I recently had the pleasure of staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Toronto Downtown on 25 May 2023, and I must say it was an excellent experience from start to finish. This hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Toronto, making it an ideal choice for exploring the city. The location of the hotel is fantastic. It is within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas, allowing me to easily explore the vibrant city of Toronto. The proximity to public transportation also made it convenient to visit other parts of the city. The staff at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Toronto Downtown were friendly, attentive, and provided exceptional service. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm smile and a delicious cookie—a small gesture that made me feel welcomed and appreciated as a guest. The front desk staff were knowledgeable and helpful, providing recommendations and answering any questions I had about the area. The room I stayed in was spacious, clean, and well-appointed. The comfortable bed ensured a restful sleep, and the amenities provided everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The room had a beautiful view of the city, adding to the overall experience. The hotel's dining options were impressive. I enjoyed a delightful breakfast at the on-site restaurant, which offered a wide selection of dishes to suit every taste. The quality of the food was excellent, and the service was prompt and attentive. One of the standout features of this hotel is its amenities. The fitness center was well-equipped with modern machines, allowing me to maintain my workout routine while traveling. Additionally, the rooftop terrace provided a stunning panoramic view of the city, making it a perfect spot to relax and unwind. The cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel were top-notch. The common areas were spotless, and the housekeeping staff ensured that my room was always clean and well-maintained. It was evident that the hotel takes pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. Overall, my stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Toronto Downtown was exceptional. The prime location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and excellent amenities made it a standout choice for accommodation in Toronto. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay in the heart of the city.

Good if you’re just looking for a place to sleep that is in close proximity to the places you’re looking to go. Service is average. Tried to book a time slot for the pool, and was told they would contact me back in the room. Never got a call. Not a big deal. It was just something I was going to do to kill time, but would have been nice to get a call back to tell me no time slots were left (assuming that was the case). Breakfast was good in the morning. Rooms are a tad bit small. Bed was comfortable, and had a decent sleep. Views are just okay. Make sure you close your windows for privacy, since I could definitely see into the building next door to me.

The front desk staff was welcoming and friendly. They deserve 5 stars. And yes, you really get hot cookies. They do smell delicious (unfortunately I can't eat them). I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the rooms. The hotel was recommended to me and obviously is in a great location. The rooms are small and a bit old fashioned. Definitely clean. But you can see the usage over time in the showers or on the carpet. The towels and sheets smelled a lot like bleach. (They're white and I understand its the best way to keep them clean). The heater was very noisy at night and woke me up several times. I payed $225 for a night in a room with a king size bed, which I think was a bit high for that kind of room. If you're not looking for anything fancy than a place to sleep and you have a good budget, its an ok place to stay with spa and pool and short walks to interesting places around the hotel. Personally I would try another hotel next time.

Overall not a bad stay. This hotel is in the perfect location, right beside Nathan Phillips Square and St. Patrick Station. The room was on the smaller side, but big windows made it feel nice and bright. Sadly a new tower has gone up right next door, which blocks any CN Tower views. Warm cookies at check-in is also a nice touch. Unfortunately our stay was not perfect, as midway through my shower the water started coming out dark brown for about 20 seconds. The front-desk sent up their “engineering” team to have a look, who just told me to run the water for 5 minutes before using it. Considering this happened in the middle of my shower, I don’t see how that would help… It didn’t completely ruin the stay for me, but there definitely shouldn’t be brown water coming out of the taps in a Hilton brand property…

I was here for a quick 1 night trip and loved it. My room was clean, the staff were lovely I got a couple snacks in the lobby, everything was great. Thank you to all the employees who put so much work into making my short stay a good one. Thanks!!

Service from the moment I walked through the doors was wonderful. Rooms were standard size, clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. One of the front desk employees had received a promotion on this day and the staff were congratulating her. Everyone was so happy for her. It was such a nice encouraging group of people. Check-in was quick and easy. They gave me two complimentary water bottles and a cookie. Random, I know but the cookie was excellent. Actually the cookie is what prompted me to write this review. There are lots of hotels of similar caliber in this area of Toronto so I could pick any of them and likely have a similar experience but they don’t all give away delicious cookies. So that’s why I would come back to this specific hotel. The Double Tree did something that went beyond my expectation. It was a simple welcome gesture that none of the other hotels have done for me before. And it was nice.

Unfortunately we received horrible service. We researched the best options when travelling to the city with two young children and were excited for our stay based on the current reviews. Upon check in we requested late check out and was informed we would be able to stay an extra hour when we checked out at the end of our stay. The day we left we went back to the room and were locked out. We were then told we did not receive late check out and had 10 min to leave or we would be charged late fees. You can image how frustrating this is to pack up and entire suite with two young children in 10 minutes when we thought we had an hour. Will not be staying here again and will not be recommending it to anyone. For the price we paid for the suite we expected a decent level of service. The service did not match the price we paid for our room.

