I have stayed at the Marriott Eaton Centre over 50 times. I hosted a four day conference with over 100 attendees on the property. I am a Marriott Ambassador Elite Member. When my wallet and passport were stolen, I was stranded at the hotel for nearly two weeks in September as I waited on a replacement drivers license from the State of Florida to leave the country. I had no ID so I couldn’t check in to another hotel. It’s customary during these types of personal emergencies for the hotel to continue charging the guest the original rate they checked in under. Not at the Marriott Eaton Centre. The management thanked me for all the business I’ve given them by tripling the rate I checked in under for a standard room that was oddly the same exact price as their hospitality suite. When I needed them the most, they price gouged. When I had to cancel a separate trip because I still hadn’t received my new passport and was unable to travel, they would not waive the charge for the room. The management at Marriott Eaton Centre does not care about their guests whatsoever. It’s a nice enough hotel with a great location, but steer clear of this place as they will nickel and dime you until your bank account is empty. Sadly, the Marriott brand tolerates the mismanagement and poor treatment, which brings to question the values of the world’s largest hotel chain.

A flagship restaurant with some good people but some processes that you should not trust and it is disturbing! Our recent story that ruined our night We had a disturbing experience. We had been visiting our daughter who is in hospital for a while and decided to stay over at your hotel to relax and have a nice valentines dinner. Instead we got screwed. We gave 3 hours notice when we checked in and were assured a great dinner. Instead we were seated on the lobby side rather than a private side and then ordered and never got the food although those around us all did. We were told the kitchen was backed up but food would be out in a couple minutes. 25 minutes later still no food but the tables around us all got theirs. Nice relaxing valentines dinner right? so we left and had a lousy night. We were apologised to by Natalia the manager and she came to our room with wine and we got the food in containers but it was Luke warm and unappetizing and we threw it out and the night was wrecked. I am an elite member and have stayed in Marriott hotels around the world. This was unacceptable and disturbing! This is a flagship hotel and it acted like a wreck. And I doubt anyone even reads this!!

Very nice hotel and is right in the middle of downtown. A few minute walk to Yonge, CF Toronto Eaton Centre, and subway and streetcar lines. All of the staff were very warm and welcoming; always greeted with a smile and made sure your needs were attended. What stood out for me particularly was the daily housekeeping. Housekeepers do such an amazing job and every time I come back to my unit after a long day of touring the city, I’m met with fresh sets of towels and made up bed. Breakfast buffet was also awesome, I opted for included breakfast otherwise it’s $37+tax for those who don’t. Swimming pool/jacuzzi area isn’t the best I’ve been to, but it still allowed me to relax and have fun. Room rates are reasonable and fair as you get top notch service. I will definitely come back here in the future.

Loved it! I was there for one night and I loved everything about this hotel. The staff was so friendly and accommodating from when I checked in until when I checked out. The location, you can't get better than being in the heart of downtown. With the Eaton Centre around the corner plus a variety of restaurants, movie theater, it's such a great spot! My room was spacious, the bed was so comfortable and I enjoyed the walk in shower. The only thing I wish was that room service was served the old fashion way with plates and real cutlery instead of it coming in a take out bag. However, I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

I have never had such incredible service at any hotel I've been to. Everybody was very friendly and helpful without feeling too stuffy either. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. Location is excellent as well. I also felt very safe here, which is important. As a female smoker, I'm often outside alone which can feel uncomfortable depending on where you are. Here, the smoking section was across from valet as well as visible to the front desk. There comfortable chairs to sit with my morning coffee as well. All in all, my partner and I have already decided this will be were we stay anytime we're in the area.

I’ve stayed here a few times for work and it’s got a convenient location to the financial district. The rooms are older but updated. Beds are comfy. Not great noise cancelling to the hallway so I recommend earplugs.

The service and food are excellent! However, the facility and business model are not very impressed. The hair producs and body wash are mounted on the wall with double sided type which fell in the middle of the night. Almost though the room was haunted. We pay lot of money for the boardroom for business meeting. No one info us there is scheduled fire drill during the meeting. We were informed on the day we check in. Also, the day before the check in date, we were informed the parking rate are higher due to the renovation. If we have know all these in advance, we would different decisions.

