline and the castle. There is also a garden in the back which is also worth checking out too. Highly recommend this place if you are into the history and architecture. Definitely worth the ticket price.

This castle is an amazing historical place and it is kid friendly. It is an iconic place in Canadian history. The castle is dated a couple of centuries back and it showcases the dwelling of the wealthy in the olden days. The inside has beautiful displays / exhibits of historic events all throughout the castle. It is massive in size and beauty. The castle also contains some other fun activities like a haunted house, a celebrity wax display, and even an escape game. The basement has movie posters for movies / shows then castle has been featured in, and even has a screen showing the scenes and rooms they’re using in the media. There is a very cool underground tunnel that spans approximately 800 feet that goes out to the stables which is fun to walk through. The outdoor area closes at 3PM, so try to go out to see the garden and view. Parking is available onsite for $15. If you are a lover of history and also are a fan of beauty and architecture this a wanderlust of a site to visit.

One of real castles built and still in good shape in north America. I absolutely loved the visit. Did not do the audio tour as I wanted to do the visit quickly. The parking was paid and decent. It was well worth the visit.

Casa Loma in Toronto offers a captivating experience beyond its ornate rooms. Exploring the tunnels and towers adds a new dimension to the visit. The unexpected discoveries, including the World War I/II museums on the top floor, make it a truly enriching castle exploration. I highly recommend visiting Casa Loma and, for an extra thrill, trying an escape room adventure. The castle's intriguing atmosphere adds a unique touch to the experience, making it a must-visit for both history enthusiasts and adventure seekers.

This was a lot more fun to explore than I expected! I spent about 1.5 hours here but was in a hurry, I could have used an extra hour. It contained a military exhibit as the castle was utilized as a manufacturing station during WWII. There was a small wax museum, and antique car museum in the garage. The bathrooms in the basement are also really nice.

A very interesting villa, like an European castle. There is an audio guide in several languages that you can easily use and listen to on your own cell phone. If you want to see all the rooms and hear all descriptions, you would have to plan many hours (around 3-4 hours). The rooms are beautifully designed and let you dream. Wonderful view from the Towers and Terrace.

A luxurious castle that is a must visit. Perfectly preserved interiors of bedrooms, offices, children's rooms and restrooms. Museum of Intelligence and Military History. Collection of antique cars. The Wax Museum. If you're lucky enough to visit the castle during the Christmas holidays, you'll be treated to a journey to Santa through the underground tunnels. I recommend!

Very nice place. A must visit in Toronto. Great castle near city center. Maintained very well. Old historic building and interior. There's a magnificent fountain at the backyard of the castle. Lighting and other historical things are great to watch and feel. Lots to learn and to take pictures. We visited in 2015. A unique experience indeed. Thanks.

Casa Loma is so amazing all year round but this time of year in the fall it looks all that much better with a fall colors. Perfect time to visit and walk around. The grounds are amazing and it's quiet, nice excuse to get out of the city but still be in the city.

Beautiful mansion located in the city. Loved the architecture. The decorations are amazing. There is a tunnel connecting mansion with stables. You can see vintage car collection, wine cellar, suites with beautiful furnitures and chandeliers, alleys with paintings. The third floor is like a museum and connects to the towers. The view of Toronto from Norman tower is amazing. There is a beautiful fountain on backyard with secret garden. You can find cafe, gift shop and tunnel in basement and every hour a movie is played showcasing the history of Casa Loma. Good for photoshoots and to plan wedding. Masks are mandatory now. You can book tickets online or through the counter even use Citypass.

This is an amazing historical location. The view from the top of the castle is great. The gardens are very nice with a fountain. There is also one of the first modern style plumbing systems which have been maintained very well. The architecture is very decorative with nice chandeliers and stained glass ceiling. Some vintage cars were also on display.

NUTCRACKER @ CASA LOMA: so what do you expect to see? Perhaps the nutcracker play or a choir? That's more likely, right? That was what I expected therefore got the tickets but guess what? It was rather a "nutcracker THEMED fair", so the place and staff is nutcracky and they have some little shows that you won't see neither, especially your little ones because the halls are too small and the crowd just too big. The ads and advertising is completely (and perhaps purposely) misleading for you to believe it's a show; absolutely nothing explains it a THEMED event instead of the play famously known as the Nutcracker. If I knew that, I would have dismissed it and look for tickets for a real show of the nutcracker either as a ballet dance, play, choir, puppets show, etc. For someone wanting to visit Casa Loma, this could be an excellent chance to do it getting the plus of the ornaments and mood, big bonus!! But for someone wanting the nutcracker show this was a complete RIP OFF. The staff tried hard to make the mini shows palatable, especially for the kids that can not see a thing by the human wall of people between them and the "stage" but despite their best effort can not make up for the fraud. Now I know better. BUYERS BEWARE!