This hotel is absolutely TERRIBLE. I stayed here early November with a friend for a late a chill birthday gathering. I was completely disgusted with Adam R and after escalating my matter to management to Matt NOTHING was resolved. First of all, when we originally booked we were given one price, and when we got there the price of suddenly gone up with fees that were never mentioned. Then, at around 11 PM, Adam Mentioned that we received a noise complaint and we apologized and said we would quiet it down, which we did and NEVER received another complaint. He then came up three different times to ask how many people were staying overnight, I told him 2, he asked then why are there 5 people in the room and I told him that these were friends who just came by to drop off a birthday gift for me. I spaced out guests stopping by to minimize the amount of people in the suite at the same so it wouldn’t be a problem and I mentioned this before booking to make sure it was allowed and I was told by Sharon that it was. Adam became extremely condescending, very disrespectful and One of my guest was so turn off with his behaviour that she decided to leave. I asked to speak with Matt who came to the room and agreed that the behaviour we were encountering was it not fair, yes still sided with Adam and did nothing to reconcile the mistreatment. I called on the following Monday to speak with the general manager whose name escapes me right now, and he said he would look into things and get back to me that same day and although I have not heard anything back. And this hotel is unprofessional with disrespectful stuff and I do not recommend it to anyone. I do much business in the city and will NEVER be staying here again.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was very tidy and had everything we needed. No microwaves in rooms but there’s a communal one in the lobby which was very convenient. We received fresh baked cookies when we came in and staff was able to hold onto luggage for us which made our day so much easier. The restaurant was also nice phenomenal. I had the best steak I’ve ever had at Hemispheres. They also have a 24 hour snack store in the lobby which is again very convenient and makes the life of a traveller much easier.

We stayed here for one night and loved it. It was very nicely decorated for Christmas, and was very clean with good Covid protocols. It was possibly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! The front desk staff were very helpful and polite. We will definitely be back!

We're DoubleTree members and we've been to them before but this one really disappointed us. My husband and I stayed here and we do not want to come back. Once we checked into our room it was late and all we wanted to do was sleep. Once the morning came we saw the state of the room had coffee stains on the wall. Some sort of stains in the washroom as well as stains on the edge of the bedding. We brought it up to their attention as soon as we noticed. They did apologize and change our rooms to a much cleaner room which was nice. However we were just so dissatisfied that we were given a room in such a state in the first place. It never should have happened at all. I believe they should have taken off the charge for us staying in that room for the evening since it was clearly not up to standards. The staff was very nice and the location is great I just hope they do better with the cleaning.

First time here and I would definitely come back. The room was not huge but cozy and comfy. Clean and tidy. The reception desk staff were very polite and helpful. They even gave me a home made cookie! Overall I was a good stay.

Service from the front desk was amazing. The checkout process was seamless. Parking was a bit of an issue due to the construction in the area making it quite tight to get into. Parking was also limited (we managed to find one of the last spots). The room was clean and the well-known cookie upon check-in was great :) The price was a bit high for this location, however, it was suspected that due to the numerous concerts/ events in the city during the weekend, the rate was inflated to reflect.

We had been awake since 3am and requested early check in. They accommodated us which we were very grateful for but while waiting for our room (45min) I layed down on a couch in the lobby and was finger wagged from the front staff. Our room was comfortable and the bed was awesome. At check out I mentioned that the shower stall was not clean. Several long hairs on the floor of the shower. Zero compensation. Not even and offer.

Check in was awful. Make sure you have a credit card or you will be made to feel like a second class citizen.! More than enough on my debit for a security deposit. Was told it was fine but would not be returned till security ensured we didn't trash the room. I was here with my daughter for one night for a wedding. This experience soured my brand experience. However check out with Selen really made up for it. She was cheerful and efficient. The rooms as mentioned were clean and spacious.

It was raining and it was my first solo trip to Toronto. I was on foot and I wasn't supposed to check in til 3pm, it was 1pm. I didn't feel like shopping and I was done walking around...so I walked over to the hotel to see maybe if the bar was open (it wasn't). I went to the check in, and the fantastic concierge told me that he would check if my room was ready and if it was I could head up early. After checking, it was in fact ready and I was able to go chill out and dry off. Great service! The room was comfortable, clean, and had all the expected amenities.

Nice hotel at a great location with a usable gym and a nice small swimming pool to relax in after a long day. Check out the video to get a feel for the hotel, room and the view. The only downside in a 4-night stay was pretty long and unnecessary waiting time for breakfast. You wait up to 10 minutes to be seated even though there are tables available and you end up bringing the food to your table yourself.

I checked in at the hotel on October 3, 2023, and stayed for 2 nights. The first thing that struck me was the outdated facilities. They definitely need some renovation to bring them up to modern standards. One major issue was the noise that AC made kept me awake at night. And note that the AC in my room was off. The sound came from other rooms. However, the AC was the least concerning thing. When I was leaving my room to check out in the morning, I noticed that the room door was damaged. Right above the door handle on the hallway-facing side a piece of wood veneer was chipped off. This is at a very conspicuous place on the door, anyone would notice this when opening the door. The door had no damage throughout my previous 2-day stay. In fact, I didn't see any damage when I returned to my room the night before at around 9 p.m., which means that between 9 p.m. on 10/5 and when I left the room at 11 a.m. on 10/6, the door was somehow damaged when I was in the room. It is also very strange that there is any chipped-off veneer residue on the floor. When I told the front desk, the lady at the front desk didn't take this seriously at all. She brushed it off as if the veneer had fallen off naturally, which is clearly not the case. This incident has left me feeling uneasy about the security measures in place at the hotel. I can't help but wonder what might have happened, and it's not a feeling I would want anyone else to experience. In light of these issues, I would not recommend anyone stay there until they improve their security measures.