I don't like the double bed deal. One king size bed would have been more appropriate for me and my wife. But it's clean and the staff is super cool.

My family choose this hotel for a special long 6 week stay in the beginning when our Son was admitted into Sick Kids. We have always rebooked for short city stays. Our last stay was to celebrate his birthday, and they made very special arrangements to enable a very unique and special birthday. Thank you for the special Raptors gift 🎁 The rooms are always king sized, with great comfortable beds and amenities that are comforting. Amazing parking rates, and location! What makes this place unique is a great friendly staff, with attention to details. Once again thank you for making our stay special, and you’ll definitely see us again!

It was the staff for me. They also gave me a great room. The check in was so friendly and helpful. She was very kind and it made me feel really welcome. The woman running the elite lounge at breakfast was so nice and inviting. She's really doing a wonderful job and I really wanted to point that out. I had never stayed here before but it was a short, yet really nice experience. I am sorry I did not catch their names. I stay in Toronto often and I would choose this hotel again for sure :)

We loved staying at the Marriott Downtown at CF Toronto Eaton Centre We stayed for 13 nights and from the first second that we arrived we found all the staff to be friendly, courteous and helpful. The hotel is centrally located, you can park in the adjacent parking lot. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and came with a small refrigerator and safe. The lounge was great, was open until 10pm, and was stocked with bottles of water, soda, juice and a variety of snacks. The staff manning the lounge, specifically Anna, were always friendly and helpful. We had a great time staying at this hotel and regretted having to leave at the end of our stay. We very highly recommend this hotel.

Very friendly service and great location. Rooms can still be de-odorized before giving it to the guests. Same problem with towels also. But apart from that, it’s a great hotel to stay, being close to C F Eaton Centre

terrible experience. planned 6 months in advanced. my room wasnt even ready. managers were rude, not only to me but to other guests. i witnessed all hell break loose in the lobby when the supervisor carlos made expletive comments about another mans wife. location is convenient , its even a fairly clean hotel. but the service, the stay, and the experience were absolute 0s. never staying here again.

When people from our room block got to the hotel, from the start it was a mess. Rooms were messed up, people who requested 1 bed received 2, people who requested 2 beds only got one. I was told the front desk staff would be in charge of this and it was based on availability, which I get but on the reservation they would be told it was one room, getting there is was a whole different room. One room even flooded, ruining the guest who was staying in there's laptop and just questioned them and never made it right. Carlos who worked front desk, a name I clearly remember, was very rude to someone traveling with us. I never experienced such a rude person at a hotel in my life. It is also clear that different departments do not communicate well. We requested high level rooms, got the 5th floor. Was told the hold during check in was something completely different, "a small amount" vs when we got there it ended up being the whole stay on a hold. We were also told that when rooms were ready, they would be calling us- and I'm pretty sure I was the only person that received a call out of the 9 rooms we had. Very disappointing, location here is great for downtown life but the service once there makes you never want to come back.

This hotel is located at a very convenient location right in down town Toronto. I was there recently for a conference and found the rooms are very spacious, clean and quiet. Staff was very friendly and professional. I had their App downloaded which supposed to be able to use as the room key. It worked some times but not all the time. I had the plastic key with me so did not run in to issues.

I've stayed here about 15 times in the past 7 years, and it used to be amazing but the current rates are about 350 plus a night and for that much the rooms are really starting to show their age. A remodel is due or they need to drop the prices of the room. The decline in quality here is hard to ignore. Carpet was dirty, furniture was damaged, towels are very thin and not soft, the toilet paper dispenser was broken, conditioner dispenser fallen off the wall and just sitting in the shower. There is not enough staff working the desk during the busy check in times, causing large lines. I was in a much smaller Marriott the week prior and they always had more staff working than this location does. I asked for service a few times and it never arrived. I had to keep asking both days over and over, eventually I just spoked to housekeeping directly who told me they never got the messages. The staff is hard working, not putting the blame on them. If you are going to charge these rates, invest the money back into the rooms. If not, there are better hotels in the city for the same rates, which I think I am going to begin to chose next time.

