I had an absolutely amazing time at the King of the Bootleggers escape room. It was very immersive with the characters, costumes and great acting. The escape room was rather challenging, but not enough where you would be stuck or have a bad time. I will definitely be back to try out the other escapes. There’s also an opportunity for photos at the end with props which was great!

Although mask mandates ended in March they require masks to be alone in a room with my wife and friends. One of us just said "really?" out of surprise when told this and we put our masks on. Complaining to the employee about company policies doesn't help anything. There was no mention of this that I saw on the website or confirmation message and although we were fine doing it we wouldn't have booked based on this and wish we knew. If we didn't already have it booked and planned we would have just opted out of participating and not spent the money. It's a quality escape room although we've done many that were better and it was over very priced in comparison. ... The biggest sticking point for us is the outdated mask policy which I would normally not support with my money but we weren't aware and it was too late. There are better escape rooms out there.

We Loved it, we try to go every year! It's so much fun! If you can't do stairs then think twice as there are many stairs in the courtyard.

We did King of the Bootleggers and it was I think the best room escape I've ever been to. And I've been to many, many room escapes. The set design was incredible. The setting was a historical mansion type thing and the puzzles were in 3 main rooms, as well as a hallway connecting them (one was a speakeasy in the basement which was super cool). They really put a lot of thought into the environment and using different types of puzzles that make you interact with the whole room. The quality was just amazing. Highly recommend!

Great experience! it was my first time in an escape room and it was great to have actors who really stayed in character and also facilitated some of the puzzles. For example if you’re looking something completely wrong, they’ll hint you are looking at the wrong place. The hinting is done in a natural and non-excessive manner so it doesn’t make it “too easy”.

Great experience, a definite must try. I did the Bootleggers escape room, it involves the tunnels of Casa Loma. This was a great way to see parts of the building and property that most people never see, the tunnels lead off the main property, very cool experience. The game itself was great, according to the staff, only 17% of the people succeed in finishing it. The actors did an excellent job, they will lead you on the right path should you need it and ask. They can't tell if you'll succeed. The game was just the right amount of difficulty. I will totally come back and try the other two escape rooms.

Wow, this escape room was next level. No comparison to any others I've done before. The actors for King of the Bootleggers were just incredible. They really made the experience memorable, and the reason we want to return to do the others! Give it a try, it's great fun!

We went here as a group of seven people and we did the King of the bootleggers room. The part that we really like is the quality of the puzzle equipments. They are not only the general number or letter types of puzzle that you will commonly find in the other escape rooms. (The room decoration is really beautiful and well-made). The host is so friendly and helpful. One thing that we don’t like is that we were divided into two groups and worked on different rooms. So each group may not see the puzzle in the another room (the puzzles in each room are complicated). I would say that it might be more fun if we work together from the start (but we wouldn’t finish still because there are so many puzzles to solve). Let’s say that I would recommend the bigger group to complete this game (as close as 10 people) and be ready to be divided into two groups.

WOW! Went with the whole family, and what an amazing experience! Hands down the best escape room we've ever been to, and the location is unbeatable! The moment we walked into the Murdock Mystery escape room, it felt as though we were transported back in time. The room had an authentically eerie vibe, and the actors were soooo good! They never broke character while setting the stage and outlining objectives. They gave timely hints without spoiling anything (all while still maintaining an 'old school detective' air of mystery). This made the puzzles entertaining and challenging without being frustrating. Each step required more and more teamwork, which lead to palpable suspense and escalating tension. We ended up solving it with only 10 seconds to spare! Even my 11 year old daughter was truly captivated, which these days is very hard to do. It's an absolute gem of a find and so happy we did it! I can't wait to try the other rooms.

These games are really well done, and designed to work well with larger groups that could be strangers. There are lots of puzzles to keep big groups all active and entertained. Also means you can go more than once to each, and do different parts. For experienced escape artists, the puzzles are a bit on the easier side, but still quite fun and engaging. The staff actors are also fun, and aren't part of most experiences elsewhere. Great for hooking your friends before taking them to private rooms.

Escape The Tower - It’s not easy to score a perfect 5 especially when you are a selective reviewer wanting to share only your best experiences with future adventures. This is it! Experiencing backstage of the epic Toronto landmark, the setting, props, actors, puzzles and story allows this escape room to create an environment that both tests and blows your mind!!! Pick a strong team, book this ride and I promise you will be totally satisfied with your adventure.