Takes you back in history. Must visit castle during your trip to Toronto. Some of the best city views from the castle. Also have great spots for photography. Sadly didn't had enough time but will visit next time for sure. They were preparing for halloween, it's going to be interesting. Suggestion: get a city tour pass online and visit zoo, museum, castle for better price.

Great day trip! Loved learning about the history of this place and seeing its beautiful rooms and exterior. Being a wedding photographer I imagine this is great venue for weddings too. Being a vegetarian the available food options were a bit disappointing though. Knowing that we spend almost an entire day there, you can imagine we didn’t really want to leave the premises for lunch.

Very interesting site to see. The terrace view is wonderful, and if you timed it right with a sunset, if allowed, would be absolutely stunning to get. The Christmas setup was done very well, and even with covid, it was still comfortable to experience. When you go through the tunnel and end up in the stables. Just mind blowing just how far you walked, to see the castle so far away. The parking for $15 is honestly way too much, that should be lowered to $7-10, and should be free for handicap parking. This is great for a school field trip experience.

Had a lovely afternoon high tea. Servers were very attentive and helpful with my Grandmother who required some accommodations. Dining room was well appointed with a lovely backdrop of live classical violin. Slightly loud, however that speaks to its popularity. Appreciated the passes to explore the castle/exhibits included with the cost of dining. Will certainly return to experience some of the other events/restaurants - namely the Italian restaurant which looks positively beautiful!

We had a wonderful experience there. Honestly we didn't had any idea about the history of the castle before you decided to visit Casa Loma. The history was fascinating. Enjoyed the rooms, garden, third floor military section, the towers, long tunnel and the garage. Was unsure about the parking so took public transport. But figured out they have plenty of parking spot. Staffs were nice and happy to share the history of the castle.

Went there today as we'd heard a lot about the place since coming to Toronto. We had a CityPass so it was included on the list of attractions. Based on the pictures online and the reviews, we were very excited to visit. We reached around 10AM and it was not very crowded. Started the tour and the found that the entry process was very simple. No long queues. They have organized the place very well and the guide pamphlet is very easy to follow. There are placards placed near each room which explain the room features like its purpose and a bit of history. The place was kept very clean and it was a nice experience to see the different items on display. But for the price they charge, they have not done a great job in the upkeep. Some of the doors were creaky and the paint etc. was coming off. They could easily do a better job in keeping the place in better shape given it's importance in Toronto's history.

Went here yesterday, and it was amazing. I loved everything about this castle. There was so much to explore and see. Very popular destination for all ages. They offer a interactive map that you can download, and it will guide you through the castle. There's lots of food here too when you get hungry, and even entertainment in the back with plenty of seating. The tunnel was pretty cool. All the history preserved in this castle is amazing, and well taken care of. The rooms are fully furnished, and frozen in time. I'd highly recommend visiting this place with your family, and friends. There's alot of walking, and climbing stairs.

We throughly enjoyed touring the Gothic revival styled Castle. The museum was accessible and informative. Plan for a lot of walking as the house is 200,00 sq. ft. and you want to have enough time and energy to explore the underground tunnel, stables and garden.

We went to Legends of Horror last night for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lots of fun for all and presented exceptionally well done and organized! Hard to describe but suffice to say you won't be bored. Staff was excellent, too. For older people...mind the outside stairs . Many had no handrails and were difficult to climb. Bring a walking stick or cane, especially if you have mobility issues. Definitely not wheel chair friendly...which is unfortunate. Still a great evening

It is a good place to visit on a day off from work. You can spend good 3 hours here if you visit every room and listen to the audio guide. Audio guide is free. Entry fee is a bit more compared to what they have to offer. But the view from the tower is worth it.

We came after the holidays and they still had a lot going on for families. There were live shows, but we didn't watch them. We walked around and looked at the castle. The history if it was what we found really interesting. They have a film and it was definitely worth watching. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.

A great experience to walk around and get a feel of how for lived back then. Beautiful furniture! Definitely go with plenty of energy to walk around. A must do is a climb up to at least one of the towers. Up a spiral staircase to the roof... Takes your breath away... Quite literally on a winter's day 😊. Amazing views of the Toronto skyline 360°!

This castle is so pretty that I would want to have my wedding here if not for the fact I don’t want to deal with having guests travel so far. We are from the US. It is very picturesque but there is not much to see from the inside. We came once ourselves and once with my in-laws. It would’ve been rude not to accompany them inside but we really wished we didn’t have to pay the entry fee again since since we already saw it once before. If you just want to take pictures of the castle the front view is not necessarily worse than the courtyard view and then you don’t have to pay the entry fee. Although it is a little more crowded I can see how that problem can be avoided if you went early enough.