Was put up at this hotel during a conference this May. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel's location is ideal in terms of being right downtown, and its proximity to the Eaton Centre was a definite plus. Overall, a gorgeous spot. Definitely on the pricier side, but a price I believe is justified for the quality of the hotel, its amenities, its location, and its lovely staff.

Just checked in at Marriott downtown Toronto Eaton centre. It was “wow” starting from location to check in (a breeze and very pleasant experience thanks to Lead guest agent Ishita Patel). We have travelled from Atlanta and we’re tired but immediately felt fresh and homely thanks to welcome. Looking forward to a wonderful stay and excited about it. Love the rooms and their ambience ! The amenities are absolutely first class ! Enjoying the stay from go ! Well done Marriott downtown CF Toronto ! You have taken our hearts ! Thanks 🙏

Close to the Eaton Centre and Dundas Square. It was a convenient option for staying downtown. Anything we needed was a short walk away. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The room served our needs and is always a future option. Enjoy!

I am here to pick up friends that are staying at this hotel, I came from Barrie and wanted to use the facilities. A guy at the reception refused to allow me to use it. I told him that I have come here before and had no problems, why today? His response is that it wasn’t him, management made that decision and only for guests staying are allowed in. I fail to understand that logic but have accepted, and now waiting for my friends to descend so I can go in and use their key. Kind of silly I would say. I’m any case if this is the new reality, be rest assured that I will direct my friends to another chain.

Service this Marriott across from the New City Hall was fantastic. I could spend the whole day in line just to see Libby. The food was incredibly good. We walked to many of the nearby attractions. I had a lovely time here!

If you are coming to Eaton Center, Dundas Square, Nathan Phillips Square, or even the City Hall then this location is the perfect one. From my experience, this hotel is very expensive for what it's offering. There was a line-up for check-in and it was only one staff at the front desk. My room was full of dust and the towels were dirty. Not mentioning how noisy it was. Every time someone opens their room door in the hallway sounds like someone opening my door. The swimming pool is so small and dirty. I'm just disappointed with this experience.

The most Bonvoy-friendly Marriot on our trip to Canada in August. Their Bonvoy lounge is well-stocked throughout the day with snacks and tasty hot finger foods at meal times. There is a great selection of juices, soft drinks, even beers in their minibars. Bonvoy lounge benefits here include full access to the excellent breakfast next to the lounge with omelette table, a great selection of eggs, meats and fruits. The lounge attendants were friendly and warm. Checkout time at 4 pm was really helpful to family travelers like us. We even got upgraded to a small suite upon inquiry. It's next to the Eaton center, a major shopping center with great shops and a massive underground eatery offering various kinds of foods, Chinese, Indian, Mediterranean, Mexican and etc. Services were incredible throughout our stay. We left our passports in the safe in the room by mistake after we checked out. They quickly located them and held for us while we drove back to pick them up. Everyone of our family had a lovely stay there and remembers the hotel fondly.

Hands down, THE BEST Marriott I've stayed over the past 12 years!! (For reference, I'm a Lifetime Titanium Elite member so I've stayed at a LOT of Marriott properties). What sets this hotel apart is the staff. Many Marriott hotels have beautiful rooms, great views, and even nice restaurants but the service and "meh, I could care less" attitude of the staff quickly turn what could be a "10" (perfect rating) hotel into a "6" or "7." This property has had staff that have been with the property for over 20 years!! These people truly care about their customers. From Abdul in the Trios restaurant (he makes THE BEST lattes, remembers your order even if you only come to the hotel a few times a year), Ana in the Concierge Lounge (the sweetest lady ever), to the front desk staff (Lily took care of me on my most recent stay), MaryVic (server in the Trios hotel - super sweet!), David (another server - great service!), this hotel is a home away from home for me. My most recent stay (Sep 2021) was my first stay since Dec 2019 (before COVID). I was thrilled to see all the familiar faces return to work and be so thankful for to be back. You can't teach people how to be genuinely nice and care for their customers. As a market research professional and someone who works in the Customer Experience (CX) industry, I am just blown away by the CX at this hotel. It is second to none. As for what you would hope to get in a great hotel, you will find it here - spacious rooms, comfortable beds, luxurious bathrooms, streaming TV service, healthy and tasty breakfast options, huge gym with everything you need and of course, location, location, location - it's near everything! The hotel went above and beyond with cleaning and COVID precautions so I felt totally safe. Also, I've found during COVID that some Marriott properties are using COVID as an excuse. They've closed their Concierge Lounges and are offering Elite members a $10 breakfast voucher. We all know that $10 doesn't cover breakfast at a nice hotel. The Marriott Eaton Centre doesn't "nickel and dime" their Elite guests - breakfast was totally free, no questions asked. This property is a bit pricier than some other nearby options but you truly get what you pay for. I highly recommend this hotel!!