Excellent check in experience Rooms are on the small side, but typical for an urban hotel. Beds are comfy. Room was clean. Elevators are quick and minimal wait time at peak hours. Hotel is close to the financial and entertainment district. Many great restaurants are within walking distance.

The worst customer service I have ever received. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Check in was a nightmare. I had to wait over 40 minutes for an issue to be addressed and management did not evwn have the courtesy to come out and speak to me directly. The management there would rather pretend you don't exist than actually do their job and address the problem. I was there to take my daughter for her first hotel experience ever and planned some stuff to do in the nearby area. I had won tickets for a hotel stay that the hotel refused to honor claiming a Hilton employee booked the room incorrectly and that was somehow my fault. Forced to pay in full for a standard room that had filthy windows and some sort of stain that looked like puke on the bathroom wall. Contacted Hilton customer service and was promised a call back from the hotel management but they never fulfilled their promise or addressed my issue with my stay. A motel 6 would of treated us better. First and last stay at this hotel. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Expected more honestly. The pool was very small, as well as the fitness centre. Front desk employee was nice to give us warm cookies but he gave off the feeling he didn’t think we were.. wealthy enough to stay at this hotel. Which really I don’t spend $500 on a one bedroom room but it was late notice, and it was a treat for pride. A big issue was when I looked online the hotel accepts all credit cards including visa, but when I got to the front desk I was told visa was not accepted. This almost ruined the trip considering they need a $50 deductible in order to stay, and the only reason it wasn’t ruined is because we had another type of credit card. Moving from that, the room was very small but the view was nice considering it was a high floor. Possibly if I stayed on a different date the amenities and treatment would have been worth the price. Definitely meant for people who are on business than leisure, and I don’t think I’ll be back sadly.

Wonderful and accommodating staff! Service exceptional! I’m giving a 5 star BUT keep in mind it’s a new hotel so still working out the kinks. In-suite coffee machine bit defective but the coffee shop downstairs is amazing with freshly baked goods. In-suite 24/7 food was convenient and surprisingly for late night meal delicious! Very impressed on the quality! Functionality of the room is very modern, an open concept with the sink in the room but it was very cool and different! Will definitely stay there again! Service above and beyond that’s for sure!

Was visiting a friend from out of town staying here for the weekend. The room was a spacious suite, very nice. Since I didn't stay here can't comment on the service. Buildings all around so not much of a view

Like many reviews state, the room was not clean. The bedsheets clearly had not been washed after the last guests, as there were crumbs and a brown stain on the side of the fitted sheet. There is no excuse for this- doesn’t seem the hotel actually cares about cleanliness since reviewers have pointed this out for years.

Nice hotel, solid bar downstairs, breakfast bar in the morning. Staff was kind and service good. Rooms were ok, beds were nice but gap under door was too large so could hear people in the hall. The parking garage was a big challenge. I drive a truck and it was a nightmare parking with the roof scraping the top of my truck at times. Some kind of warning when booking would be appropriate.

I am extremely disappointed in the service from this hotel. I had a booking for new years eve, and unfortunately the day before my friend and I tested positive for covid. We had called the hotel 2 days prior and asked about the cancellation policy and were told that we could cancel any time, and “due to the current surge in covid cases, the hotel was very understanding and willing to refund”. We have been waiting for a response for weeks now and finally today we were emailed and told that we will not be getting any refund at all. This is extremely disappointing and has turned us off any future stays. We will be looking into this refund policy further.

We had a good stay because of the location but it’s not excellent. We wanted to pay for an upgrade to a suite room( because we’re staying for 5 days)whenever it becomes available. There was no follow up from the reception and we were really disappointed. The only good thing is Yuya Matsushita at the reception whom I met on the last night at the hotel. He was very helpful printing our boarding pass. The staff were generally helpful with taxi calls and the lady at the restaurant. Overall, it’s all good.

We stayed for one night, booked a King room and were given a queen—fine, however, if you book something and think that’s what you’re getting-that’s what you should get. Pool was disgusting, to say the least. It was so dirty, hairs and dirt around the pool deck. Also feels like a dungeon as it’s so dark and no music or anything playing. Parking garage is very tight and signage to elevators is horrible! We ate at the restaurant which was actually pretty good but when we asked about the breakfast buffet we were told it would be $30/person and $15/child.. sorry but for our family of 4 $100 for breakfast? How much does someone actually eat at breakfast? Overall the room was clean and staff were friendly but the pool really bothered me. We only needed to stay 1 night which was fine but I wouldn’t have wanted to spend any more time there. As a “Hilton” hotel, this really disappointed.