Great beautiful secret gem inside a very busy city ! Worth the visit . Very beautiful rooms and well maintained and the "story" is a wonderful plus. I gave this place 4 stars on 5 for 2 reasons. It was super hot(that's not their fault but a little AC would do wonders specially with the fact that we must wear masks ) as well there was a wedding so we couldn't go out to the garden - would of been nice if this was stated somewhere before going or even paying for parking !!!

If you have only one place to visit in Toronto, then the only choice I think is Casa Loma. It was built by a richest man in Toronto, and you probably will be amazing when you are seeing what you see. By the way, there was many movies were shot in this spot, such as X-man. And this place maintains very well.

I always enjoy my visits to this beautiful and historic Toronto landmark. The most recent being for the Christmas at the Castle event. There were Christmas trees decorated by various artists, light displays, a magic show, stiltwalkers and even pictures with Santa to name a few of the attractions. It made for an overall great family day out for the holiday season.

Bigger than I expected. We spent more time here than what we originally planned because there are a lot to explore. The tunnel leading to a different property caught us by surprise but it was worth the walk! The Princess Diana exhibit was also nice. The kids really enjoyed going up the tower where one of the escape games is held. Definitely worth a visit when going to Toronto. Pro tip: Buy the City Pass tour online so you can bundle the attractions and save $$$

Pros: Architecture is great! Gardens are beautiful. Antique cars are fun to look at. You can take pictures inside. Cons: First floor is all event space and very little period furniture is in place. There is no central air (no surprise given the age of the house), but the temperatures were all over the place, 1st floor hot, second floor moderate, towers were HOT (but there were portable air conditioners in the spaces, they just weren't running), lower level cooler (as expected). The 3rd floor was strange. I think they were trying to incorporate the builder's military history, but they took it too far and the whole floor felt like a war museum. Then you get to the Celebrity Wax Museum. Yes, that's correct, a Celebrity Wax Museum in the 2nd floor of the stable... I couldn't even make that up. It was STRANGE. Unfortunately it will be the thing my husband and I remember most from the visit because of its massive misplacement. Big Con: Princess Diana "stuff" in the main house. I didn't pay extra (other than the increased cost because it was there) to do anything special, but the Princess Diana pics in the main house were a real joke. They were just blown up pictures that are all over Google. Absolutely nothing original or special. Just an eye sore really. If you want to have a tribute to Diana, set aside a room with meaningful pics and some of her personal things. Don't clutter an entire floor with pictures everyone has already seen. Overall, the people running it have their hands in too many pots... pick something and stick to it. Do you want to memorialize the time when the castle was built and in its prime? Do it, all the way. Do you want to be an event venue? Do it, all the way. Do you want to be a war museum? Do it. But for the love, ditch the wax museum.

Picturesque estate with really amazing views. What a wonderful way to pass the time! We recommend that the staff please hand out the guides at the door or on the first floor. Not downstairs. The female staff member handing out the guides Saturday am had a little bit of an attitude down there. 😑 it was her tone with the way she spoke to the patrons. You could tell she was possibly overwhelmed down there. She was better when we dropped the devices off. Other than that, we had an amazing time reading about the history of the house, Canada, exploring each room and the ability to take amazing pictures all over. We actually got lost trying to leave 🤷🏽‍♀️ This is how massive the place is. Would love to try the escape room the next time we come to Toronto with family. Could not imagine living in such a massive home. You must check this massive estate out for sure. Glad we stopped.

This place is amazing and I wish I had gone there in the morning because there is a lot to see. It was included on the City Pass. It comes with a free audio tour that you can listen at your own pace. Every room is special and worth it for the architecture, design, and decoration. The place has been used in movies and TV shows, so you might recognize it. The gardens are beautiful, too, and there is a café if you need sustenance (we didn't make it). I only wish they served high tea here. It's a great location to spend some time absorbing it all while pretending to travel back time. There is a tunnel that connects the main house with the stables. They have about 5 different escape rooms, too. Definitely a place to come back to!

When visiting Toronto don’t miss the opportunity to visit this beautiful castle. The grounds and fountains and gardens are beautiful. So much elegance and history is packed in each room. This castle was really interesting and fun to explore. There are plenty of places to relax and just take in the views. It’s like a museum but more engaging and fun. Apparently they have a Halloween show but my visit was before then. I bet this place looks fabulous decked out for Christmas .

The place was amazing. Last time that I was in here was when I was a child. Everything changed a lot! The guy at the front collecting tickets was super nice! And answered all our questions. Our favorite was getting to climb the stairs all the way to the top floor! We wish the secret garden was open. I heard lots of good things about it. We also loved the celebrity rooms. It keeps on running through my mind on what if Casa loma did an overnight thing where they turn off all the lights and everyone used a flashlight. That will be amazing. Maybe do this for Halloween? We will be back for sure!