So much fun! The character interacting with you adds another level to an already amazing escape room! We did Station M with 12 people, definitely one of the harder ones we’ve done. But we escaped with a few seconds to spare!

We did the Murdock Mystery Escape Room. We've never done an escape room so really didn't know what to expect. Loved it, well done Casa Loma! The time slot we chose we were the only 2, so it did make things alittle more difficult. We did get some help from the actors, and after the hour, we were able to reflect on what we missed. Actors are very engaging, great job. Anyone considering buying tickets, do it!

Was a great art display experience. Staff seemed incredibly unmotivated like they didn’t have any work ethic or enthusiasm for the job. VIP wasn’t really much extra value. Can get very crowded.

Our family and several friends tried the escape room as part of a graduation party for my son. We had a mixed groups, some young, some older. Everyone was engaged and we all had a great time. We didn't quite make out in time 😢 but we came close! The live actors in the game really made a difference and added so much to the game. We will have to try again.

Overall the experience was good. Pro: The best parts of this event were the interactive actors. They were outstanding and brought the Escape Room to another level as you felt more immersed in the story. I loved their energy and enthusiasm. They were friendly and provided hints if required. Regarding the actual escape room, having the rooms within Casa Loma with high quality props created an excellent atmosphere that augmented reality to the story. We enjoyed the ambience and decor. The complexity of the puzzles were good and there were a variety of them in three different rooms. Cons: The rating would have been 5 stars if we completed the game privately. We unfortunately had another group added to the booking. Your experience is at the mercy of the compatibility of strangers and ability to work as an inclusive team with them. My smaller group of 5 was mixed with a larger group. It took away from the experience and as a result it was NOT worth the money and I would not book in this manner again. When amalgamating groups with a total of 12 players, there should be a system to facilitate participation of all players. For example, if there is a full number of adult players, implementing more simultaneous puzzles per room or reduce the number of players would be helpful solutions for a better experience for all. Lastly, there is the private option, but at a cost of $425 per game. Again, not worth the money for 5 players.

Great escape game to go with a big group for team building or just with a bunch of friends and family. We did escape the tower which was very fun. They also offer a few different games which we plan on attending again in the near future. If you are there for the escape games there is a small lot that is free to park, just let the parking attendant know that you are there for the escape game. Very fun for all ages unfortunately we were trapped in the tower because we ran out of time.

Such a fun, immersive escape room experience! The actors stay in character and give clues which really keeps the atmosphere. Some of the challenges are tough and require thinking outside the box but we got it right down to the last minute which made it very exciting! Will go back for sure. We did the King of the Bootleggers.

Wow! We honestly can’t say enough amazing things about the Casa Loma Escape Rooms. The actors were incredibly kind, helpful, resourceful, and presented great humour while remaining in character. We went through “King Of The Bootleggers” with another large group and the performers curated such a great team environment that was full of laughter and engagement, despite starting as total strangers! The instructions for accessing the escape room wasn’t entirely clear on the website (pre-booking or post-booking). We followed “escape room entrance” signage to a side door, but were promptly dismissed by a stressed staff member preparing for an event and told to use the main entrance. We went to the main entrance and were kindly redirected back to the side entrance. It was definitely a nerve wracking start to the experience, as we’re definitely people-pleasers that dislike confrontation or burdening people while they work 😅 Aside from the brief hiccup with a staff member unrelated to the Escape Rooms due to some confusion, it really was an amazing experience once we found our way inside! Awesome sets, intriguing storyline, super seamless booking, and the ultimate escape room experience ☺️

I attended as a group of 3, and despite a snowstorm and the second group being a no-show, the team made seamless changes to the escape room for us to enjoy with our (very) small group! We appreciated that the 3 actors still gave us their full attention through the session! The actors, Joe, Eddie, and the bartender did a fabulous job an helped to make it a very fun night! I would highly recommend the King of the Bootleggers escape room!

Having never been to an escape room, we weren't sure what to expect. I can confidently say that The Station M Escape Room at Casa Loma was fantastic. The rooms were cleverly planned and the code breaking was challenging. But my favourite part was the staff-they did an excellent job staying in role! I would highly recommend an adventure here. Will definitely go back to try another room:)

We were a group of six and we had a blast!! The Murdoch Mysteries puzzles were clever and challenging, and the actors played their parts extremely well, all the while encouraging us as we zipped around solving the conundrums at hand. It was so much fun!! We are happy to recommend Casa Loma Escape Rooms, and we would definitely be excited to try our hand at another soon.