Update: Our agency booked us here for a second time and I'm glad to say that our second experience was MUCH better than the first. Every staff we met looked happy and was fun to talk to. Last time, the staff all looked stress and were grumpy. The terribly dead flowers were removed from the lobby and the hotel looked and felt more clean this time. October: Arriving to our hotel in a very good mood, we left 2 days later quite disappointed with our stay. As funny as this is, I was a little sad to not see complimentary cookies in our room like the website stated there would be. There was also more of a motel vibe in the room. The location was great for being close to downtown imenities, but the building and decor felt old. I assume this place was close to a 5 star back in the day but it felt more like a 3 star now. The photos of the hotel look much nicer than how it is in real life. As helpful as the front staff were, they almost always looked overwhelmed and unhappy, and one staff member(maybe a manager?) looked quite sloppy and not pleased to be there. The vibes just felt off and grumpy around the staff. One positive thing I have to say is that the pool ladies washrooms and dry sauna room were very nice, nicer than the rest of the hotel, as if we weren't even in the same hotel. I will be returning to Toronto again soon and will be booking myself into a different hotel.

I travel a lot for work and fun so I am used to staying in a range of hotels. If you are looking for comfort and that extra touch, this place isn’t for you but if you are looking for something worth your money, comfortable, clean, only spending time there when sleeping/winding down for the evening then yes this place ticks those boxes. The rooms are a little small but not tiny, it’s in the heart of the city so don’t expect a ton of space. Check in was smooth and easy, the rooms and public spaces were clean.

You get what you pay for at this hotel. The rates are some of the lowest compared to other Hilton properties in downtown Toronto, and the parking fees are also very reasonable. The room was very dusty and had a few stray hairs, but overall was reasonably clean. The furnishings in the room were tired and had many nicks and chips. The decor of the lobby and rooms is not the most contemporary. The service was not terrible, yet nobody at the front desk really impressed me or made me feel warm and welcome. The location is good, there is a lot within walking distance. I’m planning to look elsewhere next time I’m in town.

I missed my train due to poor weather and needed shelter from the literal tornado outside. I made a reservation & prepaid over the phone line, but upon arrival, the hotel staff refused me on the grounds that my card showed "chip error." They would not process the card by any other method, and refused to accept me after the telephone agent confirmed she can take payment over the phone. I had to sleep on the street, during a storm, and when I tried taking shelter inside their lobby (because I was wet and shivering) they called the police to escort me out again. The phone staff I spoke with originally were shocked, and lodged a complaint on my behalf. Despite this, the hotel management is continuing to gaslight me, saying they refused me service because of an invalid card or because I was being "rude." Either way, my credit card was accepted online and over the phone, it was only the front desk POS system that apparently had any issues. What gets me the most is the utter lack of human compassion or empathy. I came in asking for shelter from the storm, instead I slept on a wet slab of concrete and was dragged back into the street when I tried to warm up. I'm an executive at a major tech company, I chose this location because I didn't have access to my travel agent's corporate rates for better hotels(it was late, storming, and last minute). The whole situation is confusing to me because it was so aggressively horrible, I still don't comprehend what these guys were thinking. Not sure what advice to give here, but I'd suggest avoiding this location like your life depends on it. Literally.

I usually never write reviews but this is a must. I’m a Hilton diamond member and have stayed at thousands of Hilton properties. This is by far worst Hilton property I’ve ever stayed at. Old and dirty. My room was disgusting. Stains all over furniture. Didn’t dare walk on the floor barefoot. Absolutely no parking. I had to leave and switch hotels after 1 night. Don’t be fooled by online pictures. Just awful

Hotel sits in the heart of Downtown Toronto easy walking. Trolleys are a great way to get around. Hotel staff is very friendly. Breakfast brunch is offered, I choose a regular breakfast and coffee, Nicely prepared had fresh fruit. Price is what I expected for being in the middle of a city. Great experience.

Seems like an older property, but you couldn’t tell by the rooms. The quality of the rooms were outstanding. The breakfast was also very good. The location is centrally located as well within a short walk to the Toronto sign. Public transportation is very close by too. Parking underneath the structure is pretty tight I wouldn’t drive anything larger than a crossover down there. Paid parking, of course as it appears all hotels in Canada are.

The location of the Double Tree by Hitlon hotel near the St Patrick station, shopping, and other landmarks is perfect. I'd consider staying here again because of the location and price. The staff were friendly and professional. We were able to check in to our room a few hours early because of the time of year. The room was nice and clean enough. The water pressure in the shower was perfect! Shampoo, body wash, conditioner, and body lotion are available in the bathroom. Several teas, coffee, and water were available in the room as well. One thing I noticed about the room was some dust which may irritate those with allergies. The hotel has a pool and a fitness center. The fitness center has free weights, one bench, a cable machine, bike, rower, and treadmills. You can easily get a good workout in while staying here. While I didn't use the pool, the pool area was large enough for several people. It's somewhat narrow, but not narrow enough to call it a lane pool.

I had a four night stay at this Double Tree and the one thing that stood out, for me, was the absolute kindness in customer service provided to me by a staff member. I have forgotten the first name but I do remember the tag as being Mr. Green. I called the front desk, he answered, I explained the situation that I had found myself in and he resolved it quickly. I was so grateful for his kindness as without it I do not know what I would have done. Thank you.

Close to a mall, several food shops, grocery stores and subway. A really good place to stay for a short time but it does get very dusty in their rooms, not sure why despite having the windows closed and the exhaust on. The room we got either had too hot/too cold water and the solution that they gave us was to leave the tap open for a few minutes (usually took 5-6 mins) which was a huge waste of water. Otherwise, the service is good. Also didn't like that they used two blankets to sandwich the duvet in between, they always fall off during the night and we are left with a flimsy draw sheet instead of the duvet. I think they should invest in a proper duvet cover.