Beautiful! Better than expected! I thought it was going to be just "another museum " but once you get to the tunnels it gets more exciting. The towers are impressive, can't imagine the fun people who do the escape games have at this place!

I loved this place. The architecture of this building is absolutely gorgeous. The interior tour was great too. You get to see so many different things and spaces. At times, you feel like you are in Europe. Also, the views of the city from here are amazing. I would recommend going all the way to the top of the building - you won't regret it. - the waiting is long specially if it’s a holiday.

A beautiful historical and hidden gem within Toronto. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing and learning a part of Toronto history. Some parts of the museum are a bit random like the wax museum and escape room. These exhibits take away from the historical feel and nature of the place. Besides that, it is a cool experience and place to visit.

During my recent visit to this place I was captivated by the exterior of the building. The picturesque setting, coupled with its historical charm, made for a visually appealing sight. The house itself exuded a sense of grandeur, with its unique architectural details and well-maintained facade. The surrounding landscape was beautifully manicured However, I regretfully did not have the opportunity to explore the museum's interior and can only provide a review based on the exterior experience.

Wonderful landmark of Canada. This place holds deep roots and heavy history. In many cases the history behind this location shaped a lot of Toronto . The castle is clean and staff is friendly. Highly recommend going through the week as weekends it's very crowded.

It took 45 years but I finally got a chance to visit Casa Loma and it was a great experience. The grounds are beautiful the history so intriguing. Lots to see, so come prepared for a lot of walking. Narrow spiralling staircases up tall towers, long dark tunnels, and uneven terrain in the Secret garden! Overall a good time. A little on the pricey side at $40 plus tax for adults, but worth it for the experience.

The castle was beautiful! The architecture was amazing and the outside gardens are gorgeous. We took a family trip and all 3 teens loved walking through the garden , secret passage ways and going to the top of both towers. The views of the CN Tower are visible from the tower as well as the outside patio by the garden !

Super cool location. Last stop during our Toronto trip, well worth the visit. Didn't realize it was so widely used in movies and TV shows. Definitely get up the towers if you can and make sure to go under the building to see the tunnel and Wax museum.

A beautiful palace reminiscent of places in fairytale lands. The garden is filled with beautiful flowers and trees. A small garden at the back is filled with exciting sculptures and dolls that are perfect for Halloween parties. I did not visit the interior.

A beautiful escape into an experience one is bound to never forget. There are so many rooms and levels filled with intricate and gorgeous details. The castle itself is a beautiful generational architecture with some of the best views of downtown Toronto from above. It's as if you've been transported into an old-timey Hollywood movie castle (X-Men's mansion scenes were all shot here and that was a surreal experience to witness). The Halloween tunnel was also an incredible highlight of fun spooks and scares. The mini car museum was also cool and the wax museum was a really interesting experience. Overall anyone living in Canada or visiting, they should never leave without coming here.

Cool castle a few kilometers away from Toronto. I went with my parents and we spent about 2 and a half hours here. The time flies by as you walk around the gardens, interior rooms, and all the terraces in the high floors. Great views from everywhere especially the top of the castle. There is also a nice wax museum with celebrities that has nothing to do with the castle but is cool nonetheless. The audio tape given helps you understand and learn the history of this place. I highly recommend coming here if you have the time.

Halloween at Casa Loma is an unforgettable experience that combines the elegance of this historic castle with the spine-tingling excitement of the season. From the moment you step onto the castle grounds, you're transported to a world of enchantment and mystery. The elaborate decorations, intricate mazes, and hauntingly beautiful lighting create an atmosphere that's both eerie and enchanting. Every corner of the castle is adorned with incredible attention to detail, making it a photographer's dream come true. The actors and performers bring the experience to life with their talent and dedication, leaving you both entertained and spooked. Intricate, captivating, and just the right amount of spooky, Halloween at Casa Loma is a must-visit event that will leave you enchanted and enthralled. Don't miss this magical and haunting celebration at one of Toronto's most iconic landmarks.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Rivals and even exceeds the mansions I've seen in Boston and Rhode Island. Frankly, Casa Loma was ordered, designed, and built by a bunch of maniacs wedded to a vision of ultimate extravagance. Unfortunately, Henry Pellat could not support his lifestyle for the long term, but I'm sure he would have added to his castle as long as he could. Definitely recommend and you'll be sure to spend two to three hours roaming the floors. Somewhat pricey but well worth it.

To say I felt like a princess walking the halls of Casa Loma is an understatement. It was so beautiful taking everything in at our own pace 🥰 I recommend watching the historical video in the basement before walking the castle because it tells you all you need to know about the history of the castle and the man behind its creation. It was a perfect day trip in Toronto and I’ll definitely be returning in a princess gown for the pictures.