We did the Dragon's Song with a group of friends and it was a blast! We had a few out of town visitors and were glad that they got this experience. Booked the 12 person private event and glad we did, would be less predictable to communicate with the different tasks with strangers included in the group. Live actors were brilliant. Would come back again for the other games.

This was so much fun! It's really nice having the actors there to help you instead of a disembodied voice over a PA system like some escape rooms have. We did Dragons Song. It was definitely appropriate for all ages, but does require climbing many stairs. Be sure to check the details of each room on the site. We will be back for another room soon!

We had an amazing time with the Dragon’s Song game. The actors were great, keeping the game atmosphere all the time. Our host, Chris, was great at setting the mood for the experience from the beginning until the end, making everything even more special.

We did the Dragon Song room, and it was amazing. The puzzles were very creative and fun. The difficulty level was perfect for a group with kids. I was on the fence about the live actors being part of the escape room, but they truly kicked the fun up to the next level. They really keep you emersed in the world of the escape room, and provide helpful pokes in the right direction when stumped by a puzzle. 100% recommend if you are looking for a fun activity to do while in Toronto.

We went with a group of friends to do the Dragon's Song experience, and it was SO MUCH FUN. The actors were fantastic and in character and made the experience really enjoyable. It was very easy to meet their energy and play along without feeling silly. The puzzles themselves were clever and intuitive and the actors were very smart in how they delivered hints without being overly obvious about it. The whole event was clearly made with a lot of attention to detail and love from everyone involved. I really loved the experience of traveling up the tower and how each level felt unique and how it all came together felt very special. Normally I am not a huge fan of escape rooms, but this one was amazing and I would love to try another one of their experiences again. Highly recomend.

Puzzles were great and well thought out. Atmosphere and production quality was top notch, but the best part was the actors. They did a great job at guiding us without telling us the answers, and they stayed in character the whole time. Best escape room I have done.

This is one of the most well organized and entertaining escape room experiences. The staff are energetic, and the actors are awesome!!! The puzzles are well thought out, challenging but solvable, tech is decent, story is good, and the overall experience was excellent. The design of the experience is very immersive, and the set decor is top notch! Loads of fun!

Came here and did the Dragon's song as a team building exercise. The live actors definitely add a nice and engaging touch. The theme is fitting for the castle you're in and it is challenging! We had 12 individuals and almost finished! Would highly recommend this escape room and others this company has.

  • 5/5 Julian V. 6 months ago on Google
Although it's on the pricier end of escape rooms, it is far more interactive than the other ones. We did the dragon quest and we had a fun time. Our group of 4 mixed with a group 7 and had to solve the puzzles. There were two participants in a knight and wizard and both played their characters extremely well. Overall a wonderful time if you want a very interactive escape room.

Had SO much fun doing the King of the Bootleggers experience!! The setup of the rooms and actors made it feel like a real speakeasy set in the 20s. The actors were very considerate and gave us the right amount of clues to nudge us towards the right direction, while still leaving us challenged. We did not escape in time but we were close and enjoyed every second of the process. My group came dressed up for the theme but there are also some props at the end for photo opportunities! Would recommend these escape rooms to everyone and will definitely be back to try the other rooms.

My 13 year old brother and I (23) did the Murdoch mystery room and we had a blast! The actors were awesome and super helpful about getting us into the spirit of the game! I will say, I have done quite a few other escape experiences and this one was definitely on the more challenging side, especially because you are likely to be paired with strangers and have to find a way to collaborate quickly and effectively. Loved the setting and loved the twists and turns in the game experience that came along the way! Definitely would recommend!

Although I have yet to try their games I have however delt with their customer service staff and also the staff who run the games and I can tell you Meg was so amazing and accommodating to our party and the staff even offered to stay an extended time to offer us another game. Unfortunately we have to rebook as these covid times are fluid but dealing with these wonderful people couldn't have made it easier! I can't wait to reschedule and come experience everything I've been told about and thank you again to such a great help online and being so responsive. Cheers!

