A great motel. Located in the city and the rooms are large. Price-performance perfect. Of course it's not a Hilton. Breakfast is delicious. You can eat in a small breakfast room. You can walk to the CN Tower in just a few minutes....

We drove in on a Friday evening for a extended weekend stay. Check-in went smoothly and staff was helpful. Hotel parking is good price (12$CAD a night) and it wasn't hard to find. Problem began at 3:30am - the hotel attached to a older shopping mall and that shopping mall has a faulty fire alarm system, it went off in the middle of the night. Waking up to a fire alarm blasting it's not a fun time, especially when you find out it was a false alarm. Then it went off at 4:50am - also false alarm. Then it went off at 7:30am. All the guests (us included) were very upset and went to have a talk with the manager. She wouldn't budge - no refunds policy. We were tired for the whole Saturday (no sleep does that) and went to bed at night hoping the alarm wasn't going to go off again. It didn't for the rest of the stay. Other than the alarm issue - which apparently is a RECURRING issue (As per other google reviews) - it's an OK hotel.

Nightmare stay!! We were woken up every couple hours, about 4 times overnight by a LOUD fire alarm speaker in our room, which remained constant for a long time. It sounded like the had the microphone on and heard people talking, with this consistent clicking sound. After the second alarm went off a fireman explained the fire system had frozen over. Talking to the front desk, they said there was nothing they could do however a gentlemen working in AV said there absolutely was a way to turn off the speakers in everyone’s room. They just said the manager would be back on Monday (this is Friday night) and would send us an email. Unbelievable nobody came to fix this issue and all the guests got zero sleep. This isn’t a cheap place either! Worst night of my life. Very bad/absent customer service. No reduction in price or refund. Like what the actual kind of place is this?

My experience at the Super 8 hotel was excellent. My friends and I stayed here a year ago and we had a great experience then which brought us back again. The price is very reasonable for downtown and the rooms are very modern, clean and spacious. My friends and I got upgraded to an even larger room and the customer service was awesome. Overall fantastic experience, will definitely stay again.

If your looking for luxury or a 4 star rated hotel this is not the place to visit. It's in an excellent location, fairly clean, with somewhat comfortable beds. Best of all it's reasonably priced! However, when we went the elevators in the parking lot next door were shut down and the escalators to get through the mall to the hotel were shut down as well. The only way to access the hotel is via stairs or elevator so just be aware if you are going with someone who needs accessibility accommodations. The front desk people were also not very helpful.

Room was spacious (2 beds) and clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It’s located not to far from megabus station (~1.3km). Tons of very delicious Chinese restaurants. Location of the hotel is on top of a mall. Entrance is on the side and located on the 3rd floor. Would come and stay again.

I like the hotel. But I can't give it more than a 3 star. The elevator needs very much an overhaul. The breakfast is very small and basic. (What u would expect from Super 8). The staff was very polite. The room was a nice size. The TV was not very clear. Every channel was like trying to see through a snow storm. The shower had almost no water pressure. And the shower head was leaking everywhere. But I love the location of the hotel. Would I stay here again.. yes

I actually never stayed the night here but have gone through there a few times. It's not the nicest hotel. It's just 'nice enough', from what I can tell. They have a small eating area with a coffee machine, where it seems meals wouldn't consist of much more than small pastries, and fruit trays. I'm not sure what the charge here per night but I do know there are other options in the area that a probably competitive in price. The unique feature of this hotel though is that it is in the middle of Chinatown and I don't think there are many other options that offer that specific feature

I was impressed. Great customer service! Great room. Will definetly book there again. Its right inside the mall but it has it's own elevator and entrance so you can come and go as you please even when the mall is closed. The room was really really clean. Breakfast was also good. They deliver the national post to your bedroom door in the morning ! Nice you touch. Parking is an extra 12 $ but it's underground and very safe.

Stayed for a week for a nearby conference (the university is conveniently located straight north on Spadina, and you can either take the 510 tram which runs every few minutes with a stop right in front of the hotel, or you can just walk). Lots of delicious restaurants nearby. Bright and active street at night, so I always felt safe walking to and from the hotel after hours. I arrived several hours early for check-in but they took great care of me with excellent unlimited free coffee, free wifi, and an expedited check-in two hours before the scheduled time. Lots of sofas and tables to lounge or work at during the day or at night. Calming fountain in the bright lobby and a nice view of the bustling street below. Extremely professional and competent staff at the front desk (I met several of them during my stay). They have friendly employees who constantly clean up and assist throughout the entire 6-10am breakfast shift so nothing runs out and everyone can get help making waffles, etc. Newspapers are delivered to every door before breakfast and the news is playing in the breakfast room. The room was large with a big bathroom and huge windows with excellent curtains. I was thrilled with the hotel, and it was a great price, especially considering the high quality of the place.

Great price, spacious rooms, discounted parking. The hotel was located above a little mall with very friendly staff, the rooms were clean and had a modern feel with lots of room, there was even a wall dividing our 2 queen beds so we had some privacy from the couple we shared the room with. Great option for events near china town.

Out of stock for alligator eggs and other staples like horse feathers and chicken noses. Went to Spadina and got everything I needed.

We had a nice time staying at this hotel. It's conveniently located right in Chinatown. No complaints about the room - clean and spacious with normal amenities (desk, storage for clothes, a mini fridge, a TV, stocked bathroom, etc.). Service was good and we got discounted parking. If you're looking for a good hotel right in Chinatown, this is the one!