Has a great time. We went during the Holiday lights festival the weekend right after Christmas. Well worth it! Parking can be busy this time of year so if driving down leave an extra 30 minutes to find parking. There is lots of walking involved so pack light if going with kids. It is not stroller friendly. Many stairs and no elevators that I saw were being used. Bring backpacks to pack your jackets in as you may get hot doing all the stairs in a jacket during winter time.

This is a nice mansion. I went here while I was visiting Toronto and was satisfied with my experience. I went on a tour of this mansion, which was pretty nice. It went through every room in the mansion and the grounds outside, where I saw a view of downtown Toronto. The tour also went into the mansion’s wine cellars. The wine cellar is a long, small, damp tunnel, with crates of wines on the side of the tunnel. After I went in the tour, I left the mansion, satisfied with my experience. I gave this mansion five stars because it’s very elegant and very well preserved.

A nice Castle located in city center. When from the window look at the beautiful sunny garden, was enjoyable. Lucky I listened music concert at here. That time students wore traditional clothes played music in the hall. When tender music started, sounds like we back to ancient century. This is a heritage place in Toronto, good to see.

A gorgeous building with a lot of history! We looked up some travel lists on things to do in Toronto and this was on pretty much all of them!! We decided to buy the City Pass, which includes tickets here, as well as, tickets to several other Toronto tourist spots - highly recommend this if you are staying in the area and doing a couple things! The only big downer was the parking lot and attendant. We pulled into the lot and there was no signage that it was full. The attendant was not helpful at all. We asked where else we could park in the area and she basically told us that it was our problem to figure out, maybe try the school area. Okay? Not the best start. When we found parking a few blocks away, it was $10 and we walked on over. Once inside, it was great! The inside was spacious and bright. There were optional (free) audio tour guides, which I would say you should get, cause it really helps bring the house back to life. There was a wedding taking place in the atrium area, which was gorgeous, so clearly this would be a good venue! The bummer about it was that it meant it was off limits for the tour, so we couldn't go in there, but it looked nice. There were multiple floors and plenty to see. They have tons of original items on view for furniture, paintings, books, etc. Made it feel very museum like. Overall: A After a not great parking lot beginning, it was a great tour, and very neat and different from the usual tourist type things.

Recomendo ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is just a great dinner date idea, check out the castle and landscape, then grab a formal casual dinner at the bistro or go all out at the steak house, either way you cant go wrong. When we went, our waiter had a couple mix ups and our meals took longer than expected, after seeing my not so amused face, the waiter gave us free drinks which definitely brought my mood back up and my tip reflected that.

Casa Loma is one of the few things that make Toronto unique to me. This old mansion really takes you back to the 1800s. It's fascinating to see how the wealthy lived back in the day. The grounds are beautiful to walk and we tunnel is amazing. The gardens, classic cars and changing exhibits make it a tourist destination or a local one.

I basically grew up here, from school field trips to first dates and now my wedding! Casa Loma has been the filming location of some of our favorite movies and shows so getting married here was hardly a question! COVID was hard on everyone and everything went off with hardly any bumps but i do still wish the wedding staffs communication was better, we went through 3 different specialists during our planning and had to find out ourselves a week before our big day the whole front of the castle was under construction! Overall the beauty of this venue is unquestionable and im sure well be back someday.

A lot of famous movies were filmed in it. Walking distance to subway. Tower view from top of castle and long secret tunnel which leads to another building is amazing. However, I would recommend the management to place air conditioning or fans in staircase halls of tower because if someone has to wait for their turn on staircase it's difficult because all the windows are shut and there is no ventilation. Overall it's excellent for historical knowledge and artifacts are displayed in good manner, too.

Casa Loma was a beautiful place with so much historic value. The architecture is very classy and baroque style which makes it exquisite. They also have activities for kids like the dragons tunnel and stable. I would suggest to bring a bottle of water during a hot day just because it can get quite humid in some parts of the castle. I'm terms of accessibility they do have an elevator but to get to some rooms would require stairs. Overall an awesome experience.

I was very impressed with my first visit to such a Perl of Toronto's history! Visitors Program is very good organized with guidelines on the special device. So you can enjoy tour on your own speed. I was deeply surprised by priceless collections, their conditions, notes on stands were you can feel what it was collected and saved for us to understand the spirit of that time. One more word for people who work there: Staff is incredibly helpful and pleasant. Exit through underground path will bring you to the stables. That way was decorated as a dragon-game adventure with the music and sound surrounding. Absolutely incredible! Regret that we did not reserve our dinner there after 5pm.