We loved our stay. Our room was spacious and laid out well. The bed was very comfortable and the couch was a nice addition. The room was extremely clean and I appreciated the extra sanitizing wipe for our own additional wipe down. Everyone we dealt with was extremely kind and professional and always asked what they could do to assist us. My only critique is that we could hear literally everything happening in the hallway. Thankfully, our neighbours were pretty good after midnight but it could be a problem under different circumstances.

Spacious room, very clean and comfortable. Big bathroom with a rain shower which was nice. Room also had a large sectional couch and big TV. Coffee and tea in the room for the morning. Very quiet hotel, nice restaurant as well. We will definitely stay again next time in Toronto.

Rude, literally told the staff I got my period and I needed go use their washroom and they said it’s not their problem. The rude response was a man who said that. I happened to be close to the Marriott and I had this emergency issue. If it was a regular day for me I would have gone to a coffee shop instead. Anyways… My message to Marriott: You’re welcome for being a woman and with the ability to provide children to society.

2 Stars because of value and price. Do your due diligence before you book. I paid quite a bit for my room, 3 nights at $374 CAD, and I had a “discounted rate” because of a conference I attended. However, other sites quote prices for around $200 CAD a night. That rate is much more reasonable, and in line with the overall quality of the hotel. Good experience overall, though.

Location is excellent and the staff here are extremely friendly. Super helpful, always has a simple and just ready to help. The room I got was fairly large, but its definitely showing its age. Lots of stuff needs to be replaced. You can tell they tried to remodel, but it shows. The paint is trying to cover up a lot of things, the towels are old, the furniture is getting old. The rooms are clean though, so that's a plus. The bed and pillow were AMAZING. I like a firm mattress and pillow and this is the first time a hotel has delivered. Lots of unhoused folks around the back side of the hotel, leading towards the mall.

This hotel was wonderful! I told my husband that this was probably one of our best hotel experiences in quite awhile. I used to be Hilton loyal but I'm a Marriott convert after my last 2 Marriott stays! The room was huge! The only negatives were that our view was blocked by the TV/dresser making opening/closing the curtains a pain. Check in was a breeze, the lobby was always busy, and there were staff situated through the lobby for when you had a question. We did not have much interaction with staff outside of check in and check out but they seemed friendly enough. I loved that there were multiple entrances/exits that went to different parts of the square the hotel sits in. You can go right through Trinity Square to the mall, a short trip from the hotel! The room smelled clean which is a huge deal for me (as a lot of rooms have a stale smell when you first enter). The shower head was amazing! (Literally, I stayed in the shower like 30 minutes) For future trips to Toronto, I will definitely stick with Marriott Downtown at CF Toronto Eaton Centre!

AWFUL! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Such rude treatment from the hotel staff and managers. My friend is very sick she has a chronic disease and we booked the hotel for the weekend to try and uplift her mood. They ended up causing a bunch of problems as there was issues from the third party site we booked from, but that’s not our fault! The manager was so rude he wasted 3 hours of our time and everyone kept telling us something differently. Such a waste of time so disappointing from a well known hotel. Never going back. They also kept making comments about our lack of speaking English. So rude and racist!

  • 4/5 Paula R. 4 months ago on Google
Location is excellent, room was very clean and comfortable. However, as many others have stated the towels are simply horrible. With so many complaints I am wondering why this hasn’t been addressed. I would be embarrassed if people stayed at my own home if my towels looked and felt like that. This would be my only suggestion - change out all the towels!! Other than this our stay was enjoyed - all employees were very respectful and very professional.

