Completed in 1892, the red-brick edifice was an early example of a prominent flatiron building. It’s a beautiful flat building that is the focal point of one of Toronto’s most iconic vistas: looking west down Front Street towards the building's prominent rounded corner, framed on the sides by the heritage commercial blocks along Front Street, and with the skyscrapers of the Financial District towering in the background.

Amazing landmark of Toronto to take a picture. The building’s design is very unique and I haven’t seen one like this before. There is paid parking close to here.

Iconic historic building in Toronto, Canada, aka Gooderham building. Romanesque revival style, built around 1891 (about 10 years before NY Flatiron building). The first Otis elevator installed in North America is inside, but sadly no tours permitted. Just a few mins walk from St. Lawrence Market and there is cool park around the corner.

Finally I made it!! Been here from last 6 years and tried many times to visit but couldn’t. Today I took my son along with me and we had loads of fun in “other” part of Toronto!♥️Bonus was St Lawrence Market but lots of constructions going on and we had to walk a lot due to stroller as the sidewalks were closed

The Gooderham Building is a historic landmark located in Toronto, Canada. It was built in 1892 and is known for its unique flatiron shape, which makes it an iconic feature of the city's skyline. One of the most notable aspects of the building is its architecture. The Gooderham Building was designed by David Roberts Jr., who was inspired by the Flatiron Building in New York City. It features red-brick cladding, intricate stone detailing, and a series of rounded arches that give it a distinct Romanesque style. The interior of the building is just as impressive as the exterior. The lobby is adorned with beautiful marble floors, ornate plasterwork, and a stunning stained glass skylight that filters natural light into the space. The building's elegant details and historical charm create a unique and inviting atmosphere. The Gooderham Building is a prime example of adaptive reuse, as it has been repurposed several times throughout its history. Originally, it served as a head office for the Gooderham and Worts Distillery, one of the largest distilleries in Canada. Today, it houses a variety of office spaces and retail stores, making it a vibrant hub of activity in the heart of Toronto. Overall, the Gooderham Building is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Toronto. Its stunning architecture and rich history make it a true gem of the city.

It's very nice to see a piece of Toronto's history amidst other modern buildings. Its shape is so unusual to see that it calls for examination. I couldn't stop looking at it. It's so slim it seems to be possible to hug it. There you be able to find, across from the building, a sign explaining the buildings history and a pub at the basement called The Flatiron (evoquing a building similar to the Gooderham in NY). Behind it there is a square with a nice fountain with dog statues.

A small version of the big Flatiron building in New York ! It looks an oddity with the modern sky scrapers in the background but that’s what gives it a unique appearance. Preserved well by the government this one is not a must see but if you are coming to the St Lawrence Market area , it’s only a 1 minute walk .

What an iconic building it is!! It's amazing and you would see many people waiting to capture pictures in front of this building and surely you will get an Instagram shot. The street is busy but yes there is space to wait exactly in front of the building where you can wait for your shots and then leave. Overall a good vibe to be here

Great landmark to take photo of,Built in 1892 and designed by David Roberts Jr., it is recognizable for its distinctive wedge shape, which lends it the name “flatiron”. Also the St. Lawrence market is less than 5 min away, I recommend to check that one as well!

The Gooderham Building, known as the "Flatron Building" because of its special triangular shape, was built in 1892 and has a history of nearly 130 years. The Flatiron Building was designed and built by a designer named David Roberts Jr. According to the trend of the time, Robert Jr. designed the three-storey hotel in the corner into a five-storey luxury office building in Romanesque Revival style on the basis of the original. Now it has been one of the most expensive office buildings in the city to rent per unit area

Although we didn’t spend to much time there it was impressive! Our plan was to go there by bicycle, but no station worked out well. After we tried the streetcar, but it was so slow that we unfortunately felt forced to give just 3/5 stars. Especially impressive was the urban silence around. It was a pleasure to go (even slow) The highlight for us was the fountain with the dogs! You definitely have to check that out!

Truly iconic building in Old Toronto. Standing proud in front of downtown giants. Always amazing to see. Particularly in cloudy days. Grab a sandwich at St Lawrence Market an walk towards it on the south side of Front St. A must see!

This building is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Toronto. At first glance, it may appear like just another historic structure among many, but as you approach it, you can’t help but sense its uniqueness and the vibrant soul it possesses. I accidentally stumbled upon this architectural marvel while strolling around the famous St. Lawrence Market area, known for its farmer’s market and restaurants. The Gooderham Building’s triangular shape and rich history make it a captivating sight, evoking a nostalgic charm that transports you back in time.

If you want to know about Toronto's old history, stop by this building near the St. Lawrence Market. The area near here was the area where the city was named Cabbagetown, where many Irish immigrants settled. There is still a pub in the building, so you can stop by at night if you want.

The Gooderham building is a heritage structure built in 1892 of red brick, with attractive arched windows and a copper roof in a unique pie shape due to the confluence of Wellington and Front streets. Built as the headquarters for the Gooderham family distillery business, it now serves as office space and downstairs houses the The Flatiron & Firkin pub. Looking from the front of the building, you get the old and the new with a great view of new Toronto and it's skyline. The wide end of the building backs up to quirky Berczy Park and has an impressive murial of windows that seem to be flutterting in the wind.

Wedged between Front street and Wellington street in Downtown Toronto, the Gooderham building is the focal point of one of Toronto's most iconic vistas with skyscrapers including CN tower towering in it's background. It is more commonly known as the flat iron building due to its narrow wedge shape. The mural on the back of the building is unique due to its edges 'fluttering away' giving it a mobile effect. Overall, it's a treat to one's eyes and is one of the most iconic buildings in Toronto!
