This historic building was completed in 1899 after 11 years under construction. The Romanesque-style architectural design of the interior and exterior has animal and human cravings throughout the building are magnificent. The prominent clock tower is still in good working condition. This landmark is a must see heritage site. The public can still go into 60 Queen Street for minor traffic offences. The city is still hearing matters there until they move to Front and the Esplanade while that courthouse is built.

This building is one of the iconic historical building in Downtown Toronto. Worth a watch inside and out, kind of bringing out the elegance of the structure on its way. It's built in 1899 as per the art work specifies. One of the major problems everyone face is the parking. It's very hard to find a spot nearby. Mostly would need to walk around a little if you finally get one. It's open only during weekdays, that's one of the problem all face. Weekdays they usually start around 8:30 AM and shuts off at 4:30 PM. I would recommend it if you're more into these kind of taste.

Almost has a mini parliament hill feel to it. The romanesque style makes the building feel heavy when you first look at it. Architectural cohesion isn't Toronto's strong suite so let's just accept that as fact but the variety of styles is something that we might as well cherish. Apparently haunted.

The building was used as Toronto's municipal headquarters until 1966 and features many artistic and historical highlights, including a courthouse, a council chamber, a grand committee room, which served as a center of public and political life in that period. Currently the court of justice , used to be the city council of Toronto. They have kept the front of the building same as it's over 100 yrs old and as per downtown's code, it can't be changed. Anyways, this building stands next to Toronto Eaton centre and loved by all Torontonians.

Beautiful example of old Toronto architecture. The war memorial stands out front and is where the Remembrance Day services are held each year. So much history in this building. Built in 1899 and was used as Toronto’s city hall until 1966. This is a National Historic Site.

The exterior of this grand historic building, constructed in Romanesque style in 1889 (completed in 1899), with a prominent clock tower, is impressive and one can spend a good deal of time admiring the details of its design. The building appeared to be locked, but we pushed open a heavy door to discover that it was indeed open. There were strict security procedures in order to enter, as the building now operates as a court house - the largest and busiest in all of Canada. The magnificent interior with its mosaic floor, columns, gargoyles, old elevator shaft, caricatures of Councillors, staircase and stained glass window was well worth a visit.

Absolutely stunning building! The architect, E. J. Lennox, is the same architect commissioned for the design and construction of Toronto's famous and equally amazing Casa Loma. Rarely do we ever - in this era of modern construction - see buildings with this degree of beautiful craftsmanship.

One of the best architectures still standing in this town. Found some spooky stuff about it though. Courtroom 33 is rumoured to be haunted. There’s a theory that it’s the spirits of the last two men sentenced to capital punishment in Canada in 1962. In a rear stairwell, there are reports of footsteps being heard, plus judges have felt tugging on their robes. Moans have been heard in the cellars of the majestic old building, which was the holding area for prisoners.

Just want to send a shoutout to the ladies at 12W court appeals who stayed past their work hours to help me get an application through. This building is very confusing the frustrating to navigate when you are trying to get some paperwork done. The staff deal with a lot of stressed out and sometimes unsavory public but they always keep their cool and manage to deliver good service. Thank you for understanding my situation and helping me work through it. You guys probably don’t get the appreciation you deserve. Thank you again!