We did the Legends of Horror event as a family, during the family time without actors. My kids (10, 9, 7) LOVED it and wanted to go through again! They were the perfect amount of 'scared' that it was fun. Props were amazing and the line to get in moved fast. I loved it so much I bought tickets to go again with some adults, during the "scary" time :D

We came to Legends of Horror last night for 10:30. What a great experience. I didn’t know what to expect but I was not disappointed. While not terrifying, it was definitely creepy & a ton of fun. They are underselling the lounge! DJ, bar, photo booth - its the closet thing to a club I’ve been to in 2 years and it was fantastic. While they could probably benefit from a few more live actors the ones who were there were great. I’ve never been to Casa Loma before and I’d love to experience more now. Fantastic event and the most normal and fun night out I’ve had in a long time. Thank you!

Castle is okay, but for European person it wasn't life-changing experience. For Canadian - I strongly recommend everything! For me specifically tunnels were THE experience. Beautiful castle ... wished we could have spend more time here as there is much to see. The self guided recordings are great as they provide so much more insight as to what you are seeing. Amazed at how lavish it is, we were impressed as to how modern the bathrooms were (considering the period it was built). Bonus: the tunnel leading to the stables (which was across the street) was all decked out in Christmas decorations and Mr & Mrs Santa Claus was there to greet us. So glad we got the chance to visit.

This castle is a museum that looked better on the outside than inside in my opinion. It cost $30 per person with $15 parking, audio guide is available but we chose to explore ourselves. It was okay I guess; there was some narrow staircases to the towers, some "fancy" suites, some history, a tunnel with music, and some wax figures. We spent an hour and thirty minutes or so there. I would recommend seeing it once, not really a family activity in my opinion.

  • 5/5 Zackary C. 1 year ago on Google
The castle is such a beautiful place to visit! There is so much history behind it and there is still so much beauty to the castle inside and out! I recommend climbing to the top of the castle through the attic because at the top you can have an amazing view of the city and is a great spot to get some photos!

Wonderful experience visiting the castle. Well maintained and decorated. There is a museum inside which have the things from world war, wax museum of celebrity walk, vintage cars. A tunnel/passage which takes you through this section. Thrilling experience going through the escape room series. I would recommend this place for a visit. Takes about 2-3 hrs for a complete tour. There is a restaurant inside the castle which needs to be booked in advance.

We got to see a great concert on the grounds where they played some big band music. I also wandered around the inside of the castle and was able to see everything I wanted to without paying for the tour so I'd recommend that for people who don't need the audio experience. Make sure to climb all the way up the stairs to the attic area and then up the tight metal staircase in the tower to get a gorgeous overlook of the city!

My absolute favorite place in downtown amidst the hustle bustle of city. The place itself is located in a hill that is very peaceful. Do read the history before going to this place. Enjoy the audio tour while uncovering the history behind every room and objects that is really interesting to know. There's lot of space for anyone as the castle is quite huge. No need to worry about the crowd. Don't miss the view from the top of Norman's tower.

  • 5/5 S s. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful architecture. Lovely staff, especially Greg! The displays were very informative. SO many movies filmed here, really cool to see so many parts of the property that you recognize from films. They have a great audio tour you download on t Your phone or you can explore on your own. Even without the audio tour, there is plenty of information shared and QR codes to scan for info about whatever particular item/room you are interested in. The tunnels were decorated for Halloween and it was pretty cool. Also enjoyed the backstage display of some of the most famous actors/scenes filmed there. The climb up the towers was well worth it, especially the views from the top of the Norman Tower. There is a lot of walking and a LOT of steps, so difficult for someone who has any issues with walking/stair climbing. They have a gift shop, cafe, and restrooms available.

Amazing experience. A must visit for sure. Went on the long weekend when it was pretty touristy. Climb up to the viewpoint and the tunnels. It's quite interesting. There are so many interesting objects, collectibles, and things to see. It is very elegant and every room has its own charm.

Gothic style mansion built as a personal residence. It is maintained by the City of Toronto now, as a historic house museum and city's landmark. Place can be rented for meetings, weddings, events, and parties. They have restaurants at the main level. The views of the city from the terrace is amazing. I would say the admission fee is expensive for this one. Perfect for pictures from outside.

This place was awesome. The size, the beauty, architecture, and the history. I had never heard of casa loma before and they did a fantastic job with displaying the history of it. From it being built over a hundred years ago to modern day where it has been used in numerous films. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting to take a tour.

Such a beautiful place! There are 4 floors that you can visit. Additionally, you can climb to the tower, but it was closed dues to the rain when we arrived. Also, there is a beautiful garden in the back.

What an absolutely amazing experience! An immersion into the Renaissance and Gothic period - full of exciting culture and history. I remain in awe of the beautiful art in every iota of this castle. You must visit it! There is no air conditioning or heating except maybe in the gift shop, but we took breaks for fresh air, either in the garden or at the front where we purchased gelato to cool down. There is also a lovely cafe within that opens from 11:30AM to 4:00PM where we had a drink and bites. Their menu is reasonably priced, and the portions are generous. There are washrooms on most, if not all, floors. There is an elevator 🛗 for differently abled persons. The staff of the castle are exceedingly helpful and friendly. It is a self-guided tour, but you can get the audio at the desk with a map to help you along, or you can just wing it and have some fun! The wax museum was a lovely touch. It displays some of the actors and exhibits from movies 🎬 🎞 🎥 filmed on the premises. Visit and have fun. Adventure awaits Y🥳U!