  • 5/5 Shawn S. 1 year ago on Google
This is an escape room experience that is unparalleled to other escape rooms. Amazing actors who played a pivotal role in setting the scene, providing help, and being a part of the actual puzzle. It was well designed for large groups with the multi-room layout that split our 15-person team into 5 teams to solve 3 simultaneous puzzles, before then bringing us together to solve two more puzzles. This felt like a great way to let players get used to solving on their own, before help from the "better" puzzlers could arrive and help them solve it. But the real treat was in the **details**. Every bit of the house felt like both world building and a cleverly hidden clue, with puzzles that I can genuinely say I haven't seen before! No puzzles felt too hard to handle, but they did stretch the lateral thinking, and the actors were useful in giving hints without giving answers. Then there's the MOOD of the entire night; the sound effects of a ticking clock as you hit your time limit (in our case, police sirens over the speaker getting louder as the police were coming to foil our bootlegging and robbery) makes the sense of panic and need to solve VERY REAL. The last activity felt like a scene out of Clue as we were running from room to room trying to find the last pieces needed to escape, and it was the most fun I've had in a while (not just escape rooms). In the end, we escaped with less than a minute left, and we all genuinely felt like geniuses working through the multiple layers of puzzles and story. If you have even a passing interest in escape rooms, this is the one to do, and is even worth coming from outside the country for (as we did!)

I've done at least 8 escape rooms this year and Escape Casa Loma-- at least, the escape room itself-- definitely makes my top 3. Pros: The live actors really made the experience unique and immersive. They were all decked out in clothes fitting with the theme. They were always in character and had great, infectious energy. The escape room itself was fun and full of interesting puzzles, and no two were the same, despite there being so many. There were few to no literal locks that you had to find a combination for; everything as far as I could remember was sensor-based, which is extremely creative. I loved that there were multiple floors leading up to a tower-- but after a while we got a bit sick of the stairs. The decor was beautiful and I loved every detail. Cons: The stairs were endless, and I really wish the website were more upfront about how many stairs you'd need to climb -- not only within the escape room itself, but also just to get there. It's also kind of unclear where to go to get to the escape room and you have to walk through a lot of employee hallways, which was very off-putting. I also think mixed group escape rooms shouldn't exist, since it ruins the experience greatly, and feels like a cash grab. Luckily, we got a nice group of people, but it was still slightly awkward and felt jarring when trying to solve puzzles in a timely manner. Overall, a top-tier escape room with a few flaws that strongly impacted the experience, but still one of my favorites by far. I'd definitely go back to Toronto just to do another escape room here, but I'd try to get a full group if possible to avoid another mixed one.

My Bachelorette party and I had a lot of fun at the Casa Loma Escape room! The interactive hosts are really good actors and help with subtle hints when you get stuck. We just missed escaping, but that's okay. They walked us through what we missed and I will most likely be trying another one of their Escape rooms in the future.

Great time. The Dragon's Song exceeded my expectations. My Wife and 2 boys, 8 and 10, have previously done escape rooms (including 1 in calgary and 1 back home in Belleville Ontario). I have done all of the ones in Niagara Falls, Ontario in addition to the ones with the wife and kids previously mentioned. By far this place had much more to offer. Especially impressed with the amount of effort put into the decoration of the environment and elaborate ideas used to make the storyline and props used to generate their puzzles. I feel like having live actors added the benefit of making sure the entire experience made sense every step of the way and that the group isnt becoming too far distracted by something that isnt related to the goals. They knew how to read the room and offer just the right amount of assistance when the group wanted it, without ruining any of the experience. I highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind climbing stairs ( Their totally worth climbing).

My friend and I did the Murdoch Mysteries and it was great fun! Not sure how many people are successful as it is more challenging than others I've done. It's a bit pricier than others as well but you are also paying for the setting, Casa Loma. The 'actors' that can provide clues are there sparingly which is good. Need a big group for this one to solve it in time.

Such an amazing experience! The actors really helped to make the rooms feel special and they were all so talented! The puzzles were very well thought out and it was definitely the coolest and most well done escape room I've ever been too! Could not recommend more!

  • 5/5 Felix F. 9 months ago on Google
Fantastic! The actors were great and the puzzles were well thought out. I did dragon's song. We had a large group and there were enough puzzles to keep us all busy, structured in such a way that multiple people could easily work on the same puzzle at once. The actors kept in character and did some fun scenes as we climbed stairs between levels, which I thought was great. They also stayed in character when giving hints for puzzles we were stuck on. There are a LOT of stairs in dragon's song so I can't recommend it for anyone with any kind of mobility issues. That said, it does lend a sense of progression to the game, as you literally move up a level when you finish the puzzles on a floor. Photos weren't allowed (as is usual in escape rooms) but there is a very cool animatronic dragon head.