I've stayed here several times between 2011 and now (March 2014) and will continue to stay here. The rooms are spacious and clean. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the W5 television review of all Toronto hotels and the Super 8 on Spadina was the cleanest hotel reviewed above all of the much pricier ones one would normally think are better places to stay! Again - about 6 or more months later W5 did a follow up review and the Super 8 on Spadina was still the cleanest place to stay in Toronto!! People snicker when I tell them I stay here, but I love the location, love the culture and nightlife and can't help but feel great about the cleanliness reviews! Make sure you ask for an out facing room. I once was given one of the rooms that faced into the mall, but it was noisy so they moved me to another room without a fuss. Breakfast is simple, but it's free, fresh and clean. Down to earth, smart, frugal, clean and non-snooty sort of people will love this place. I will be back again and again.

What to say other than STAY AWAY. I swear I am a far from fussy. I know how much I paid for this room, I had a good idea of what to expect. Let me assure you it was just a disaster. Let's start with the bathroom, there was dirt all over the floor boards, there was hairs in the bathtub and sink. One of the towels had brown spots???? HOW EVEN. The towels were so rough, I've seen better quality from the dollar store. The water in washroom didn't get hot enough. Oh and every time we turned on the bathroom light the fire alarm went off????????????????? Now for the room itself. Dust EVERYWHERE. Our room had a window that opened to the lobby, where they can look up and see you and wave. They also keep the lobby lights on (I estimate approx 700 watt light bulbs) the curtains certainly did not block the light enough. Stains on the bed skirt and the curtains gross. The beds were old and worn...around 3 AM I woke up take a quick pee and got out of bed gently to ensure the other person wouldn't wake up. My efforts were useless as the minute I lifted myself from the bed the other side dropped to the ground and my friend woke as she was launched out of bed. This is really messed up. At that point between the no more bed and the fire alarm going off we switched rooms. The clerk at the desk was very apologetic and said the manager would speak to us in the morning in regards to the numerous issues we had. Well in the morning the manager was MIA so we were told she would email us (I won't be holding my breath). The new room was of similar filth, the beds were newer and felt like you were sleeping on a brick. Tried to take a shower, I can get better water pressure from a sprinkler system. I estimate I slept max 3 hours... Even if the room was cheap, I say save the money and sleep in your car, you will be more comfortable.

My best friend and I stayed here on 06.18.18. We got a king jacuzzi suite and it was wonderful! Super clean, huge room. The Front Desk Agent working who checked us in was fantastic and very friendly. We were both very impressed. The only thing that sucked was they had no toothpaste which I thought they would. Other than that is was a great stay and we will be using this location from now on when we are in Toronto for concerts!!

I just needed an inexpensive hotel for the night as was taking my elderly mom for tests at Toronto General hospital. (She lives a ways out of town). I really expected very little from this place and sure it didn't have much for amenities. What it did have was modern, large clean rooms. Friendly helpful staff, reasonable parking fees (for Toronto) and a handy location. It's not a 5-star hotel but definitely gives much more than I expected!

Just stayed here and was a perfect budget hotel, clean rooms and the place was so quite because it's winter. friendly staff especially the younger male receptionist, he is a great member of the team. I never saw his name. But he looked after our pink suitcases while we trotted around Toronto waiting for our night time flight. When we came back he was still there and still so friendly, and I was positive he'd been on the night shift aswell. He must have been there over 16 hours and was still giving great customer service. Round of applause sir!

Very clean, very good price on parking ($13 for 1.5 days). Neighborhood looked sketchy but turned out super fun and had endless things to look at. People at hotel were super nice, though our room had very strange lighting and a noisy a/c unit. For the price, we were happy.

Checked out early because we were so disappointed. Dark dingy hotel, no water pressure and shower squealed the entire time. Rooms have been renovated but you can tell that they were rushed - floor sloped and has mounds under the carpet. Included breakfast was pretty basic with toast, bagels, and yogurt. Area of town felt a bit unsafe despite all the people around. They ran out of fitted sheets so the bed just had a flat sheet that moved every time we did and pillows were very lumpy. Would not reccomend to anyone - far nicer hotels nearby for the same price.

Stay was OK. Wouldn't book again if we needed to stay more than one night. Location is a bit of a walk from any downtown attractions. The area, exterior, and parking garage were all a little sketchy. Parking was cheap and convenient, though. The lobby was nice and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and basic. Bed was springy, not super comfortable. Bathroom and shower were nice. Breakfast was a bit lacking with just carbs - bagels, cereal, waffles. For a Wednesday night, we paid over $200 for the one night. I would probably book elsewhere in the future.

I really enjoyed staying here! It was very confusing to find from the parking garage but once I did it wasn’t too bad. I took the stairs instead of elevator because they were sketchy. We got up graded to a room with a jacuzzi without asking and that made the stay even better! It’s not too big but definitely fun to have in the room. The receptionist was a very nice man who answered all of our questions even telling us where the best chines food was! It was a great experience with it being in china town. The FREE breakfast in the morning was so good! You got to make your own waffles! The only complaint I have is the bar wouldn’t serve anything! I went to get a drink at 6 pm and the man sitting there said they were close so I walked away confused and upset. When walking by the receptionist I asked what time the bar closed and he told me 9 pm! How rude of that guy at the bar!

Stayed here for 17 days. I must say i was impressed with the service rendered to us by staff. They were professional and always ready to help with any issues we had which were very little. Must mention the staff at breakfast area. She was exceptional. Price was affordable for our family of 5. Just wished it had a kitchenette so we could have prepared some meals of our own.