We only had an hour before close and it was a bit overwhelming. It's crazy that there is a 98 room house/castle in Toronto. We missed the library and conservatory that we had wanted to see (made famous in several movies) because they were setting up for a wedding. The wait to go up the tower was long and very hot, but it was a nice view.

Beautiful, historic and romantic experience to take in one of the best views in Toronto and enjoy garden views. Casa Loma is one of the most majestic architectural buildings in Canada. I would definitely read up the history of this castle and check out every piece of art inside and outside.

Very beautiful castle located away from most of the hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto! We took the subway from the CN Tower area, it's a quick 10 minute walk from the Dupont station. At first glance, it looks like a nice place to learn some history about a castle, but there's so much to learn about and see. Apparently it's even a popular place for filming movies, with a lot of Hollywood titles under its belt. There's even a little wax museum, along with a few picturesque outdoor spots to have a drink or snack. Some spots are a bit tight, especially walking up the tower stairs, so keep that in mind. Definitely worth a visit!

Loved it. They have audio guides that you can listen on your phone. Bring headphones to listen to them more comfortable. Doing the audio guide makes it much more interesting and every spot turns out to be fascinating. We spent there 3 hours and only completed 2 floors. There’s a lot to watch and learn.

Very grand and majestic castle-style mansion in midtown Toronto. It was bit smaller than I had expected after reading other reviews on how big the place was and how much time I should allocate for the visit. The interior/architecture was very impressive and the skyline view of Toronto from the tower was great. Also, gorgeous and lush garden surroundings!

Casa Loma is a historic and captivating landmark located in Toronto, Canada. This grand castle-like structure was built in the early 18th century and stands out as a unique architectural gem in the heart of the city. With its striking turrets, elegant gardens, and intricate interior detailing, Casa Loma offers visitors a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of a bygone era. Exploring its rooms, which are adorned with period furnishings and decor, provides a fascinating look at Toronto's history and the life of its former residents. The castle's picturesque surroundings and panoramic views of the city make it a popular destination for both locals and tourists seeking a taste of Toronto's past.

Casa Loma was really cool to visit! It is so unique to Toronto and has so much rich history. If you wanted to take your time with the self-guided tour then you can easily be here for at least three hours. I would recommend walking up to the very top of Casa Loma. Yes, it’s a long walk with plenty of stairs but the view of Toronto is well worth it. You’ll definitely get your exercise in and your knowledge expanded after this tour!

An amazing old and historic mansion filled with stories and beautiful decoration. I highly recommend heading up to the top of the tower for a beautiful view of the city, but only if you're fairly fit and slim to average build as the stairs are steep and narrow. Loved the little hidden corridors and stairs, as well as the addition of the stables and lodge.

It's a beautiful marvellous castle. Well kept and you need more than 3 hours to view it all if you are a keen historic lover. It has good connectivity in terms of public commute. Bette is to grab tickets from city pass and enjoy the overall beauty. It's crowded in summer. Must watch place

If you’re looking to do your wedding here- it’s worth it. The views are spectacular and there really isn’t a space quite like this near the city. The history, the architecture, the grounds… it’s hard to compare. Casa Loma has its own challenges for weddings and vendors, if I can recommend one thing is to book the morning for your vendors to set up or at least noon for a 5:30pm ceremony. The staff is, however, very kind and accommodating despite the fact that they have to stick to their schedules and procedures. We pulled off a ceremony set up with a 30 min window and it’s do-able but we don’t recommend it (photo below). Otherwise, the library is gorgeous if you’re into Harry Potter vibes and the glass pavilion is a dream if you like light an airy. YES it’s possible to hang ceiling installations in there. Another thing, if you’re having your ceremony in the gazebo outside, your guests will be sitting in front and behind/ to the side of you. Overall, great experience and we love working here for weddings!

It was very busy when I was there on a Monday. The museum is incredible, but it can be hard to navigate the crowds. There are many small rooms, hallways, staircases and it becomes very cramped. I would absolutely suggest checking it out, but be aware that it's a huge place that takes hours to come close to seeing the entirety of. I wouldn't suggest it for families with small children, because of the small stairways, fragile decor, and lack of kids activities. Overall, it's a beautiful and interesting place. A great way to spend the day. It would be five stars if it weren't for the crowds.

This place was amazing! So much rich history! Loved it! My son got lost and he asked someone who worked there to help him and they kept him safe until we were able to find him! The staff were so friendly! There is a cafeteria and a fancy restaurant as well! They sold ice cream outside the entrance! Seriously the castle was beautiful!