We booked a suite with a separate bedroom. Not sure if all the the suites are like this, but room was pretty dated with weirdly sparse amount of furniture. For a suite this size, I would have expected a small dining table for two and a coffee table, in addition to the small loveseat and armchair. The thermostats were 80s vintage. Having said that, front desk was super responsive addressing minor issues and breakfast was good. The whole pick up or drop off thing is a bit odd with the restaurant. Either you have room service or you don’t.

Honestly, my first experience at this location and I am disappointed and dissatisfied. First, I was given the keys to the wrong room. I even checked in, into that. Then later at night when I went to the room, the card wasn’t working. I went downstairs only to find out I was given the wrong room. Secondly, my father asked for late check out as complimentary, and he was told on the phone that, that’s fine. The day I checked in, I was confirmed that I will have a late check out as requested. However in the morning, I started getting calls and I was told there’s no late check out. The manager or employer also went to the extend of telling me that he had confirmed with the staff and nobody had offered me a late check out, hence implying that I am lying. Also told me he’ll charge me. To which I told him to go through your previous calls and you’ll have a voice recording confirming that I was given a late check out. Anyways, he gave me the room until 2 without charge. Thirdly, the service was extremely slow. I had to call for fresh towels and a toothpaste twice in 40 mins. The only good thing about this hotel is the location and access to flats rate parking!

We had an amazing experenice staying at this hotel from beginning to end. We stayed 2 nights and everything went smooth. Staff was amazing and very helpful, room was well kept. Hotel was in good location, 2 min walking distance from Eaton Center. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for good service and a clean facility. 100 stars to the staff.

Myself and my partner stayed here in March 2023. We had great experience from start to finish. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Room was nice and comfortable. The location could not be better. There is a tram stop 10 seconds from the hotel and it's no less that 10mins walk from anything you could need like grocery stores, public transport and nice restaurants. will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Toronto

Had an enjoyable 2-night stay. Checked in earlier than their posted check-in time but room was available right away. Free welcome cookies was very appreciated. Room was clean and comfortable. Location is very convenient. Close to transit and many points of interest within walking distance. Parking available on location but not very economical (which is to be expected in this part of town).

Clean room and great location!! Staff were friendly. Breakfast buffet was good, had some nice selection and it changes a little daily too which was nice. Pool area we choose not to use, no windows so kinda dark. Overall we would definitely choose this hotel next time in Toronto again.

Was a great hotel. Very clean and it’s in a good spot in Toronto. All of the staff were amazing, so kind all of them. Rahman was one of the staff members that really made us enjoy our stay. He was fantastic. We will definitely be booking here again the next time we come back.

Everything was perfect, but please instruct any of the clean ladies, like do not open the door of a customer's room anytime. She opened my door during my accommodation 3 times. There is no privacy for that.

Stayed here over the weekend for a concert at Massey hall, location is super convenient with it being walking distance of all types of venues and restaurants. NeNe chicken next door is a must stop! Only negative was one of the towels in the room was ratty and ripped up but other than that the hotel was great and staff were friendly. Rooms were clean and beds comfy!

I booked this hotel very last minute, I love that they have a late check in. Really saved me from the horrors of the prior place I was staying. The room was clean, a couple hairs in the bathroom but other than that not a real issue. The air conditioner has no issues, I think people set it to auto and not off. May want to make a note of that somewhere. Thank you for checking up on via text through out my stay. Stayed here for two evenings and will definitely stay again for future Toronto visits!

I stayed 2 nights here and have no complaints. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, the TV was really large and comfortable to view from the bed. We had a nice view of the city and it is right in the downtown area near tons of restaurants! I would stay here again.

The front desk staff was great, the rooms are clean believe it or not we actually had a halfway decent a few. Parking sucks but that's expected with a hotel located inside a big city. I don't stay at Hilton's any longer so Doubletree it is. Plus they have the cookies! Oh for the record if your car is over 6 feet tall you will be parking down the street around the block.

Had short stay here last week visiting from New York. The front desk was very friendly and helpful, especially the Asian guy who was trying to help checking me in in the middle of the night. There were some miscommunication but it all got resolved and hope that he is fine. The stay was good and pleasant. The welcome cookies is tasty. Don't mind staying here again the next time visiting Toronto.

We stayed at the Double Tree this past weekend. Rooms were very clean. Bathroom was a bit small, but very clean as well. The cleaning staff were so friendly and helpful. They offered complimentary bottled water daily, which was really nice. Location is close to attractions, Yonge & Dundas Square, Eaton Centre, etc. There was a very long line-up for check-in. Took over half an hour, so that was a bit of a downfall. Nice bed and pillows! Overall, a good place to stay!

Everything went perfect until checking out. We were told that we can bring our vehicle out and in like any other place but once we came back our spot was taken and the hotel parking was full. How does a hotel not have enough accommodation for all of their guests? This is a necessity. To make things worse after we told them at check out about our situation they didn’t even consider to reduce the price or charge accordingly. We only had our spot for 1 or 2 hours. They instead fully charged us $45 for the night… ridiculous.

Loved this hotel. Friendly, clean, easily accessible to Nathan Phillips Square, Dundas Square and rogers centre. Within walking distance to tons of attractions. Easy to navigate to and from. Very nice room and very well maintained inside. Will be back!