I stayed here with a friend of mine. The staff are very friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. One of the managers, Josh was the pure definition of what hospitality is meant to be. I hope that he is well- recognized within the team. He always has a bright smile, goes above and beyond.Natalia as well spent some time showing me around which was really nice.

Love the location and when you get there you will be served by door/bell person like Alex very friendly and helpful which made all our tiredness from long trip to eased. At the front desk definitely the hotel must put more agents, you see empty counter and the lineup to check in way big you will tell the management must work on putting more employees. Remember when guest check in they need your services not your beds. Love the 🏋️‍♀️ love the swimming pool very clean too.

The place to stay if you’re in town for Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Right next to the finish chute and very close to the start line. Complimentary Gatorade and bananas for race participants. Very friendly staff. Huge, clean room. Traffic is a bit hectic, recommend taking the train.

We were one of the exhibitors during the Ontario Anesthesia Meeting on October 27 and 28, 2023 held at the Trinity Ballroom and Foyer. The hotel crew who prepared the meals (breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon breaks, welcome reception) provided really great service and were all very polite, friendly and accommodating. Special mention and thanks to Dante who gave us a VIP treatment during the Welcome Reception and was such an absolute pleasure to talk to. It was a great experience overall.

Super convenient location, close to most things, easy to access location by car and walking downtown. Rooms were alright, below average compared to other Marriotts I’ve stayed at, bathroom wasn’t super clean and the AC was non existent. Very dim lighting and ice/vending machines were not working on my floor. Most of the staff were super nice but one of them in particular was super careless and didn’t really care about their customers. Lots of other options in Toronto Marriott and not Marriott, I would suggest checking another property before booking this one.

Clean and comfortable beds, nice location. Be prepared for surprises, we met extremely friendly and courteous staff and a cold one. Pool access requires a dedicated card from the reception but when you ask they may not have it available even there’s only one family’s using it. Better call before you heading to them.

Clean, quiet, and relatively inexpensive ($140/ night) for Single King bed. It's an average hotel room, with nothing much to get excited about, but nothing to be disappointed about, (other than photos of my booked room showing a balcony). Apparently there is a nice gym and pool, but......COVID!

I cannot say enough about this hotel. The rooms are spacious and upgraded, the public space is the same. Beautiful fireplace in the lounge area great for a glass of wine or coffee in the morning. More importantly then all that though is the staff...incredibly friendly, helpful and seem genuinely glad to have you as a guest. I have stayed there several times and it is my go to hotel in Toronto now. The location is ideal as well. Just book it...you will not be disappointed.

Clean with fast and reliable internet, masks are required with hand sanitizer stations in all high traffic places. Can't like this more as a business traveller during COVID-19. There are also tons of take out options in Eaton Center which is right next door. I will definitely come back if I am back in town.

We loved the room and the staff were really nice so I would highly recommend them ....also the location is very convenient. I would recommend checking out rates that you might qualify for....we booked using the CAA rates and they included self-parking (normally $40) so overall it was a good deal.

Love this Marriott. Great Exec Lounge next to the restaurant and the breakfast is fantastic. Very centrally located with a nice workout room on the top floor. Left my blazer there and there were super helpful in sending it to me. My go to place in Toronto!

Great experience! Staff was exceptional! Restaurant ambiance and lobby/lounge area with fireplace was nice for a glass of wine. We love the proximity to Eaton's Centre (literally 30 seconds outside door to door). Only small comment on a personal note would be a few gluten free options on restaurant menu. They were able to accommodate, which filled my belly, but could have a few options without much effort.

Excellent service from check in to check out. Great location. Rooms are well appointed and clean. Quiet hotel so we could relax. It's also reasonably priced for being in the core of downtown. Loved that our rate included self park, which helps in downtown Toronto! Close to shopping, public transportation and restaurants. You cannot go wrong staying here. Will definitely go back.

Really enjoyed my stay. Hotel is a great location. Walking distance to all the attractions and plenty of eateries. Room was very clean and ready well before check in. Loved the pillow spray left on the nightstand- it worked wonders. Very cozy bed. You will get great sleep.