Such a magnificent castle, filled with Canada's history and beautiful oak wood interiors. Love the city view from Norman tower and don't miss the basement that leads to the ancient car exhibit and the tunnel that connects the main castle to the stables. We also got a chance to see the Halloween exhibit in progress, which was amazing.

Brilliant historic home to visit. You can easily spend 3 to 4 hours looking at the grandeur and architecture. Don't miss the Canadian Military section on tbe upper floors and you must do both towers and the roof sections. During our visit the secret tunnel out to the garage and greenhouse area was dressed for Halloween which was terrific. A real eclectic half day of history, insight and infotainment. Highly recommended

Really interesting place to visit! I would highly recommend going when the sun is out and not during the busy season as there can be massive cues to some parts of the casa! Make sure to really explore as you can see really unique parts including celebrities like Vin Diesel & Drake! The hop on hop off bus gave a discounted rate and made it easier for us to get in straight away!

I would encourage everyone to make an effort to visit only castle in Toronto. Last time I visited was 26 years ago, what’s a different this time. Castle has been updated and more rooms put back to original setting and renovated. We walk all over castle and mostly all floors and basement opens now plus stables and garage to see old cars. Since it’s Halloween 🎃 season they created a wonderful Halloween theme and showing. Now, they have a high end’s stakes house restaurant opens Saturday only, I was told is one of the best, we looked at menu and it’s pricey but I guess it will be worth it. I’m little bit disappointed with garden and was taking over by too many buildings. Paid Parking is little bit challenging, the do have parking on site but you need to get their early or use public transportation. Overall we spent good family time unfortunately we didn’t stay after sunset to see night lights this will be for next time.

Enchanting Historical Gem Casa Loma is an absolute treasure in Toronto. This beautifully preserved castle is a testament to the city's rich history and architectural grandeur. The interior is as stunning as the exterior, and exploring the various rooms and secret passages is a delightful experience. The gardens are equally charming, offering a perfect blend of history and natural beauty. The staff's knowledge and enthusiasm make the visit even more enjoyable. A must-see destination for locals and tourists alike. Casa Loma deserves every bit of its 5-star rating!

An interesting castle that overlooks the city of Toronto if you go all the way up to the roof or the Norman tower (although it's a narrow staircase, so you'd have to be careful going up or down). The castle keepers did a good job maintaining the rooms and their decorations with a brief explanation on a board by each room. There's a parking lot inside the castle outdoor area. The only thing that was missing was a gift/souvenir shop.

The legend of horror is such a fun show. We have come here twice in the last two years. The live actors, music, atmosphere are all so good. I don’t know why people call the experience overrated. We thoroughly enjoyed. We have also seen the castle once in the past. They have fun little shows. Some history for the buffs.

This place is huge definitely would recommend coming here to check it out and seeing all the history able this castle. It’s great with the city pass. They do have extra stuff if you go near there Halloween day as well.

Casa Loma is a true Toronto treasure. This majestic castle-like mansion offers a step back in time with its stunning architecture, rich history, and beautiful gardens. Exploring its many rooms, secret passages, and grand halls is like walking through a fairy tale. The breathtaking view of the city from the towers adds to the enchantment. Whether you're a history buff or simply seeking a unique and picturesque experience, Casa Loma is a must-visit destination in Toronto. 🏰🌳🕰️

I was here with my son for the Legends of Halloween. Everything was great but they have to be more clear as to where washrooms and food are. They also need more washrooms at least one half way and another at the end. Also it would be nice if it was more clear on the website whether or not you can bring in backpacks. Also the stairs need to be more lite up and easier access to the handrail. The line to get in at the time we went wasn't so bad. As for the cost I would say $60 each was a bit much. Was planning on going to see Casa Loma during the day. But after finding out the cost no I won't be going there.

We were surprised to learn a lot of movies were filmed here including X men. Very beautiful property and the secret passage with Christmas decorations and celebrity wax museum inside the building also surprised us. Definitely recommend it to immerse yourself for at least 2 hours self-guided tour.

A beautiful and amazing castle. Walking through the many different rooms from the cellar to the lookout on the roof was very interesting . The history and the story of Sir Henry Pellatt and his wife was fascinating. The wealth that was on display was truly remarkable. So many things to do and see. We couldn’t believe how many movie scenes were filmed in the castle over the years. The castle and grounds are well maintained and worth a visit.

Festive Holiday Lights was a great expérience with kids. Lights are stunning and the projector effects they had made it come to life. With a magic show and fire show for Entertainment and Characters like the Grinch, and others walking around entertaining the kids was a great add on. The Tunnels were beautifully decorated. We would go again. Parking across George Brown college was an easy walk to the main entrance of the light show. Dress warmly and it's a great evening of fun.