Absolutely terrible. Way overpriced but worse than cheap hotels. Small room. Didn't clean our room once during our week long stay. We came for a work conference, and because they originally gave us the wrong room they wouldn’t let our organization help cover some of the ridiculosly high prices. The only good thing is the breakfast.

Stay was pleasant. Good view of the downtown. Walkable distance for many restaurants and USA embassy. Have better parking. Food or drinks cost from the management is too expensive.

Staff were excellent and very friendly, they deserve 5 stars. The cookies were amazing. We asked housekeeping for a few extra things like coffee and towels and they brought it quickly. Bed was comfortable. The AC unit was loud but this has been my experience in every hotel. Unfortunately the room felt like like a 2 star hotel. Towels were ratty and scratchy. The toilet paper must have been the cheapest they could find as it felt like sandpaper.

I had a wonderful 4 night stay here. I had maid service every day and the room was clean and modern. The bed was incredibly comfortable I had a fridge and bath tub. Location was right in the heart of everything, so I could easily go downstairs for food, or order something in. The restaurant was quite pricey, so I would recommend getting food elsewhere. The air conditioner was a bit loud, but other than that, I didn't hear any city or street noise from the 16th floor.

This was my first time staying at this property and I was booked in for four nights. Yuya, who was really friendly and professional, checked me into the hotel. (I must add, he's a great man.) The cleanliness of the room, however, disappointed me; it was dusty and the towels were old and tattered! The housekeeping lady was also extremely pleasant, however I'm not sure why this room was so dusty. The carpets in the room and the hallway do require a deep clean!

My stay here for a week was awesome. Had an excellent view, digital key worked perfectly, front desk staff was helpful, but most of all, the breakfast staff was excellent. Vina was so nice and helpful that instead of going out to eat, we ate breakfast here every day to get to talk to her! She is so awesome and absolutely deserves a raise!! So, 5/5 for sure!!

The hotel staff was very friendly and the entire check in process was quick. Other than that the room and bathroom were both very clean, it’s also easy to find as it’s right on the street. If you’re looking for a well priced hotel within a reasonable distance of union station this is a good option

If you’re looking for a relaxing stay this is definitely not the place to come. The place isn’t up the standard it once was. Not to mention upon checking in, the bathroom was dirty - to the point I had to ask house keeping for towels to do it myself. Despite the dirtiness, the room next door was partying, playing loud music despite the time ( I ended up leaving and spending the night at a friends). When calling back to advice the hotel manager of my horrible experience. I was told there’s nothing that he can do. So he advice me to write my review. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else’s. The Chelsea hotel is much more respecting than this place.

I had to stay there for 4 nights during the Christmas of 2021. The receptionists were so nice and friendly. They did their best with everything and they answered all our questions quickly and nicely. They had everything you need in case everything is closed outside, such as Tylenol, soft drinks, water, chips, wrapped food, etc.. The hotel in general is so nice, the Christmas decoration is so Christmasy 😊 I was disappointed during my staying with couple stuff: 1. The bed sheets were not cleaned as they supposed to be in a four star hotel. (Check the picture) 2. There was no room-service due covid, and we had to choose only one day (out of the 5 days we stayed in) to allow the room service people to come in and change the sheets and clean the room, which was a bit annoying. 3. Their breakfast wasn’t open buffet, instead you pay for what you ordered. I wasn’t able to order food/breakfast to my room too! because their room-service wasn’t available at that time.

Me and a few of my friends booked a room for 2 nights $700 my friend was on the phone with the person booking and we where promised access to pool, jacuzzi and sound proof room. She asked multiple times to confirm he said yes each time, so we arrive and they said no to everything we were promised, they refuse to refund us! And the cherry on top was the mirror and dresser had finger prints all over and the bathtub had stains and hair on the edges of the tub Clean the rooms properly its unhygienic we are never coming back here VERY UNHAPPY

The room we reserved was good. On the site the only room that was left was with a roll in shower which we didn’t like. I would have preferred a bathtub shower combo. All in all staff were great at the front desk, room was clean. Next time we would reserve a bigger room without the roll in shower. We have been to 2 star hotels in the past that were similar to this room. Maybe consider adjusting your prices for what you offer. It was a good experience.

Clean rooms, many dining choices and Central location are the pros. Super noisy AC unit that sounds like a vacuum cleaner and runs forever. Couldn't sleep much because of that. I thought it was just my unit, but heard the same vacuum from pretty much all rooms that I walked past. Ancient AC in modern hotel. 😩

The front desk staff were very friendly and did a great job considering how long the line was to check in. The room was very clean. The cleaning staff didn't come around during our stay, unless we asked for a cleaning, which I found to be a nice option. Very good location, so everything we were going to/ wanted to see wasn't far at all. We didn't have to take any public transportation to get to our destinations. We walked everywhere. Great hotel, I would stay again.

The room was nice, some dirt on windows and bathtub but didn't ruin the experience. The man who rung me up charged 50$ for parking and when I brought it up at checkout that's its only 45$ (stated on website) another representative said no such purchase was made. They also don't do complimentary water bottles because as they state "COVID" yet still sell them downstairs which i would think host same covid issue. On top of that there is no where in the building to get ice or water, unless as recommended by the front desk you use the bathtub water.... like really. Overall don't expect amazing customer service as they don't seem interested or concerned.