We stay here ALL the time. Hotel is excellent value for the money. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is friendly and attentive. Restaurant is a hidden gem, with a small menu but executed perfectly. And the servers! David, Habib, and Scott are as good as it gets! We actually prefer dining there than the many very good options close by. Great experience. We'll be back soon.

This was our first vacation since Jan 2020 due to covid restrictions. We had an excellent time at this property. Staff was super friendly and helpful in every way possible. Charles at the front desk was super efficient at helping us with an upgrade to a beautiful room overlooking onto a historic cathedral. Anna in concierge was very hospitable and attentive to everyone’s needs. Adrienne was making our eggs at the omelette station during breakfast. She was fast at getting the cooked just right with a smile. We really looked forward to seeing her every morning. The restaurant had really delicious food served hot and fresh. Wait staff was very attentive. We left a bag of mall purchases in the lobby when we left and a nice Loss prevention employee found it and took all our calls in regards to getting it sent to us. He was very detailed in explaining how it worked and the expense. We ended up not getting it sent to us due to international FedEx fees but the fact he was just a phone call away and picked up the calls every time vs voice mail was very much appreciated. This property is excellent in all regards. Cleanliness, excellent and polite staff, ease and safeness of parking, food choices and conveniences are all 10!

Make sure to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your resort. This site will compare hundreds of booking web sites and typically will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is one of the best in the area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure will love it I'm sure! One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had! The staff was incredibly helpful, accommodating and welcoming. The rooms were clean and modern, which was perfect to relax in after a long day of business meetings. The best part of our stay had to be the happy hour! Amazing cuisine at reasonable prices.

I absolutely loved my too short of a stay in this wonderful hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable, the food in the hotel (pancakes with maple syrup especially) was outstanding and everyone was just really kind. I want to thank an employee, Louiee (if I got his name right), for helping us with our luggage with a big smile on his face. It made me feel very welcome. One thing to note however: the water boiler in the room does not stop until it's water reservoir is empty, so be careful!

We had a wonderful stay at this Marriott location! Check in was seamless (thank you for that Charles!) , safe parking , helpful front desk , clean room, no noise and of course the pool was nice and warm ! Another great perk is the mall is literally a 30 second walk out the hotel door so shopping was convenient!! I have a work trip coming up again shortly and will be choosing to stay here again! *For reference I also felt very safe. You can’t enter this building without a key and even their washroom in lobby requires a key. My car was also in underground locked parking. *Would like to again thank Charles at front desk , their LiveChat system for questions and the concierge who is very professional and made you feel at home!

We were one of the many families stranded at the TO airport Dec 23rd . We were able to book a room at this location easily and I have to say that the staff was absolutely amazing. Best service by far! The rooms were spacious , clean food was excellent. Despite being stressed and stranded this establishment made our stay in Toronto enjoyable. Thank you! Chantal L Calgary

Top notch Marriot property combined with amazing service, especially front desk. Lesley, at check-in, was very welcoming and nice. Room was clean, spacious... Bathroom was super clean. So nice to walk into a hotel like this after a long drive. And the location can't be beat.

Great staff (very friendly and responsive in request from the mobile app) Titanium members gets an auto upgrade so really great service. Central location next to the Eaton Centre. Elite lounge is open 11am-7pm due to pandemic hours but great service by lounge attendants.

Had the worst experience. Service is terrible and slow. Required assistance with TV remote and room necessities/ amenities. After multiple follow ups and long wait times they provided the needed supplies. Another incident was the Reservation made which clearly stated breakfast included for all guests and somehow they decided to drop out guests from the breakfast reservation stating only 2 adults and 2 children under 12 are allowed. No where on the reservation indicates this clause. The front desk mentioned that they had experienced the same incident multiple times and nothing was done about it. Very poor professionalism in a huge establishment such as this. Little did we realize more issues were on the way. Since this stay was a gift, after we checked out payment was charged onto the wrong card. Had to call them multiple times and sort out this issue. Overall the stay was unpleasant and service needs to be improved. Additionally, what I have learned is they will sent a survey request to guests who had no complains and these are the only ones that they post on their website. Guests who have had complaints will not be sent the survey request since they are aware that they will receive a zero star if I must state!