We did Escape the Tower and had a great experience! Loved it right from the get go! The actors that were with our group were fantastic. And we were grouped with people we didn’t know and that made it even better. Highly recommend this and we are looking forward to our next Escape Adventure!

A total money grab, there are way better escape rooms in Toronto for better price. We did Station M and the rooms could have been in a shack by the farm for all I care, there was nothing Casa Loma about it. There was also zero reason for the receptionist to be rude with us when two from our group were late and were not let in even though it was 3 minutes since the start time. Never going back to any escape rooms from this company.

We did the Murdock Mystery, it was 58 CAD (tax included). The puzzles were really creative involving maps, music, magnets, and searching for items. There were two rooms, and a live actor was unexpectedly introduced after solving one of the puzzles. This was really fun. The acting was great, he would provide small hints if we really got stuck. Overall it was fun. It is a tough escape room with many different puzzles. Compared to other escape rooms I have done, it did seemed more complex with many things ongoing. You do need a large group for this one. It was not held in the actual castle.

We did the Murdoch Mystery escape room and it was incredibly fun! The actors were amazing , definitely offered some hints when we were struggling. Lots of different tasks for big groups to split up into so no one is left doing nothing. There is a narrowish staircase up to one of the starting/washroom areas, but otherwise the escape room is contained into one large, single level room..

Absolutely amazing. The charm of the venue is undeniable, and the escape room is more complex than I imagined. The talent that was assigned to us was INCREDIBLE- so many thanks to them. Also, wearing those costumes in this sweltering heat, hats off to them. An absolute wonderful experience.

I love this place! This is my second escape room experience at Casa Loma and absolutely love that it's fun for almost all ages and it's entertaining in addition to mind boggling. The level of difficulty feels appropriate for the price and group setting. I also just love the ambiance and attention to detail in staging the rooms. It's so much fun... the only thing I might see for improvement is much or how little actors help in giving clues but for the most part, it's much appreciated that they try to leave us to our own devices till the last minute. Overall, I loved my experiences and will continue to come back.

This was our first experience with an escape room and our family played Dragon's Song. All actors were absolutely top notch and funny. Puzzles were reasonably challenging to solve. Location and decorations were really cool. The biggest issue we had was figuring out where to go. Even with the instructions provided via email we ended up wandering almost into an unauthorized and security stopped us and redirected us. Wandering through the basement we eventually found a food court and what appeared to be the check in desk but no one was there. We hung out in the food court until someone arrived and all was good. A little better signage and direction is definitely needed. The best part of the experience were definitely the actors as they were accommodating, professional, and engaging. Would definitely recommend an escape room with this group.

I had such an incredible time doing the Dragon's Song escape room, and will definitely be looking into booking one of their other rooms in the future! The actors were incredible, and the style of comedy was perfect for the theme of the room. The puzzles were also really great! Just challenging enough to make you think without having to stress about the time limit, and great to split everyone into groups working on whatever catches their eye. Would not recommend. First, they try to explain the basic rules of the rooms, but there's a loud speaker playing pop music literally right in our ears while the guy explains everything. We told him we couldn't hear him, he did nothing to accommodate. They make you play with strangers. I don't know these people, and now I have to workout puzzles with them? Every other room I've ever done has been with my group only. One booking, one group. We've never been mixed in with other groups.why would anyone want this? Other people are the worst. You don't get to do the entire escape room, because they break everyone off into smaller groups. If you finish your area then you can join another group to help them with their puzzles, but you have no idea what they are working on and have to be brought up to speed. The actors do a good job, and I have nothing against them, but I hate that they are there, watching the entire time. It feels like someone is reading over my shoulder. Why am I paying for this? Worst escape room in the city. Hands down. I Would never recommend this experience for anyone, ever.

The escape room we booked this time was called Devil’s Advocate, it wasn’t scary but it had a bit more of a scary vibe to it...

There were so many cool surprises throughout the game especially towards the end (no spoilers!). I've done quite a few escape games and this is one of my favourites that's contained in a single ro...

👍👍 Return customer. Visited Roundabout Escape Room twice and enjoyed both experiences! We chose Mummy and Final Destination. Both rooms were very enjoyable. Props and decorations were detailed. Will be returning in the future to try more rooms. Highly recommended! Prices reasonable.

This escape room experience was hands down the best I've ever participated in. The games were incredibly immersive, well-crafted, and a ton of fun. The attention to detail and...

UPDATE: went again, this time we tried the exorcist, and as expected it was amazing, the right amount of scary and challenging at the same time, so much fun, defi...