Nice hotel. Stayed in the Smaller king bed room. Nice room for a very short stay. Only issue was that no one was able to bring up extra pillows or towels after midnight. Was told to pick it up at the front desk. No housekeeping staff at that time. USB ports would be a benefit to have in the room for charging. Other than that, very comfy bed and friendly staff!

If visiting Toronto you want to stay here. It's within walking distance to the CN Tower and the Baseball stadium and there is plenty of food nearby. My stay in Toronto was so enjoyable because of my stay here. The rooms were clean and everything worked well. I will stay here again when I visit Toronto again.

My stay at the Hilton was to be close to Princess Margaret Hospital so I could walk to visit my Dad all week. Here is my rating on the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel... This hotel is lower grade than a Holiday Inn. Maybe because it is in the heart of a huge city and it gets a ton of use. I'm not sure why, but I was quite surprised about this because I thought that the Hilton was an upscale "rich" hotel. Here is a list of reasons why I only gave the Hilton three stars: 1. The toilet roll holder was missing screws so it was hanging on one side (photo attached). 2. There were about seven mold spots around the bathtub edges (photo attached). 3. The plug on the wall at the bedside table was broken. When you pull out your plug, the entire socket and wires come out with it! 4. There was no water in the fridge for guests. 5. We paid in full for our six night stay on Friday. It is now Tuesday morning and there is still a pending charge on my credit card waiting to go through. The entire cost of our six nights was already paid! I'm now waiting to find out if I have to make a call to the Hilton to fight the charge! Also, this has nothing to do with the hotel itself, but shopping and restaurants are slim to none. It is Chinese stores for as far as you can walk in all directions. Except for the Eaton's Center which is good, but absolutely ZERO unique shops anywhere - including none in the mall.

This is a solid 4 star hotel. The only reason I didn't give five is that I could hear the ice machine since it was next to my room. But they checked me in at 11am so I didn't complain about that. I want to give a special shout out to the concierge who helped us out, great guy (Oct 13 afternoon shift).

Perfect location near plenty of restaurants and the downtown area. The room, lobby, fitness center, and all the other amenities are fantastic, clean, spacious, and well-kept. I appreciated the double sink, bathtub, and shower. There was a changing room table as well for guests with babies. The front desk staff were friendly and offered us fresh cookies when we checked in. Definitely recommend staying here!

This hotel is very clean and the staff are all so friendly. Rooms are very clean with very comfortable beds. The hotel is close walking distance to any of the hospitals as well as any of the popular sight seeing locations you might want to visit. The food and staff in the Hemisphere Restaurant are also worthy of five stars!

Thank you I cannot tell you how much your kindness and thoughtfulness made my stay so much more enjoyable.

Upon arrival I received a warm cookie, that really added a nice touch! The staff were helpful and polite. The lobby was clean and same with the room. The hotel gives you the option of a room fob or mobile access with Hilton hotel app. Note: you can't use both fob and app, once activated on the app, the room fob becomes deactivated. I was on the 12th floor, number 1205. It didn't have much of a view, but being down town, your only options are looking at other condos or businesses nearby unless your on a high floor, then maybe you can see Lake Ontario. The bed was comfortable and most importantly, clean. I enjoyed the bathroom products and the fact that the hotel uses reusable shampoo, condition, soap and lotion dispensers, was a big plus for me. You are also provided with soap bars, two water bottles, coffee and tea in the room. I only used the pool once. It was quite outdated and the chlorine levels were way too high for my skin. There was a small gym, adequate for a small work out. Highly recommend the hotel update there gym and pool area. More light would make it feel more inviting and a little less chlorine. I was staying at the hotel to be close to Toronto General Hospital. It was a 5 minute walk. Definitely close enough for me. The parking is $45 a night, a little too expensive for me. If your visiting or working at the hospital, I'd recommend parking at 201 Elizabeth Street, as it's much more affordable. All in all, a good stay. I would recommend if your needing to stay down town, as the hotel is easily accessible to the TTC or you can walk most places.

When checking in, the gentleman helping us was very short and dry. Looked like he didnt want to bother helping us check in. He gave us no details on anything. Our first room was not the size we had initially reserved and was extremely dusty with weird black marks all over the furniture. We called down and someone came up to see what we were talking about. Maybe they thought we weren't being dishonest I'm not sure....went down for a second check in and the lady was extremely helpful. She upgraded our room and provided us details on our stay and what not. She was much more pleasurable then the gentleman. This is usually my go to hotel chain since I am a Hilton honors member and I'm not entirely sure if I will return to this specific location. Good were great, per usual 👏

My family and I stayed at this hotel during our vacation to Toronto and we had the best time, mostly due to how great our experience at the hotel was. We were there for 6 nights- we used the laundry room, pool, restaurant, and the front desk, all without any incidents or negative experiences. Our room was clean and comfortable. We used the parking garage daily and never had any issues finding a spot close to an elevator. Also the location is fantastic and close walking distance to so many things! Most of all the front desk employees were FANTASTIC. We used the front desk often, from purchasing snacks, to getting cash for the laundry, and even picking up/dropping off baby equipment (that we rented from a third party, but the desk handled everything wonderfully). We never felt like an annoyance, as everyone always seemed genuinely happy to assist in any way they could. I would DEFINITELY stay here again, and this stay solidified me as a Hilton hotel-goer for life!

A great place to stay within walking distance of many different amenities. The staff are friendly and super helpful, don't hesitate to ask them anything. Check-in is completed with a warm cookie, which is a nice little bonus. My only concern is that the parking garage is extremely tight but given the location that is not surprising. I've stayed here multiple times in the last year and have yet to have a negative experience, which is hard to come by in the hospitality industry especially given the current staffing issues.

I have booked a suite for me and 2 friends for 2 nights (bill of almost CA$ 1,500). The expectation was to have a relaxing weekend but I ended up spending the worst weekend of my holidays because of the POOR level of hygiene of the room(s) (urine stains on the mattresses and stained bed sheets) and the very poor way of handling the situation by the staff. Here are the details and pictures... I was supposed to sleep in the sofa bed. When I came back in the evening in the room I was already surprised to see that the sofa bed was not made and no instructions were given on where to find all the bed sheets etc. When opening the sofa bed I was disgusted by seeing two big stains in the mattress. They looked like urine (you can see attached the video/pictures). When calling the reception I was again upset by the lack of proactiveness in dealing with an obvious situation. Eventually I was given a new room (807). The morning after, before going for breakfast I checked the sofa bed of the new room where I was supposed to sleep for the second night and again I was disgusted to see stains on the bed sheets and on the mattress (see pictures). The hotel solution has been to give me a rubbish single rolling bed to sleep (see the picture!). Is this the way of treating a customer? I don't think so! Maybe in a hostel for 50$ per night! Overall I am really concerned by the level of hygiene of the hotel and the lack of proactiveness in handling the situation. I am a regular Hilton customer (gold member) and I was really not expecting this from such a respectable hotel chain. After a lot of arguing I paid only half of one night but I should have expected more respect and care by the staff. I am seriously disgusted and upset. The bottom line is: check the mattress before sleeping (you can find unpleasant surprises) and avoid this hotel if you can

I had an amazing stay here while I’m exploring and enjoying Toronto for the first time. The customer service experience were amazing, they are very friendly and approachable. The groomers were nice and helpful as well regarding about what you need to be replaced and replenished. The location itself is perfect too, cause it’s only 5mins walk to the mall and to the downtown area. Foods and restaurants were also surrounded by this hotel. Recommending it? Yes ❗️❗️

We’ve spent one night here and so far we love it. Henry checked us in & he was so warm and welcoming. The rooms are clean & the coffee at breakfast is awesome (I’m very picky about both). I would definitely recommend this double tree to others who are looking for a stress free stay. It is a bit pricier & breakfast is 35 dollars per person, but worth it.

It was a great stay. It was cozy and very comfortable. The only concern is there was no heat in our first room and the gentleman couldn't do anything about it at first. They need a manager at night with the 24hr front desk because the gentleman almost couldn't get us another king room and we almost got downgraded for the same price. He ending up accommodating us and gave us free parking as an apology. Great service.

Staff was very kind and responsive. Room was clean and well kept. They had missed getting towels set up in our room but that was quickly resolved. Very good attitude. Hotel street was under construction so it was noisy. Location was OK for families, but not great. Very close to the subway and underground walking system and shopping. Everything was accessible via subway and that was clean too. Room was a little tight but we did have 2 adults and 2 older children… so that’s to be expected.

It was fine. For what you get it is very pricey...$45 for parking. Whole block is under construction so can be a hassle getting in and out. Rooms are tiny and breakfast/coffee are very pricey. Nothing free except plastic bottles of water and a welcome cookie. Overall it was comfortable. Staff was quick to accommodate when we asked for extra blankets. They would not provide a cot... Said fire hazard, although our room definitely had space to have one and move around it. Oh well.

I’d actually give 4.5 if I could Staff was so friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, great location and good value for money. There was some construction work outside ( this was July) but did not hinder anything in terms of getting in or out and it was very quiet at night no noise at all from outside or from hallways during the night. Breakfast restaurant downstairs available. I Would recommend.

I am reporting an incident involving a manager(!!) named Matt who was acting extremely rude and engaged in a shouting match(!!) with my wife who was at the hotel to attend to a swimming lesson at the hotel pool (which was paid for, and the Hotel hosted it - so she had every right to be there!) Although she technically wasn't a hotel "guest", she still indirectly paid the hotel through Propel for the right to have the swimming lesson there (since hotel pools are often underused). Apparently they don't consider that people can be guests in the future... The manager even threatened to trespass her from future lessons - she did nothing wrong. My wife was not acting belligerently in any way shape or form. She made an honest mistake in not strictly following protocol in obtaining pool access for her lesson which in no way justified the reaction by the said manager. This falls well below the mark of any decent person, let alone a hotel manager - and arguably someone who conducts themselves in this manner would have a very short career in hospitality. I'm a frequent hotel guest as a business traveler -- looks like I'll be staying with Marriott instead going forward. I understand that Matt or the hotel might try to embellish some details in his response here - but we stand behind our story here. Hotel management owes an apology for the incident. If you have issues with having swimming lessons at your pool, may I suggest that you cancel your agreement with Propel going forward.
